Our family recently enjoyed a delightful Christmas meal at The Bull at Hinton, a charming 17th-century pub nestled in the peaceful village of Hinton, just a short drive from Chippenham. The festive atmosphere was warm and inviting, with tasteful decorations that set the perfect Christmas mood. The menu featured traditional Christmas dinner prepared with high-quality ingredients. The roast turkey was succulent, accompanied by all the classic trimmings, and the sticky toffee pudding was a delightful end to the meal. The staff were attentive and friendly, ensuring that even the youngest members of our family felt welcome. The Bull at Hinton's commitment to quality and community is evident in every aspect, from their locally sourced ingredients to their welcoming atmosphere. Most of their eggs, seasonal fruit and veg come from their own back garden! They have a dog friendly policy if you want your canine friend to accompany you. We highly recommend The Bull at Hinton for anyone seeking a memorable family dining experience.

I can’t fault the food or the price at this restaurant. We did enjoy and the setting was beautiful - the hall itself is really impressive. Only feedback : I feel like they’ve missed a trick! When we told a local we were going there it raised an eyebrow - they considered it very highly and on arrival, I understood why. But on seeing the menu, I couldn’t help but be a little disappointed. For such prestigious surroundings and a grand entrance, I was surprised the menu consisted of burger, curry and fish and chips. I was expecting fine dining and locally sourced ingredients to match the high level of service and location. I would happily have paid more than the £14 main course price tag for something a little more special. As I said, the food was good - just a little underwhelming as it had the feeling of being bought in / pre made (example - the pâté). I would recommend the chicken pie but not the brownie - it wasn’t really a brownie and needed ice cream or cream with it.

We’ve frequented this lovely pub often this past week and our son stayed in the BnB while we were in the area visiting family. Great accommodation and breakfasts as per our son. Sunday lunch for 16 of our family was top notch. Great roasted meats nicely presented, ample fresh veggies and lovely side dishes all served piping hot by friendly staff. Some of us left room for dessert - delicious. We were able to linger over coffee and tea and enjoy catching up with one another. Thumbs up all round!

Stayed the night here to break the journey to Devon up , the rooms are lovely with everything you need and dog friendly too. If you're going to eat here you need to prepare, despite a 10km walk earlier the tri - roast beat me and it was all quality too. The Haddock and chips my wife ordered was similarly large and again delicious. Breakfast the next morning was again all quality produce cooked perfectly. Special thanks to Hannah who looked after us brilliantly. P.s. the parking situation mentioned in a lot of reviews is now resolved.
