Great place, 2 open fires, rustic and simplicity at its best. It was my husbands bday today and they gave him a pint on the house! Ploughman’s were exceptional, homemade and fresh and lovely warm bread. We will definitely be back.

We have just returned from a lovely evening at Le Chateau. We had the Sharing platter which was freshly cooked, homemade and delicious and plenty to choose off the menu.We ordered the deal with a bottle of wine as well which was very good value.

We have just had the most incredible Sunday lunch at 'The Bell'. We originally intended only stopping for a coffee before returning home after a lovely weekend in the New Forest cycling. However at 2 pm, with the aroma of a roast in the air, it would've been rude to have not indulged before hitting a rain drenched M27. And we were very glad we did. The food was of excellent quality - we both had the roast beef which was delicious and came with all the trimmings, including a zingy horseradish sauce. Our request for extra gravy was received by attentive and welcoming staff and was swiftly met. Portions were hearty, and the meat was cooked to perfection. Rounding off our meal with coffees by the fire was a perfect way to end our trip. We will definitely return and will recommend to friends and family who often pass this way. A truly memorable lunch and a wonderfully relaxing way to end our weekend break.

We went to have sunday roast but was a bit disappointed as stuffing balls were hard,Yorkshire pudding was cold ,meat overdone ,roast potatoes were hard and cold and plate was cold ,on a plus side the staff were great,the pub was recommended by a mate, unfortunately let down

Friendly service and in a lovely setting! Drinks were well priced and will be returning again.

We stayed here for a couple of nights, as we wanted to explore the new forest and this accommodation was central to where we wanted to visit. On arrival we were greeted by a lovely lady at the bar ….i was informed her name was Bunny , she was so friendly and booked us in and gave us all the information we needed. We were booked in for an evening meal which was lovely. We had the pleasure of a really lovely young girl named Katherine and she gave us so much information about a few places to go and visit including the wildlife centre which was about 15 mins away by car. The following morning at breakfast we were greeted by another great member of staff named Dan, he was so polite and took our order , the breakfast was lovely and such a great choice to suit everyone. There were other members of staff that were equally as nice and friendly but unfortunately I never got their names. Our room….. the room was clean and comfortable for our two nights stay, it had everything you would need including tea/coffe facilities,hairdryer, iron & ironing board ….the only downside was the bathroom felt cramped and in need of a little TLC. The shower was ok for us but if you were of a larger size you could possibly struggle to get in and out as the shower door didn’t fully open. Well done to everyone at the white rabbit we would definitely come back in the future 🙂

We come to the Empress for lunch once a month, and we love it. On this visit, the food, as usual, was absolutely spot on, which is no surprise to us at all. We had Chicken & Haggis, Fajitas, The minted lamb steak and the dirty harry fries this time. All beautiful. We are usually served by Hannah who is a wonderful presence and always looks after us, although on this occasion (26th) we were served by a different chap who we’ve not seen on our visits before. He was very affable and attentive, and couldn’t do more for us. It was a busy lunchtime, so we appreciated the personal touch despite him being by himself and spread across the restaurant. The other two members of staff were very pleasant as always when we paid, but they did seem to be tethered to the bar bickering for the majority of our time here. Food was great, service was great and the food came reasonably quickly, all things considered. Overall, another fab experience as usual, and we’ll be back again in March. It was a late lunch so we just shared a cheese and chutney baguette. It came with fries and a small green salad. Firstly, it was a good job we only wanted one to share because it was £11.99. The baguette was nothing special. Quite limited in cheese which was cheaply grated to make it look more. The worst thing was the fries. A horrible brown colour, looked like they had been overcooked or recooked. Sure they were also done in oil that was used for everything and well past its useable date. They were just short of disgusting. My wife wouldn’t eat them because they smelt and tasted of fish. Shame because staff were friendly and drinks fine with what could be a nice beer garden (there was some rubbish waiting to go to the top by the looks of it). Probably won’t be go again and certainly not to eat.

Wonderful roast dinner the service was fantastic but felt for the staff after hearing the constant raging from what I believe was the chef otherwise our experience was delightful . Highly recommend the Compass Inn for a fantastic Sunday Roast .

Esto se ha convertido en un lugar regular para comer para mí. Como la comida es excepcional, y precios razonables. Personal amable y servicial. Además de un magnífico helado italiano - helado Los domingos tienen elección de asados, y a menudo el lunes también hay un asado en el tablero de especiales.

Qué bueno será volver después de pagar mis préstamos estudiantiles. Qué experiencia tan encantadora que tuve en este establecimiento. La cama era muy cómoda. Me recordó a la vez que estaba atada a la cama porque me inyectaba polvo de bebé en la nariz. La comida era espectacular. La salchicha parecía excremento de queso recién exprimido. Mientras que el tocino parecía que alguien había usado sus uñas para masajear una caca. En mi opinión, las judías estaban en su punto. Tenían una textura encantadora. Se sentía como cuando bebí un galón de asfalto. Los huevos sabían como cuando me caí y mi espalda se rompió, así que era como una puerta y mi cara tenía un pedazo masivo de alma de zapato pegada en ella. También tomé un té para lavar todo. El té también era increíble debido al hecho de que hacen su propia agua personalizada hecha mezclando ácido de batería, ácido fluorhídrico, oxígeno líquido y cianuro de hidrógeno líquido. Pero como siempre realmente lo recomiendo para primeras citas y para adultos de 52 años o más.

My daughter booked this Premir inn as it is very close to Peppa Pig world at Paultons Park for a family weekend away with my 4 year old grandson. We were given our room, the beds were rock hard as were the pillows and there was mould on the bathroom ceiling however on raising this we were told as it was the Easter Bank Holiday they were fully booked. Later that evening the lights in our room went out and would not come back on. We spoke to reception who duly attended and checked the fuse box in our room. This did not work however when they went to the main fuse box they got the lights back on however on my grandson flicked on the bathroom light, bright orange sparks came out the fuse box and light switch. They offered to move us to another room however could not agree which one. The male on reception became very verbally abusive towards us and his young colleague, leaving her in tears, swearing in front of ourselves and other guests. When this was finally resolved my grandson was distraught and I was left to move all our luggage with no offer of assistance. To top it all Premier Inn, despite offering a refund had the gall to take the cost of the room out of my bank over a week later and have not offered any sort of apology or compensation
