Poppins Restaurant in Woking

Sat outside in the sunshine for a lovely breakfast. The very engaging waitress served us piping hot full English and omelette with strong coffees. Watched the world waking up and going to work, while we were looking forward to flying away! Perfect.

We had a good breakfast seated outside on a hot morning. Service excellent. Menu range great, cooking and ingredients good. Inexpensive. Very pleasant.

I do like poppins the food is good and the staff super friendly...... however I do think smoking in the outside area should be stopped it comes into the cafe and is very off putting

A dry and sunny morning facilitates comfortable outside seating at Poppins. The service , presentation and prices are very good. Menu attractive. Cooking less greasy than before we think, overall quality matches more expensive local competitors. Coffee ok, not great. Overall, excellent proposition. Cafe inside is uncomfortable.

I go here weekly the food is always amazing and never a let down the family that own it have become really good friends so friendly couldnt ask for more!

Busy, popular , fast service, well run. Good menu ranges, cheap and cheerful yes and has a lot going for it especially if time is limited.

Comfortable outside, uncomfortable inside. Popular cafe with plus points of friendly service, extensive menus and competitive pricing. Quite good quality of ingredients and cooking, but ( do not be surprised) not up to standard of some of the more expensive breakfast providers in Woking. Will go back, yes

I requested a latte at popins and received hot milk with slight colour of coffee, no taste just milk. When pointing this out, the assistant said that’s what a latte is, hot milk with a little coffee, I explained that it’s hot milk with enough coffee to taste added. The assistant said that’s wrong! Please train staff how to make a latte.

We do enjoy having breakfast here, restaurant is clean and the menu is extensive. The kids normally have pancakes (they are some of the best we've had in England), but the cooked breakfasts are nice as well. Overall you good portions of get tasty food and there is something for everyone on their menu.

Very good for the low prices charged. Wide breakfast menu, sound coffee, very efficient service, but the only comfortable seating is outside. Quite pleasant.

Serious hygiene issue more than one hair inside breakfast delivered via Uber. Ended up throwing out. Troubling in these times.

At first I was skeptical as I was looking for something to order while at work, thought I would give this place a try. Honestly I made the right decision, presentation was amazing and the food was phenomenal!! They called me just before the double check I was okay with some ingredients in what I ordered, they’re so lovely and attentive and I think it’s fair to say I have a new obsession! 💛💛💛💛💛

I came here for breakfast when working in Woking. The cafe is in the town centre and has indoor and outdoor seating. You can get a wide range of breakfasts and they’re all really big portions but still quite cheap well worth a visit

Pop into Poppins for traditional cafe food. This cafe actually has fresh cooked vegetables as well as traditional meat dishes and a great range of deserts. It is also great for teas, coffees and smoothies. I had shepherds pie with peas, carrots and roast potatoes.

Got their beef roast and lemon meringue pie. The beef was very tender but the veggies and the gravy were very bland. The lemon meringue pie was very good. We got thr gravy on the side but we finished it all anyway.

Nice and cheap. Everyone is very friendly and the food is absolutely delightful. Will certainly be returning.

The brunch food is very good, reasonably priced, good service and very busy BUT uncomfortable( unless you sit outside)

I came here for a vegetarian breakfast which was very nice with baked beans, grilled tomatoes, a vegetarian burger, fried egg, fried bread and mushrooms. It was £5.50 without a tea so a little expensive maybe.

This is a very popular what you would classically call a greasy spoon . Bot don't let that fool you. This place has great British fare. It is always busy, the staff are excellent and you get a proper cup of tea. Pie chips and beans with gravy, Liver and onions, full English, you get the idea. And all for very reasonable prices.

We enjoyed breakfast at this busy cafe, Good sausage sandwich and latte coffee , keen pricing and good service, but rather cramped seating can detract.

Myself and my husband have been coming to this restaurant for years. We are always treated like part of the family and have built up a good relationship with the owners. When I walk in they know my order (set 2 and a fizzy drink) and are always smiling. Lovely place for a full English. The food portions are really good sizes and a very good price.

Always good for a decent and inexpensive breakfast. The menu looks fairly decent . Tables are a little cramped for comfort . By the time you get your coffee, breakfast and phone on the table there's not a lot of space left, especially if your not alone! Good service though, and it won't break the bank

Called in for lunch - staff were very friendly and helpful and I noticed were awesome with what seemed to be regular customers. Food was hot and large portions excellent value for money

Every year before our traditional day out at Twickenham half a dozen of us gather here for breakfast.

Small friendly cafe with a very varied menu. Extremely tasty meals, perhaps not 'health food' but OK for a treat. The desserts are great and a big favourite with children. Choc-Log pancake anyone? Paul Jonsson, Woking.

Proper Full English. Will fill you up and set you up for the day. Good food without the frills. Yopu just can't go wrong here.

Have dined here for breakfast on several occasions and never been disappointed. We always get the mega breakfast including eggs, bacon, sausage, chips, mushrooms, tomatoes for only 6+£. A great deal for so much food. The smoothies are lovely as is the mocha coffee. Service is always very fast and friendly. The only con I have seen is the sausages are always weirdly soft inside. I think they may deep fry them which gives a great crisp shell but leaves the inside undesirable and left on the plate. Would recommend this for a quick friendly breakfast.

El personal era muy amable y mi hijo menor incluso aparecimos ya salchichas cortar para él. Me di cuenta de que hacer un asado los domingos, que todavía tengo que probar. Si te apetece un buen desayuno completo inglés, tienen un montón de variaciones. La comida era sabrosa y llegamos todos el momento en que había sido hecho. Dos comidas de adultos y niños, una comida de tres bebidas por 15 libras. Recomendado.

Just normal English breakfast. I couldn't enjoy the time fully because of the uncomfortable table and chairs.

Ate here with 3 others for a breakfast get together. Good selection on the menu, good portions and cooked fresh. Staff are attentive and everything delivered in good time. We'll be back again.

Used to be really good. Just moved back to the area and was really looking forward to a nice breakfast but was disappointed. Had a vegetarian and a normal breakfast with tea and cappuccino. Bubble and speak had no taste whatsoever, bacon was overcooked, sausages and hash browns were poor quality, toast was burned and tea and coffee were bitter. Tomatoes and mushrooms just tasted of whatever they were fried in. Only plus is the low prices. Won't return.

Llevé a mi madre aquí para su primera visita en agosto después oyó los niños comentan sobre ella. Nunca ha de esperar mucho tiempo para el servicio y la comida siempre de primera categoría, sobre todo las hamburguesas y tortillas. Los precios son muy razonables.

Buen lugar para un buen desayuno por un precio razonable. Yo me encanta este lugar y volver a menudo recomiendo a mis amigos.

Thank you to everyone in Poppins for a hot and enjoyable lunch,the smoothies are a real treat and everything is affordable,so many new restaurants have opened in Woking recently but none have the selection of meals and drinks like Poppins,and they are all to expensive,long may Poppins continue.

Had a couple of breakfasts in here, not my usual type of place, but the food was more than adequate, served quickly, by friendly staff, football on tele, so something to look at as well while you gorge on your Eggs and Bacon etc.Fairly good prices as well and good portions. One issue, most cafes serve crap sausages, this place is no different, Cumberland sausages should be banned in my humble opinion.

What you see is what you get. This is a simple, decent British cafe serving breakfast and and dishes. It does what it says on the tin. Recommended.

Had lunch at popping today. Good choice of food including about six daily specials. For about £13 we got two reasonable meals with hot drinks. Just what we wanted before shopping in Woking. Fairly quick and polite service and ideal for quick lunch. Better food around Woking but serves a purpose.

Have been better impressed with other Poppins franchises. Average breakfast, wasnt overly impressed with quality of food especially as 3 breakfasts and 4 soft drinks came to £30

It does what it says on the tin : a simple café which serves a great English breakfast with tea or coffee along with juices. The service is quick and efficient, and the staff are friendly. What more can you ask for?

This cafe is just off the high st in Woking and is probably the bestCafe in Woking Great food great service and at a good price

We stopped in here on a Saturday morning to get our breakfast before heading into legoland! I had a really tasty sausage sandwich, my partner had some toast as did my daughter. The staff were really friendly and actually had some good banter with us.Very laid back place and would eat here again!!Also very reasonably priced too.

Although this is a small restaurant,the staff are on the ball and the service is fast.My jacket potato was the biggest I've ever had,and my wifes burger was great.Only downside toilets are up some very steep stairs,not easy to climb for the elderly or disabled

A bit on the greasy side but a great all day breakfast bar when you just have to have eggs. Nice wait staff, packs all the time as very price friendly. Could use a refurbishment inside, tables attached to chairs and too tight to sit comfortable and I'm not a beast!

A basic restaurant that obviously caterers for locals who come time and time again. The staff are very friendly and the full English breakfast is very tasty with a big mug of tea!

On of my colleagues from work took me out for lunch at Poppins. He said I wont be disappointed. Well I was not.However if you are expecting fine dining, silver cutleries, white napkins etc you may end up disappointed...but if you are after:- good honest home made food, - friendly and welcoming staff who remember your name, - generous portions- english traditional 'caff ' atmosphere - simple basic decor - great value..you won't be disappointed.

Poppins is essentially a greasy spoon with a few extra bits on the menu, but this one also benefits from friendly and welcoming staff. They also have special boards so check these as well as the usual menu.

we try to stop off here for a breakfast if we have time when shopping in Woking. its a great little café , very popular by all accounts and the menus are great. I like the fact that even though there are 'fixed' menus they are very accommodating and you can change one item for another . I don't know if they allow more than one change but to be honest there are so many to choose from you probably wouldn't need to !!the lunch menu looks good too but haven't tried that one ..................yet !!Very reasonable prices tooits clean , service is good and friendly , food is always hot and you don't wait an eternity to get it !! make a good mug of tea too !!

I have been to this place a few times and always order the roast lamb. Price was reasonable and very tasty roast! Staff was nice and friendly.Seats are not that comfortable to me but that is probably because I'm big build.

Great service, food was plentiful and hot, good selection to choose from and so reasonably priced. It's a basic cafe no frills, but clean and served an excellent breakfast (skipped lunch that day as was still full!). The lunch menu looked equally enticing. Definitely going to revisit. Great value too!

We visited here last Thursday afternoon. It was quite quiet, the first table we sat it had someones belongings on who was sitting at another table. They then came over and picked up their belongings, looking at us as if we were causing them an inconvience. We sat down and realised that we possible picked the worse table to sit at, as ever time the front door opened we got cold air from outside. The service was ok, i was surprised to find that there was no sugar on the tables, and we had to ask the waitress for an exact number of sachets that we would like. The food was lovely, not greasy and was very quick to be served. We will dine here again, as it is one of my grandads favorite places to eat. I can highly recommend the Ham and Chesse Omelette, the prawn salad did look a little bit sad though, just basic salad ingredients. It would have been a nice touch if the salads looked more appealing and not just the basic lettece, Slices of Onion (loads of), a couple of large slices of tomato - maybe a few sliced peppers or something like that to makethe salad look a bit more than a larger side salad.

Inexpensive food and amazing breakfasts ! Be aware It is generally busy and sometimes hard to find a table as it is a tiny restaurant. Service is friendly and attentive. Always go there if fancy breakfast. Would definitely recommend !

We dropped in here for a coffee rather than going to Caffe Nero nearby. The coffee was fine (and so was the second one - we stayed for quite a long time!) and the service was extremely friendly. There is a large upstairs room (unseen from below) and very nice loos. It's definitely nicer inside than it looks from outside.

My parents moved to woking in april 13 and we moved nearby in aug 13. This is the only place i woking that servea good hinest food at good honest price. It is spotlessly clean (i am extremely fussy with such things) and the service is friendly and faultless. The young lady in there knows my daughter by name and greets her with a big hug. She knows mine and mums drinks orders. Its little things that keep you going back.they will accomodate any special requests as much as possible. But you never see the oiks in here that you see hanging rou d the food stalls on the market.would reccomend just about everything on the menu. The roast dinners are huge. A great specials board and brilliant kids menu offering jackets and not just chicken nuggets and chips (they are also available).would 100% recommend

We love coming here ! The food is good and freshly prepared. Breakfasts are great, and they never say no for swapping an item for another. Service is friendly and attentive (the Turkish lady is the best ! ). We always feel welcome and the food is inexpensive ! Would definitely recommend !

A simple restaurant that doesn’t shout out loud to you in the face, but with a few simple signboards outside advertising their fare, Poppins Restaurant offers all day breakfast and very traditional English dishes. This restaurant is more like a café than a restaurant. Fixed seats and tables make the place very structured and organised. Upon sitting down, there was someone to take our order but because it was our first time there we needed time to decide what to order from the menu. We went for a Chef’s Special English breakfast and Fish and Chips. English breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs, gammon, tomatoes, green peas and mushrooms. There was a choice between tomatoes and baked beans. They are very flexible and when we asked if we could swap the chips for roasted potatoes or mash, they very willingly obliged. The waiter didn’t need to have a notebook and remembered all our orders. Food took a few minutes longer than other cafes but the food was piping hot and tasted very fresh. To me that could mean that everything was cooked on the spot and not pre-prepared. Price wise the food is very reasonable and we paid less than 20 quid including 2 lattes.4 stars overall for a good meal.
