We needed something quick, tasty and easy. We decided to pop in to Stonehouse in Peacehaven and glad we did. Tasty pizza, very fresh turkey sandwich and beers ok too. Shame there's no real ale. Top tip, try to get Nicola to serve you. She was terrific

We thought we'd give The White Hart a go a few Sundays ago as we were child free. We've tried most places in the area and most have been thoroughly disappointing so after looking at reviews on here we thought we'd give it a go. I will admit when I saw the sign that said 2 for £14 on roast my heart sank a little as I expected it to be a cheap wetherspoons type roast. Well I was BEYOND WRONG. The roast was AMAZING! We both had the 3 meat roast, chicken, gammon and beef and the care and attention that the chef had put into the food he served was obvious from the moment our plates were put down. Beautifully presented with perfect homemade Yorkshire puddings, perfect roast potatos and all of the meats we're tender and juicy. We were just astounded at the quality. Since then we've been back twice, once for a roast and another time on a Friday night and all 3 times have been equally good. The food is incredibly cheap but absolutely delicious and plentiful. The bar staff friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere welcoming. This is absolutely now our go to place for a roast, being a qualified chef I get so sick of places serving par standard roast dinners but The White Hart far exceeded out expectations. Our new local. Keep doing what youre doing and compliments to the Chef!

We stopped here too briefly and wished we could drop by every day. The cafe is part of a working farm, so lots of super fresh food available. Our time was brief so we just opted for oat lattes with cheese scones. Had it not been for Viator's Seven Sisters Tour we would never have discovered this fantastic place. We are not Sussex locals but city dwellers, accustomed to all the culinary variety and quality of big cities like London, New York City and Paris. However this is a place that shows the appeal of countryside fare. Fluffy, melt-in-the-mouth cheese scones (the best we ever tasted) deserve an award. The oat lattes here are also VERY good. The setting too is absolutely charming and the staff made you feel like a local, so welcoming and kind. Recommended. Thank you Middle Farm!

We recently held our wedding reception at The View at Seaford Head. The venue was superb throughout the whole planning process, with special thanks to Paula who looked after our every request. The venue looked fantastic, especially when combined with the stunning views which made it the perfect location. The food was outstanding, the bar staff were super helpful and the whole evening was faultless. We would highly recommend The View at Seaford Head for any functions or events.

This wasn’t the best experience on a warm summer day sitting outside in the courtyard by a noisy extractor fan . The menu was a bit disappointing, it seemed to feature mainly burgers which were over priced at £19 .00 we all felt . Staff were friendly .

Stunning venue in the centre of the historic town Lewes! I was so fortunate to be able to photograph Fran & Pj's wedding at Pelham House and I loved every minute. The outdoor ceremony area is lovely and seculed and the rooms within the hotel are perfect for photography with lots of natural light. I really hope I can return back to Pelham House soon to capture another wedding.

After visiting some artists' open houses in the area, I popped in here with a friend for a beer and some lunch. It really seemed like a lovely pub and the woman on the bar was very friendly, as were the other customers. However, I ordered a couple of drinks and some food which unfortunately, we ended up waiting an hour for, despite my friend asking several times when it would be ready. I realise that the chef was probably busy as it was a bank holiday, but the.manager should have informed us when we ordered that we'd have to wait a while, as we would have either ordered something that didn't need to be cooked or gone elsewhere. When the food eventually arrived, the manager didn't say sorry but said we could have something on the house to compensate for the inconvenience, so we ordered some chips, a beer and a brownie as we were told we could also have a dessert. We were definitely under the impression that we would not have to pay for this. However, when we were ready to leave, we were stopped by the man on the bar (who I assume was the owner), who shouted that we were doing a runner (he actually used those words!), and held up a receipt saying that we would have to pay for the extra things we'd ordered. He also said that he'd checked with the chef who told him that we'd only waited 30 minutes, which was a blatant lie as I checked the time when I paid. While he ended up not charging us (as he probably realised we were not going to let it go), I was shocked at his (& the manager's) lack of accountability and rudeness. Such an uncomfortable situation could have been avoided had there been clear communication from the outset and an apology. I don't like complaining but this experience ruined what had been a lovely afternoon in Ditchling.
