Amazing we didn’t have a reservation and were lucky to be seated, in fact people were turned away after we sat down. The food was sublime, highly recommend the trio of pork and the sticky toffee pudding is easily one of the best we have EVER eaten anywhere. All the staff were attentive and friendly and made us feel very welcome. The complimentary lemoncello was a wonderful treat. Can’t wait until we come back to Looe first job book a table here !!

This is a cosy café serving full English and light bites which is off the beaten track and therefore not on everyone's radar. However, if you are up around St Martin's Village, then this place, located off the green with plenty of parking literally yards away, is well worth a visit. The eating room is clean, the staff are very polite and the food is excellent and not too pricey. The only minor point could be the background music which seems to be permanently on a vintage radio channel but if that doesn't bother you, then dropping in is highly recommended.

First time here and have to say the food was first class. I’ll go as far to say this was probably my best fillet steak I have ever had. Lovely cosy old building down a side street steeped in history. So glad we chose to eat here. Bravo

Excellent food and service. The food was delicious, really tasty and good portion size. We are a family of 7 and there was ample space for us to sit in the lovely courtyard. It was a welcome quiet space off the main busy street in the height of summer.

Open very early in fore street, which is the main road through Looe. Each time we visit, we are greeted by extremely friendly staff, who are so efficient and professional and courteous. Our drinks and pastries were built to the table, and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Sarah, you are a credit to the Cornish bakery company! Cannot recommend this little café highly enough! Try the Italian hot chocolate, it’s extremely thick and perfect for dunking a croissant into! Delicious pasties, bacon and cheese wraps and croissants.

Called here for lunch. Jacket potato £10 plus £1 for filling. I ordered one with Tuna mayo - the potato skin was hard and inedible, the tuna mayo was ok. Hubby had ham and cheese panini, he said it was very bland. £31 for these with a soft drink each. We waited to speak to someone but they were busy and hubby wasn’t feeling well. The cakes served to the people on the next table looked lovely. We won’t be returning nor do we recommend.

Ben’s Plaice has been recommended a couple of times by friends . The first time we went , it was just before closing and was served an over cooked piece of cod . The second time , our credit card was charged twice (£61 each time ) and Lisa the manager was extremely rude to us when we queried . Refused a refund and have to go back to discuss with Ben . We went back into the shop to get a fork only to hear Lisa bad mouthing my family . Unfortunately to make matters worse , my fish and chips wasn’t very good , chips were soggy and again the cod was over cooked . Ended up throwing mine in the bin

I don’t understand some of the previous reviews - the haddock was beautifully cooked with a very thin and crispy batter, the chips were soft inside and crispy outside and the tea was obviously made by someone who actually drinks tea! Great lunch spot.

We have visited The Old Boathouse twice in last few days for a couple of alcoholic beverages. Very friendly and welcoming family team. Lovely riverside setting, seating overlooking the quay. A bonus with the sun coming out. Would certainly recommend a visit.

We visited several times over our week in town. This place has amazing food and despite some of the reviews saying otherwise we found the service friendly and efficient. Everything is cooked fresh to order so there is going to be a wait during busy times. I had the poached eggs and avocado on granary ( several times) an amazing goats cheese salad , waffles and coffee that were both delicious. We also called for drinks too and love the fact you can watch the world go by as you sit outside. We will be back next time we are in Cornwall .
