An amazing evening. The food was presented beautifully, each course explained and every one burst with flavour and surprises. The staff were very attentive and friendly and we enjoyed our chat with chef. . Yes it is small but for us that added to the atmosphere. We were also very grateful that when we had to cancel at the last minute due to an accident en route the previous week they were more than happy to refund our deposit despite the short notice. Thank you Chefs Table

I can't quite get my head around the 5 star rating here. My wife and I had the taster menu and wine pairing on the lead up the Christmas as a special treat, and unfortunately both came away incredibly dissatisfied. I must admit, we eat in a lot of nice restaurants, but the standard of food doesn't even come close to other restaurants in Bristol. The plates look nice, but the food is dry and tasteless and really doesn't warrant the £300 price tag (with wine pairing). Atmosphere was ok, so long as you are happy being up close and personal with the table next to you, and the service was good. They offered to remove the service charge and reduce the bill by 10% after I had provided my thoughts at the end of the meal. I declined the offer and just asked for them to take my feedback on board.

What a wonderful place to visit! The food was exquisite, beautifully presented and so tasty. The soufflé was out of this world. The staff were just the right level of attentive but personable, friendly and helpful and the whole place had a lovely atmosphere. It was lovely to meet the head chef at the end and discuss the food, it made the whole experience feel very special. A great place to go for a special occasion and we can’t wait to go back.

Style over substance. Onion tart was disappointing... the cheese and 'malt cake' even worse. Assuming a 4/1 mark up, I can buy better wine myself no problem. Service was inexperienced. Portions too small, even for fine dining. I don't like complaining- the restaurant biz is hard graft; but trying to comp the service over complaints about food is NOT COOL to your staff. too much sous vide and overly 'salty' glace de viande.... Sour brie and dry unsweetened cake? No..No...NO!. Cheddar and fruit cake works because it is sweet, sour and salty.. not sour on sour, which tastes like sick with cranberry sauce....?

Our recent visit to The Chef's Table was nothing short of extraordinary. From start to finish, the meal surpassed our expectations. We opted for the exceptional tasting menu, and each course was a revelation. Every dish was beautifully crafted, and without a doubt, some of the best food we've ever had. The standout dishes were the squab and the scallops. The squab was cooked to perfection, with a deep, rich flavor, and the scallops were tender and bursting with freshness. The wine pairings were equally impressive, carefully selected to complement the flavors of each course. The atmosphere was refined yet comfortable and made the experience feel special without being overly formal. What truly set the experience apart, however, was the personal touch. The chef came to speak with us, taking the time to explain the inspiration behind the dishes and ensuring our experience was unforgettable. Overall, The Chefs Table is a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in fine dining. Highly recommended for those who appreciate impeccable food, outstanding wine pairings, and superb service.

We had the tasting menu to celebrate my wife’s birthday in January and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was fantastic, we are both gluten free and they were able to adapt dishes perfectly. Excellent service throughout - even apologised for it being wet outside. We didn’t take the wine pairing (we went at lunchtime), but the wine we had was beautiful - so would certainly be tempted next time, we heard others with the pairing being served and servers sounded very knowledgable. Chef came out to talk to us at the end which was a lovely touch. Highly recommend, we’ll be back for sure.

The restaurant was cozy and intimate and the service was generally good although not exceptional, which matches the food. Hopes were high with the great ratings, and having been to box-e and Adeline’s yard, I was hoping this would compete or best case, be better. For prices of £82 for the tasting menu, expectations and standards are high but sadly the food was very small, bland and a lot of soft ‘baby food’ like textures. It’s a nice place if you want to impress a date but if you’re a foodie looking for an evening that boasts greatness, this restaurant is sadly not the place. On a more positive note, It was nice to have the chef personally come over to speak with you- but of course when you’re there for a special occasion you are not going to ruin the vibe by complaining about everything since the ‘damage’ has been done. So I would recommend considering these points before deciding whether this place is the right pick for you

The 2 star is purely comparing this to its competitors. I was a little apprehensive and mentioned to my wife on the way that it was very easy to book a table with plenty of space last minute, why is somewhere like that so quiet. Whilst there, there were a fair few empty tables. I'm going to start by saying it is massively disappointing giving what was expected. Incredible how it's kept 2 rosette if I'm honest. Our bill came to just over £300 Parking - spot on, plenty just accross the road. Accessible- perfect, disabled people will have no issue here. The atmosphere is nice, it was warm, relaxed, clean, good lighting and the smells coming from the kitchen were great. Greeted with a smile and very friendly lady who couldn't have been more welcoming. Offered drinks straight off the bat, I mentioned about having a wine flight and from that moment everything seems to feel a bit fractured, it's like I disturbed the routine by not wanting another drink before the wine started and then it felt very un easy. When the first glass of wine came she asked me "would you like me to go through the explanation of the wine or shall I just pour it ?" This was awkward, i think she could tell so gave a very loose description. The wine was nice, descriptions were very loose and I asked questions with a "i don't know" so I think some more training on the wine would be good. The food. . . Don't get me wrong the food was ok, I always look for that thing that stands out, that's item that makes me smile but unfortunately that did not exist here, i would put most of the courses as something I would expect to have at marriot hotel wedding function if I'm honest. There was not a massive amount of flavours going on. I'm being very harsh due to where this placing is trying to set itself and the money it's charging it a well under par and nowhere near it's competitors. The entries were nice. The purree on the dishes were pointless as there was hardly any on there and just for presentation however the purree was also like glue to the plate after being left under the lights for too long. Veal was cooked really nice, the jus was very intense and tasted like marmite. Squab was over and dry. The john dory was slightly over cooked but I'm picking hairs with that one. (Which I'm going to do with the prices if I'm honest) The Scallops... well .... Huxley disappointed. It was tasteless and the sushi was well over done. This just didn't fit at all on the menu to start with but was just a really poor executed plate. I didn't eat it all. The first dessert was really nice, reminded me of what my grandmother used to make us when we were kids. The second dessert (i didnt take a pucture) seemed to be very lost. Each individual item tasted fine but it was like a chef thought oh I'm good at these let's put them on one plate and see what happens, weird. Overall it's like this place was coming out of the 80s but kind of got stuck getting out of it didn't really see anything modern there, still garnished with green leaf for a start. Food was very medium, I'd still be giving it a low rating if the price was lower. Every other table got asked if they wanted to talk to the chef after appart from us I promised my wife that I would kindly refuse the chef as she knows I'd have said something and she hates that, he came over any way and took the feedback great, had a chat also and was a friendly guy. For a tasting menu experience there are far better places to go in Bristol for the money, Wilsons for example. For a Dinning experience again the food is dated and not fantastic, little french walks all over the food here. It is just not up to par and punching well above its weight. We won't be back unfortunately but thank you. Just to finish off I've come back to this review after uploading pictures. The food was that far under parr that there were dishes served to me less than 10 hours ago and I completely forgot about them. . . .the pictures reminded me. . . So yea £300 well spent ......... clearly

My partner and I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Chef's Table and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and pampered. The service was impeccable, the atmosphere was charming and inviting, and the food was absolutely divine. Every dish we had was exceptional, but the veal deserves special mention. It was cooked to perfection, melting in our mouths with an explosion of flavor. The soufflé and the Pavlova were simply irresistible, and we're not typically dessert lovers. And let's not forget the Negroni – it was hands down the best we've ever had. What truly set this dining experience apart was the genuine care and attention we received. The chef even took the time to chat with us at the end of our meal, which we found incredibly thoughtful, especially considering how busy the kitchen must have been. As someone with multiple food allergies, I was also incredibly grateful for how accommodating and understanding the staff were. Fantastic! A hidden gem here in Bristol. A quaint restaurant with an easy atmosphere but a VERY high standard on both service and food. You can get the passion that is put into the food by chef Raffaela, who we were very privileged to meet and talk to which showed her ethos even clearer. The high standard of food was only matched by the fantastic wine pairing and staff. Attentive and very knowledgeable but not overbearing, very professional but makes for an easy going atmosphere. We've been privileged to eat in many high level restaurants around the country but if you can, don't miss out on this West country gem. Don't miss out, book today! Gorgeous cuisine! I opted for the Sunday menu as there were a few things on the other menus I wanted to avoid (such as 'mature goat oil!!!). All the food was delicious but what stood out bizarrely was the bread. I have never tasted anything like it, I don't even like bread but I literally want to return ASAP for that bread and butter. Exquisite. I also enjoyed a delicious halibut dish (with a divine sauce), a very creative mushroom and sweetcorn concoction and a divine 'tiramisu' dessert that was nothing like a traditional tiramisu. I wish I could heave had some of the other desserts as well. Wonderful service and one of the lovely chef's Rafaella came out to say hello etc which was a surprising touch. My only complaint is that the seats have no arms and are not very comfortable but that seems to be the norm everywhere I go. I look forward to returning here for the tasting menu when it changes probably in the new year.

I did find the portions very small even for a tasting menu, but I can not fault the quality of the food and the menu its self. My only reason I did not rate higher, was that we felt rushed as soon as we sat down, with little time to consider our choices or even decide what to drink. Food was nice but definitely avoid the a la carte menu, as others have said the portions are very small and very overpriced for what you get. Same with the starter, 2 starters 2 mains and 2 drinks came to £148 and had to get food on the way home as we were still hungry. Service was good.

After reading so many good comments, my hubby and I had to try this place. I have to say that the comments were not wrong. The Chef's table has a lovely atmosphere, outstanding food and excellent service. It is not cheap but definitely worthwhile as a treat. We will be back :-)

Went there for the first time after hearing a lot of good reviews and I have to admit, rhey were right! The service was unbelievable. They are very accommodating, friendly and attentive. We went for the 7 course meal but I would say it was 9 as we got two complimentary dishes! The food was prepared so well and they were all so good, I couldn’t pick a favorite! The chef also comes to say hi at the end of the meal which I thought was a nice touch! Would highly recommend.

On recommendation by a friend, hubby and I came for an impromptu and important celebratory meal together. We chose one of the tasting menus. The food was lovely. However, the overall service and atmosphere in the place were inappropriate for the purported quality of the restaurant and left a lot to be desired. Firstly, there was the shouty young man who kept proclaiming very loudly his deep and detailed knowledge about every wine and every tiny detail of what was on each and every person in the restaurant's plate at every single table (bearing in mind this is a closely packed together small restaurant so there was no escape from his fog horning! ) There were other general etiquette issues with other staff too eg pouring tonic into my husband's gin without asking so that they could take the empty bottle away, when he had deliberately not wanted to have all the tonic in his gin, being pushy about placing our orders quickly when we were studying the 3 menus in detail, as such a restaurant and expenditure might warrant, you might imagine)!. Also, the restaurant was very hot and there appeared to be no access to ventilation - the windows didn't appear to open. My husband started to feel faint so went outside to get some air a couple of times. This led to the icing on the cake of our experience in this restaurant: at the end of our meal (which we enjoyed) we politely asked for the bill and said that we needed to get going and that my husband was feeling hot and I was feeling tired so we were keen to get moving (I had literally got out of hospital that day). We were then instructed that we had to stay to meet the chef. We, again, politely said we would like to just pay the bill and get going as it's really hot in here, my husband isn't feeling great and we are both tired, we enjoyed the food but we don't need to meet the chef, thanks... We were told we cannot leave because it is restaurant policy that we MUST meet the chef!!!!! We felt we had no choice (as the bill had still not been presented to us so we were trapped). In such a small restaurant, we did not wish to create a scene so went with the flow and gave some feedback - the food WAS delicious, it has to be said. The chef turned up and wanted to know which element of the tasting menu we would remember for the rest of our lives. Ummmm. I believe I asked for commission a couple of times because throughout our experience both hubby and I rather felt that we were working for the restaurant rather than the other way around (for our £200+ bill which was mainly on the food - which, by the way, we are not disputing based on the quality of the food). However, to be trapped in a restaurant in such as way is really shocking and totally unacceptable, particularly when we said we had to get going and were not feeling great! For mainly that reason and general lack of customer-focus rather than restaurant-staff focus, it's a 'never again' from us, I'm afraid.

Another fantastic evening at Chefs Table. Conrad in the kitchen, with Miles out front and Chloe. We were a party of 12 celebrating a birthday and the whole experience was seamless. Passionate about great food with an informal style front of house which is easy and exudes confidence in what they are delivering. One of the few places I still enjoy eating in Bristol. The entire evening was excellent. My only ask is to purchase larger water glasses for those who consume a lot of it. Otherwise full marks! Thank you again.

Everything was perfect; the starters were amazing, and the beef fillet was probably the best main I’ve ever had. The place itself is super cosy and the staff is very attentive. No notes, 5/5.

It's a very nice small restaurant, in a good place. We like the ambiance very much, the services were ok, ( sometimes the customers are not all of them from England, so therefore a slightly understanding from the waiters are very welcome, and the discussion a little rare is much appreciated). We enjoyed all the food, the carots and asparagus were amazing, very delicious almost everything we order, a small disappointment it was the beef because in our opinion it was not as delicious as we expected to be.

Chef’s table was well worth a visit. Although it’s at a premium price point (£170 for two, excluding drinks) everything was beautifully prepared and service was attentive and lovely throughout. The stand-outs were the amuse-bouche selection from the chef, and the beef main course. Although the server never asked how we like the beef prepared, it was beautifully cooked and perfect to our taste. My only criticisms are: 1. The focaccia bread, where you only get one piece between two people 2. The restaurant was very, very hot despite the door being wedged open to offer some relief. It was a nice touch that the chef came out to speak to diners and check they were having a good night. Flavour-wise, this was 10/10!

This was a truly stunning experience. To be welcomed and cared for throughout so warmly was wonderful. The food was on a stratospheric level. The Chef came out at the end of our meal to ask what was our highlight, we couldn't identify any single thing so beautiful was everything that we chose to eat. I haven't enjoyed a meal as much....ever! Miles assisted with descriptions of the wine that he had carefully paired with each course. It really was excellent. Highly recommended. Thankyou so much for such a stunning experience.

We went here last night to celebrate our wedding anniversary and were not disappointed! From the minute we walked in everything was perfect, the service, atmosphere and the food was to die for. We went for the five course tasting menu which was amazing, the flavours fantastic as was the presentation, even the chef came out to ask us how the evening had gone. Although not cheap this restaurant is worth every penny and I would highly recommend it, we will certainly be going back!!

A truly exceptional meal. We opted for the seven course tasting as it had good options for my pescatarian partner. Every dish was lovely and showed remarkable flavours and attention to detail. The wine flight was also interesting and very well considered and presented. I don't agree with one of the comments about the size of the glasses, we felt they were on the generous side and left us enough to sip between courses. It can be a cliché to say "Can't understand why you don't have a Michelin star" but in this case it really does apply. Maybe it's the lack of frippery (amuse-bouche, petit-fours) but they really aren't needed here. The pricing can make it more of a special occasion venue, though there is now a lighter - and less expensive - lunch menu. Highly recommended.

I have never paid so much for so little food in my life. It was NOT the experience I had hoped for for my birthday treat. I phoned ahead TWICE to say I had a wheat intollerance (so they could offer wheat free options). This turned out to be a waste of time as when we arrived the waitress behaved as if she was hearing this for the first time. I was offered dishes that could be presented WITHOUT the wheat component ( which I could have done myself, as it is what I usually have to do). Therefore my choice from the menu was severely restricted. Bad experience. I would not recommend this place as there are FAR better options availalble in a city the size of Bristol. The chef didn't like hearing this.

Mind-blowing service. What a treat really ✨ The service is top notch. Foods are finger licking good. Overall vibe is just so apt with 80's 90's songs in background. Bathroom is creatively sustainable 😂 Loved the idea of wash basin over flush tank. Also, no paper towel rather, fresh hand towels. Really fine dine. Words cannot describe their quality. Superb ❤️ Highly highly recommended. My favourite ones are chicken liver pudding, scallop and soufflé.

We went for lunch on Valentine's Day and had a 6-course tasting menu with a glass of champagne each to start with. Really nice food, beautifully presented. The turbot main course was particularly memorable. It's a very small restaurant with tables shoe-horned in for the maximum number of covers. It's always packed so booking is essential. A £50 deposit was taken at the time of booking and then subtracted from the final bill. There's good parking right opposite which is unusual considering how anti-car Bristol is! Total bill was £203.06 including drinks and a 12.5% service charge. Definitely recommended for fine dining.

I hadn’t been to The Chef’s Table for a while but after last nights visit to celebrate my wife’s birthday with family, I realised what I’d been missing! Conrad’s food has always been excellent and last night it was exceptional! We had the 5 course tasting menu which was excellent and was accompanied by a member of staff explaining each of the choices. Mentioning the staff, well, they were brilliant too and at the end of the evening the Head Chef visited our table to find out our views on our evening.

Gracias.
