The best restaurants serving British food in Woking South East

This is the second time I have ordered a cake from Sweet Passion Cakes and I've been blown away again. This time I ordered a bespoke baptism cake (Belgian chocolate). Ordering is so easy, I sent across some design and colour palette ideas and the rest I left in their creative hands. WOW! Absolutely stunning cake, delicious and the perfect centre piece. Probably the worst fish and chips I have ever eaten, tepid, overcooked and the "Yorkshire mushy peas" defied the Trade Descriptions Act. For a meal which was almost double the price of my local supplier "Rip off" seems an apt description.

Food was good and service was great.

Another lovely meal at what I think is the best pub in the area by a mile. Had the Sunday beef roast which was absolutely delicious.Lovely blackberry crumble afterwards.Superb service from everyone at the olive tree as usual:):):)

We had a lovely experience at the harvester. Lynsey was our server and she is friendly and goes above and beyond.l especially with our children. She is acredit to the staff! We visit again and again.

Eaten here a few times recently and I'm loving it!! The spicy Jack Burger is a favorite and the monthly Seafood night is Awesome!! Get yourselves down there!!Bosh

I’m not going to lie, I love a premier inn, they are spotlessly clean and so comfortable, but not d never eaten at one until tonight. I can get past the fact it’s all brought in prepared and pinged but for the love of God they need to season the food. Oh t wasn’t cooked well but I was hungry and not the worse crime but steak, tomato, chips, mushroom, rocket and not even a single grain of salt. No condiments on the table, no walking around allowed, no one asking if I need anything… Shame as the staff are actually very nice. I’d rather go back to school for a meal. Very disappointing and not worth the hefty bill which is making me feel resentful l. Never again :(

Had roast beef today. Was excellent. All fresh veg etc. Cauliflower gratin was really nice .100% value for money. Would highly recommend it

Awesome desserts love the place

Booked it for a celebration for Nephew's birthday it was very busy. Loved the atmosphere and food but it was extremely busy on a lovely Sunday evening even at 6:30 pm. Loads of customers so service was a little slow however it did not ruin the food or the experience at this pub restaurant. One advice I would give beforehand is to book a table in advance just because it's very busy on most evenings and you don't want to be disappointed.

Was there for the Tuesday quiz - great fun and a decent food beer and cocktail menu to keep the team happy. Will definitekg be back!

We booked a table for 4 on a Sunday afternoon for 4pm. We arrived slightly late due to local traffic and were seated at 4.15. Despite ordering drinks on arrival , by 4.45pm there had still not arrived. When they did arrive, the waiter then stated "let me start by telling you what is not available". On Sunday's, the Anchor has a special Sunday menu mainly consisting of Sunday roast options. Despite advertising Beef, Chicken and Pork roast options, we were told that there was no Pork or Chicken left and only enough beef for 3 people. We ordered two beef and two Hake options. The beef dishes arrived fairly quickly but we were then left embarrassed as the two hake options failed to arrive. This left two of my party have to start their meals before all guests had their food. We were given the excuse that the restaurant had been busy. This is not acceptable. Management must have been able to foresee that on a Sunday during half term and with the weather good, it was likely that they would be busy. If you are not going to be able to cope when it is busy then close the restaurant in the afternoon or at least provide a warning to customers when booking on line that late afternoon bookings are likely to receive a limited service. This was a family birthday lunch and very disappointing. The only saving grace was our waiter who was working very hard. It was clear that the restaurant was understaffed as he was trying to look after about 15 tables! I will not be returning.
