Food is good but offer no children’s breakfast and will not let you just buy them a few things off the extras part of the menu either so have to buy a child an adults size plate… other than that ok at best

I'm only giving 2 stars because the first time my partner and I visited the meals and service was OK. Since then we have returned on 2 other occasions and both the service and food had fallen each time. The last visit will be just that. A simple order of a sandwich, 2 coffees and a cake took 40 mins, then they got the order wrong and brought each item separately. My partners sandwich arrived after 15 mins, coffee only came 10 mins later after chasing it up myself. Finally cake came 20 mins later after the sandwich had been eaten, drinks drunk. Before some loyalist say it must have been busy or short staffed, bull!. It had only 3 other customers during our stay, 2 working the kitchen and one on the till. Had thought we found a gem but it turned out to be fools gold. PS. Although they have newly installed central heating it is never on, unless its summer bring a hat & coat, its a cold place to be while waiting a long time for your food.

My recent visit to The Viaduct Deli left an indelible impression, prompting me to share a well-deserved review. From the moment we walked in, we were met with genuine warmth and smiles from the attentive staff. The thoughtful inclusion of toys for children, coupled with a charming garden and breathtaking views, created an inviting atmosphere for patrons of all ages. As for the culinary offerings, they surpassed all expectations. Each dish was prepared with care and attention to detail, resulting in a dining experience that was nothing short of delightful. I found myself thoroughly enjoying every aspect of my stop, from the ambiance to the delectable fare. In essence, The Viaduct Deli offers more than just exceptional food; it provides a welcoming haven where hospitality and quality converge seamlessly. It's a testament to the dedication of the staff and the commitment to excellence that permeates every aspect of the establishment. Without a doubt, I wholeheartedly recommend this charming deli to anyone in search of a memorable dining experience.

The lady serving us had the most filthy clothes on ever - just covered in stains and mess. I don’t know how you can work in the food industry and think this is ok? The tables around us were left with leftovers plates etc for a good 20 mins. So off - putting. Even when they cleaned our table - there were used tissues on the seat. People next to us asked for their table to be cleaned . Plenty of staff , why isn’t this a priority? The actual lunch was nice but we were so put off by the mess and dirty clothes I wouldn’t return. It’s such an easy fix - the food is nice - just clean up a bit and it will be so much better .

Dog friendly too What’s not to like If you’ve got an extra 5 minutes pop into the deli for some amazing treats, stuff I’ve never seen before (and I’ve been around 😀) and the stuff I have is cheaper than I’ve seen around so win/win!! Grace & Deb (& co) are doing an outstanding job Don’t take my word for it, go see for yourself! You won’t be disappointed

First time at this venue today 12/05/2023. Decided to have 2 large all day breakfasts £11.45 each and ordered at 12.30pm and sat outside. After 30 minutes we asked how much longer and told its on its way. 10 more minutes wait the food arrived. It was luke warm at best with some items cold, only 1 piece of black pudding, which was served after the food had arrived. Should have been 2 black pudding, and 1 piece of bacon on 1 plate, again should have been 2. There was no apology for the delay, staff more interested in serving pre booked customers. Very disappointed and poor customer service although the food was a good quality. Not worth the long wait for cold and missing items.

Stopped by for one tea and one black coffee, I ordered two pieces of toast, one with jam, my order came to £11 after deducting the price of the drinks it worked out that I paid £3.25 for each piece of toast the bread wasn’t toasted properly and the portions of butter and jam were very small, this is absolutely extortionate especially with the cost of living being so expensive at the moment, I could have got it cheaper at the Ritz hotel. Avoid !!!!!!!

We ordered a regular breakfast and ham, egg and chips. All food was cooked and presented beautifully and very good quality. There was a good selection of food available including a breakfast and lunch menu as well as some specials. It was my first visit to the cafe however I’ve been there before to the (also excellent) florist next door. I was impressed by how much the area has been improved by the owners, clearly a lot of time and money has been spent.

What's not to love? Every once in a while, one happens upon an absolute gem of a place to sit down and eat. The Viaduct Cafe is no exception to this general rule - what an outstanding experience my friend and I had today. There are menu's for breakfast, lunch/afternoon and cream teas/afternoon teas are also available (please allow a minimum of 12 hours notice when booking cream/afternoon tea). We both decided on the tuna mayonnaise toastie with chips (you can have crisps instead if you wish) and a generous garnish of fresh salad and excellent homemade coleslaw. We were absolutely delighted with the quality and pesentation of our impromptu lunch; the bread was beautifully fresh and lightly toasted, the filling of tuna mayonaise was generous with lots of good-quality tuna which wasn't drowned in mayonnaise as is often found in other establishments as a cost-reducing measure. The salad was fresh and crisp and the chips were freshly cooked. The coleslaw here is something else - incredibly creamy, crunchy, satisfyingly tasty and well-seasoned. The tea was very nice too, especially for those of us who enjoy a fuller-flavoured tea, Deb left the teabags in our cups so that we could have it as strong as we liked which we appreciated. There is ample offstreet parking right outside the premises, with disabled spaces immediately next to the wheelchair-accessible entrance. There is a pleasant outdoor area with seating, covering and what I assume is a bar-type area - this will be superb for warmer days. One could happily sit and watch the young deer eating the apples fallen from any one of several apple trees in the wooded area opposite! This establishment is spotlessly clean, elegantly decorated and well-presented, and the staff are wonderful. I met Deb today who was working incredibly hard to look after diners as well as a multitude of other tasks - she's very industrious and not fazed by multitasking at speed! Deb is also incredibly pleasant, talkative and nothing is too much trouble. Overall, this was one of those truly exceptional experiences and I'll be visiting on a weekly basis from now on. As a side note they also sell gift cards - the ideal gift for someone who already has everything! They also have a breakfast challenge - The Victory Breakfast - for those with enormous appetites matching an enormous stomach capacity!! Thank you to Deb and gang, looking forward to stopping in again next Thursday!

We decided to revisit the Viaduct Cafe after hearing it had re-opened but sadly we were very disappointed both with the service and the food. This is early days for the new team so I hope things will improve. We ordered 3 large breakfast and one regular. We waited an awful long time for the food to come and discovered our order had been given to another table. They retook our order ( still got it confused) and had to re cook it. When it was served they delivered the 3 large breakfast but we had to wait for the Regular. The food wasn’t very good either. The large breakfast (£11.45) had two Eggs which were over done, sausages over done and very small. Bacon undercooked. Small portion of fresh mushrooms and some nice fresh grilled cherry tomatoes. Two Plain and tasteless slices of Black pudding ( though one serving only had one slice) and two hash browns that were light and crispy. Toast ( choice of white or brown) served piled on top of the breakfast rather than separately but some of us got butter and some didn’t . Plus a pot of Baked Beans. The Regular was exactly the same, but one slice of everything.(£8.95). We waited a long time for drinks and had to ask several times before they arrived.(Tea £1.20 a cup). The sauce was in sachets up at the counter, you have to help yourselves but there was nowhere to put the empty containers and the paper from the sugar, which blew about on the table. The environment is bright and clean and the seating, tables and dining area is welcoming. There is also seating outside and on a sunny day this seemed popular. This was a rather expensive breakfast which didn’t live up to expectations. Staff shortages are clearly an issue in catering at present but if you are opening a new venture, you have to get this right. I wish them well and hope our experience was a one off. Sadly we won’t be revisiting in the near future

Stopped here for a hot drink and a quick look around at the request of a friend who arranged to meet me here. To put it bluntly this place gives the first impression of being shambolic and run by a group of probably well intentioned but very unequipped people with little ability to care for a random group of “ rescued” creatures in anything resembling basic standards of care. I left concerned for the conditions the random group of animals were being kept in ( Rheas in a pen much too small, tortoise in inadequate pens, random birds in dark dingy aviaries- to name a few). Staff / volunteers seemed friendly enough. The cafe seems to double up as a meeting point for local builders and tradespeople, so if you like drinking lukewarm coffee in a place where people shout conversation across tables it’s the place for you- if you are looking for a good meeting and catch up place ,I would suggest avoiding it! . Hot drink was passable.

This was not the case and we waited for quite a while for my grandchildrens food. We also ordered food for my husband and I. We waited an hour before our food arrived not before I had asked three times how much longer our food was going to be. No apoligy and one of the young men working at the cafe kept making excuses about the fact there was only two chefs on duty. The only concession I received for my trouble was two cup cakes as an apology. On a good note I could not find any fault with the food but they need more staff to serve and clear the tables and maybe another cheff!!

My wife recently came here during a weekday with our 2yo and was suitably impressed with the venue and food. We returned on a Saturday afternoon for lunch with our parents and the food was certainly just as good. Unfortunately there was a kids party on at the time so they were a little slower serving (which I can accept) and the "Saturday job" service was a little too evident for our liking. We've since fed this back to the owners and hope to return again soon to (hopefully) prove that this was a one-off.

A good range of basic lunch menu, freshly cooked at a reasonable price, with good service. We enjoyed looking at the animals afterwards, good for families.

The problem with a limited menu is just that….. It’s limited. If you are a regular visitor as we are, you quickly run out of choice. When we last visited there was no “Specials” available and that really narrowed the choice. They seem to serve what is available with random ingredients, for example, every time we order chicken it is served differently, the last time it was served with cold tomato slices, courgettes and a couple of small potatoes and a pesto type “Sauce”. This was entirely different than the last time we ordered chicken. I may be wrong but it gives the impression that the chef serves up whatever is available on the day. We find the sandwich choices very strange, why not have a more traditional selection? We understand that the days of hugely extensive menus are probably over but if a limited menu is preferred by the business, it needs to be changed regularly or return customers will quickly not be…. Return customers. The prices are a little on the high side and waiting time is sometimes a problem, however, the staff are always pleasant and the manager is very polite and helpful. The actual location is lovely and the ambience of the pub is good. This review is subjective, but the consensus from our group is the menu needs more variety end should focus on more traditional food options.

I played The Bristol yesterday as a last minute booking and was very impressed with both the service and the condition of the course. I turned up roughly and hour early for my tee time because i had to drop my dad off for an operation at Southmead. The very nice lady in the pro shop got me off about 40 minutes earlier and I had a really enjoyable round. This was made even more enjoyable by the 2 groups if ladies in front of me who allowed me through on both the 6th and 8th holes. If I was playing at my home course, I'd have been stuck behind them all day, so I was was very grateful for them allowing me through. They are a credit to the golf club. I will be definitely visiting again soon providing the wet weather holds off.

Pub food at a reasonable price. You get what you pay for, my steak pie was only half filled, with very little meat. My wife's vegetarian chilie was very good.
