The Redgrove Harvester in Cheltenham

Very pleasant and helpful staff. Diane our server was excellent. Hubby had mixed grill and it was perfectly cooked as was my medium rare rump steak. The only fault was the onion rings were cool and not very apitising. The salad bar was excellent. Service good and very pleasant mixed couples,business and family atmosphere. We would return.

Abbie was a great host very attentive kids meals were good, and kids pudding was make it your own sundae which was great. Downside - my salad was inedible lots of chilli and the chicken was rock hard. Ribs were dry as a bone. But we would come again just order different food!

We were unable to book online so we went anyway. The "receptionist" advised that when they are busy they just disable online booking, they don't just show a period as full!! We agreed to wait 40 minutes but were told they did not call people when the table was available, we had to check again - Not a good start. After the initial 40 minute wait, there was a further delay of 10 minutes before anyone came to our table, then a further 20 minutes (which was reasonable) for the food to arrive. The salad bar looked like it had been attacked by a plague of locusts and there were several people who had been waiting for some time for it to be replenished. there was no bread. They were unable to provide mashed potatoes only chips or jacket potatoes which indicates how the mash is produced. The salmon was overcooked and dry - the "chef" must have worked incredibly hard to make it so inedible. Somewhere I will not be visiting again!

Awful breakfast with Santa. We visited with family for breakfast with Santa- Santa had an elastic beard, dirty trainers and a cheap suit. The present was a few bits of paper and a Kit Kat (and paper bits say things like copyright x y z as if Santa would have that!). Thankfully my son was too little to understand. To say that the highlight of my visit here was the salad bar ( which you do yourself) sums this place up. This establishment must rate as possibly one of the worst place I’ve ever dined. Cold, unappealing food served by staff more intent on playing around with each other than they are with customer service. The title sums it up- seven if you ‘drive through’ KFC and eat in your car you’ll have a better experience.

Stopped for impromptu lunch on journey back from Good Food show. Not been to a Harvester for years, and not disappointed. Excellent food and good value for money. Harvester, Cheltenham. Sorry, but that was the worst Turkey I have ever been given anywhere; it was tough, as was the bacon with it. I chose the festive menu, the rest of the meal was fine, and my guest's meals were also good. I did tip our waitress who took great care of us, I also complained to her about the Turkey. I go there often and this is my only complaint, we will be going there again, but until I hear that the Turkey is acceptable from another guest, I won't choose that dish again.
