We were a group of six celebrating a friend’s birthday. We were looked after by Toni and Jane who couldn’t do enough for us. The food was excellent and reasonably priced and there was plenty to choose from. Definitely the best place in Cadnam.. We will return

Needing a room for one night in high season is rarely possible but Le Chateau was a very pleasant surprise. Toni and Paul are the perfect hosts. Le Chateau is beautifully decorated, the bedrooms are pretty and the beds are super comfortable. The food is excellent. I highly recommend Le Chateau to anyone looking for a little home away from home comfort.

We stayed here overnight on August 3rd it was a very pleasant experience. The owner were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The room was very nice bright and very clean the bed was so comfy (can I have it ). We had Bed and Breakfast it was so nice and a nice size with orange Juice Tea and a cooked breakfast definitely value for money, would definitely recommend this B&B.

We eat out once a week with friends and regularly go to Le Chateau as the food is always good. This week three of us had what we normally have but they also had a lunch menu and my husband chose the ploughman’s. We have recently tried them at local restaurants advertising ‘the best in Hampshire’ but this was (in my husband’s words) the best of the best. You really must try it.

Celebrated our golden wedding with 4 children under 10 plus 5 adults. Very friendly staff with a feeling given they could alter dishes slightly if you needed to. The food was freshly cooked and hot. Can't recommend this restaurant enough if you want something a little special. Very homely surroundings too. It tends to get missed by its location situation but is sovwirth a visit. The creme brulee was wonderful.

We had a lovely meal at Le Chateau last night (4th April). Our first time visiting this restaurant. The owners/staff are so engaging and ultra friendly. The food was really tasty and there was a great selection from the 2 menus. The dining area and lounge/bar area are so clean and nicely decorated. We will definitely be returning! It's also a great place to pop into if you are driving past or on a walk during the day and just want a coffee and snack in their lovely bar area. Very impressed.

Great welcome and a lovely homely atmosphere. It’s like going to friends for dinner but on a bigger scale. The food was great and the set price three course meal was absolutely superb. We’ve already booked a table for 13 so the whole family can go.

Visited for Sunday lunch as a couple celebrating my wife's birthday. Our first visit but knew this as Le Chanteclair which closed a few years ago. Plenty of parking and easy access. The atmosphere was lovely, the staff very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, plentiful, freshly cooked and could not have been better. Despite the restaurant's name, it was essentially English cuisine. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will certainly be visiting again.

Staff here are exceptionally rude and unprofessional. Save yourself the stress and go to pretty much any other pub in the area. They're all considerably better.

Being solo on this occasion I was very happy to be seated in an excellent location. The staff could not be nicer. In every respect I couldn't fault any of them. I stayed b&B and evening meal. The room was very nice and the breakfast was excellent. The evening meal however was exceptional. The glowing positive reviews are spot on. I'm already planning my next visit

Went as it was our wedding anniversary, after reading the menus on Facebook and thought it sounded very nice. The food was extremely disappointing. Our starters were average pub fare, not the French classics we were anticipating.the main courses were of a similar ilk served with vegetables which were not only stale and over cooked, but less imaginative than your average pub chain. My wife’s confit duck was acceptable although the bright red sauce was a little off putting, but my roast hake was so over cooked as to be indistinguishable as hake, haddock or any other fish sitting in a pool of insipid Passata with some capers thrown in. As we were not asked if everything was ok until we had finished and the waitress came to clear, we couldn’t bring this to anyone’s attention. We then told the waitress of our disappointment and she said she would tell the chef. Soon after the waitress arrived with the dessert menus and no response to our complaint. When she came back to takeout order for desserts that we declined, I asked for the response from the kitchen and was told, the veg is cooked soft as they get a lot of older clients who like it that way and the fish was hake. We asked for the bill and while we waited the chef appeared and abruptly pushed a plate with a sad looking recently defrosted fillet of fish and exclaimed ‘this is hake and I should know as I fillet lots of fish’ to which I replied’ ‘ if you say so’. I had my doubts but was not prepared to get into an argument. So after asking the waitress to remove the discretionary service charge, due to the rudeness of the chef, we paid and left. Obviously we will not go back.

This was our first visit, it was such a relaxing evening. Wonderful host whom was so welcoming. We had the three course set menu, all food was beautifully presented and excellent. We will return

Went out with my brothers and a girlfriend for a evening meal at the Chateau, and on this occasion was not i expected, i had a starter of a antipasti i was surprised to see English ham on the platter and a egg, for the main along with one of my brothers we had the sirloin steak which was cooked to my liking but was so chewy i left a lot of it on the plate and for £26 i think was way to expensive, having said that from the others i was with, one had the fish and one the chicken they enjoyed there meal I have eaten here a few times before and on the whole have enjoyed but on this occasion was dissapointed

A group of 19 family and friends gathered to celebrate a very special birthday. The planning started about a month before when we were given a menu to cover all tastes. Our group included a coeliac and a vegan and these people were catered for. On the night we were greeted by friendly staff and the everyone enjoyed their meal. The food was well cooked , good portions , nicely presented. Highly recommended

This was our first visit and a place we never knew about even though we have lived in the area for over 30 years and what an excellent experience. We recently found a Facebook advert detailing their winter special which tempted us to book. We were not disappointed, fantastic friendly staff made the evening special and the home cooked food was amazing, a place we will certainly visit again and highly recommend to friends and family

This was planned as a special evening and a Date Night as we had both been poorly over the Xmas and New Year holiday. The atmosphere was sadly lacking as we were the only people in there for the first hour,However the waitress was bright and cheerful. I have to say that we both thought the food was good, however when I asked for an extra slice of bread and butter I was informed that there would be an EXTRA charge of 50 pence!! for the same, also a large glass of Red Wine was £9.70!! which we considered extortionate. Look out for the Service Charge of 10% which, under the circumstances we did not pay. Our LAST VISIT!!

Had Xmas Lunch with four friends. We chose the set menu and I had Moroccan Lamb, it was delicious. All the food was first class! Very friendly owners. Would highly recommend, will definitely return there!

Fantastic evening meal at Le Chateau. Highly recommended if in the area or local to Cadnam. Food was delicious, and really filing! The waiting staff were super helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend the baked figs for starter and the chicken or pork dishes for mains. Crème brûlée for desert was pretty lovely too!

Arrived in a very wet and windy evening. Warm welcome from a nice smiley lady. Room nice and comfy. We had a drink in a bar before dinner, pleasant decor in bar and dining room. The dinner.. we had three courses, was absolutely beautiful, mainly fish dishes as we are fish eaters more than meat. Chef certainly knows his stuff! Slept well and breakfast a good selection of continental. Will certainly be back!

Stayed 1night for work, beds so coasy and shower to die for, rooms very spacious and well decorated. Host's are amazing and very welcoming nothing too much trouble, messaged my boss to say please dont hesitate to re-book if im back in the area.

The woman who runs the place is disgustingly rude and food is average at best. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Staff are very friendly and welcoming. The meal was however a little disappointing. It was OK, but nothing particularly special. We had gone because it gave the impression of being a bit of a 'cut above'. The menu isn't standard pub grub for sure, but then that isn't what one expected. The reality though was that the delivered quality didn't really match the pricing, in our opinion. The overall sense was of a venue that had aspirations that it didn't really deliver on. Which is a shame, as we will likely be in the area again and would love to have a trusted slightly more upmarket eatery that we were keen to go back to.

Staff took our booking down incorrectly and despite us clearly evidencing that they had made the mistake, they remained cold and blunt towards us. When we contacted them via email at a later point to Express our dissatisfaction, they wrote a passive aggressive message about us on their facebook page, which was then removed a few hours later when they must have realised how utterly unprofessional it looks. Quite possibly the worst customer service I have ever been provided. Go up the road to the Empress of Blandings instead. Nicer food and you won't get spoken to like rubbish.

Just visited Le Chateau for Dinner. Had the best homemade cauliflower and cheese soup, followed by Venison medallions, fresh vegetables and saute potatoes. Lovely friendly attentive staff. Best local restaurant around and not overpriced.

Stayed here overnight & had a meal in the restaurant. Food was freshly cooked & excellent. Owners & staff were very attentive, kind & made sure we had a very enjoyable meal & stay. This has been recently taken over by a couple who I think used to run a pub in London who don't seem to have much idea of how to run a 'French Restaurant' The service was bizarre, with the waitress/owner offering the rest of our table of 5 someone's left over bread! Came here for an evening meal and loved it! An offer was available for about £20 (I think) for a 3 course meal- perfect portion sizes and the food was incredible. We had a the trout for starter, Duck for main course and cheesecake for pudding, so yummy and service was great. Definitely coming back.

Had two nights at Le chateau spotlessly clean , hosts Paul & Toni very welcoming , rooms quaint & adequate if slightly small. Lounge area is great to relax and very good bar with a nice real ale on.
