The service, ambience and (most importantly) food is outstanding. I can’t recommend it enough. Some of the nicest and most refined dishes I’ve had in a long time

We went here last night to celebrate our wedding anniversary and were not disappointed! From the minute we walked in everything was perfect, the service, atmosphere and the food was to die for. We went for the five course tasting menu which was amazing, the flavours fantastic as was the presentation, even the chef came out to ask us how the evening had gone. Although not cheap this restaurant is worth every penny and I would highly recommend it, we will certainly be going back!!

Everything about our meal at The Chef's Table was fantastic . The food is so flavoursome and beautifully presented, but alongside that is really friendly, knowledgeable service, and a really relaxed atmosphere. It was our first visit here, but won't be our last!

A truly exceptional meal. We opted for the seven course tasting as it had good options for my pescatarian partner. Every dish was lovely and showed remarkable flavours and attention to detail. The wine flight was also interesting and very well considered and presented. I don't agree with one of the comments about the size of the glasses, we felt they were on the generous side and left us enough to sip between courses. It can be a cliché to say "Can't understand why you don't have a Michelin star" but in this case it really does apply. Maybe it's the lack of frippery (amuse-bouche, petit-fours) but they really aren't needed here. The pricing can make it more of a special occasion venue, though there is now a lighter - and less expensive - lunch menu. Highly recommended.

I have never paid so much for so little food in my life. It was NOT the experience I had hoped for for my birthday treat. I phoned ahead TWICE to say I had a wheat intollerance (so they could offer wheat free options). This turned out to be a waste of time as when we arrived the waitress behaved as if she was hearing this for the first time. I was offered dishes that could be presented WITHOUT the wheat component ( which I could have done myself, as it is what I usually have to do). Therefore my choice from the menu was severely restricted. Bad experience. I would not recommend this place as there are FAR better options availalble in a city the size of Bristol. The chef didn't like hearing this.

Mind-blowing service. What a treat really ✨ The service is top notch. Foods are finger licking good. Overall vibe is just so apt with 80's 90's songs in background. Bathroom is creatively sustainable 😂 Loved the idea of wash basin over flush tank. Also, no paper towel rather, fresh hand towels. Really fine dine. Words cannot describe their quality. Superb ❤️ Highly highly recommended. My favourite ones are chicken liver pudding, scallop and soufflé.

We went for lunch on Valentine's Day and had a 6-course tasting menu with a glass of champagne each to start with. Really nice food, beautifully presented. The turbot main course was particularly memorable. It's a very small restaurant with tables shoe-horned in for the maximum number of covers. It's always packed so booking is essential. A £50 deposit was taken at the time of booking and then subtracted from the final bill. There's good parking right opposite which is unusual considering how anti-car Bristol is! Total bill was £203.06 including drinks and a 12.5% service charge. Definitely recommended for fine dining.

I hadn’t been to The Chef’s Table for a while but after last nights visit to celebrate my wife’s birthday with family, I realised what I’d been missing! Conrad’s food has always been excellent and last night it was exceptional! We had the 5 course tasting menu which was excellent and was accompanied by a member of staff explaining each of the choices. Mentioning the staff, well, they were brilliant too and at the end of the evening the Head Chef visited our table to find out our views on our evening.

Myself and my partner decided to splurge out this year and book ourselves into a restaurant we would never normally go to. Having heard positive things from friends and colleagues and an impressive Valentine’s Day tasting menu online we were sold! The experience simply couldn’t have been better, our waitress Chloe was exceptional, with knowledge of the dishes and superb customer service skills! The food, what can I say, there wasn’t a dish that didn’t leave me wanting more! My partner who isn’t usually a seafood fan even tried and enjoyed my seafood dishes, every course of the tasting menu left us thinking, wow how can it get any better? After the meal Conrad came out to speak with us and find out how our meal was, you can see the passion within him when speaking with him as well as how that translates into the food. While the price is out of our usual budget the food and service speaks for itself and the price is fully justified, special occasions when we want to splurge out we will definitely be returning! Thank you so much to the team for making it such a special Valentine’s Day celebration for us.

We had a lovely dinner here the other week and really enjoyed the options available. It was nice to be able to choose options on a tasting menu which not many other restaurants offer - which means you can choose less meat or dishes that cater more to your preferences than is usually available. All the meals were very well constructed and thought out and the wine pairings were good choices. We really enjoyed the combinations of food offered. For the main, I had a monkfish "en croute" and I guess something to check is how filling certain elements of the tasting menu are. If you are going for 7 courses and have a very filling main you might struggle with the later courses. We'd go here again except that its a bit of a journey for us to travel to that side of town to eat out. They were almost fully booked the day we went but all our food came out in good time. Small point on the service - one waiter came across as a little condescending at times, which I'm sure was not intended. There were wine choices we were not familiar with but I still expect to be told about the wine pairings even though we aren't "connoisseurs". Also there was music playing and the restaurant is a bit small so they need to be careful not to play the music too loud which can interfere with dinner conversation.

Wonderful, theatrical evening with gorgeous food and service. We went for the 7 course tasting menu with wine flight. Everything was delicious. We went for different plates each, so we could try the variety and all the food was fabulous. We were particularly surprised by how much we loved the vegetarian dishes , in particular the cauliflower. If you go definitely try plates you wouldn't usually go for, as these were more delicious than our usual meat choices. The wines were paired perfectly, and service was impeccable, where the wines were introduced and why they were paired. It is very expensive- we did go for the most expensive selections ( ie) we paid an extra £15 p/p for the steak- but it was delicious. The negative was that the Bernaise sauce was served cold from the fridge which wasn't ideal considering the supplement charge, but this is only minor. I have told everyone I meet about this restaurant as it really was a lovely experience. Ideal for a special occasion.

I was very disappointed with this restaurant. I have a wheat intollerance which I told them about TWICE. ( One month before, when we booked, and one week before when they hadn't phoned me back after the first messsge). I knew it was going to be expensive and a special meal, so I wanted to have the full experience . However when we arrived, the waitrrss behaved as if she had never heard of my wheat intollersnce and just pointed out the dishes which could be served without the wheat products. (Which is what I usually did, anyway). This resulted in my choice from the menu being reduced to one or two partial dishes for each of the five courses. The glasses of wine fron the 'wine flight' were very small and we ended up paying a fortune for what seemed like less than one bottle of wine. I can honestly say I have never paid so much for so little food, ever. I will never return to this place nor recommend it.It was awful.

Came here for our anniversary. Absolutely gorgeous food and when we got our desserts the chef has written happy anniversary in chocolate 🥹 service was brilliant very attentive and the food was delicious! Will be back!

Slightly saddened by my experience at the Chefs Table. As a pescatarian, I was served meat after explicitly telling our waitress twice to make it vegetarian. Apologies were made but there was not much else to be said once that had happened. The presentation and taste of the food was lovely and it’s a nice atmosphere but my experience was slightly overshadowed by this incident.

Thank you Conrad, Mike and team for making my birthday lunch so memorable. We had the most amazing food, exceptional flavours and presentation. We will be back for the new menu soon!!

My wife and I visited The Chef’s Table for lunch. The food was absolutely delicious, subtly flavoured, decent sized portions and every mouthful was a treat. The service was friendly, knowledgeable but not intrusive and a chat with the chef/proprietor was very much appreciated. We have booked for a party of 13 for a special birthday and we are really looking forward to it. Thank you so much, The Chef’s Table!

The best meal we've had in Bristol for ages. The chef was at Jameson's and so we knew he was good. The briand beef was superb. Every one of the three courses was excellent. Very attentive staff. Perfect surroundings..... acoustics we're hearing aid friendly. 😊

Hands down the best culinary experience ever. I can't stop thinking about the explosion of sensations in my cake hole. Our taste buds are In for lifetime of disappointment henceforth. Chef/owner Con and the team create not just amazing food, but also a feeling that your a treasured guest in their home .

Lovely restaurant and nice food. However, make use you ask for tap water not just water. Waitress was friendly but it was like being a judge on Mater Chef, she went through everything that we were eating. After the meal, the chef came out to see us. It was a nice touch but also cringy.

Food was excellent but service was very mediocre. All felt very rushed, for example we had the wine pairing, and waiter would rush to fill up the glasses, and then leave. No explanation of the wine he'd just poured. For £150 a head, would not recommend and wouldn't return. Belrush and Wilsons are much better alternatives.

What a fabulous evening we had . A treat for my wife and myself from our daughter and her partner . We had the 5 course tasting menu with wine flight . Caroline and Miles guided us through each sumptuous taste sensation course by course with passion and knowledge . We have been to several Michelin starred tasting restaurants before and this was truly up there in quality. For friendly atmosphere and value for money you can’t beat this in my opinion . Conrad and his fabulous team deliver an experience that we are very keen to repeat as soon as possible .

Food was quite plain, small and underwhelming. Not very strong flavours. Fine but not worth the extremely high price. Pudding was lovely. Also one of our guests got locked in the toilet and they didn’t seem very apologetic or offer even a drink in compensation. Lovely staff though! And food looked pretty.

Truly weird experience. Restaurant was almost empty. We had the 5 course tasting menu with wine flight. Wines were good but not great and came with slightly off descriptions, where we recognised the wines. Food was ok but massively punching above its weight, with so many amazing other places to go in Bristol. Starter of bream tartare was lovely but vegetarian main course (I'm not veggie but it sounded nice) was completely tasteless. Over £200 for 2 people is fine if you get something great but it was way off this. Chef comes out at the end to discuss the meal - it just wasn't anywhere near good enough to warrant this.

Opted for the 5 course tasting menu to celebrate a milestone birthday at this restaurant. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations. The initial course, though small, lacked any discernible taste or flavor and could be consumed in a single spoonful. The second course featuring scallops was similarly underwhelming, with a noticeable absence of substantial flavor; it felt akin to chewing on air. The third course, a well-cooked chateaubriand accompanied by a bone marrow sauce, presented a conflicting experience. While the meat was perfectly prepared, the reduced sauce, unfortunately, suffered from an overpowering taste of marmite, rendering it excessively salty. The rum baba in the subsequent course was delightful, but the Chantilly cream, disappointingly thin, necessitated swift consumption before it seemingly evaporated. The saving grace came with the final course—a soufflé that stood out as the highlight of the entire meal. The soufflé was impeccable, boasting a delightful combination of flavors and textures that left a positive lasting impression. Despite this, I cannot recommend this restaurant overall. Regrettably, the overall dining experience was marred by the disappointing quality of the majority of the dishes.

Nice place with great service! The food was nice but the ratio price/ taste is not great! I found the prices quite high for their prices!

Delicious food, but I found the table setup a bit too close one to another. Not sure how a person that is not slim will feel comfortable in that setup.

I was pretty full with five courses and chateaubriand. Everything was very delicious, the appetizer was a fusion of Thai cuisine, the main course was typical but perfectly seasoned with salt, and the dessert, the apple soufflé, was amazing. There were times when the other customers were so noisy that it was hard to hear their conversations, but I think that's what makes this restaurant so homey. It is better to make a reservation. A deposit of £50 will be required. I was quite full from the five courses and the chateaubriand. Everything was very tasty, the starter was a Thai fusion, the main course was typical but with the perfect amount of salt, and the apple soufflé for dessert was excellent🥰 The other customers were quite roudy and it was sometimes difficult to hear my partner's voice, but I think that's how homely the restaurant is😄 It is better to make a reservation. A deposit of £50- is charged for it.

Visited here in Sept 23 for an executive dinner that we were hosting for various senior business leaders. We booked out the whole venue, which was the perfect size and atmosphere for the intimate and exclusive feel that we wanted, plus a convenient location. The TV that shows into the kitchen was fascinating, and the record player was put to use towards the end of the evening! Caroline from the venue helped us organise the event in advance and was great to deal with. We were fortunate with the weather so were able to enjoy a welcome drinks reception out the front of the venue, and have the door open all evening to let the balmy night in. We had the 7 course taster menu and it was simply OUTSTANDING - so many of our guests commented on how delicious it was, particularly the beef steak course! It was so tasty that I even enjoyed the fish dish (not usual for me!). Service on the night was exemplary, the courses were brought out at just the right intervals so you weren't waiting ages but also not being rushed. The chef came out to greet us after the final course, which was a lovely touch and meant we could thank him. Overall, we had really great feedback from our guests, everyone loved it - thank you for making our event such a success! We would definitely book again, and I know a few of our guests have already recommended it to their own companies for executive dinners! Would not hesitate to recommend.

Over rated restaurant, you’re crammed in like sardines in a tin ! no privacy or room to move comfortably, any table that’s slightly loud overwhelms your experience. Food is not quite Michelin Star in my opinion and from experience of other MS restaurants.

Just happened on this place as my wife & I were strolling back from the Balloon Festival yesterday…and was absolutely blown away. We had the 5-course tasting menu and was very impressed with the cooking. The highlights were the Crisp Courgette Flower, which was fantastic, the Wood Mushroom Ragout Tartlets, Steak au Poivre (not your average steak au poivre!!) and the Mango Souflé…with the double being the crowning glory of the whole meal. The service was good, not great, but the overall ambience of the restaurant was perfect. We don’t live in Bristol, so we don’t know when we will be back, but if this restaurant was closer to home, I’d be there all the time!

Well worth the train from Swindon. We took advantage of the ability to choose courses on the 7 course menu and picked 1 of each so we tried EVERYTHING!!. Cannot fault any dish we ate. I am absolutely a carnivore- didn’t order 1 meat dish and zero regrets! Brilliant service, fantastic wines. Go, you won’t regret it!

We had the five course tasting menu, every course was beautifully presented and it was unusual to be able to choose each course from a selection of vegetarian / fish / meat for a tasting menu - really appreciated this aspect. I'd come back every time the menu is refreshed if I had the means, but we'll definitely be back for another special occasion. Good value, incredible food, wonderful staff.

Went there for our anniversary meal. Ordered a la carte. The price of the dish was just under £40. It tasted superb but the portion was tiny, a small starter size. My husband was done with it in about 3 minutes. I appreciate that as part of a tasting menu portions are small but ordering a la carte I expected a decent portion size, particularly for £40. We had some bread, 2 mains and 3 drinks between us, the bill came to £120. We came home straight afterwards and had dinner. In my opinion it's not just about how the food tastes, but also how it fills you up. For this much money I expect the food to be tasty (which it was) AND plentiful (which it wasn't)

Booked for a family celebration and we each had the 5 course tasting menu with wine pairings. Service was impeccable, friendly and unrushed. The food was of a standard and cooked with a precision rarely met outside Michelin starred places. Particular credit for the lobster raviolo and steak pairing and the 'tomato elixir'. We had a really lovely evening here. Food was amazing, good choice of wines/drinks and the staff were excellent. 5 course tasting we felt was very reasonably priced. Only shame was we paid a deposit to get the table, but had vouchers as a gift. However when the bill came the deposit had been automatically deducted and when we asked whether our deposit could be returned to allow us to use the vouchers, we were told this wasn't possible. [EDITED: Since publishing this review, Conrad has reached out to me personally to resolve the issue. Very professional and polite, so I have amended my rating. The response has made me confident to fully recommend this spot and we will be returning]

Fantastic eatery. Excellent flavour combinations with brilliant wine pairings. A must visit in Bristol. The staff are very friendly and treat you well. I always recommend Chefs Table to visitors to Bristol. One point I would make is that some of my older relatives find it difficult to hear conversation when there is background music. On the day we visited it was a tad loud, I am sure it would have been turned down if asked, but might just be an accessibility point worth considering.

Went here for valentines in February 2023. It required a deposit to hold the table. The food was good with a set menu of 4 or so courses. The service was good although it did feel like we had to wait a while before receiving the menus which let us choose between a vegetarian or meat set. Each course was small as expected but with different flavours, don’t expect a huge meal for your money but rather an experience. Some courses were better than others and although we enjoyed the experience we felt there were other restaurants in Bristol at this price range that were a little tastier.

Have been to many restaurants and this by far is the best in bristol and top 5 I’ve had internationally. Absolutely divine, no other words to explain.

First class all the way. Top food and a very welcoming front of house team. A very sensibly priced and, going by what we had, very good wine list too.

One of my favourite dining experiences. I had the 5 course tasting menu which is great value for the quality of the dishes and portion sizes were just right. The quality of the food was really outstanding. The staff were friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was relaxed. A lovely little touch on the last course for our anniversary meal as well. Couldn’t really ask for more. I would very highly recommend and we will be back!

Very nice place. Delicious and fantastic quality food, excellent service - the chef has a chat with the clients! I loved it. They could work on the decor a bit - we had a wobbly table next to the door and it was quite cold with people coming in and leaving.

We were able to get a table easily online and the food was lovely. It was particularly great that they were so knowledgeable and attentive to gluten free diets. I would 100% recommend the venison starter and the lemon soup desert!! Pros Good quality Lots of gluten free options Friendly warm and attentive service (chef even visited us to say hi!!) Cons Didn't play ray Charles despite having the vinyl record (I had to say something 😅)

With a group of friends, we went for a 5 course tasting menu. It was the best fine dining experience ever in Bristol. The place is cosy and very welcoming. The staff are amazing. They overheard it was my friend's birthday and they arranged a little surprise! The chef came out as well to say hello

Enjoyed tasting menu this evening and thought the overall experience was great value and thoughtfully put together. Portions (particularly wine pairings) were generous and service was friendly and professional. My only suggestion would be that pairing monkfish with chardonnay and a steak with a left bank bordeaux (even though it was all excellent) as the key mains is not hugely adventurous. But I understand you can't cater for everyone with a tasting menu. Overall, though, the intricacy and effort put into each dish is outstanding at this price point and I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough.

Visited last week for the first time. We had a great time - service was excellent (Jack looked after us), and the food was excellent. We went for the 5 course taster menu (and added some bread to start). Personal favourites was the squid ink risotto, and the pickled vegetables. Would recommend, and we will definitely be back.

Beautifully cooked and presented food, with a great service. Flavour was absent or slightly wrong in some of the tasting dishes, for my preference.

Food is excellent overall. Found the juniper sauce bit too bitter and the lemon meringue too sweet which considering the price tag I was a mite surprised by but I would defo come back and have another bash. Wat h this space... Edit... Came back...food was all excellent gravy still too bitter. Blue cheese custard was a bloody win. Still a solid 4 in my eyes....maybe 4.5 after that feast x

Good lunch at the Chef's Table (you can actually see an area of the kitchen from all tables in the main room, and there's a TV screen as well, showing the area that is not directly visible). The technique is classical but the dishes on the appealing menu are not standard or banal, and the chefs can really extract the flavours from their ingredients. Service was friendly and energetic. Prices for food are rather full, considering that portions are restrained, that there is no complimentary item whatsoever -unusual in this type of restaurant- and that a 12.5% service is added to the bill, but definitely not extortionate. And wine prices are friendlier. The wine list is not overly inspiring but can be described as "functional and affordable". The room is bright and pleasant.

Wow! This place is amazing. The food was something else. The staff are lovely, friendly and happy. I love how you can watch the kitchen staff working on tv and I love that the chef comes to speak to you at the end of your meal. I would highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Wowza. That was amazing. The food, service, setting and atmosphere were all perfect. We had the Tasting menus with Grouse and Brill, both were incredible. Excellent choice of both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. The staff were perfectly tentative. Conrad the chef came out and spoke to every customer individually after the food which was a lovely touch. Intimate, special occasion food without any pretension. Already checking the calendar for when we will return!

What a fab evening. My husband and myself have just spent the evening celebrating with our family. Our 50th wedding anniversary. The staff and service was great, the chef wonderful, food absolutely delicious. Thankyou chef’s table you made it for us , I can’t Thankyou enough. Lynne Searle .
