Fantastic! A hidden gem here in Bristol. A quaint restaurant with an easy atmosphere but a VERY high standard on both service and food. You can get the passion that is put into the food by chef Raffaela, who we were very privileged to meet and talk to which showed her ethos even clearer. The high standard of food was only matched by the fantastic wine pairing and staff. Attentive and very knowledgeable but not overbearing, very professional but makes for an easy going atmosphere. We've been privileged to eat in many high level restaurants around the country but if you can, don't miss out on this West country gem. Don't miss out, book today! We've already rebooked for Feb, it's that good!!

Went here for a special treat and we were not disappointed. Food was outstanding, the signature menu with wine flight was a great experience of flavours and textures. Being able to see the chefs plating up and preparing the food is a nice bonus. The service was great, attentive but left us alone when appropriate to enjoy our evening, very knowledgeable of the wines, pairings and food.

My partner booked the Chefs table for my birthday. The restaurant was small and intimate. The temperature inside was cozy. The only words to describe the dining experience and the service was simply fabulous. The food was devine. We had the 7 course taster meal which left us full but not bursting. A nice touch at the end was the one of the chefs Raffaela came to see us at the end to talk about our experience. The Guinea fowl and jus was delicious and definitely my favourite but to be honest, all of the dishes were delicious. The scallops smelt and tasted beautiful. I could go on. We will definitely go again and would highly recommend.

We came for a Sunday lunch and every bit of it was delicious. All 3 courses were perfectly cooked and I would particularly recommend the aged beef - it was soft and fell apart as you ate it. Not your traditional roast but a great experience all around and nice to meet Chef Raffaela after the meal. Will definitely come again.

This was a perfect Sunday roast for a special occasion, I can highly recommend the Tortello starter and the Porchetta.

Gorgeous cuisine! I opted for the Sunday menu as there were a few things on the other menus I wanted to avoid (such as 'mature goat oil!!!). All the food was delicious but what stood out bizarrely was the bread. I have never tasted anything like it, I don't even like bread but I literally want to return ASAP for that bread and butter. Exquisite. I also enjoyed a delicious halibut dish (with a divine sauce), a very creative mushroom and sweetcorn concoction and a divine 'tiramisu' dessert that was nothing like a traditional tiramisu. I wish I could heave had some of the other desserts as well. Wonderful service and one of the lovely chef's Rafaella came out to say hello etc which was a surprising touch. My only complaint is that the seats have no arms and are not very comfortable but that seems to be the norm everywhere I go. I look forward to returning here for the tasting menu when it changes probably in the new year.

We had a lovely meal. Going for the exceptional menu. Nice to have a number of choices on 4 of the courses. Though food envy did set in. I did find the portions very small even for a tasting menu, but I can not fault the quality of the food and the menu its self. My only reason I did not rate higher, was that we felt rushed as soon as we sat down, with little time to consider our choices or even decide what to drink. The restaurant is small and it was very difficult to hear the waiting staff when they were speaking to us. This is a small restaurant and they certainly turned the tables round quick (probably why we felt so rushed)

It seemed like all the guests were enjoying the experience, which added to the overall ambiance. Our waiter was exceptional—accommodating, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the ingredients and flavors, which enhanced our appreciation of the dishes. The food itself was interesting, with creative flavor combinations and beautiful presentation. However, despite the impressive dishes, we were disappointed to leave the restaurant still feeling hungry after the 5-course menu, especially considering the significant amount we paid.

We had the menu exceptional and it certainly was. Picking a highlight is tricky but the sheer breadth of flavours in the foie gras starter, the scallop dish and the monkfish in coconut bisque risotto took the breath away. The wine flight is absolutely worth adding, wines are carefully paired and thoroughly explained - it is almost like getting a wine tasting class thrown in. Of course it isn't cheap but thoroughly recommended for a special occasion.

The food was remarkable - beautifully presented, interesting ingredients, faultless techniques and, most importantly, totally delicious. Miles was a fabulous host - there had been a muddle in our arrival time that he handled with enormous grace, he explained the wine flight with the right balance of expertise and common touch and made a couple of adjustments to ensure that the whole table had a wonderful evening. On recommendation by a friend, hubby and I came for an impromptu and important celebratory meal together. We chose one of the tasting menus. The food was lovely. However, the overall service and atmosphere in the place were inappropriate for the purported quality of the restaurant and left a lot to be desired. Firstly, there was the shouty young man who kept proclaiming very loudly his deep and detailed knowledge about every wine and every tiny detail of what was on each and every person in the restaurant's plate at every single table (bearing in mind this is a closely packed together small restaurant so there was no escape from his fog horning! ) There were other general etiquette issues with other staff too eg pouring tonic into my husband's gin without asking so that they could take the empty bottle away, when he had deliberately not wanted to have all the tonic in his gin, being pushy about placing our orders quickly when we were studying the 3 menus in detail, as such a restaurant and expenditure might warrant, you might imagine)!. Also, the restaurant was very hot and there appeared to be no access to ventilation - the windows didn't appear to open. My husband started to feel faint so went outside to get some air a couple of times. This led to the icing on the cake of our experience in this restaurant: at the end of our meal (which we enjoyed) we politely asked for the bill and said that we needed to get going and that my husband was feeling hot and I was feeling tired so we were keen to get moving (I had literally got out of hospital that day). We were then instructed that we had to stay to meet the chef. We, again, politely said we would like to just pay the bill and get going as it's really hot in here, my husband isn't feeling great and we are both tired, we enjoyed the food but we don't need to meet the chef, thanks... We were told we cannot leave because it is restaurant policy that we MUST meet the chef!!!!! We felt we had no choice (as the bill had still not been presented to us so we were trapped). In such a small restaurant, we did not wish to create a scene so went with the flow and gave some feedback - the food WAS delicious, it has to be said. The chef turned up and wanted to know which element of the tasting menu we would remember for the rest of our lives. Ummmm. I believe I asked for commission a couple of times because throughout our experience both hubby and I rather felt that we were working for the restaurant rather than the other way around (for our £200+ bill which was mainly on the food - which, by the way, we are not disputing based on the quality of the food). However, to be trapped in a restaurant in such as way is really shocking and totally unacceptable, particularly when we said we had to get going and were not feeling great! For mainly that reason and general lack of customer-focus rather than restaurant-staff focus, it's a 'never again' from us, I'm afraid.

Another fantastic evening at Chefs Table. Conrad in the kitchen, with Miles out front and Chloe. We were a party of 12 celebrating a birthday and the whole experience was seamless. Passionate about great food with an informal style front of house which is easy and exudes confidence in what they are delivering. One of the few places I still enjoy eating in Bristol. Chef’s table was well worth a visit. Although it’s at a premium price point (£170 for two, excluding drinks) everything was beautifully prepared and service was attentive and lovely throughout. The stand-outs were the amuse-bouche selection from the chef, and the beef main course. Although the server never asked how we like the beef prepared, it was beautifully cooked and perfect to our taste. My only criticisms are: 1. The focaccia bread, where you only get one piece between two people 2. The restaurant was very, very hot despite the door being wedged open to offer some relief. It was a nice touch that the chef came out to speak to diners and check they were having a good night. Flavour-wise, this was 10/10!

A truly exceptional meal. We opted for the seven course tasting as it had good options for my pescatarian partner. Every dish was lovely and showed remarkable flavours and attention to detail. The wine flight was also interesting and very well considered and presented. I don't agree with one of the comments about the size of the glasses, we felt they were on the generous side and left us enough to sip between courses. It can be a cliché to say "Can't understand why you don't have a Michelin star" but in this case it really does apply. Maybe it's the lack of frippery (amuse-bouche, petit-fours) but they really aren't needed here. The pricing can make it more of a special occasion venue, though there is now a lighter - and less expensive - lunch menu. Highly recommended.

I have never paid so much for so little food in my life. It was NOT the experience I had hoped for for my birthday treat. I phoned ahead TWICE to say I had a wheat intollerance (so they could offer wheat free options). This turned out to be a waste of time as when we arrived the waitress behaved as if she was hearing this for the first time. I was offered dishes that could be presented WITHOUT the wheat component ( which I could have done myself, as it is what I usually have to do). Therefore my choice from the menu was severely restricted. Bad experience. I would not recommend this place as there are FAR better options availalble in a city the size of Bristol. The chef didn't like hearing this.

We went for lunch on Valentine's Day and had a 6-course tasting menu with a glass of champagne each to start with. Really nice food, beautifully presented. The turbot main course was particularly memorable. It's a very small restaurant with tables shoe-horned in for the maximum number of covers. It's always packed so booking is essential. A £50 deposit was taken at the time of booking and then subtracted from the final bill. There's good parking right opposite which is unusual considering how anti-car Bristol is! Total bill was £203.06 including drinks and a 12.5% service charge. Definitely recommended for fine dining.

Myself and my partner decided to splurge out this year and book ourselves into a restaurant we would never normally go to. Having heard positive things from friends and colleagues and an impressive Valentine’s Day tasting menu online we were sold! The experience simply couldn’t have been better, our waitress Chloe was exceptional, with knowledge of the dishes and superb customer service skills! The food, what can I say, there wasn’t a dish that didn’t leave me wanting more! My partner who isn’t usually a seafood fan even tried and enjoyed my seafood dishes, every course of the tasting menu left us thinking, wow how can it get any better? After the meal Conrad came out to speak with us and find out how our meal was, you can see the passion within him when speaking with him as well as how that translates into the food. While the price is out of our usual budget the food and service speaks for itself and the price is fully justified, special occasions when we want to splurge out we will definitely be returning! Thank you so much to the team for making it such a special Valentine’s Day celebration for us.

We had a lovely dinner here the other week and really enjoyed the options available. It was nice to be able to choose options on a tasting menu which not many other restaurants offer - which means you can choose less meat or dishes that cater more to your preferences than is usually available. All the meals were very well constructed and thought out and the wine pairings were good choices. We really enjoyed the combinations of food offered. For the main, I had a monkfish "en croute" and I guess something to check is how filling certain elements of the tasting menu are. If you are going for 7 courses and have a very filling main you might struggle with the later courses. We'd go here again except that its a bit of a journey for us to travel to that side of town to eat out. They were almost fully booked the day we went but all our food came out in good time. Small point on the service - one waiter came across as a little condescending at times, which I'm sure was not intended. There were wine choices we were not familiar with but I still expect to be told about the wine pairings even though we aren't "connoisseurs". Also there was music playing and the restaurant is a bit small so they need to be careful not to play the music too loud which can interfere with dinner conversation.

I was very disappointed with this restaurant. I have a wheat intollerance which I told them about TWICE. ( One month before, when we booked, and one week before when they hadn't phoned me back after the first messsge). I knew it was going to be expensive and a special meal, so I wanted to have the full experience . However when we arrived, the waitrrss behaved as if she had never heard of my wheat intollersnce and just pointed out the dishes which could be served without the wheat products. (Which is what I usually did, anyway). This resulted in my choice from the menu being reduced to one or two partial dishes for each of the five courses. The glasses of wine fron the 'wine flight' were very small and we ended up paying a fortune for what seemed like less than one bottle of wine. I can honestly say I have never paid so much for so little food, ever. I will never return to this place nor recommend it.It was awful.

Wonderful, theatrical evening with gorgeous food and service. We went for the 7 course tasting menu with wine flight. Everything was delicious. We went for different plates each, so we could try the variety and all the food was fabulous. We were particularly surprised by how much we loved the vegetarian dishes , in particular the cauliflower. If you go definitely try plates you wouldn't usually go for, as these were more delicious than our usual meat choices. The wines were paired perfectly, and service was impeccable, where the wines were introduced and why they were paired. It is very expensive- we did go for the most expensive selections ( ie) we paid an extra £15 p/p for the steak- but it was delicious. The negative was that the Bernaise sauce was served cold from the fridge which wasn't ideal considering the supplement charge, but this is only minor. I have told everyone I meet about this restaurant as it really was a lovely experience. Ideal for a special occasion.

Slightly saddened by my experience at the Chefs Table. As a pescatarian, I was served meat after explicitly telling our waitress twice to make it vegetarian. Apologies were made but there was not much else to be said once that had happened. The presentation and taste of the food was lovely and it’s a nice atmosphere but my experience was slightly overshadowed by this incident.

My wife and I visited The Chef’s Table for lunch. The food was absolutely delicious, subtly flavoured, decent sized portions and every mouthful was a treat. The service was friendly, knowledgeable but not intrusive and a chat with the chef/proprietor was very much appreciated. We have booked for a party of 13 for a special birthday and we are really looking forward to it. Thank you so much, The Chef’s Table!

The best meal we've had in Bristol for ages. The chef was at Jameson's and so we knew he was good. The briand beef was superb. Every one of the three courses was excellent. Very attentive staff. Perfect surroundings..... acoustics we're hearing aid friendly. 😊

Lovely restaurant and nice food. However, make use you ask for tap water not just water. Waitress was friendly but it was like being a judge on Mater Chef, she went through everything that we were eating. After the meal, the chef came out to see us. It was a nice touch but also cringy.

We went as a group of 4 last night. Delicious food and drink (7 course with paired wine) Staff especially friendly and seemed genuinely interested in the wine and food. Will definitely return

Food was excellent but service was very mediocre. All felt very rushed, for example we had the wine pairing, and waiter would rush to fill up the glasses, and then leave. No explanation of the wine he'd just poured. For £150 a head, would not recommend and wouldn't return. Belrush and Wilsons are much better alternatives.

What a fabulous evening we had . A treat for my wife and myself from our daughter and her partner . We had the 5 course tasting menu with wine flight . Caroline and Miles guided us through each sumptuous taste sensation course by course with passion and knowledge . We have been to several Michelin starred tasting restaurants before and this was truly up there in quality. For friendly atmosphere and value for money you can’t beat this in my opinion . Conrad and his fabulous team deliver an experience that we are very keen to repeat as soon as possible .

Food was quite plain, small and underwhelming. Not very strong flavours. Fine but not worth the extremely high price. Pudding was lovely. Also one of our guests got locked in the toilet and they didn’t seem very apologetic or offer even a drink in compensation. Lovely staff though! And food looked pretty.

Truly weird experience. Restaurant was almost empty. We had the 5 course tasting menu with wine flight. Wines were good but not great and came with slightly off descriptions, where we recognised the wines. Food was ok but massively punching above its weight, with so many amazing other places to go in Bristol. Starter of bream tartare was lovely but vegetarian main course (I'm not veggie but it sounded nice) was completely tasteless. Over £200 for 2 people is fine if you get something great but it was way off this. Chef comes out at the end to discuss the meal - it just wasn't anywhere near good enough to warrant this.

Opted for the 5 course tasting menu to celebrate a milestone birthday at this restaurant. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations. The initial course, though small, lacked any discernible taste or flavor and could be consumed in a single spoonful. The second course featuring scallops was similarly underwhelming, with a noticeable absence of substantial flavor; it felt akin to chewing on air. The third course, a well-cooked chateaubriand accompanied by a bone marrow sauce, presented a conflicting experience. While the meat was perfectly prepared, the reduced sauce, unfortunately, suffered from an overpowering taste of marmite, rendering it excessively salty. The rum baba in the subsequent course was delightful, but the Chantilly cream, disappointingly thin, necessitated swift consumption before it seemingly evaporated. The saving grace came with the final course—a soufflé that stood out as the highlight of the entire meal. The soufflé was impeccable, boasting a delightful combination of flavors and textures that left a positive lasting impression. Despite this, I cannot recommend this restaurant overall. Regrettably, the overall dining experience was marred by the disappointing quality of the majority of the dishes.

Delicious food, but I found the table setup a bit too close one to another. Not sure how a person that is not slim will feel comfortable in that setup.

I was pretty full with five courses and chateaubriand. Everything was very delicious, the appetizer was a fusion of Thai cuisine, the main course was typical but perfectly seasoned with salt, and the dessert, the apple soufflé, was amazing. There were times when the other customers were so noisy that it was hard to hear their conversations, but I think that's what makes this restaurant so homey. It is better to make a reservation. A deposit of £50 will be required. I was quite full from the five courses and the chateaubriand. Everything was very tasty, the starter was a Thai fusion, the main course was typical but with the perfect amount of salt, and the apple soufflé for dessert was excellent🥰 The other customers were quite roudy and it was sometimes difficult to hear my partner's voice, but I think that's how homely the restaurant is😄 It is better to make a reservation. A deposit of £50- is charged for it.

Been there three times the last month (usually Saturday mid-morning) sometimes on my own to just have my brekkie and read my book and some others with friends who I convinced they have to visit and try those legendary pancakes that Abbie’s cafe serves! Abbie, Chelsie and Leanne are great, really passionate and friendly! Couldn’t recommend this place enough and I’d go back every week not just to support local for the sake of it but just because I haven’t had such a great breakfast in a while and can definitely complete any well known city centre coffee shop! Keep up girls!!!
