Absolutely wonderful lunch. Everyone did everything possible to make our meal a pleasure. We had a vegan in our party and Karl the chef couldn't have been more helpful. Excellent food (I had the brisket) at a very reasonable price. £20 for 2 courses. We were treated like kings

Another fantastic lunch served by the attentive friendly Nico, food was delicious , very hot. My husband had the lamb kofta which came with a lovely fresh salad including dressing and a grains/rice mixture that he was impressed with. I had the sweet and sour fish which was accompanied by fresh home made chips and prawn crackers. Can't fault the food or service, looking forward to coming back soon.

I used to eat here on a Sunday regularly, all be it a while back. The Sunday roast options were always excellent with a proper home-made taste, Now its a pale imitation, a pseudo roast dinner of misplaced style over substance. A single leaf of Cavolo Nero, on top of that a 3x1 inch portion of Dauphinoise potato and a large quartered segment of very woody parsnip with an overcooked small single carrot laid languidly on top. A couple of slices of beef, somewhat well done casually leaning against the veg tower with it's ubiquitous Yorkshire pudding, all served on a cold plate, which did nothing to retain any meagre heat still present in the actual food. The accompanying soulless side veg, watery flavourless swede and carrot mash, an attempt at creamed cabbage with bacon, pointlessly served to 2 vegetarians who were sat at the table , and a small portion of steamed leaks, which were fine and some green beans, very much not fine, shrivelled for being held too long before serving. The service was good enough, though it did end once the plate was placed on the table. Though it was all let down by the dismally average pretentious food offering.

What a fabulous little pub, had a walk around ogmore Castle, then stopped here for lunch, we both had the curry which was delicious. The service was spot on, the pub was very clean.

Really warm welcome. Dog friendly. We had a Sunday roast, which was excellent.
