We stayed the night here, had dinner and breakfast the next morning - WOW!!! What super lovely staff, great stay, cute rooms, wonderful hot & powerful shower! Breakfast was AMAZING (eggs royal) 9.5/10 as my only problem was bed too hard and bit lumpy. Everything else perfect, right down to the tasty little cookies in the room. Will definitely stay again

We stayed overnight as we had a wedding not too far away really lovely rooms, and had a spontaneous breakfast the next day with other wedding people. The staff were brilliant food was lovely and a great gluten-free menu.

I passed this pub every day for years on the way to the M4 without calling in. After a really long drive, I was tired and couldn’t drive any more. It is so close to the motorway it seemed a good place to have a break, so I stopped for food and an overnight stay. I was pleasantly surprised. Refurbished recently and with rooms to stay that rival anywhere for comfort, I had a lovely meal served by friendly staff, a good nights sleep and was back on the M4 refreshed and happy the next morning.

Fairly impressed. Although it was busy the staff were helpful and attentive. The food was very good and nicely presented. The only negative comment that I have is that there was a dog in the dining room. Dogs should really be in the bar area or outside (in my opinion) even in a dog-friendly pub.

Fantastic setting unfortunately the price that we paid for our meals definitely did not justify the quantity on the plate, the roast potatoes were hard on the outside an definitely cooked the day before. Only 2 veg on the plate was a let down surely some peas/carrots aswell could maybe have justified the cost. Also at 12.15 no mint sauce was available. And it's not very professional seeing the management team having words behind the bar with a waitress whilst I was waiting to pay.

Impressive (expensive for a pub) menu did not unfortunately live up to expectations or previous visit with original owners. Great location just off M4. Nice pub and building. Family members travelled long way to meet us so extra disappointed with the outcome. Go for a drink but avoid the food. My wife’s steak sandwich all bread and little steak! But ai did enjoy the calamari starter (@£9.25 over priced), and my ultimate cheese toastie (£11.00) but bread was a challenge to eat.

We were staying for two nights in the excellent rooms and ate on both evenings in restaurant, plus enjoyed breakfast. Wonderful staff, a most helpful manager. Cannot find fault at all. A superb place.

Popped in for dinner as in the area, what a great find, homemade pie delicious, steak was perfectly cooked and chips were some of the best I’ve ever had. Chocolate brownie finished it off perfectly. Gone home nursing a food baby 😂

We had a one stay after a long drive & appreciated the warm welcome by the staff. Our room which was located in a building adjacent to the pub was clean, comfortable & well appointed. Car parking for onsite guests seemed to work well & dinner & breakfast were good quality. Also very close to Dryham Park.

We stayed for one night as we were meeting family friends from Wales. The best thing about this hotel is the staff and the customer service, everyone was extremely professional, helpful and friendly, and the communication about the booking was 100%. The hotel was nice and cozy, and rooms were comfortable and clean, and the restaurant was good. The only downside to the hotel is the location so close to the A46 into Bath, it was extremely noisy with road traffic all night. Sadly as a light sleeper I would not rebook a stay at this hotel.

Had lunch at the Crown yesterday me and my partner were very impressed with how excellent the food was. I had sausage and mash my partner had the pie of the day both meals served hot and portion size was fantastic. The staff were very quick and we couldn't of asked for much more from them, all in all an excellent visit and will be returning when travelling to Bath in the near future keep up the great work.

Return visit... Always great food that represents good value. The menu is a bit limited, but the choice is adequate. The service is really good. Will visit again.

The 3 of us had the two course Sunday Roast. The roast was good and the service was prompt. All in all quite a reasonable meal.

although the building looks run down and the shop out dated, the food is quite fresh tastes ok and is reasonably priced, however besides one blonde lady the staff are rude and quite short. they are supposed to close at 4 but normally are closed by about 3:50. the donut selection is random I never know what they will or wont have id go greggs if it was closer

Myself & my husband visited the fox den pub yesterday, and will be returning. We was served Tracey, who was super friendly and welcoming. The pub it self has not lost its touch ( visited a few years ago) see you soon.
