I can’t fault the food or the price at this restaurant. We did enjoy and the setting was beautiful - the hall itself is really impressive. Only feedback : I feel like they’ve missed a trick! When we told a local we were going there it raised an eyebrow - they considered it very highly and on arrival, I understood why. But on seeing the menu, I couldn’t help but be a little disappointed. For such prestigious surroundings and a grand entrance, I was surprised the menu consisted of burger, curry and fish and chips. I was expecting fine dining and locally sourced ingredients to match the high level of service and location. I would happily have paid more than the £14 main course price tag for something a little more special. As I said, the food was good - just a little underwhelming as it had the feeling of being bought in / pre made (example - the pâté). I would recommend the chicken pie but not the brownie - it wasn’t really a brownie and needed ice cream or cream with it.

We stayed at the Tracy Park Hotel overnight and dined at the Masons Restaurant. The meal was amazingly good value. The service was efficient and friendly and the time between courses was just right. The food was presented beautifully and was excellent. The portions were just right although I perhaps overstretched myself (self-inflicted) as the food was so good I wanted a dessert too.

Pro's 1) Excellent location and surroundings. 2) Friendly staff 3) Prices are 'reasonable' Con's 1) Limited Menu (menu should also be published on their website). 2) The food was disappointing. Flavorless lamb and huge tasteless croquette. 3) Staff need better training. For example, don't bring the bill and stand at the table waiting. 4) We had to walk to the bar to pay as for some reason a card machine could not be brought to our table.

Lovely vaulted room, chilly without the fire on. Limited menu for the day we dined, it was the middle of the week. The white wine not quite chilled enough. In my opinion slightly over priced.

Good food which could have been great. No dressing on the caesar salad and lamb was a bit too pink. Not quite enough attention to detail and they weren't busy. Such a shame.

Had a fantastic mean at Masons.Went as a couple that were staying in the hotel and was really impressed with the quality of the food.Limited as the menu was, four starters and four deserts, everything we ate was great.Starters were hot and cold smoked salmon and a dish of pork belly with cockles which was really great. Mains were a pork Wellington and a lamb shoulder, all of which were superb. I'm hoping the chef has decided to opt for quality over quantity in his cooking, which would certainly appear to be the case! It's by no means a cheap place to eat, and if the hotel expands, which I believe it has plans to do, it will need to address it's lack of earing options.Until then it remains one of the best meals I've had in a very long time!

My partner and I dined here as part of a weekend stay in the hotel. It was really exceptional food. The staff greeted us and we were shown to a table near the open fire, lovely atmosphere. The restaurant is small and provides an intimate feel whilst being in an amazing building. Staff were attentive, polite and well presented. The menu had a few choices of each course, there was only one vegetarian meal on our menu so this might be worth bearing in mind as limited choice. Extensive wine list. The food was delicious and very well presented. Food portions were just right and we felt it was excellent value for money for the standard and quality of food. Where did they find this chef?! Gorgeous food, wonderful staff and a whole fantastic evening. Thank you, we'd love to dine with you again.

My partener and I had a meal here for our anniversary and were both extremely happy with the food and service we received and both agree is the nicest meal we have ever eaten out. The room is very grand with its high ceilings, stone carvings and open fire and the staff are extremely helpful and polite. Lovely place, great staff and wonderful food for extremely reasonable prices. Would recommend anyone to visit.

The Masons Restaurant is in the Tracy Park Hotel, its worth the visit as the hotel is steeped in history, as is the Maons. Its an old Masonic Temple dating back hundreds of years and dotted with Masonic symbols. The restaurant is elegant and service is good. They offer prix fixe 2 or 3 course menus at around £20, which worked great for us. Not the largest of choices but everything they served was tasty and it represented great value for money. The wine list is a little limited with most wines less that £30 a bottle. All in all we had a great night at the Mason's. It must be a well kept secret as we were the only people there, so don't tell anyone,

I have stayed at Tracy Park 9 or 10 times now and have eaten in Masons on each occasion. The food has bee excellent on every occasion which is why I have just decided to write this review after another good meal. I like the fact that the chef only puts a small number of dishes for each course, that way he can concentrate on the quality of what he puts out. Similarly the price is VERY reasonable £24 for 3 courses is CHEAP given the quality of the food itself. I like the hotel but I love the food - please give it a go!

We had dinner in this restaurant during our stay at the Tracy Park Hotel and couldn't fault the food. There isn't a huge amount to choose from on the menu, but sometimes this can be a good thing. I had duck and my husband had steak. It was superbly cooked and piping hot. The prices are very reasonable. The staff were polite and helpful. I didn't have dessert, but my husband had apple crumble for dessert, which he said was one of the best he's ever had! Would certainly recommend this restaurant!

Stayed at the hotel on a Groupon voucher and had an included 3 course dinner. This consisted of a set menu with a number of choices for each course. The highlights of the meal were the Blade of Beef which was beautifully tender and came with a good portion of smooth mash and a lovely garlic mushroom and some kale and a wonderful dark ginger sponge with toffee sauce and ice cream which was just divine. The service was well paced and friendly and a fire was alight in the grate giving a cosy feel to the evening. The restaurant certainly has character due to the building's masonic history. We had a wonderful meal and couldn't fault the food or the service. Fabulous!

Masons Restaurant is the main dining area in the Tracy Park Hotel it is located in the old Masonic Hall, both dinner and breakfast is served here. The restaurant has approximately twelve table's so not to avoid disappointment it is best to book. The room itself is very interesting with various carving's on the wall's and it come's into its own in the evening with fire's burning and subdued lighting. The dinner menu choice is not large but the food they produce is superb, it was cooked to perfection, presented very well and tasted even better. Breakfast is buffet style, plenty of choice and you get your eggs cooked to order, a great way to start the day.

We ate in the restaurant when we stayed in the hotel. The food was delicious and nicely presented. However, even after three courses we did not feel very full, which was quite a big downside. If you're paying for a meal you want to be full. But this is not to say I would not eat there again. It really was delicious.

The biggest secret of the year is the groupon menu. I can reveal that our choice was starter; soup, mackerel pate or pork rillades (shredded pork, similar to pate)Mains; belly pork salmon, risotto or blade of beef.Food was excellent for the money, ours was included in the £99 deal.

Basically the food took ages to come, the service was rubbish. Wine bottle dumped on the table, unused cutlery left. Soggy bread served. Cold main courses x 2Both sent backWhen the meals returned were not much better and poor quality. We were given complimentary desserts. I chose I've cream which tasted old. My friends sticky toffee pudding was old and possibly microwaved as the edges and ends were hard was poor. The cheese and biscuits were nice though and well presented . Wouldn't return. Coffees came without spoons and tiny pieces of sugar on the side. Not impressed at all.

Although I found the lighting in the restuarant to be a little too dark indeed making it difficult to see what one was eating at times, they could be forgiven as the ambiance and settings of the restuarant are wonderful. Set in an Medieval hall inside the Manor House as it is.The chef produces dishes that are truly unique and delicious fabulously presented at very reasonable prices. However I do feel that breakfast lets them down as it pales in comparison and was a dissapointment I was not the only guest to comment on breakfast on both mornings we ate there. Food was not hot and several guests declined the poorly cooked eggs wich needed to be cooked longer. I mentioned this too the staff and requested some scrambled eggs that had a longer cooking and this was promptly received, however this does not alter the fact that it was a very lack lustre Luke warm breakfast, very dissaponting after our wonderful evening meal the night before.

With a set carvery and not especially good beef a disappointing meal. Usually one can expect exceptional beef because the size of the joint is bigger than most families can get. Servings were not on the generous side, perhaps I should have asked for more but it was more school dinners that haute cuisine. I got the impression that this restaurant and hotel caters for not overly discerning golf ears rather that guests who like their food.

Booked lunch for 11 people (my mum's birthday) a week in advance. Called the day before to let them know 1 person was unable to make it, so changed the booking to 10 people. Just had a call from the 'manager' to say they hadn't written my booking 'in the book' so she would try and muster something up with the chef. We could all have Guinea Fowl or 'bar snacks'...her suggestion was baguettes or burgers! Apparently it's MY fault they didn't put it in the book, not theirs. I did suggest as she was the manager, perhaps she should manage the situation and get to the bottom of the issue with her staff. She wasn't interested. Her attitude was absolutely appalling. No apology, no contrition...nothing, just disdain. They must have really dragged the bottom of the barrel to appoint this manager. I would suggested she was fired and replaced with a pot-plant.

Just had a family lunch of 11 of us. The service was impeccable, the variety of food on offer was sufficient and different from usual pub fayre with very tasty curries. Biryani was full of flavour, with good vegetarian and children's options. Trad Sunday lunch excellent with fresh veg. The staff were so friendly and attentive on what was a very busy day. Decor and cleanliness tip top. A real pleasure, we were looked after very well from start to finish. Prices reasonable too, although the desserts may need to be rebalanced between cost and quantity. A lovely lunch for all. Thank you. Steve + 10

Take a punt on the Grumpy Griffin. It might be your lucky day but then again you might regret it. A mixed set of results from customers. Mine was negative. No real ale. Only a few peeps on Sunday mid-afternoon and one was drunk as a Lord and seemingly spoiling for trouble. Background music was fine. Quality tv showing a premiership game. Just cider, lager and Guinness on tap. Feels like a local pub where others are not made welcome.
