Visited for a light lunch, food was of high quality and good value, large selection. opted to sit in, as first time visitors we were unsure what was on offer, and we weren't offered menus. Got up from the table to browse in the display, when we were ordered back to our seats by a staff member! Perhaps just being covid officious? Made deciding what order difficult! Menus would be a suggestion! Would definatley return

I have visited this place on a number of occasions and always really enjoyed the huge variety of cakes and pastries on display- always something different (although the bacon and cheese turnover is a personal favourite) and I always take something home for the family when passing. The coffee is nice and strong- as I ask for it- and I can recommend highly. The presence of lots of passing trade and regular visits from cycling clubs indicate that it's not just me who is a satisfied customer.

We were visiting Alresford and ended up here as a cheaper alternative to the nearby pubs. The staff were great and the food was good. We then went for a walk along the river and returned for some cake and had the same great service. We were a group of seven and they did everything to get us seated together. Great all round!

As a stranger to Alresford I asked in the toy shop for a recommendation for a light lunch. Heidi's was perfect! Hot rolls, pasties and 'things' on toast, or cold baps or sandwiches. Cakes available from the patisserie which looked gorgeous. Plentiful tea or coffee. And a welcome second to none! I'll be back again.

Popped in here on a miserable wet day. The ladies were very chatty and cheered us up. Good selection of cakes and drinks, hot and cold food. Clean friendly place in the centre of Alresford. Very handy for pies and food to take away when visiting the Watercress line Railway, only a two minute walk away. Recommended.

We rocked up completely soaked after riding for several hours in the pouring rain. They gave us bin bags to cover the seats, took our order at the table, refilled our water bottles, and served us in double quick time. They were smiling and friendly the whole time, and the food was delicious. Excellent experience!

…from this bright corner café-bakery – now the lunch spot of choice on our occasional visits to Alresford. tried to get a table but were none, very small place, everyone sitting around, they had finished their lunches but no one moving off the tables. Staff were not that friendly either, no suggestion of coming back, or if someone was about to pay etc... so with that we ordered some jam doughnuts to take away and some fresh bread, 6 doughnuts were £7.20!!! ridiculous price and they were awful, so doughy and absolutely laded with sugar, to the extreme!. My husband who was not with us when bought, said it was the worse tasting doughnut ever, even though they looked lovely. Bread was over £3 a loaf and was not that great at all. overall glad we did not stay for lunch, so expensive for a coffee shop, over rated and poor quality even though items looked very nice.

Visited here with a few members of my family for lunch and treats. The staff were so so bubbly and smiley, you could tell straight away that the patisserie had a warm friendly feel to it. The food display was amazing, we had a few complex dietary requirements that were expertly catered for and were attended too very well. The cakes and pastries were so good it was hard to make a choice. We will definitely be going back there. A wonderful experience. P.S. The Christmas window display is the best in Alresford if not Hampshire. 😊

We stopped for a coffee but stayed and had lunch here on Saturday . Homemade quich with salad and hot drink for just over £5 meal deal, my husband had a Cornish pastie which was full to the brim with meat and veg, we had florentine and iced ring doughnut plus cappuccinos, it was so good we went back to their branch in Petersfield this week. But the staff in Alresford were much more attentive and on the ball. Food as good in both.

You just have to love the tempting array of cakes and bread on display at Heidi's, however you have to have a full purse to buy a bag of cakes. I visit there occasionally when I want to treat myself, but with most cakes around £1.50 and cream cakes even more, it turns out quite expensive when treating the grandchildren. Having said that though they are always delicious.

We came here before a trip on the watercress line. Lovely staff, very friendly, and the food was superb. We all had coffees and delicious cakes. What was nice to note was that the cafe was airy and light and very clean, which was good. We bought sandwiches to take away for a picnic later in the day (delicious) plus more cake for dessert (also delicious!) and then we even bought watercress and cheese scones for our supper that evening and they were also great! Worst bacon sanger ever. Me and my pal asked to share a large baguette as the smaller ones looked burnt. We were charged for 4 bacon rolls. The halved baguette had 3 half cooked slices of low quality bacon inside. As you can imagine the disappointment that loomed over us was extreme. How does six slices of bad bacon ammount to the cost of four rolls just because we shared a slightly larger loaf of crunchy bread whichh could break the tusks off a walrus. oh the pear and sultana slice which my pal said would be great was raw. I feel sick now from the food and from the dent in the wallet.

£11 for two savoury items, two sweet and two hot drinks. At many other cafes it would cost at least double this! Staff incredibly friendly and attentive and food fresh and delicious! My only point for improvement would be the coleslaw: it didn't seem to have the purple of the cabbage or the orange of carrot so lacked colour and flavour. The mayonnaise was also too thick and creamy. Other than that it'd be five stars from us! Definitely five on customer service though.

How can you mess up a Ploughman’s Lunch? Come to the D&C and see. Microwaved half baguette that went dry, crisp and stale immediately. Cheese was appalling. The worst type of cheap, tasteless, doughy cheddar. Pork pie that was missing the pork. We will not be returning.

We thought it was good but no more. The staff were very polite and attentive. Excellent sourdough (although would of been nice to be included on a £49.95 for 3 course lunch) and cracking pigs in blankets. Cured trout was a lovely light starter. Beef fillet although accurately cooked lacked the wood fired characteristics. A fillet really doesn't have enough time to get flavour from the wood fired oven due to its size. Other larger cuts of beef with some fat would be a better choice. Accompanying veg were ok but the cauliflower cheese again lacked any of the advertised 'wood fired' flavour and cheese sauce a little thin. We also thought this recently when dining in the Avenue restaurant what a shame there are no real local sparkling wines listed. Yes Ridgeview is in Southern England but some 70 miles away. You've got excellent quality producers like Black Chalk, Hattingley Valley, Louis Pommery, Raimes, Candover Brook and The Grange all within 10 miles.
