The Farmers Table in South Gloucestershire

The Farm was clean, tidy with excellent views and service. Downside was that the food helpings were small.

The full English breakfast had lovely local produce although really expensive, nearly £30 for 2 of us inc hot drinks

A lovely afternoon tea to celebrate my friends birthday. We arrived very early and although it was busy we were warmly welcomed and shown to our table. The staff were very helpful and friendly. This is one of the best afternoon teas in the area and i have had a few!! The items were all freshly prepared and were a little different. Will definitely visit again.

Lovely location , stunning views . Great seating area outside . Ordered at the counter then waiter service , your order brought to your table . It was quite busy but we didn’t have to wait long for our food . Farm shop next door with a butcher’s counter . Fresh bread, pies, homemade cakes, frozen foods , fresh fruit and veg wines etc . The main car park is usually full but there is a overflow car park on the right a few meters from the farm shop …

Great little coffee/ cake / small plate food place. Fantastic views and outside seating for the summer months.

Mediocre overcooked bland food, ideal for old people which in fairness is the target market. Portions are quite large however and decent prices. Incredible view if sat outside!

Visited today with a friend for lunch. Food was lovely.Queue was long and they don’t hurry to serve you. I went to buy cakes to take home after we had finished our lunch as there was no queue then but I was completely ignored. Two members of staff preferred to tidy up and clear tables rather than serve me…….so I left. Would not hurry back for that reason. I can never fathom why places do not understand that customers are king especially ones that want to spend money with them. Score for customer service zero.

Ordered food, wrong food was brought to the table, they then offered a refund rather than providing correct food ordered as said they were too busy. Really looking forward to it and thoroughly disappointed. Awful service, shame on the manager not approaching and sending poor young lad to the table.

Fantastic cafe just 5 minutes off junction 14. Well worth the short drive if you want some really great food as you head up or down the M5.

Fabulous cakes and afternoon choices. Just very noisy and difficult to communicate. Music was horrible, intrusive and much too loud.could not identify the music - just unpleasant banging of base. Whole atmosphere very noisy.

Delightful breakfast with a stunning view

Lovely food and nice staff. Breakfast is a regular choice. Worth arriving early to ensure a table as it is a popular place. I believe tables can be reserved so I’d recommend doing that for anything past 10am especially on a Saturday.

Excellent food. Good range of options on the menu, including the beef chasseur special. All day breakfasts looked tenpting. Service was quick and friendly. Great farm shop attached and lovely views over to the Tyndale monument.

Terrible place gets worse ever time i try it. My wife went there , ordered a jacket potato, but when eating found over half was grey. First lady was rubbish, just looked at my wife. Could i have another one please my wife asked. Then a young man brought the potato back on the plate and said its only half grey whats the matter with that.... glad i was not there. Dissgusting attitude by any member of staff. Do not go ever again there are so many others.

Best experience for a long time

Miserable what I assume is the host from previous reviews. Very unwelcoming. Do you not want any customers, maybe it is the fact we aren’t locals? Unfriendly, do not go here, go somewhere that treats you like they need your custom and is friendly. Not nice walking in somewhere and people staring. This is how to make your small business fail and let corporations win.

Love this place always great food and service

Been a few times to the Farmer’s Table cafe and usually never disappointed. I had one of the specials - BLT Baguette, chips and salad and partner had Chicken burger, chips with coleslaw. Enjoyed our meals. We decided to buy two slices of Bakewell to take away and we were overcharged for them. Marked as £3 per slice but bloke (long hair) on the till insisted they were £3.25. Couldn’t be bothered to argue for the sake of 50p

This is a very pleasant eatery. Plain menu but very well presented. A nice place to meet up with friends or family.

5 mins from Junction 14 M5, situated on Tortworth Estate, found in the latest edition of "The Extra Mile" guide book, not well signposted and there are 2 car parks with 1 right next to the cafe, not v large inside but has big terrace with superb views, interesting menu with 3 specials, we ate veg oven bake and ham, eggs and chips, all v tasty and large portions, all the other food coming out looked v good as did the cakes. V convenient from the M5 and we will revisit

As always amazing food coupled with outstanding service! Food is always cooked to order, fresh & all items of outstanding quality. The prices are extremely good too. Service always with a smile & a friendly welcome no matter how busy it is & believe me, this little gem of a place is always extremely busy! Have been coming here for last couple of years & we never leave disappointed either by the quality of the food, the staff or the cleanliness! Excellent doesn’t do this place justice!

Great lunch today - extensive menu, clean facilities and lovely hot fresh food. Good value for money. Good selection of home made cakes. Friendly staff. Afterwards, we had a stroll in the well stocked farm shop.

Well after coming away, and looking at the latest reviews I now see why it had only 3 tables of couples there. We were ignored as we walked in and passed a young person behind the desk. We sat at a table and again ignored by the waiter. We tried to make contact after some time, to be told “menus at the front and order from the desk “… we thought, you know what, they don’t deserve our time or money and walked out! We won’t be back and we are locals.

Walked in and walked out again after about 5 minutes…! Tables and the floor were filthy, wasps attracted near the windows which looked dirty and sticky, poor menu choices with extremely expensive prices, rude and miserable looking staff. We didn’t even bother to order as we were so shocked with the lack of service and the atmosphere. Not once were we acknowledged by any member of staff and they didn’t even seem to want to put in the effort to keep paying customers! I’ve tried this place multiple times to see if it improves but it’s just worse. The whole place needs a revamp, needs to be newly decorated, needs new staff who are keen, enthusiastic and attentive. Won’t be returning - would give 0 stars if it was an option.

Three of us sat outside on the Patio and ordered the (large) Tortworth Breakfast (£9.75) two with Poached eggs and one with a fried egg. (There was a choice of Egg options including scrambled). .These weren't 'big breakfasts'. In fact, they were a bit mealy. One very tasty Sausage, nicely cooked, one slice of Back Bacon, a large and very crispy looking Hash Brown, some fresh, nicely cooked Mushrooms, Heinz Baked Beans and a round of Toast (white or granary). The toast was piled on top of the breakfast and the Tabs of Butter were placed on the toast, melting in their foil wrapper. There was nowhere to spread the butter on the toast as they didn't provide side plates and the wrapper from the sugar blew away in the wind as we had nowhere to put the waste. Sadly all the eggs were over cooked and hard. I ordered Black pudding as an extra (£1.40) but they forgot to add it to my meal and brought it on a separate plate, after I had finished eating. I declined to accept it and the server took it back, later returning and putting 60 pence on the table without a word of apology. It was the service that let this place down. The staff were at best uninterested and their lack of enthusiasm was plainly demonstrated. They appeared to slap the meals down on the table. When the drinks came (a metal pot of tea that actually burnt my finger as i tried to pour) we asked for sugar and we were told to help ourselves from a counter in the Cafe. The servers didn't offer to bring it to us. The tea was good and strong with Milk provided in a small jug. The view from this patio was very impressive and on a lovely sunny morning like today it was a great place to sit, but we wont be coming back. I usually dont leave bad reviews prefering instead to say nothing rather than criticise but today warranted a mention. At these prices you expect reasonable service, good presentation and a reasonably sized Breakfast but I'm afraid this place failed on almost every level.

Delicious breakfast, excellent quality food. Service was great with friendly and helpful staff. The place was clean with all tables wiped down after use. Other items on the menu (and on other tables) looked great. We’ll definitely return, maybe for lunch next time. Entrance is via the farm shop which had a great selection of quality food including a lot of local items. There’s ample parking, both in the main car park and the overflow.

Decent place with spectacular views!

My mistake was not sitting down first and looking at the menus. We ordered two large Americans and toast. We asked for honey but told it was not available but to chose one of those small jars which was an extra £1 on top of the £2.50 for two pieces of shop bought cheap slices bread. So it cost £9.50 for the 2 coffees and one round of toast with the jam. I can go to another coffee shop locally and get the same including lots of honey for £6. We have been a few times and do cycle with groups but shall not be back in a hurry.

Went for breakfast on a Saturday. Good value, tasty food. Friendly staff and very popular. If you are nearby it's worth a visit. The adjacent farm shop/butchers is superb.

Took my autistic granddaughter for breakfast ordered food came then they decided to open the doors we were then invaded by wasps, I complained as we could not eat the food my granddaughter was terrified, asked for my money back as food untouched wasps all over it, they said what do you expect your in the country, would you like a doggie bag, I will never go there ever again no duty of care, bad attitudes

The change in the full-english since I was last here a year ago was staggering. Both the quality of the ingredients and the quantity being offered had plummeted, and the accompanying 'coffee' could only be described as a weak, insipid brown liquid. On previous visits to England a breakfast was one of the highlights, but now this was the most expensive, smallest, and least satisfying breakfast experienced during the whole fortnight. When I tried talking to the staff about this at the time I was met with a wall of indifference. I have no idea if the same penny-pinching approach has affected rest of their menu - I didn't feel like returning to find out.

Lovely food and great setting and you can have dogs on the terrace which is good. Just a shame about the rude guy that works there, puts me off returning.

Lovely views, lovely food. Decking and patio area could do with a revamp or at least a tidy up as there was lots of debris on the floor. Only other personal criticism would be staff chewing gum while serving. 12/07/22

Great food, good value and great location

Went for breakfast on Saturday 11 June waited 45 minutes for our breakfast and to be honest we have been here previously and food was lovely - on this occasion the standard of food was awful, all over cooked - we couldn’t have a poached egg even though offered on the menu. Terrible probability of returning would be a Zero. I gave a 2 star as the waitress was lovely.

Small out of the way farm shop with a really lovely café - the cream tea looks fantastic! Quite small inside but there's more room outside, and the view is spectacular.

A really excellent breakfast. Cooked to perfection. Good size. Quick and friendly service. There a lot of good brunches out there but this one is the top of the lot. Excellent range of cakes on offer.. And on a good day, sitting outside with the amazing view towards the Wotton tops it off. Highly recommended.

Hired for parents diamond wedding anniversary. All had a good time. Lovely, helpful staff.

Walked a couple of miles from the campsite we were at , bought some delicious produce from the shop then decided to have lunch . Sat outside what a lovely view. Had chicken coronation and mango chutney sandwiches . Dog friendly. Over all very happy .

Lovely little Market Shop, and Cafe. Went today to meet my Niece for catch up. Had toast and Latte for Breakfast, and I also had a slice of Bakewell tart, beautifully soft, obviously fresh today! Super views over the Glos countryside, popular spot for cyclists. Come here quite a bit, and highly recommend it

Me and a friend went for afternoon tea a few weeks back. The food is absolutely lovely however we were placed on a table which was infested with wasps. There were about 20 dead ones under our feet and we had to constantly brush them off the table and our food. It did spoil it for us.

Second time ive been in there staff are vile! The lady basically huffed when we walked in! The man who took our order was just rude and blunt the same man didnt say a single word at the counter when i went to pay just...

The worst service ever. Staff took 15 minutes to come and take my order. I ordered a cup of tea and a teacake. The teacake arrived after another ten minutes, but no tea. I thought it would arrive shortly so didn't chase up. Eventually I went to pay and was ignored for five minutes whilst the girl fiddled about on the till. Rude. I explained that the tea didn't arrive and just paid for the teacake. No apology from the girl, she was surly and quite dismissive. Because of this I asked to see the manager, who also made me wait another ten minutes before bothering to speak with me. Awful. I won't be returning
