The food was ok, but the service was embarrassingly slow. When we arrived there were 3 other tables with guests. We waited over 40 minutes for 12 pieces of sushi. Tasted fine but having waited that long, most food would! We then needed to wait another 20mins after that for fish and chips. Staff apologised for the delay and gave us copious tap water. Once food was served no one checked to see if we were ok or needed anything more. There are better places to go for a dinner of that standard.

Had breakfast baguettes with coffee. Tasty and freshly prepared by a friendly member of staff. A welcome result having been let down by the premier inn breakfast!

Today I visited the southsea positive eats on Palmerston Road. From first entering to leaving the whole experience was brilliant. So fresh & clean in there and the girls working were so friendly and gave me advice in what to order etc. I had a boost juice & a build your own bowl which was so worth the price. All fresh ingredients and so much flavour. Will definitely be visiting again!

Food was excellent, just the right sized portions and reasonably priced. We had the 2 course menu, Miso soup, followed by tempura King prawn with vegetables and rice, just delicious.

We wanted a decent meal in quiet surroundings and found it in Boathouse No 4 in Portsmouth Dockyard just past HMS Warrior. The boathouse itself is fascinating but if you go upstairs at the back you’ll find a peaceful restaurant with first class service - Phil was wonderful, explaining everything and answering all our questions. The restaurant has great views over the harbour but the food is the reason for going there. Thoroughly recommend Cheesy, hammy, eggy, an old naval favourite, was my choice, beautifully cooked and presented and I’d certainly have it again on my next visit. Great coffee, and with quick unobtrusive service, this is an excellent place to come when you’re visiting the Historic Dockyard.

Clean and tidy GK pub on the Hard with views over the Warrior and close to the Historic Dockyard and HMS Victory. Food served all day. Several ales available from the Green-King estate. Friendly and pleasant staff are very attentive. Discount given to AF Veterans and Camra members.

Great staff, lovely atmosphere set within the castle. Menu was a refreshing change from the usual cafe/bar fayre and I was spoilt for choice. Drinks good, nice glasses for the right drinks. Food took a while but we knew it would as the staff had let us know. Food nicely presented, very tasty and generally well received by everyone in our party. My only gripe was the crab roll I ordered was dry and a bit sparse with crab but still very tasty. It's on the pricey side but I am happy to spend good money on good food. On the whole a nice lunch.

We were not staying at the hotel and just meeting up as family for lunch, the hotel and restaurant staff were extremely helpful, we had some special requirements and staff phoned before the date of the booking to discuss and reassure. On arrival the waiting staff were friendly and provided an excellent service. We were made to feel that all our dining requests were no problem at all. The food, which we ordered from the bar menu as we just wanted a light lunch, was all fantastic, well seasoned and well cooked. The space has a lovely atmosphere and we all had a great dining experience. The member of waiting staff who served us, who was fairly new to the restaurant, provided a stand out service. Thank-you so much for making our special family gathering so enjoyable.

A rare combination of factors combined to enrich a luncheon experience - taken in the open air on a warm and sunny Friday afternoon. Menu choices varied and enticing. I chose the saffron gnocchi which was faultlessly presented in a colourful plateful; generous portion size made for a very satisfying lunch. Elsewhere the fish (very locally sourced) and chips looked equally impressive. Smart, unhurried but attentive service made for a very enjoyable occasion at what is evidently a very popular bar within the iconic ‘Old Portsmouth’ quarter
