The best restaurants serving British food in Battle Town Rother South East

Stayed in Battle for few days had intended to book afternoon tea here but sadly didn’t get round to it, stopped in for breakfast on our last day which was lovely. Lady serving us was very friendly and chatty. We also enjoyed the cakes we bought to take home. Great music playing too.

Visited this restaurant after a chilly afternoon out. Hotel bar was warm and cosy. We ordered a med Sunday roast which was very good, also hot and did not have to wait long. The roast was excellent, as was the mulled wine. The staff were attentive and friendly. Will certainly visit again.

Cappuccino was not cappuccino, just normal coffee with chocolate on. Definitely not worth £3

Lovely menu, lots of choice. Homemade dishes with beautifully cooked vegetables. All beautifully presented. Nice surroundings and friendly atmosphere.

A cracking little pub. We were in Battle as participants at the Battle of Hastings event at the abbey. Popped in on the Friday night, and came back the Saturday it was so nice. Friendly, attentive staff, great atmosphere and one of the finest pints of Harveys in the county..

Great little find! We stopped in for a drink and a little bite to eat. Wasn't dissapointed staff was very friendly and welcoming. Food was really good, and we said one of the best loaded Nacho's we have had. Lovely atmosphere and done some stalking afterwards to see they have a lovely b&b upstairs which i spotted on instagram and have added to my list! Looks very chic! Would definitely come again! Food was ok. Deep fried Camembert was delicious but to only get 5 pieces of calamari for £12 was deeply disappointing. Will take me a long time to get over that.

Met here for our family Christmas meal (group of 15 people). Food was good. Staff were absolutely brilliant! Lovely pub and great service.

Went here for the first time time with my sister for Sunday lunch after a slight mishap at the beginning with service as they was extremely busy the roast beef lunch and sticky toffee pudding for dessert was the best I have had So far in battle,the service was great the food absolutely outstanding and the prices very good i would highly recommend this to anyone and definitely will be coming back for more delicious food
