We had a fish & chips evening for our church Alpha evening. It was a big order and the service was 5*. Everyone loved it! The food was delicious with great portions. Extras of gravy and curry sauce went down a treat. We would highly recommend them.

My Dad is 92, he doesn't eat and can't cook or use a microwave anymore due to memory loss, he forgets quite a lot however he always likes Hamblins, the Staff always take good care of him and I know if they were not there he wouldn't eat, I can't thank the staff enough

Really great service, friendly staff. I had the potato scallop which was incredible and lots of toppings offered. Vegan chicken strips were great too 👍🏼

Grabbed takeout from here, and it did not disappoint! The fish and chips were spot on, and we also got the chicken and sausages – everything was super tasty. The homemade sauces like the garlic mayo, chili mayo, and gravy were a great addition. The staff were really friendly and made the whole experience. Definitely recommend if you're after some good food.

I was passing through and didn't know it was a take away shop. The owner was so friendly and immediately asked me to sit down so I could eat there. Everything was freshly prepared and tasted very tasty. The price-performance ratio is also great.

I ended up arriving earlier than scheduled for the restaurant I was interested in, but the restaurant was refreshingly simple and clean, and there were delicious-looking fish and sausages lined up in front of the store, so I was very impressed. ! I ordered the small cod and cheesy chips and they were hot, crispy and really delicious! The guy at the store was very helpful and I really liked the taste before going, while ordering, and after taking out!

Owner of the store was really friendly and provided excellent and fast service, food tasted spectacular too. Definitely one of the best fish and chips I've had.

I was working in Bristol and came here last night following recommendations on this site and wasn't disappointed. Friendly staff, large portions, well cooked to order. And because it was my first visit they gave me a free portion of home made tartare sauce. Highly recommended.

Food: a very good chippy, well prepped, well seasoned good times for all. The sauces.... stop right there.... these homemade sauces are unreal, whatever you want it's there and dam good. The service: charismatic, sociable and entertaining. Atmosphere: Arm chairs x2. Enjoy

First time visiting Hamblins tonight and it certainly won’t be the last. I had 2 small cod and chips and I have to say, the portion size was excellent value for money and the curry sauce was another level. Highly recommend

We went out of our way to go back to Hamblins after a really great first experience. And we were not disappointed with the second experience either! The batter on the fish is out of this world, and the small Cod was well bigger than somewhere we went last week (which claimed to be an extra large Cod). Keep it up Hamblins - the reviews speak for themselves… you’re up there with the best!

What a chippy should be. A good variety of different items on the menu and the fish is cooked fresh and is fabulous. Lovely chips and all at a reasonable price. Parking is not too difficult so no excuse not to go treat yourself

I've been here twice. Both times I was served beautiful fresh fish, perfectly cooked, and a generous portion of chips. Their homemade tartare sauce is lovely too. Very highly recommended.

Popped in spontaneously for the first time and we are so glad we did! They were so welcoming and so, SO generous with the serving (we only ordered a small cod with their homemade tartar sauce, but walked out with a handful of goods as seen in photo). Wished we lived closer, but we will definitely come back whenever we’re craving a good fish & chips… thanks so much!

Me and my bf got fish, chips, & burgers here the other day and wow, this might be the best fish and chips I've ever had! So delicious, cooked to perfection, the staff were so lovely in there too and glad I listened to the chefs recommendation of having some spice in the burger - it was so tasty! Great chip shop! They were friendly and welcoming. I brought a small fish and chips which was fresh and tasty and more than enough for me. The shop has a cosy seating area and the wait for my order wasn't very long at all.

Outstanding! Favourite place in all of Bristol, I've tried quite a few in Bristol over the past 7 years and Hamblins has taken the top slot. They make their own sauces, every one is delicious. The portions are generous, batter is very light, and fish is magnificent 👌 ✨️ great team behind the counter and im struggling to not go back every week atm!

We always receive a warm welcome on arrival. It’s been great to find a fish and chip shop that serves such a variety of food which is hot and full of flavour! The fish is always flakey and has crispy batter. Really recommend the homemade sauces, particularly the garlic mayo, tartare sauce and curry sauce. Often recommend them to friends and family around Bristol.

This family run fish & chip shop, is my favourite in Bristol. I'm a regular visitor when I treat myself to fish, chips & curry sauce for lunch. I always buy extra for my work colleagues & they always remark on how good the chips are. They obviously use good quality potatoes & change the oil regularly. I love the fish too, its always fresh, beautifully white with a light crispy batter. The curry sauce is nice & thick, with the perfect amount of spice. Everything is always freshly cooked, to perfection. The guy who serves me, is super friendly. He makes me feel like a valued customer. He always welcomes me with a smile & occasionally when I place a big order, he throws things in for free. I highly recommend Hamblins to anyone who appreciates good quality food. It's not cheap, but it's worth every penny

Tried Hamblins for the first time last night after seeing great reviews about them online and they certainly lived up to them. All of the food was excellent with the perfect amount of crispy batter on the fish. Very tasty chips which were lovely and fresh and great portion sizes. Service was brilliant and the person serving us was extremely friendly and helpful. Couldn’t fault them and some of the best fish and chips we have had. Will definitely be coming back!

Just stunning 😍 Now my favourite chip shop in Bristol. Can't believe I haven't tried them before. Good sized portions and LUSH flavours. Fish was really tasty and incredible batter. Chips as they should be, crispy with soft fluffy centre. Service was friendly and welcoming. Honestly truly the best in Bristol.
