Met up with some friends for afternoon tea having been pleased before.I was disappointed this time. The sandwiches seemed cheap, no salmon, no salad of any description either in or around the sandwiches. (Tuna,Egg, Cheese & pickle, ham. No tomato or cucumber or lettuce) There was a small square of brownie and millionaires shortbread the same as you buy in those supermarket tubs of 2 for £3 etc. These were the cakes, not like before where there was lemon sponge and red velvet cake. Although there was nice looking cakes on the counter. The scones were ok, the sausage rolls ok (literally a sausage in pastry) and that was it for my £22.50. I had done a previous review in July and you can see in those pictures there was salad, cakes and strawberries and redcurrants. I’ve also been since, but this was so disappointing I will go elsewhere next time. Oh and 2 small bottles of Prosecco? £17.90!

We thought we'd give The White Hart a go a few Sundays ago as we were child free. We've tried most places in the area and most have been thoroughly disappointing so after looking at reviews on here we thought we'd give it a go. I will admit when I saw the sign that said 2 for £14 on roast my heart sank a little as I expected it to be a cheap wetherspoons type roast. Well I was BEYOND WRONG. The roast was AMAZING! We both had the 3 meat roast, chicken, gammon and beef and the care and attention that the chef had put into the food he served was obvious from the moment our plates were put down. Beautifully presented with perfect homemade Yorkshire puddings, perfect roast potatos and all of the meats we're tender and juicy. We were just astounded at the quality. Since then we've been back twice, once for a roast and another time on a Friday night and all 3 times have been equally good. The food is incredibly cheap but absolutely delicious and plentiful. The bar staff friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere welcoming. This is absolutely now our go to place for a roast, being a qualified chef I get so sick of places serving par standard roast dinners but The White Hart far exceeded out expectations. Our new local. Keep doing what youre doing and compliments to the Chef!

A dream-come-true for lovers of farm shops. Excellent choice of foodstuffs, including a butcher and cheese sections. And a cider cellar, with a million different ciders and perries from across England! Also, selling wines from British wineries. Tricky not to overspend but it's an outing in its own right. Definitely worth a visit!

3 of us came here yesterday for a post-hike roast and beer. They have their own range of craft beer, and a good selection of real ale. I had one of the 3 veggie roast options. It was fantastic. The Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, carrots, broccoli, swede/sweet potato mash and gravy were absolutely in the top 5 roasts I've had. My friends had the lamb shoulder and chicken. They both said it was seriously good. We didn't have room for dessert but the options looked decent both on the menu and on other diners tables. The bar staff were knowledgeable about the beers and whoever was chef knows how to cook well. Absolutely recommend a Sunday Roast here!

Pelham House is a true gem in the heart of Lewes, blending historic charm with contemporary elegance to create a wedding venue like no other. As a wedding photographer, I’ve had the pleasure of capturing unforgettable moments at this Grade II listed townhouse, and it never fails to leave a lasting impression.
