Stopped for a quick lunch and felt welcomed. First choices were unavailable, so chose the gammon. This was a huge portion, bigger than I've ever seen! Sadly the fried eggs were hard, but still very good value. The seniors menu with smaller portions seems to be popular at least at lunch time. The service was quick. Well worth a visit for a quick reasonably priced meal

I played in a band here last week very friendly staff and cheap drinks

the worst chips of my entire existence . Burnt outside and greesy oily inside, had to quit after only 1 chips eaten. probably been cooked is some very very very exhausted oil or even worst them were some leftover chips cooked twice or 3 times. Rude barlady, we are local but we won't step in inside this pub not even for mistake

Great friendly Staff lovely food

I was there with my son and my wife, and another mother with her daughter, we were greeted by a rude over 40 years old brunette waiter wich rushed us out from the entrance even if i am a diabetic and needed just a moment to rest. In a few minutes she returned as i was waiting for my uber to leave and tried to explain to us the location is closed for the public starting 20.00 and that is why she behaved as she did. Please in atention to whoever need to take action, this behaviour is damaging to the brand and the lives that it comes in contact with.

Went to this pub with my friend for a meal walked in and the atmosphere felt unwelcome I ordered a glass of coke and the lady behind the bar rudely asked for my ID just for a glass of Coke she rudely said even if you was ordering a glass of water you still get ID we was going to order food but as she made us feel unwelcome we left and went elsewhere also my glass of Coke was flat no ice she dint even ask and only filled it up quarter way

Popped into here for a pee. Unfortunately they don't have a disabled toilet so I had to use the ladies as there was only 1 lady in the bar. The barman was very helpful and stood guard while I was in there. Had a couple of pints while that the barman brought out to the beer garden. I would of given 5 stars if they had a disabled loo

Nice place for a quick meal & a Beer or Cider. Bar staff-friendly prices are fair. Staff Âre friendly so Not a bad boozer.

A nice pub with a good play area which is currently being renovated. Unfortunately one of the bar staff is the most miserable woman we have ever encountered!

I have lived in the area for many many years & this was my first visit to this pub. I was pleasantly surprised. Large car park & some on street parking. It's a large fairly bright pub & it was very busy, which is a good sign. Nice varied menu, with a further specials board & jacket potatoes. Most of of the main meals were circa £9. Staff were polite & helpful & the meal arrived quickly. Recommended, I will visit again.

The food was great, customer service could have been more understanding. I put my food order in, when it came out there was a wrong item, it was a valentines birthday treat has my wife and mums birthday is on the same day, 14th Feb, also had our son and daughter there, my mum is 96 and suffers with dementia. Anyway I was told it was something I defiantly ordered, , I might of said it wrong but my daughter is vegetarian and was not suitable for her so i explained all this but to have the right dish come out I was force to pay again. I meant it when I said I would not be going back, Even if I did make a mistake, they could have been a bit more understanding rather than worry about there profit margins, Was not the first time we went there and have recommended them to other people who also has gone there, wont be doing that anymore, It's a shame, mistakes happen, not away to keep customers.

Basically don’t bother if your a family the kids are not even allowed to move off their chairs our kids we’re not causing any problems yet they were stood putting music on the duke box and we had a lady come over from the bar who said her boss would lot be happy if he seen them leaving their seats we are talking kids who are 11/12 spent nearly £100 and still never good enough Awful service never going again… we were told it was not kid friendly how they were getting rid of the park so that it wasn’t.. which is just awful

Went for afternoon of catch up with friends and basically told if the kids don't sit down we would get kicked out by the management. Basically if you got children do not go here terrible service bearing in mind we put over £100 over the bar with drinks and food Terrible.

We had family Xmas Day Lunch. The food was delicious, freshly cooked and service was excellent. Will definitely be booking for future events

Discovered this gem recently, so far great atmosphere on a sunny day in the huge outside family dog friendly garden. Food been well presented and delicious. Friendly staff. Inside also welcoming... shall visit again soon with my friends.

We phoned to make a reservation for Sunday lunch. The lady on the phone most hpful and took an advanced order for our meals. We arrived got a drink from a very friendly me.ber of staff who told us where our table was. The food was tasty, gravy gorgeous, veg cooked not crunchy and the meat was lovely. The meal was hot and tasty 😋 we will go back definitely.

Staff are always friendly. We were there to watch a band and the atmosphere was excellent. We didn't eat yesterday but have in the past. Excellent value for money.

My Grandmother lived on the Common just in front of the Horseshoe so I was always popping up there for a packet of crisp. So it is part of my Childhood and that is why I go there. The Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Not great, wine served by the 125ml bottle, not a good brand or choice. Sat outside, tables and bench seating broken to the point that the first one which was sat on the opposite lifted up including the nail that was supposed to attach it to the frame! Didn't tell the staff as it was clear it wouldn't have got logged. Didn't eat, thank goodness, would I go again.... no, would I recommend.... no, sorry!

Nice large pub close to cycle track .

The foods OK but just gone up. I'm disabled and confined to a wheelchair and there is no disabled toilet in the pub which is no good because there should be. I have also been told by other people that there is no baby changing place either and there should be. Sharon.

Nice pub good cheap food and drink

If I could rate less stars I would. 2 members of staff have let this pub down. One being the owner I believe. It seems they only are friendly to regular “punters” What happened to going the extra mile for customers….absolutely everything I asked for was refused or an issue! - extra cheese on nacchos - apparently it’s too much “faff” even though I would pay extra - ask to put my phone on charge for 5 minutes - “no they are all in use” The “customer service” is shocking, they are all rude and abrupt. Obviously not interested in growing their busines and being recommended as I certainly would not recommend the service or the food. Avoid unless your a local “punter” you will be welcomed!

In the world of wannabe wine bars and Faux brasseries it's easy to forget places like this are around. The great British pub. The menu was vas with a board of chefs specials, the food classic British with a Whopping size Piece of fish for the fish and chips they had liver and onions on offer as well as a all day Breakfast, our food was prompt from ordering and was really good the best part being affordable. Staff were brilliant polite and friendly. Atmosphere was great also. If you want a no frills classic British pub it's a great place to visit. Will return for sure.

Family Xmas Dinner at the horseshoe was great as usual. Loads of great food. The soup starter this year was amazing! If your planning on eating out for Xmas then book early as places get snapped up fast!

Excellent value and incredible weekly deals. Visiting from Australia and the value for money simply cannot compete.

The chicken burger was tasty, and so was the beef burger.🍻🍔The prices were just right. I really like the space, but I don't like the slot machines in the middle of the lobby. I will definitely go back and enjoy again 🤤👌🤟🏽

Ten members of a Walking Group had a pre arranged lunch here after a walk around the Common and surrounding area. It’s Great to go into a Real Pub that serves very good food at extremely sensible prices. There is a wide choice from Seniors lunch to full menu plus Specials on the blackboard. Everyone commented favourably on the quality of the food, the amazingly quick service on a busy Friday. Really enjoyed the lunch, the beer and the very hospitable and friendly Staff.

The food is absolutely delicious and quick service from ordering to table, and the staff are very friendly and helpful and is a handy to acess dog friendly pub, would advise to try the beautifully delicious treacle sponge and custards yummy :)

The pub could be great, sadly the owner is a senile old lady that has nothing better to do than be grumpy. She has no business sense or reason... Maby that's why the pub is empty on a Friday night. The kitchen was shut 15min before the time it was supposed to be, when we ordered a takeaway we were refused service because "rules are rules"... "this is not a picnic area and we serve snacks" like I will have peanuts for dinner. At 19:45 by the way... Honestly, OK pub. Idiot owner. Feels like the staff are held there against their will.

Tidy pub. Always been my local growing up. Pints are fresh and good quality at a reasonable price. Food is really tasty with a good selection. Recommend the burgers. Looking forward to a few more beers, lagers, and ciders to become available at some point. Especially on draft. Decent beer garden aswell. Good size but can get busy at peak times. Do miss a few years back when live sport/ Sky used to be shown.

Ordered food day before . For 11 persons , kids burgers disgusting. Main meal fish and chips tasted disgusting couldn’t eat . And orders missing . Will not return

Went to have food but Found some staff not that welcoming,food was ok,its was getting busy because there’s not many pubs in this area anymore that serves food,toilets out of order n one part of pub and others blocked and nearly over flowing,I would go back if I’m stuck to find anywhere else
