Great visit - enjoyed our meals - rooms could do with a huge upgrade - they’re quite dated but clean - see you again

service was slow and unprofessional. they kept forgetting and never comminated with co workers. The scenary was nice and well done however service was very poor.

We recently stayed at the Hunters Hall for a two night stay. Our time spent at the hotel was very enjoyable and the staff were all very helpful. We ate in the restaurant on both nights and the foods was very good. The location is lovely. The room was very clean with plenty of hot water.

Staff friendly, and always accommodating. Ordering is easy either table service or bar service. Place has a goof sized car park and is easily to navigate to and notice from the roadside. Dog welcoming and lovely log fires.

Lovely place to stay, evening meal was nice and reasonably priced. Breakfast amazing apart from our last day. Don't think it was the normal chef, over half hour wait for breakfast , only 2 of us there.. cleaners hoovering around us, they kept drinking tea/coffee which was for the guests. One suddenly noticed we were there disappeared into the kitchen 5 mins later our breakfast was served. Dry, rubbery, not hot, unpleasant to be honest.. however the cleaners then all returned with plates full of english cooked full breakfast and sat and began to eat .. think we had leftovers!!! We got up and left to get our belongings. I returned to the reception to make a complaint but no staff appeared even when I rang the bell as advised to get attention. Saying this I would return and i would stand my ground if any problems occurred again. But I do hope upon reading this they may have conversations with the early morning staff.

We went for dinner this evening having never been before and had heard good things about it. We ordered drinks but that was wrong and just the start of it. Having ordered starters they arrived and were lovely - the sharing nachos were brilliant and the halloumi was good too. When the mains arrived the Mac and cheese was congealed and stodgy. The rump steak was chewy and the sauce could’ve hung wallpaper. They were served with a side salad/garnish but it was a poor excuse for a side salad or a garnish. We were pretty much left alone until they eventually cleared the dishes and then disappeared again - no coming back to ask if we wanted dessert or tea/coffee. Maybe they were having an off day but I’m not sure we would chance another visit.

Fantastic service from the staff when our car key was being difficult. Lovely cosy old pub with great atmosphere. We really enjoyed our lunch too!

Chloe and Emma were fantastic with a busy evening rush! The food was lush, the mac and cheese in particular was delicious! Would 100% recommend a visit!

We stayed here as it was close to the wedding venue we were attending.It looks lovely from the outside but the rooms are so old fashioned and decoration was just awful,,like a real tacky b&b.The breakfast service was terrible,tepid coffee when there was actually any there,had to ask,same with orange juice,that’s when she actually came into the restaurant had to find her,wrong order,again just ate it as the waitress wasn’t around and didn’t want to wait another 30 mins for food,,need to sack the chef,eggs not cooked,burnt toast,ask for white toast you get brown,really annoying,the waitress wasn’t around just not interested,clearly not enjoying her job,when we went to pay,she took the money and said I’m doing everything,so clearly not enough staff! I’m glad I didn’t spend any more time than I needed too there and definitely not stay again,the rooms are absolutely desperate for a makeover!!!

Visited today to celebrate my Wife’s birthday with a group of ten of us and the food was absolutely fantastic and the staff went absolutely above and beyond to make it a great experience. I highly recommend you visit and enjoy the same welcome, great food and service we did. 11/10

Set in fields, next to a lovely atmospheric would be Buddhist centre. Great ice cream especially the coconut and vanilla, friendly and helpful staff, recommended

Went here for a family meal on Sunday. On arrival we were quite impressed with the menu and the prices were very reasonable, so things were looking great. I ordered the hunters chicken, and as soon as it came I was disappointed with the presentation and the portion size of my chicken & the chips on the side. As soon as I started to eat, it was obvious that the chicken was pre-prepared and was so overcooked that I couldn't get my knife through it, even with with considerable force, so unfortunately I had to send it straight back. My meal was replaced with no question but by the time it came out again, everyone else had nearly finished. Again, the second plate came and it honestly looked like I had ordered from the children's menu, the portions were so small. My partner & her aunt both ordered the 'minted' lamb shank. The lamb was very well cooked and really tender but there wasn't a hint of mint in either dish so they were both lacking flavour. A lot of very mediocre, pre-prepared food and I left the place still feeling hungry. I can't comment for every member of the family but I found the whole experience rather disappointing after driving 1hr 45 mins each way from South Wales. I won't be going back to Hunters Hall.

Stayed here last Saturday as attending a wedding nearby ,a couple of observations👀 when we arrived the room was like a greenhouse 🥵so manually turned it down but upon arriving back after the evening ceremony was absolutely baltic 🥶and no option to adjust anything 😬hope this is a useful review

Beautiful building and setting although a drive to location - visited for pre Christmas catch with old friend - hadn't been there for a few years but usually Green King chain is of a certain standard food wise... that wasn't the case on this occasion. Place wasn't very busy but service was sadly lacking and at no point did anyone enquire if we were happy with our meal. I wasn't. Treated myself to a steak and only ate a few mouthfuls as was very chewy and not enjoyable. Had a few other issues which spoiled the occasion and I mentioned to the staff and Georgia kindly came and sorted things which I appreciated but still wouldn't recommend going for the food. Great to go take in the building and have a pint or two though!

An amazing quaint little bar and hotel, it’s wonderfully cozy, the open fire, friendly staff make this place truly worth a visit. The hotel rooms are great, fantastically priced. The food was excellent, and the drink selection was plentiful. I can’t think of a negative, if you’re looking for a quick stop somewhere in the area, I can’t recommend this enough.

Took kids to the Santa breakfast, limited options on the menu for fussy children, disappointed with the effort put into Santa, had a visible nose piercing and beard was falling off, would not recommend, my 5 year old was left questioning why Father Christmas looked like that! It wasn’t cheap and was very disappointing.

I came to visit for breakfast with santa with my 3 children 2, 5 and 7. I'm afraid the experience was not at all as imagined. Santa was late, beard was falling off and my 5 and 7 year old even noticed straight away he was not the 'real santa' he had a nose ring in and his beard would not stay up. Unfortunately this really ruined our experience and I had to try to explain to them that santa has helpers tow help him visit all the children but this has completely put me off. My christmas and the magic was very nearly completely ruined from a santa visit that quite frankly was not cheap or worth the money. It cost me around £60 and the food was also not up to standard considering the adult breakfast was £10.99 and I wasn't given a menu just told the big breakfast was available...

The pub itself is stunning with its open fires and stone walls. Staff very helpful and polite. Room a little dated but had everything we needed very comfy bed. Breakfast was lovely we had it included but if you dont its only £12 for anything you like off the menu pastries muffins also includes tea coffee orange juice cereal (refills) absolute bargain. Beautiful surroundings and views. Would definitely stay here again.

The visit was amzing, from there service, to the drinks, and spectacular food (Sunday Roast) in particular. The employees are very nice and helpful. Aswell as the local people within as they had found my wallet and returned it. Overall 10/10.

Absolutely brilliant pub and restaurant, the staff are amazingly helpful. One of the very few establishments I’ve been too that I can not fault. Very large beer garden with a small play area that kept the kids busy. Would 100% recommend.

Good sized parking with ease for wheelchair and those who are less able. Beautiful location and the premises is welcoming. Booking in at reception was easy and quick, and rooms allocated quickly. Accessing the rooms was straightforward and hassle free, approaching the main building was clean and tidy and quiet. Our room and all 7 of us had no issues whatsoever with our rooms allocated and quickly settled to head to the restaurant. The Bar and restaurant area was warm and welcoming and also cater for pets with enough water bowls placed around the Bar area. Service was quick and we were taken to an area for seating by friendly staff. We arrived at a busy time and were expected a long wait but staff were checking in regularly. Menu was a fantastic addition to what already felt like a heart warming experience with real log fires and comfortable seating. A great choice of meals with reasonable prices, orders were taken and everything arrived with no issues. Meals took around 10 minutes to arrive but it’s a busy and popular place so waiting wasn’t an issue and expected given the amount of people dining there. Breakfast was another fantastic experience for us, well cooked and tasted delicious, good selection and arrived quickly. Overall experience was excellent and would recommend and pet friendly also. Clean areas rooms were also great and food. Will look forward to returning at some point in the future and would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff for the hospitality and welcome we received and wish them all the best.

Went for a birthday lunch. All of the staff were lovely, couldn't have been more attentive. We were a large group and were well looked after for food and drinks. There was a slight delay with one of the meals and they were so apologetic. Easy to find and plenty of parking so a great option for us with people coming from different directions. I drive past regularly when visiting family and seeing how dog friendly they are and how quickly the food and drinks came we will definitely stop for a meal in the future as its a much better option than fast food.

We have over the years had several family occasion meals at The Hunters Hall. The most recent was to celebrate my father's 100th birthday. Dad still remembers celebrating his aunt's wedding at The Hunters Hall when in he was about 3 years old. This time, we were a group of 15 and everyone enjoyed their meals. I particularly liked my steak with oozy boozy cheese sauce. All the staff were so friendly and attentive. Many thanks for your part in making Dad's special day so memorable.

When we arrived we were met with a beautiful building in typical cotswolds style. Has a beautiful open fire and 2 bars. Staff are attentive. Food prices reasonable. Our room was clean and very characteristic. We will visit again.

Had my husband's 70th birthday meal here recently. We all had a lovely meal, served quickly and all appeared at the same time. A lovely congenital atmosphere, we had the snug area to ourselves. All in all a great evening, reasonably priced menu.

Fabulous service food and beer.

Me, my husband and my Mother spent 2 nights here - 29th and 31st October. Al of the staff were very friendly, especially Laura who was on Reception the evening we arrived. I needed a shower mat for my Mum's room and she went out of her way to find one in departments she wasn't particularly familiar with. Everyone including the General Manager greeted us and engaged I conversation with us. Our daughter, who was to get married on 30th October, her husband to be and their bridesmaids/ grooms persons, joined us for dinner. In all there were 12 of us. The food, service and value for money were amazing!

My partner and I had a wonderful meal here on a busy Saturday evening. Staff were very helpful as we hadn't booked but managed to fit us in when I enquired. Our meal was superb ! Big shout out to the kitchen staff.I can highly recommend eating here as we have been several times and the meals have been first class.

Had a lovely family pub lunch here. Lovely friendly staff and quick service. Delicious food, vegan options that weren't just salad which is a big plus. My chickless katsu was a little overcooked so that's why not 5* but other than that fresh ingredients and lovely atmosphere. Could actually talk at a normal voice level and be heard which is always a positive. And a lovely warming fire to keep us all warm for lunch. Would recommend and definitely would come again.

Turned up and waited with another customer who actually went to find a member of staff to serve at the bar. The member of front of house staff took our drinks order but couldn't pour the drinks as she was underage so we were seated and waited 10 minutes for the drinks to arrive. Food order taken we drank our drinks and bought some more in person at the bar and once again had to wait for someone to pour them. Over an hour has passed and other tables have been served. We approached one of the only two members severing front of house to be told the food would be with us shortly. They offered free drinks due to the wait but as we had only just bought them and we're driving we had to decline. 1.5 hours in total from entering the pub to being served food. My wife ordered a salad but was served a wrap...didn't want to say anything due to the wait we had already incurred. Paid the bill, asked for discount but we're told no because they had offered us. Inadequate staff to cope with volume of orders. Overall experience extremely poor. Had visited previously 4 months ago to be told there was a 50 minute wait for food. Hoped that this was a one off....but clearly not. Would definitely not recommend, and will not be returning especially as we've actually now realised we've been overcharged (salad v wrap)

Family gathering for a nearby wedding, I stayed at the hotel and dined in the restaurant. My room was small but comfortable, exterior surfaces appeared clean. I used the bedside cupboard to store some shirts, upon pulling them out next day I found a thick layer of dust on the shirts and could visibly see where my shirts had "cleaned" the cupboard shelf. The restaurant menu looked appealing so we dined in. We ordered the risotto based on a Google review photo. My order wasn't as nicely presented as the photo but the second risotto bared little resemblance; it looked like fish fillets atop soup. The risottos were edible if somewhat bland tasting. One of the teens had the buttermilk chicken burger. The presentation was good but the burger was overcooked brittle and inedible, the chips were OK. The best orders were the lamb shank; very tasty and tender, no complaints there and the kids meal for the toddler. He's somewhat fussy with food but this time ate everything on his plate. Breakfast was very good, no negative feedback regarding anything that was ordered. Finally service. Everyone we encountered was polite and accommodating. Overall a pleasant stay.

I visited for a bike night being held there, it was a great night.

Great location for several wedding venues in the area, but sadly now a very tired pub/hotel which needs a complete renovation, rooms simple and clean, TV is too tiny for room, it would have been a simple thing for cleaner to wash tea/coffee cups out each day instead of leaving them dirty !! very noisy if wedding venue across the road is in full swing until after 12. Our manager and the staff were very accommodating, jovial and helpful, food is very good and the breakfast is excellent , this could be a fab place to stay just needs alot of TLC Greenking !! If renovated I would stay again but not in its present state …..

We had a lovely family reunion where Doug, Lauren and the team took great care of us. They catered for all 18 of us including the usual regulars and walk ins and handled everything perfectly Breakfast, a buffet lunch and dinner were all delicious and there was something for everyone. Looking forward to another family get together at the Hunters Hall Inn. Thanks everyone for looking after us

Went here for Sunday lunch portions were very skimpy on the meat. So the location was great but the food overall was very average chain food

I stayed in the family room at Hunters Hall and I'd happily go back. Everything I needed was there. The room was clean, and the cleaners (Sarah and Amanda) were lovely. I've knocked the room down by one star, just because the room was a bit shabby and could do with a refresh and TLC. It was nothing that put me off, but I thought it worth mentioning.

Though we didn't get a chance to stay at Hunters Hall (it looked adorable) we wanted to thank the gentleman that helped us when we were there. My husband and I inadvertently booked the Inn only to discover that we were further from our final destination than we anticipated and realized that we wouldn't make the train, then our flight home if we had stayed. Thankfully the gentleman at the Inn understood our dilemma and allowed us to cancel without charging us. He certainly made our day. Thanks so very much!

Comfortable beds so slept well. Booking com messed booking up which didn't help but in a twin room with a disabled bathroom. Whole place but especially rooms very dated. Bathroom not good, bedroom window on road side hard to close for us, let alone if someone disabled had been in the room, filthy, over long nets. Room not serviced at all apart from replacing tea and milk sachets. Smallest flat screen tv ever. Free wifi good and hotel position good, but giant potholes on car park entrance need filling in.

**2nd Update** 8 months on and I still think I'm checked in.... disappointing to see that the hotel responds to positive posts but not those where customer's experiences haven't been so positive. It's such a shame as the accommodation was lovely, just the very poor communication and safety issues that let it all down. **Update** I emailed the hotel and the chain after our stay and have received no response which is very disappointing. This just reflects how the business feels about its customers and their safety. Such a shame. We had a lovely room and 2 night stay until we tried to get breakfast and checkout on our last morning which highlighted a safety issue. We stayed in rm 9 a lovely family room which is well thought out (although could benefit from a coffee table in my opinion!). It was warm, comfortable, and clean. Our first morning we had breakfast at the pub at 7am before heading off to an appointment. The 2nd morning however, we ran through the rain to get into the pub at 7am for breakfast (as confirmed with us at check-in and shown on the website in numerous places) but the pub was in darkness and no one around. We waited 35 minutes in our room getting ready for another appointment, risking children in smart clothing needing to still eat breakfast, but still no one to be seen in the pub. We then realised we needed to check out but couldn't as there was no staff present. As it was 0740 by this point I tried calling the emergency contact number affixed to the door but this was a dead line according to the automated message I heard. I tried again but it was definitely a number not in use anymore. How anyone would be able to contact the hotel overnight in an emergency I have no idea but not safe at all. In the end, we posted the key through the door and left a voicemail asking for someone to call to confirm we had been checked out. 2 weeks on and no call so I assume I'm still checked in at the hotel 🤷🏻‍♀️ All of this said, we would stay here again, but I would need to be assured the emergency number is live.

Fantastic olde worlde pub, feels very authentic, we stopped by during a walk and had a spot of lunch, service was great and the food was delicious along with a pint of ale. Thoroughly recommend and would pop in again if in the area.

We stopped here on the way to a wedding for a drink and a snack. We received a very warm and friendly welcome with fast service. We shared a fish goujon sandwich which was delicious. Exactly what we needed. Easy parking too.

We dropped in here whilst visiting the local National Trust property. Very dog and kid friendly. Food was quick and great value. Extra points for being able to buy a sausage for the dog!

Stayed for the week at the hunters hall due to a family function in the area. Lovely staff who were very attentive during our entire stay and with the wide range of food that meant I could try something different each night- the Asian curry with the added chicken was my favourite Would defintley recommend the hunters hall to anyone thinking about visiting the area

Had a lovely dinner and breakfast but stayed in our motorhome in carpark so can't comment on rooms. Staff very helpful and friendly, strange policy with breakfast as full breakfast menu only available to guests not to walk'ins.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Our room was clean, quiet and functional. The evening meals were impressive. I had the South East Asian Curry which was as good as any found in an Asian restaurant. My wife had the Mediterranean Vegetable Gnocchi which she thoroughly enjoyed. I’d highly recommend staying here.

I had an indulgent burger with onion rings side. First impressions were that it was a small portion on a very big plate. for a total of just over 18 quid. But totally enjoyed the meal . My wife had the Turkey roast. Which consists of parsnip carrot, broccoli, a very small gravey in a eggcup size bowl. Some frozen type roast potatoes and a large slab of stuffing. Just didn't do the service or style of pub justice. When you put it against a carvery roast it looks poor. Service and staff spot on the drinks were perfect. Will definitely go again, just needs to make greedy gits like me think how the hell am I going to eat all that.
