Caspian Fish Bar in South Gloucestershire

Extremely generous portions of delicious hot food. Visiting nearby so delighted it was such good grub. Nice traditional family run place. If anything portions were too big even for us with BIG appetites. We will return and recommend to our son who lives nearby. We had large fish and chips (enough for two people) and regular sausage and chips with curry sauce. FABULOUS.

Shop always looks super clean. Food also tastes really good. Chips serving is amazing for the money. There is no other chip shop around that gives so much food (chips) for the money. Definitely recommend it if super hungry and fancy a treat.

The people seem friendly enough, but the chips were gritty like the potatoes hadn’t been washed. The Jumbo sausage had an unusual consistency. Didn’t enjoy, binned and got a Subway instead. Shame…

Overcharged my card. Not cheap to begin with either.

Waited 15 minutes for a bag of chips when could easily of been served 5 minutes earlier. Chips were OK but nothing special. Probably won't be going back.

I ordered a large kebab, all salad and chilli sauce. I've eaten kebabs all over this country and this was the worst I've had. Most of the meat was burnt on the edges. Pitta was soggy. Never again.

Another excellent visit, good freshly cooked fish and chips. Polite friendly service.

Disgusting food the pie was rock hard you could tell it was reheated many times and left in the hot plate for a while. Few years ago it used to be good but now appalling quality would not recommend.

We have bought food from here and had never been disappointed, but last night it was disgusting, the chips were cold and the Clark's pie was so dry we couldnt cut it, very disappointed, it went in the bin 🥺

Los mejores chips del mundo sin duda. Paré aquí el domingo por la noche, las patatas fritas fueron las mejores que he probado. Visited twice now and don't rate it much. The first time was just after a change of management, the second time was a while later in the hope it had got better but sadly it hadn't. The chips are not good.

Best fish and chips I've had! Portions are a good size and the prices are really good. Always freshly cooked and quick service. After discovering this shop recently I now travel past many other chip shops just to go to this one. 10/10 reccomend!

Great food great service really nice people

My go to chip shop. In honesty, quality and size can vary but I NEVER am let down. Portion varies from "Huge" to "Gigantic". Quality varies from "Greasy" (I love these "old school chips" tbh) to great. The kebabs are IMMENSE and fresh, good selection of salad and sauces. Highly recommended. (Wife also tells me the fish is very good too). I've been to a lot of chippies and you just can't beat this place... unless you are a trendy panini eater or something (pffft).

Food is great don't get me wrong but if you offer card payment then you cannot set a minimum payment.Caspian set a £5 minimum card payment which I'm pretty sure is illegal....

We decided to have a bit of a stroll today and go into the caspian. We just had chips but they were well cooked and tasty. Both felt very full and that was a small bag. I’ve had the big before for sharing and remember thinking it’s like they filled s pillow case. Only downside is ketchup packet is 30p. Way too dear and please we are responsible adults. We can put on our own salt and vinegar.

I buy there fish n chips there only.

Not been here for over a year now and it used to be ok so popped in for a kebab. I ended up with cold dry dry dry over cooked meat. Like strips of card. The only thing i can think of is it must of been reheated a few times. Not in any rush to spend my hard earned here again.

Amazing portion sizes and quite reasonably priced too. All fish cooked to order. Very consistent in food quality and service. Nice variety of choices on the menu. Haddock and chips is to die for (haddock often bigger than cod which is why I go for it!) Quite often busy on an evening but staff are efficient and friendly. Cannot go wrong with Caspian

The food and portions are mad as hell. If you really hungry looking for generous portions this is the place to be. The fish and chips is a killer huge fish 🐠 Shame they don't do deliveries,but they sooooo busy their, most deffientley would have to hire more staff to get orders out.

A GREAT FISH AND CHIP BAR TAKEAWAY, Best cod and chips in Bristol, its a family own business,very nice people and great service,and it not just fish and chip they serve other foods as well,,But I always order the cod and chips and that's what this review is about ,the cod is always cooked to order and the chip portions are huge good price too, I drive there after work or a day off always great quality food and service, I have been to a lot a fish and chips bars in the UK and this is one of the best i was a chef for 14 years so i think i know what i am talking about ,TRY THERE COD AND CHIPS GREAT FOOD AND SERVICE AT A GOOD PRICE.

Probably the best in town. No dodgy beer batter with triple cooked nonsense, just back to basics with an epic portion of good fish and chips with salt and vinegar
