The best restaurants serving British food in Cheltenham South West

We were at Andi Oliver’s book launch about her traditional cooking , there were 165 covers all being served at more or less the same time and you could tell as everything was overcooked or dried out , there was also a “service” charge added to our bottle of wine, the girl didn’t know how to do it without……they didn’t pour the wine so no actual “service” we were lucky enough to have a banquet seat but others were perched on barstools on small high tables !

Another good JDW. Loved the beer. Ultimate burger is always the same and good value.

The worse place to go if you think that you are in a safe place. The security are just there to ensure that they ruin your experience. I have reported them to the police.

Very disappointed by our experience at this restaurant. Booked a table for 8, turned up promptly and were left waiting at the desk for ten minutes before anyone came to take us to our table. Were left at our table waiting for a member of staff to take our order whilst other staff were milling about cleaning tables that were not in use for the rest of the evening, prioritising customers who wanted to pay whilst seemingly ignoring us. When we were finally attended to we the had to wait another twenty minutes for starters to arrive, then had to ask for our drinks as they had not yet been delivered. Food was okay but the unattentiveness of the staff made our experience less than we would have expected. All in all the whole experience was a negative one and I would be very reluctant to give Harvester any more of my custom. A very poor service, steer clear of this restaurant.

Lovely menu and great food and wine. This was my third visit, I try and go each time I’m in Cheltenham. Disappointingly the service was really slow this time. It wouldn’t put me off going back though

Spoons breakfast is always worth it

Food all. Looked the same and greasy very local to where I live but was quite busy staff very polite but food not up to scratch

Didn't hold up much hope, and must say it was as bad as I'd thought. Only good thing was that I got served super quickly
