This is a cosy café serving full English and light bites which is off the beaten track and therefore not on everyone's radar. However, if you are up around St Martin's Village, then this place, located off the green with plenty of parking literally yards away, is well worth a visit. The eating room is clean, the staff are very polite and the food is excellent and not too pricey. The only minor point could be the background music which seems to be permanently on a vintage radio channel but if that doesn't bother you, then dropping in is highly recommended.

We came and ate breakfast here this morning, 11th March. Breakfast unfortunately wasn’t the best, over cooked and took a long time to come out and we were the only customers at the time. However the meals usually are very good and the server Louise was very accommodating, helpful and polite, couldn’t have done more for us and because of this, I am overall satisfied with my experience today and usually never have an issue with the food here.

What a find! Sadly we only wanted coffee and cake, the whole menu looked absolutely delicious! Perfect cappuccino, which is a rare find! We had 4 different cakes, each one was superb. Would definitely return, yum! I did try uploading photos, but it wouldn't work. Then I totally forgot that I was mid review, sorry. So this was a genuine visit in November, when we were on holiday. Lovely friendly staff, and the whole menu looked delicious. Slightly tucked away, so I hope lots of people seek you out! Wishing you a prosperous Holiday Season, hope we can visit again in November 25

Ben’s Plaice has been recommended a couple of times by friends . The first time we went , it was just before closing and was served an over cooked piece of cod . The second time , our credit card was charged twice (£61 each time ) and Lisa the manager was extremely rude to us when we queried . Refused a refund and have to go back to discuss with Ben . We went back into the shop to get a fork only to hear Lisa bad mouthing my family . Unfortunately to make matters worse , my fish and chips wasn’t very good , chips were soggy and again the cod was over cooked . Ended up throwing mine in the bin

I took my little sister and nephew out for the day in Looe and knew the only place I wanted to eat at was The Cornish Bakery. Not only is it located in the center of town so great space to sit back, relax and enjoy the atmosphere the food and beverages are 10/10. The kids enjoyed the freshly homemade sausage rolls and I fell in love with the homemade carrot cake, beautifully bouncy and delicious with a great balance of sultana‘s and carrots. Along with our mouth watering food I paired my cake with a professionally prepared and made vanilla cappuccino. We left to soak up the gorgeous sun all full and highly satisfied with both the food and the service we received.!!!!!!

First off my impression was Dottys is super friendly and efficient. We were immediately met at the door with a welcome and told what was unavailable for lunch. That was fine as we had come due to recommendations on the find me gluten free app about the gluten free scones! We had burnt off the calories already walking the coast path so felt justified! Food and drinks arrived very quickly. Husband enjoyed his plain scone with cream and jam and coffee and I enjoyed my lovely warmed gluten free fruit scone and tea. Sadly no dairy free cream to enjoy with it. And as someone who likes jam the little jars of jam are not really big enough. It would be cheaper surely to use catering jam and decant into little dishes that way you could provide larger quantities. Anyway just a thought. We still had a lovely time and would recommend. Sorry I had already eaten half my scone before I took photo 🤦♀️ I was so hungry🤣

We have visited The Old Boathouse twice in last few days for a couple of alcoholic beverages. Very friendly and welcoming family team. Lovely riverside setting, seating overlooking the quay. A bonus with the sun coming out. Would certainly recommend a visit.

i’m not one to pick a bone but £14 for a burger of poorer quality than fast food :( & “loaded fries” that had a sprinkle of cheese & a couple bits of meat.. not impressed. everywhere else was packed so we went here in hopes of a nice meal.. but way over priced and not very tasty. the staff were unfriendly and barely looked at us when taking our order and seemed to be whispering while we ate. ordered milkshakes for dessert and they were delicious though. the food however was overpriced & i would not go back.

We stayed in Looe for a week and went into the Saluation for a drink. The atmosphere is very cosy and relaxed, the staff friendly and very attentive, especially to our two border collies. We returned later in the week to eat, we had the lamb hotpot and chicken pie, both of which were excellent. Would definitely recommend a visit.
