The best restaurants serving British food in South West

Been here twice, friendly service, food is great! Cooking time isn't too long, great place to stop by for a snacky lunch. First time here I bought a chip butty and the server did not skimp out on the chips! Today I opted for a bacon and egg roll, fairly priced at £4.20 and listening to the bacon crackle and the egg cooking just made me hungrier (lol!). I purchase food and take it home, but there is outdoor seating available if you'd like to stick around and eat there (for example today it was very sunny and dry out, so there were people sitting out and eating).

Fui detenido y literalmente en viviendo el momento para un bocado ligero y nos encontramos con una cordial bienvenida. El lugar estaba a tope y después pedir del menú (creo casero comida de la cafetería) que comimos y disfrutamos y, a los parroquianos y nattering averiguar lo que estaba ocurriendo localmente. Gran loos también! Todo muy limpio y ordenado.

Increíble pequeño café con un personal maravilloso, tan amable y servicial, la comida también deliciosa y tan buenos precios, tan genial para tener algo tan agradable para los niños en el centro de Bath.

We visited on Monday 12th August. Before setting out I checked their website which said opens at 11.30. We arrived 12.15 only to find it was all shut up. We weren't the only ones to arrive and be disappointed. Not a good way to run a business.

If you have spare £100 , go do something more meaningful, it's absolutely overrated restaurant In a recessive economy, you should spend money cautiously and this restaurant should be avoided at all cost as it's not worth it at all Price is excessive, food quality is average, there is no reason to charge £100 for atmosphere and vibe.

Only real negative is the cafe has only a small seating area. You can put your name on a queue but peak summer this could be a long wait. We were lucky and only had to wait 20mins. Food, service, etc all fantastic.

I booked this place for a two day training event in one of their small meeting rooms (The Beatles Room). A stunning and different location, overlooking the lake…best of all was the food…breakfast, lunch and afternoon cake, all except t ing with really good service. I will definitely use again when I’m working in this part of the country.

Read about this place on National Geographic magazine years ago and always wanted to try. The Sunday Roast sharing platter was perfectly cooked and the vegetables were amazingly tasty. Portions were very generous as well. The staff were very attentive and friendly.

Recommended by the group from my holiday accommodation nears Holsworthy. Thought we would give it a go to get my scone fix ….. wow We went for “The misfits” (large cheese scone & one sweet scone) definitely the right choice Delicious 😋….. the choice of cakes are amazing & never seen such large giant cakes …… just brilliant 😊

Great choice of good food served by knowledgeable staff

Great little cafe, lovely outlook near the river. Food delicious, generous portions, very reasonably priced and polite, helpful and friendly service. Will definitely be returning when in Taunton.

Excellent, superb, we will be back. The food, staff and ambiance are first class. The staff are just lovely.

We called in for lunch,dog friendly outside area great,excellent service,friendly staff,we had a large salad with extras,wonderful,a plate of dog biscuits for our dog ,presented wonderfully,couldn’t fault this place,quirky inside,great toilet facilities,we bought bread and cakes to take away,all wonderful,bread baked on site,well worth a visit,we highly recommend this place,

What Bruce Rennie is doing here is truly special: a one-man band hosting a limited number of guests in a very tasteful dinner club kind of atmosphere with seafood prepared at highest level of skills with regional and seasonal produce of wonderful quality. Don’t miss it!
