The best restaurants serving British food in The Alresfords Winchester South East

On a cold February we called in to Arlesford after visiting The Grange. We thought that we just wanted a sandwich but were tempted by the 6oz cheese burgers at only £6.00. They proved to be the largest burgers we have ever had and were supplied by the local butcher. They were well cooked and tasty, the service was excellent, the ladies were chatting to everyone who came in and obviously have a great local trade. At £16 for two burgers and two teas we thought it great value. We’d definitely come again.

Our table wasn’t ready when we arrived, they were very slow to take our orders and the when the food finally arrived it was cold. There was also a pub dog that came and begged at our table. Very average experience

We stopped for coffee and cake and struggled to find a seat, number control of customers was not controlled and it wasn’t a relaxing morning break. We will not be re visiting

Really surprised how good this was! Cheap at £18 for this much quality, An experience! Every mouthful coloured by subtle nuances of flavour that left me thinking 'what was that!?' Best ever wellington and delicious veg and gravy to boot. So glad we came and we will be back! Quick and friendly service. Loved it!

First visit since before Christmas so we thought we'd go on Wednesday for the fish and chip deal. Gone are the lovely staff we remember. Despite being asked if we wanted any sauces they never came, the room was quiet with only one other table occupied as opposed to the buzz there has always been in the past. Have they all gone somewhere else? We will from now on. Very sad. End of an era?

This is a busy cafe with a lovely buzzy atmosphere. I had the veg bowl with beetroot dressing and it was utterly delicious. Friendly staff. And of course there’s so much lovely shopping to be done in the shop afterwards!

This is one of the best places we've been to for a long time. Beautiful pub, lots of history, excellent food and a great atmosphere. Huge shout out specifically, to James who is an absolute asset to the pub. Very friendly, knowledgeable and a brilliant host. Cannot recommend The Milbury enough - will definitely be a favourite

Came across this after taking grandchildren on Watercress Line.Lovely roast dinner for only £7.50 , a Weds special, tasty welsh rarebit too. Reasonable prices.

Excellent 2 course evening meal and good ale.

Stayed hear overnight in the campervan which was excellent. Had a meal in the pub. A little disappointed with the food menu.
