Food was good and piping hot, the waiting time was appalling, nearly two and a half hours to complete our meal. The waiter thought himself too clever to use the iPad for taking our order so forgot my starter. In defence we were then given our deserts free of charge but, that did not really make up for a disappointing visit. We have been several times before so hopefully this was an exception, I hope especially as they did not appear to be really busy. Better luck next time? (it’s next to the hotel we use)

The food came cold took 2 hours for mains and the service was shocking would not recommend

Chose this location as it was the nearest alternative to where we had planned to eat. We were not disappointed. A good selection of drinks and food on the menu. The staff were very polite and friendly.

It was mine and my husbands first time here tonight. It was recommended by family and what a lovely place it was. Atmosphere was good, we had the 3 course meal for £30 and the food was amazing! Just the right amount for every dish. Very comfortable and decorated lovely. Best of all was our lovely waiter Ben. Very welcoming, friendly, chatty and funny and just made the experience that much better. We will most certainly be returning and would definitely recommend :)

Beautiful meal for me and my family

Today Mother’s Day 2025 we attended on time to check in for our pre booked table for 12 at 3pm, our table was late due to delays in the kitchen, ultimately we were offered a table in the bar section not restaurant. A delay in food leaving the kitchen was an understatement, after some very poorly presented and rather tasteless starters our mains were eventually placed at the table at 4.45pm. To say these roast dinners, and two of the blandest children’s meals I have ever seen, left a lot to be desired is an understatement! I wish I had photos to share as none of the food we were served looked anything like the meals photoed in other earlier reviews. I am gluten free and waited an additional 10 minutes for my meal to arrive, the meat was slivers of rare beef with sloppy veg, appalled I sent the meal back, complained to the manager who did absolutely nothing to appease the situation. I promptly left the venue. Everyone appreciates that on special occasions venues are busy, but this venue seemed totally unprepared to cater to the customers arriving for bookings, we heard lots of people complaining, hardly any staff present, no customer service what so ever! At £28 a head for a restricted menu, no drinks service at table, it was very, very poor and upsetting! And for me no Mother’s Day dinner!!!

Good selection of food but we waited way too long for it to be served, especially as the restaurant was quite quiet.

Food was lovely but it took 30 mins for the waiter to take our order and another 30 mins for the food to arrive.

What a great place! Food is fantastic, not like some generic chain. Staff are all great. Can be hard to find entrance but so worth the effort.

The food was really nice here, and the service was brill. Our servers were friendly and really helpful, especially when I told them I was coeliac. The atmosphere was nice and cosy and not too loud so we could hold a conversation without a problem.

Difficult to have a great experience when dining on your own but, music, staff, food and service were very nice thankyou.

Dylan wore a nice apron and called us sir a lot which made some of us feel special. He was also nice, we liked him. "Lost in music" (which played whilst here) is in one guests option one of the best songs in existence.

Got a takeaway Sunday lunch. It was nice. The Yorkshire pudding, turkey and triple cooked chips were very nice. The stuffing, beef, vegetables, potatoes and gravy weren't at all appetising. The customer service was good, very friendly and helpful.

Reassessed upon return. Previous review was poor, obviously a couple of bad days I attended. Some premium lagers and good wine and gin selection. Nice large beer garden.

Lovely food, lovely staff. The decor is great, really cosy. Great all rounder. Will definitely be back 🙂

Owen was really good. Spoke to the children and involved them when he came to the table. Nothing was too much trouble. He kept checking in to make sure we had everything we needed.

My second visit this week as I am here for work. First visit was really good, food and drinks came on time, ordered the country drink, it came in a much larger glass with dried sprinkled berries, today small glass no berries and was waiting a long time for my drink Food arrived late too, I had to ask for my food I waited at 10-15 mins for sometime take my order, other customers arrived after me and tended to before me with drinks I noticed an group of customers whilst I was eating within 5 mins of them seated, their drinks order was taken, 5 mins later their food order? Service was very poor today
