The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Our room was clean, quiet and functional. The evening meals were impressive. I had the South East Asian Curry which was as good as any found in an Asian restaurant. My wife had the Mediterranean Vegetable Gnocchi which she thoroughly enjoyed. I’d highly recommend staying here.

I had an indulgent burger with onion rings side. First impressions were that it was a small portion on a very big plate. for a total of just over 18 quid. But totally enjoyed the meal . My wife had the Turkey roast. Which consists of parsnip carrot, broccoli, a very small gravey in a eggcup size bowl. Some frozen type roast potatoes and a large slab of stuffing. Just didn't do the service or style of pub justice. When you put it against a carvery roast it looks poor. Service and staff spot on the drinks were perfect. Will definitely go again, just needs to make greedy gits like me think how the hell am I going to eat all that.

Went for lunch today, the food and service was really good, I had the Sausages and Mash which was delicious. Really good kids menu options, and the kids food must have been good as they ate all of it, which doesn't happen very often. Will definitely go back 👍

We called in here on a weekday lunchtime, and there was a good choice of food available. The meals were good but we had quite a wait for the food to arrive and there seemed to be only one person waiting on the tables. When we left, we asked for the bill and then had to wait 10 minutes for someone to appear to take payment. No apology for keeping us waiting. Needless to say, we didn't leave a tip!

Comfortable clean room which was a good size. It was very warm when we entered but that of course was easily remedied. The accommodation and the evening meal was reasonably priced, drinks were more expensive than I am use to but perhaps it was the norm for this area. Over all I would definitely recommend hunters hall.

Stopped here for a spot on lunch on spec and found a cosy, welcoming pub with a great drinks selection. Wanted a lighter lunch so were a little disappointed that the Brunch Menu wasn't being served but finally settled on the Steak Sandwich on the Main Menu seemed to fit the bill. Very disappointing as the steak was very grisly and the chips were luke warm. We returned the food and were offered a replacement (which we declined) and were promptly refunded so no qualms there. Would we risk it again? If we were passing, probably.

Not somewhere I would want to revisit... terrible, dirty and tired looking. Bathroom was not fit for purpose.., dirty toilet and bins not emptied. Not exactly a room with a view either! Still happy to have charged me full rate even though I complained! 😳

Dropped in on the off chance on the way home from a Christmas market. Service was quick , the staff were pleasant and friendly. We all chose a roast which was nice and hot and plenty of it. I did have a black roast potato which was quickly replaced with more. Would definitely recommend and will revisit. Lovely atmosphere.

Not bad for the price - including the restaurant meal deal. Our room 12 was starting to look tired and in need of a refurb - in particular the bathroom. However the bed was clean and comfortable. The evening menu was varied with lots of choice - and the food was of reasonable quality. Unfortunately I had to send my venison back which wasn't pink ( as described in the menu ) but very well done! To be fair the staff were very quick to deal with this issue and some perfect tasty version was soon provided. The car park was muddy and needs surfacing in particular near to the accommodation block. The breakfast team were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast provided was adequate. Would I stay there and eat there again? Yes - for a similar deal.

I do not recommend staying here. Firstly the drains stank so our room was horrible to sleep in. Second, it's really noisy, we were woken up really early by other guests tv and morning chats in bed plus squeaky floor boards above us. Finally the cost is far too high.

We went here for lunch and really enjoyed it. I had the steak and ale pie with a polenta and water pastry. This is a Tom Kerridge recipe apparently. It was excellent. Big pieces of meat and a lovely rich gravy. The pie was served with mash and vegetables. The place itself is an old inn and has lots of character with a good atmosphere too. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Would go back.

We stayed here for 2 nights for a family wedding. We had a 2 bedroom suite. The master was comfortable and nicely furnished. The girls room was simple and comfortable. Unfortunately a radiator leaked in our girls room and stunk the room out. Really overpowering damp musty smell. The manager assured us that the plumber would come out and fix it that day. Sadly she didn't check as we had to report it again the next day. Not very nice for our girls. In our bathroom there was definitely an issue with the water. Hot water seemed to come out of both taps. I had to run the hot tap for ages to eventually get some cold water to clean my teeth. Quite small for a suite and quite dark. Breakfast was very disappointing. The English breakfast was poor. Bacon was lovely, sausage was quite cold and only just cooked through. Huge plates, tight portions. Coffee terrible! Ordered tea in the end as was so bad. Tasted like when filter needs changing every time. I thought I would opt for poached egg on toast the 2nd morning. Yuk! Snotty looking eggs on soggy waterlogged toast. Also our party had lots of issues when booked dinner there. People's orders forgotten, food not great. We stayed as a one off for a wedding. I suspect most of the guests stay here to attend weddings as there are a couple of venues close by. Do yourself a favour and find somewhere else. We paid £260 for 2 nights accommodation and breakfast. Most I have ever paid. Money not justified. Captive audience due to location.

Lovely cosy traditional country inn with a really warm feel about it, until you meet the management. Really did not make us feel welcome. Every issue we brought up was met with a disapproving face. Breakfast was nice but the evening meals we had ranged from average to poor. You're better off going down the hill into the town of Wotton for your dining opportunities. If you get a good deal on an overnight stay Hunters Is ok as a base to put your luggage but don't expect any service or decent evening dining. Probably go to eat at either the oak in Wotton or if it's not fully booked the Falcon steakhouse which was the best place to eat. Don't eat at the hunters in the evening.

We stayed in Hunters Hall to meet with some friends and drove from there to Cheltenham market. The staff were friendly. The room was comfy and cosy, The pub had a fire place and we spent a nice evening with our friends. I could see they had a play area outside and thought it would be a nice place to come with kids. Only thing is that getting online was a bit complicated (needs creating an account using your email address) so I didn't bother logging in, if they have an easy wifi with username and password like most places that would be much better. Overall nice place and I would come again :)

Stayed in room 12 for one night after a wedding. Couldn't get into the room before going so just left our luggage with the girl on reception to put in the room for us so it didn't get damp. Arrived in the room at 1am and it was freezing! All the radiators were off, it was November and pouring with rain. I put them on but was still cold in the night. The bathroom rad valve is stuck on 3 so it never warmed up. The bed base is kingsize and the matress a double. Not big enough! Saw the kettle but no cups, tea or coffee! Discovered them in a drawer in the morning. The bathroom was ugly and shabby. The lino doesn't meet the wall so a thick line of dirty mastic edged it. The shower is feeble. The tiles on the wall are ok but the grout is mouldy. The bath panel is made up of broken tiles that dont match the wall and looks dreadful. A plastic panel would at least tidy it up. There's an old sanitary bag dispenser fixed to the wall covered in thick dust. A makeover and a better clean would help. I know you can get cheap deals here some nights, but this wasn't one of them and it was outrageously over priced. Breakfast was lovely. Nice choice and lovely staff.

Really not impressed with the non existent welcome when we arrived....and room was small and dated but was cheap. The pub is nice enough and breakfast very nice - excellent staff at breakfast, really friendly and helpful. Good location for visiting Westonbirt Arboretum. Think we just struck unlucky with the staff who 'welcomed' us on the afternoon we arrived. Probably better places in the area for a bit more money.

The pub is located on A4135 in Kingscote .We stopped off on spec during a drive. At the end of the menu there are some upmarket bar snacks I had a steak ciabatta which was excellent and my wife had a vegetarian wrap which she enjoyed. The draught beers were Ipa, Abbott and Spotted Hen so I was spoiled for choice. Service friendly if a bit harassed.Would definitely recommend and go again.

We resently booked a family meal for 30 people which you would imagine would be great news for any restaurant, this was clearly not the case for the Hunters hall. Even food that was pre-ordered was not available, time between courses was ridiculous, dirty plates from our main meal left on the table for over an hour after the meal had been finished, then to top things off, after being twice asked where our desserts had gotten to, and another hour wait, we were told that they had not even started on then, so we all cancelled (as it was now nearly 9.45pm, we had sat down just after 7pm) I dont dispute that they were busy but this lack of consideration, and such a poor standard of service will now result in 30 local people all having negative opinions of this establishment, and will obviously share this negative experience within our own social circles. And a rather unconvincing 'sorry' from the manager did not come close to repairing the damage done.Overall, very dissapointing.

I had been on a 3 day training course in nearby Bristol and was heading home tired but elated by the success of the training. We passed a very olde worldly Pub/Inn at the side of the road - and decided to stop for a meal. The place was really old with low beams and stone walls. We had a delicious and freshly cooked meal and got talking to the waiter - he explained how it used to be a coach inn for stage coaches to stop by to rest the horses. As looked around at the uneven ceiling (dipping with age) lt suddenly felt very very cold on my back. I got up to go to the ladies (but really to move from the "cold spot") but the cold feeling seemed to follow me! The ladies was also very old with an atmosphere of not eeiree - but definitly long ago! As i went to open the toilet door to go back to the restaurant - the door wouldn't open!! every time I opened it - it shut again!!. Eventually the "cold" feeling passed and I made my escape!!If you are interested in Ghosts -excellent food and a very Olde Wordly place - this is for you!!!
