Visited Bath on a weekend away when the Christmas Markets were on. Enjoyed a fabulous Champagne Afternoon Tea at The Gainsborough Hotel by the fire. Delicious food and a very impressive location. Staff were also very helpful. Overall a very very pleasant experience. Would 100% recommend for anyone visiting Bath.

Straight forward simple food at very reasonable prices and plenty of space to sit and enjoy. Very nice to be able to find a cafe in such a central position in Bath without the usual high st chain paraphernalia.

Our family of four arrived in Bath without a reservation to The Pump Room, but thought we might give it a try after a morning of sightseeing. I waited in line to ask if there might be any openings, and sweet James informed me that there just might be for the next seating. I offered to wait, if he didn't mind me hanging around the lobby, and he said that would be a great idea. First dibs! Just about 15 minutes later, James told me our family's table was ready. I couldn't believe it! The sun was shining, there was magic in the air and a quartet was just preparing to play beautiful music. Believe me, I was not at all dressed for the gorgeous atmosphere, but James assured me I'd fit right in and called me "lovely." Emily, our server, was attentive to the needs of my mother-in-law's allergies and my young son's tastes. In short, this sweet occasion marked one of the highlights of our trip â and our lives. The food was tasty, the tea delicious and, most of all, we felt so special. Thanks to James and Emily! :)

We just went for a massage, and the whole thing felt luxury. My partner and I had the ease your tension massage. We were asked to wait in a lovely spa lounge with a variety of waters, and then taken to our massage rooms. The masseuse was warm and professional, listening to specific parts I wanted targeted and working with skill. Great experience!

This is a cracking place. Superb small plate dining - if you don't mind small plates. Places like this are very rare, unpretentious, knowledgeable staff, beautiful and comfortable interior design, excellent menu. One can walk through and choose wine from their wine shop and there's no corkage charge - what could be better. Very good selection of off-the-beaten-track wines. One of the most enjoyable lunches we've had anywhere.

I travel quite a lot with work and like to look for independent accommodation outside of Premier Inn and Travelodge.. I stayed here last night and I found it to be a SUPERB place to eat and stay at ! Bed and Breakfast was ÂŁ74 and I had a lovely 3 course meal for ÂŁ32. Genuinely, I have not found a better restaurant and accommodation throughout the UK for a business trip. The rooms are clean, classy, comfortable and such good value. This, alone, would guarantee a great review but then I went downstairs to the pub for dinner. It was truly delicious and full of flavour. I learnt that all of the menu is freshly and home made by the friendly and very talented chef and each course was piping hot. As a starter, I had the mushroom with goats cheese and onion jam. Main course was pork shoulder, mash with veg and incredible gravy ! Dessert was apple & cider crumble with custard. This was a 10/10 dinner and couldn't be faulted. All of the staff were incredibly welcoming. I visited on a Tuesday night and it was fully booked. It is obviously very popular and appears to be a hidden gem. Thank you to all of the team and I hope to revisit here in the future - this is a great place to stay at for a visit to Bath !

Went to Bath for the day and very hungry when we arrived around 1 oâclock. Found this little cafe near the Abbey and although it had only outside seating left we decided to eat there. The âcourtyardâ was under cover and we were sat under a heater so it was fine, we ordered English breakfast (served all day) and coffee. When the breakfasts came they had, I egg, 1 sausage, half a tomato, chopped mushrooms, around 4 slices of streaky bacon and a slice of toast. At just under ÂŁ14 one of the most expensive Iâve eaten, maybe because of being in Bath but Iâve had better breakfast at a much lower price elsewhere, that said the service was ok and it was clean. I did note they add a service charge which is a pet hate of mine!

The staff were friendly and prompt. The food was piping hot fresh. I tried the steak and ale pasty (yes that's spelled right) and my wife had the chorizo version. They were pretty good! The kiddos had donuts which they loved. They opened at 7:30 but didn't have pasties ready till about 8:30am.
