Park Cafe in Portsmouth

Went to have a bite to eat here for lunch. Lovely, friendly staff. Food was good; all 3 of us enjoyed what we had. We had a Tea which was nice, the Missus had a Latte, which she thoroughly enjoyed because it was very creamy.

Lovely spot, especially if the sun's out. Nice friendly staff who serve a perfect cup of tea and the best homemade mince pies ever!

Good little cafe I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a good coffee shop it was quick service

My wife, daughter and I went here for a breakfast and we are very glad we did! The food was fantastic, we all had the Mega Breakfast and it was all cooked to order and really nice and the prices were very reasonable. The homemade cakes looked great so we had to share a slice of the bakewell cake. The staff were all very friendly, especially Liz, who we had a little chat with.

Excellent toasties, and vegan cake that tasted like (excellent) real cake. I am not a vegan. Really nice place, so nice to find somewhere new to eat.

Went to Victoria Park with the grandchildren. Stopped here for a coffee. Being able to sit in the park was lovely, dappled shade, squirrels, birds. Although on this occasion we did not eat, given the lovely welcome and friendly atmosphere we would have no hesitation in going back. Feel it was one of the best cappuccinos I've had in a long time.

This isnt a review about the food but the staff attitude. The cafe was closing up for the day last Sunday, they were taking chairs in from outside and I came in to use the toilet for a desperate little boy. I was told if I havent bought anything then I can use the Guildhall toilets which are with a little boy, a good 15/20 minute walk away. Even though there wasnt a soul around. He was forced to go in the bushes! So my review is based on the unkind and uncompassionate attitude of the lady who was working at the cafe on a Sunday. Rules over kindness. Wheres kindness gone from the world???

I dare you not to feel welcomed here (and if you don't, it may be you ... LOL! The staff are all friendly, seem happy in their work, and want to ensure you enjoy your stay. We enjoyed lovely sandwiches (tuna mayo, bacon & egg) tea, coffees and desserts; all good serving sizes and freshly prepared. A lovely green respite from the busy city centre. And we appreciated their support of the Pay it Forward programme, allowing you to purchase a voucher for those experiencing homelessness, and their support of employment for those who have experience the same. A great initiative that benefits everyone in the community.

Popped in for a spot of lunch as I was in the area. Haven’t been since before Covid. Although a small cafe it was clean and vibrant and the staff were immediately welcoming and friendly. My food arrived quickly and was delicious. My coffee was served prior to my food and unlike other places when my food arrived it was still hot.

Excellent coffee and great, fresh sandwiches - really good coffee, great fresh bread - I had one of the best fish finger sandwiches ever - highly recommended

Please go and support them- you can Pay It Forward and get a voucher for someone who needs it to get a hot drink or snack. I was not rushed at all and if I hadn't already had lunch I would have eaten here.

We had breakfast here two days running. The staff were efficient, freindly and helpful. The premises are clean and pleasant with both indoor and outdoor seating. There is an excellent breakfast menu and the food was freshly prepared and of very high quality. I had a fish finger sandwich on exquisite granary bread on the first morning and poached eggs on toast on the second. Both beautifully prepared and excellent value for money. We learnt that 'Cafe in the Park' is a non-profit sicial enterprise which helps formerly homeless people develop the skills and confidence to get back into mainstream work, which is another excellent reason for popping in if you're in the area.

Came upon this cafe quite by accident, so glad we did. Beautiful breakfast with great service at a reasonable price. Would thoroughly recommend.

Over the years we have visited the cafe on a number of occasions and it has passed through several different managements. Following a refurbishment by the local council it is now run by the Society of St James, who do many good works in the City. A delight on a sunny morning, friendly and efficient and having reopened under the present restrictions, fully deserving of support. Situated in a corner of Victoria Park with great views over the Park.

Great cafe for sitting outside in the summer. Good food and varied menu. Coffee good. Prices reasonable and service very good.

Came here for breakfast. The food was excellent quality, really good sausages and bacon all at very reasonable price. Impressive customer service, they informed us there would be a 20 min wait on breakfast due to a large order ahead of us. As compensation they offered free drinks. They saw a potential problem and offered a immediate solution, very impressed. Will be back here for great breakfasts!

My Mum and I are regular visitors here. Its so nice to have somewhere in the park to go so close to work. And it's lovely to sit outside when the sun is out. Annette, the manager is brilliant and nothing is too much trouble.

My wife and I recently visited for lunch and we were not disappointed, the staff were very friendly, the menu was varied which covered good honest food, the service and food were brilliant. The location was ideal and the atmosphere both inside and outside the cafe was amazing.We will certainly eat in there again.

We had a wonderful afternoon on the terrace of the cafe. Beautiful sunshine, a good cup of Earl grey tea & some scrummy cake.

While walking to pick up car I cut through the park. Saw this delightful cafe. So pleased as I would never have seen it otherwise. Such a lovely place. Very nice food and menu. I shall return soon. 5 stars.

Once again we enjoyed a lovely fresh lunch here. The prices are so reasonable and the staff are great. It's so nice to sit outside on a sunny day. Highly recommend it. They are also taking bookings for Christmas work lunches etc.

Visité aquí como parte de un evento familiar. No podían hacer lo suficiente por nosotros. Fue uno de los días más calurosos del año pero el personal atendía todas nuestras necesidades. Estaba bien organizado y era un bonito y pintoresco lugar. En algún lugar no hubiera pensado que la mayoría de la gente hubiera pensado usarlo para tal evento. Está muy cerca del centro de Catherdral y la ciudad. Teníamos personas de todas las edades que iban desde bebés hasta aquellos en sus 90 años y todos lo pasamos muy bien. El parque tiene una zona de juegos, un montón de césped, fuentes, jaulas de animales, etc. Comenté a uno de los empleados lo bien que lo habían hecho. Me dicen que es el primer evento de este tipo que han hecho y que sepan que se trata de un proyecto de caridad comunitario y que en realidad era un voluntario no remunerado. Asombroso.

Mi primera visita al Park Cafe después de que fue refrescada y relanzada el año pasado resultó ser una prueba, y sin duda estaba mostrando lo mejor en un día soleado. El interior ha sido muy bien reformado, pero estaba, por supuesto, prácticamente vacío, con todos sentados afuera, ya sea en el atractivo patio o bajo los árboles del parque. El personal amable y eficiente se sumó a la experiencia y el café fue muy bueno.

Decidí llevar a algunos amigos a este café tomado por la sociedad de la calle James en el parque Victoria en Portsmouth después de escuchar cosas tan buenas sobre este café. También había pasado muchas veces cuando me dirigía a Gunwarf, así que estaba ansioso por probarlo. A algunos de mi grupo no les gustó, pero tengo que decir que yo y otros 3 pensamos que el variado menú de cosas para comer y beber tenía muy buena relación calidad-precio y el personal trabaja muy duro. El sándwich de tocino que dos de mis amigos tenían era una puerta apropiada con ensalada y con una buena relación calidad-precio. Quiero agradecer al personal por reservarnos una mesa y volveré a probar los deliciosos pasteles que se ofrecen muy pronto. Recomiendo totalmente, espíritu comunitario maravilloso y esa positividad para ayudar a hacer un cambio en la vida de las personas.

My husband and I called in for lunch. I had avocado and goats cheese sandwich and he had ham and cheese panini. Both were well presented and tasty. Nicely decorated cafe and reasonable prices.

La comida realmente encantadora aquí y el almuerzo de los niños es una fantástica relación calidad-precio. Sopas, sándwiches y pasteles son fabulosos y los desayunos parecían geniales. Un buen café para llevar si estás caminando por el parque. Espero que lo haga realmente bien, es un buen café que ofrece oportunidades para la gente que de otro modo no podría obtenerlos. Las fotos están muy desactualizadas, la renovación es encantadora. Es una pena que sea tan pequeño y los cochecitos se interpongan por completo, pero no por su culpa.

This place has been painted up, new tables in the garden park area and better service than my last visit. Service was good , helpful and prompt. Food was basic but good value. A definite improvement.

Waited over 45 minutes for a breakfast!! Was shoddy and rushed when it finally appeared!! Have they changed the owners ? Will not be coming back in here again

This cafe is a gem of a place. not because it serves the best food - although what I have had has been good - no, it is a unique place. It is quirky with its own art gallery. It has its own little bar if you fancy a beer on a sunny day. It sells coffee and snacks and lunch time bites. The staff are real people who you have a conversation with - not robots. But, the best thing is that it is different - it's not a American coffee chain without a soul - swing by, pick up a coffee and a bite to eat, peruse the art and then enjoy the park. Dare to be different. This place must stay.

Si estás buscando una experiencia de cena gourmet, entonces el arte & Soul Cafe no es para ti. Ubicado en la antigua Puerta Lodge en la entrada de la carretera de Anglesea a Victoria Park en el centro de la ciudad, la experiencia es de color, raros artefactos y obras con el fondo de música. No comimos en esta ocasión, otros estaban disfrutando pasteles de la tarde y sin duda el café era muy buena y a un precio razonable. Aparte de estar en este interesante edificio, también hay opciones fuera, en el patio y también en el parque. La apariencia general convendría recortado. Nos sentimos muy bienvenidos por el personal amable, y si estás buscando algo un poco diferente, y me gustaría para apoyo local Enterprise, entonces intentarlo. Hay una amplia variedad de menús y que puede resistir el Sr. "inflarse desayuno.

Espero que estas pequeñas cafeterías independientes ofrecen algo más interesante que las grandes cadenas habituales de marca de lugares para comer pero en esta ocasión mis esperanzas se desvanecieron. Ir a través de la zona de jardín todo parece un poco abandonada y sucia. Una vez dentro aparte de ser examinado por un miembro del personal de allí era cero atención, al haber encontrado una mesa , más tenía algunos restos de alimentos en ellos que escanear el menú decidido sobre qué comer y esperamos. No hay ningún tipo de servicio se acercaba, así que nos fuimos a la cocina. Estaban ocupados, en sus teléfonos móviles. pedidos esperamos bastante tiempo eventualmente recibiendo Vía Láctea té, una típica salchicha en un rollo ligeramente seco y una chaqueta llegó comida fresca e incluía con frijoles baratas. Al ser mi ciudad natal y un lugar independiente que realmente esperaba que esto sería por lo menos bueno, pero por desgracia no fue así, podría ser un gran oasis con un poco más de esfuerzo. En el lado positivo hay algo interesante arte en las paredes pero por el momento no es bueno para la comida.
