The best restaurants serving British food in Charles Dickens Portsmouth South East

The food was ok, but the service was embarrassingly slow. When we arrived there were 3 other tables with guests. We waited over 40 minutes for 12 pieces of sushi. Tasted fine but having waited that long, most food would! We then needed to wait another 20mins after that for fish and chips. Staff apologised for the delay and gave us copious tap water. Once food was served no one checked to see if we were ok or needed anything more. There are better places to go for a dinner of that standard.

Had breakfast baguettes with coffee. Tasty and freshly prepared by a friendly member of staff. A welcome result having been let down by the premier inn breakfast!

Today I visited the southsea positive eats on Palmerston Road. From first entering to leaving the whole experience was brilliant. So fresh & clean in there and the girls working were so friendly and gave me advice in what to order etc. I had a boost juice & a build your own bowl which was so worth the price. All fresh ingredients and so much flavour. Will definitely be visiting again!

Incredible Ramen! Blown away to find this here. So fresh and authentic. The dining room is also amazing and Georgian. Will be back to try the rest of the menu

Lovely cafe in a lovely setting , yummy food and very friendly staff. Gorgeous cakes too! Highly recommend. Will visit again.

This hidden gem in Portsmouth historic Dockyard. Very pleasant atmosphere with excellent service from friendly staff, who give you time to ponder your choices. Good value for money.

Had the beer and whiskey tasting session with Bobby. Very welcoming, entertaining and informative. Will definitely be back for the rum tasting.

Visited for a late lunch, large family group. Lovely location with nice views. Great service, good range of hot food and excellent well-stocked salad bar. Good vegan, vegetarian and children's options. Thank you for accommodating our autistic daughter's needs so well.

Great place to grab a pint after day exploring the Navy's Docs

We often like to venture out for a Sunday roast & had been meaning to come to the courtyard for months after seeing their instagram. The setting of the restaurant is truly unique & felt so cosy. The staff were all very welcoming especially Rachael who looked after us. The roast dinner was an absolute 10/10! 4 adults, 3 kids, 7 clean plates. Love the options for adding extra potatoes, pigs in blankets etc. We all had different meats & have said when we go back we will get the sharing roast as they all looked delicious. It really was faultless & we cannot wait to return.

Helpful reception team and exceptionally clean upon arrival, bathrooms smelt noticeably floral and fresh. Myself and two friends visited last Monday evening for her 30th birthday and she chose to come here - Beautiful decor and I would like to add that Oisín gave exceptional service, he is an asset to your team and turned our visit from a 4* to a 5 with his genuine cheer, patience and attentiveness. Great cocktails too! Will be back.

Had a Mother’s Day brunch with family. The cafe was busy but the food and service was excellent, thank you. Hope to return again some day.

My husband and I visited the A Bar Bistro last night for a rare night out on our own. The food was amazing, we both had the ham hock which was delicious. The wine was lovely , but the desserts were truly outstanding, beautifully presented and tasted divine. I had the rice pudding...which was a far cry from the traditional sloppy variety and my husband had the rum baba. The bistro had a lively atmosphere and the staff were friendly and attentive. We had such a lovely evening.

Mientras que aún estamos lejos de la última moda outlet en la manzana, un sorprendentemente amplia variedad de comidas ligeras y tentempiés están disponibles junto con diversas bebidas calientes. Perfecto para patinadores junto con la familia observadores y si nunca ha visto por dentro del parque, con algunas características que data de los años 1950 apertura original, ¿por qué no llamar y tomar un vistazo.

Dreadful. Unbelievably awful. This restaurant has changed hands recently. I have been going there for 23 years. Always the best fish and chip shop in Southsea. Not today though. The fish was cooked for precisely two minutes so the batter was not cooked inside. The chips were a bit burnt, soggy and not hot. I am convinced these were old chips reheated. I I’ll not be going there again as it is quite expensive and definitely not good quality. I threw most of it away.
