An amazing evening. The food was presented beautifully, each course explained and every one burst with flavour and surprises. The staff were very attentive and friendly and we enjoyed our chat with chef. . Yes it is small but for us that added to the atmosphere. We were also very grateful that when we had to cancel at the last minute due to an accident en route the previous week they were more than happy to refund our deposit despite the short notice. We recently had our wedding evening reception at The Royal Oak and absolutely recommend. Liam and Alex went above and beyond leading up to and on the day. They were able to make everything we wanted happen, provided amazing food, bespoke decorations and drinks and made space for a dance floor! 100% recommend for a drink, bite or an event.

One of the most enjoyable restaurants I've ever been to, creative cooking, perfect execution, nice interior, lovely staff. Not cheap but perfectly reasonable prices. One of my favourite places to eat in the world. Only downside is it can get pretty noisy.

Tuvimos el desayuno vegano. Se dejó fuera en el mostrador de servicio durante unos 5 minutos, mientras que los 3 miembros del personal lo dejaron enfriar. Cuando llegó a nuestra mesa, tuve que enviarlo de vuelta para calentarlo. No necesito haberme molestado. Cuando volvió, la comida ahora caliente apenas era comestible. Frijoles blandos, tofu terrible, aguacate horrible (presumiblemente preprocesado), col rizada quemada, espinacas sin cocer directamente de la bolsa, hongos gomosos sudorosos. En 33 años de ser vegetariana nunca he tenido un desayuno peor. Sin duda no recomendaría ir allí.

Friendliest local fish and chip shop, couldn't recommend more highly. Always made to feel welcome by the lovely team.

We were stuck in traffic and arrived late, the staff did their best to help. It was on the more expensive side but the service was great and I liked the Cornish sole. The staff were friendly but not over attentive and there was a good atmosphere in the restaurant.

Would definitely recommend to anyone. We had a wonderful time here for an anniversary dinner. The food was really good and we enjoyed that we were given time with each dish to finish it before moving on. As they're sharing plates, it was nice to not have several dishes at once. They had run out of the wine we wanted but we're suggested another bottle which was good. Service was great once it was underway, there were 2 large tables finishing as we arrived which took some time to complete.

Visited for the Sunday roast, relaxed atmosphere with great food and friendly service. One of the best in Bristol.
