Great service, easy access, and plenty of seating. Staff are friendly and helpful, and the whole place is clean and tidy.

Food and service is outstanding, especially from the ever super efficient Liz, always, friendly, helpful with nothing ever being to much for her, an extremely satisfying experience.

The food was very good. We liked the plant based option and it was a nice atmosphere. Emily served us and was also very nice :)

Monika was lovely. There was a longer than normal wait for food and she let the kids have some veggies and yorkshires while we waited. She was attentive and polite and very sweet with the kids. Great place for a family dinner

A friend and I went for Sunday lunch, as a vegan I ordered their Plant based fish, was told they don't have any, so I changed to their Plant based chicken. Next days when I checked my bill, I noticed I was charged for both the Plant based fish AND chicken. Another dissatisfaction is, I started using this restaurant earlier 2024 because a friend advised they do Guinness Zero, which is the only No Alcohol option that I really like. On my first visit, I had two cans of the Guinness Zero with a splendid meal with three other guests. However sadly, on my second and last visit yesterday, I was told they have not bothered to get any Guinness Zero because there's no call for it. Obviously its their call to stock whatever they want, but as Guinness Zero comes in cans, even stocking a case which would lasts yonks to satisfy their few customers who wants them, plus just having them available should increase requests for them, instead, now it's going to depreciate my desire to return in the future.

Actually went in for a carvery but the meat had nearly finished! (This is the only reason I gave a 4*). My Son had a burger and I enjoyed some gorgeous chicken wings and chips. Our Waitress, Eileen, worked very hard whilst we were there and nothing was too much trouble. Used to use the Stonehouse in Brighton but this one is so so much better. Thank you Eileen xx

Usually pop in here for a carvery but thought we would try the breakfast as it was the football fixtures release date. A very enjoyable breakfast, nicely presented and well cooked. Spacious, very clean and not crowded at all and above all, great value. Lovely, friendly staff who did not hassle us to leave. Will definitely return.

We've been here several times this year and to be honest the food is always very nice! Most staff are friendly enough But what made this visit particularly enjoyable was our Server Eileen, she was friendly, helpful and checked on us and our food through out our visit, nothing was to much.

Eileen as always was an absolute star - so attentive and welcoming. The food however was shocking, sub standard and tasteless. Really disappointed!

Had to write a review as I have not been here for years and I was pleasantly surprised about how much it has improved. Popped in for a beer and burger, a lady called Lisa served me, Lisa was super friendly and efficient, food was great and a pint was less than a fiver, I shall definitely be popping back.

Eileen was really friendly as usual, as was her husband who was carving the meat. They are both very efficient and helpful. The food was lovely and the meat was tender with a good selection of vegetables.

Good honest carvery with really nice veg that we both enjoyed. Had a lovely waitress Eileen, and we both liked eating a yummy meal without cooking it.

We visited here with family including 4 young grandchildren. We were given a nice table a bit out of the way of the main restaurant area so the kids had a bit of freedom without upsetting anyone. Our waitress Eileen was very attentive and looked after us really well. The food was good and certainly value for money. As usual the drinks were very good and reasonably priced. We use this place a lot and it serves up a good time every time. It has no pretences at being a top end establishment and you get exactly what it says on the tin. Good food, good drink and value for money.

I came fir a car wash so had some free time Had a mezzo pizza ,was served by monika ..very friendly and polite ,she explained the menu and was a great choice ,coffee was nice & unlimited do fantastic deal, I took a take away cup for my journey home 🏡 Would recommend for lunch or dinner, they even do a breakfast menu Monika is a great team member and a great asset to this establishment.. Will visit again, car wash was excellent so will come back again...

From the time we went in there, had lots of young staff chatting and mucking around, one was off duty but was hanging around with the others. Only one barman working properly and one waitress who was worth her weight in gold with her good service. This place has gone downhill over the last year. Didnt enjoy the experience. Food was okay but I was continuously annoyed at staff just loudly talking and laughing. Felt like a cheap dive, than a nice pizza and carvery.

Nice staff. Well priced drinks. Basic food often bland. Carvery meat is usually good but the vegetables are frozen & often mushy bit of a shame really.Bad luck if your a vegetarian as there is literally no option.Haven't tried the pizzas perhaps they are better.

We went for a late meal with some friends we hadn’t seen in a while, when we walked in the waitress ( paige ) came over and told us if we where staying for food we only have until 8pm to dish up and leave by 9pm, my first question was “ can we eat as much as we want in the time she gave us “ to which she said yes, we only had 30 minutes as it was 7:30pm already so we quickly dished up, when i went back for a second helping i was told “ sorry you can only have as much veg as you want “ i was very surprised as the amount of meat they gave was two very thin slices and that was it, when I looked at the menu it clearly stated “ Feast on bottomless trimmings “ when i asked the waitress about this she said that’s changed as this was their old menu, i then asked why would she give us a menu that’s old if it’s not what we can eat to which she called her manager and said we where being rude, i will never be going back.

Went for a roast here and can only say I am DISGUSTED. I’ll start off by mentioning our waitresses name - PAIGE, who’s attitude was nothing but disrespectful, rude and appalling. We arrived happy and in good spirits, only to be greeted far from pleasantly by her and have her repeatedly exclaim to us on our way to be seated, how we only have 30mins to dish up and eat as much as we want and there after HAVE to GET OUT by 9pm. Fair enough, they were closing, however the manner in which she went out let us know this was shocking, she seems more concerned with closing and going home, rather than her customer service (if one can even call it that) . It was our first time there and we asked if it were a buffet and if we could eat as much as we like, which she responded yes. Satisfied with that we all went and dished up. Due to us being under the impression that it was a buffet, we did not overload our place the first serving, however, upon going for our second serving we were not allowed anymore meat. Baffled by this we called her over, especially considering the meat we were given was far from a fair portion. Her response to our query was once again DISGUSTING, barely addressing the issue and instead practically shouted over the table NO, we can’t. We then questioned the menu, only for her to say “oh well, it’s an old menu”, my response to that was then why give it to us, that is false advertising. Still she didn’t care and said “they changing tonight”, she went on a while longer continuing to be rude and hostile . This I did not find acceptable and we requested for the manager, he too was of no help, however, he did not shout at us all rudely across the table, as PAIGE did. Though when requesting for our waitress’s name, he refused to tell us. We now know her name as it is printed clearly on our receipt. In that aspect, getting the bill payed was a whole wait of its own as we patiently waited for PAIGE to finish her socialising with her colleagues and eventually decide to come over. Not even a thank you nor have a nice evening was given to us during this process. Do not recommend this place due to poor customer service.

Manager and staff, especially long standing members are excellent people.Always friendly and willing to sort any restaurant related problems,please ask nicely. This is amazing, considering some customers have delusions of grandeur not fitting too the premises,even then the staff seem too bite there lips and carry on regardless.

I visited with my mum and used a Groupon voucher. Friendly staff. Quick service. Delicious food. I even saw a waiter helping a lady in a wheelchair and getting her carvery food for her without the need for her to worry about getting her food and then back to her table. This kind of service makes it an excellent place to return to.

I visit this restaurant with my friend on a regular basis. The service is good and so is the food. If there is a problem which is very rare they are quick to put things right. I thoroughly recommend this restaurant

We had a nice walk along the cliffs from Seaford to Brighton. Stopped at the Stonehouse for lunch. Most staff were very friendly, the food was good. However, two members of staff were openly talking about immigration and how “you can’t even call it England anymore. Too many of them coming here.” Given the nature of our group, we were distinctly uncomfortable during our lunch.

After virtually years of driving past this restaurant I finally had the combined hunger and available time to pop in.

I stopped there last late April with a rental car. After a couple of weeks I got a parking ticket, because I didn't know how their parking spot works (I'm from Italy). After getting in touch with the managers and explaining what happened, they helped in any way they could with the rental company, confirming that no parking offences were made and that the fine was cancelled.

Disgusting. The carvery is thick sliced meat. Vegetables often overcooked. Gravy from a packet. Tables are filthy and we had to clean it ourselves. Coffee tasted like dirty water in dirty cups. Disgrace to English food!

What |I like about the Carvery is that if there is a problerm which is very rare they are quick to rectify the situation. All the staff are very friendly and this I believe is due to Chris the Manager. Thoroughly recommend this carvery

Another good breakfast at the Carvery, always enjoy our visits although today we found the coffee is now served from the bar rather then helping yourself. This would be OK if there were staff to serve it, however going up for our refill ended in a good 5-6 minute wait for any member of staff to serve, I had to get a chefs attention to ask for service, he went out the back to find somebody. Saw other customers having the same problem, It wasn’t a busy time so is that a reason for staff to not be around to serve the paying customers. Shame this had to happen, such a simple thing to fix.

Fairly average pub but really obliging, pleasant staff. Fish & chips quite good but they can’t make a decent pizza. Tasteless cardboard. A basic Sainsbury’s pizza cooked at home would have been better.

Had a really great value selection of lunch time treats for lunch today. Four of us shared, pizza, garlic bread and a variety of 5 sides. The pizza comes with help yourself salad bar and chips. Eileen our wonderful friendly server was helpful and attentive especially to my older parents who enjoyed all the nibbles. Highly recommend for a mid week treat, great value for money and very tasty

Another enjoyable early evenings carvery with my bowling colleagues after another successful match in Eastbourne.

We had a lovely family meal and were served by Eileen. She is such a lovely waitress and made our time at the stone house carvery even more wonderful.

We had a warm and friendly welcome with excellent service from Eileen. 2 of us ordered fish & chips which was freshly cooked river cobbler and tasted beautiful with no bones. 2 orederd burgers also cooked to order and very good quality. We went in just after 5pm so not overly busy and a nice atmosphere, clean and tidy.

Service was good, food was sub par, chefs throwing the meat around like a rag doll. Heavy on the microwaved goods. Toilets are a mess. Once was enough.

We weren't happy when we went in but thought we would give them a chance. Got to the table chairs had food all over them table was sticky and dirty,knife and fork holder was empty, menus sticky and got food on.

Lovely waitress no other positives. Fatty and cold meat despite the plate being too hot to hold, dry Yorkshire puddings, very bland sauce on the cauliflower, potatoes very hard. We haven't been for around a year because of a previous poor experience but many people had told us that the food had improved. They are very, very wrong. We won't be returning.

We had booked a table for four and when we arrived were told to sit anywhere. The waitress said that there was only two choices of meat. Two of us has calvary one a pizza and one Fish.

Visited here last night having been to collect something just up the road. Very impressed, not our local Stonehouse but this one is much better as they focus on individual service rather than ordering at the bar. Eileen was very helpful and attentive. Food was excellent. Such a shame that one is a 2 hour drive from home. If I am ever in the area again though I will definitely be coming back.

The carvery is very good value, we offered a choice of three meats, a some of each, lovely Yorkshire pudding with plenty of choices of veg, potatoes and gravy. Would definitely visit again

Stonehouse is ok, food is ok. When did they decide to charge the patrons for parking? I just received a fine for parking in the restaurant car park. I do not remember seeing a single sign telling me I need to pay and there were no reminders in the restaurant.

Unfortunately this is the second time on a Sunday that we have walked out due to waiting too long to be served.On both times it was the same waitress. If staff are busy fair enough, but when they are standing at the till chatting instead of serving customers that is not good.There wasnt many customers in the restaurant either. There was not even an acknowledgment that we were there.Its a shame as there used to be an excellent waitress serving on a Sunday who was efficient and attentive.

Went here for breakfast with my children,Im short sighted so didn't see the signs and when you walk in and order no one mentions about putting your registration in, and i notice on the Peacehaven website there is no mention of the need to sign in.

Can't comment on the food but my mother in law took my children there at half term and has just received a parking fine despite having been there many times before.

We go here about twice a month and it never fails , I love there Sunday roast , the staff are lovely friendly and polite even when its so busy .The chef is always checking the counter so nothing runs out .Never in a rush to get rid of you .

£4.49 breakfast. All you can eat eggs (slow coming out), bacon, baked beans, hash browns etc. While cheap it was OK and cheerless. Extra for coffee but bottomless cup. Toast and jam also. Nothing wrong with it but very average.

Went on 1 June and was surged by a wonderful person. She went out of her way to make us welcome. The portions were large and she got us a pizza box to take away the remaining food. I would recommend the Raging bull burger which was very nice.

Had a lovely meal at Stonehouse Carvery today. There was only two waitresses serving and when we came it was busy. The waitresses done really well and both cheerful. The meal was beautiful and hot. Definitely will be returning!

Ordered two roast dinners and told there was only turkey and gammon available. However, we overheard a waitress telling other customers there was only gammon left. When we asked the chef he said there was no more meat left after the small piece of gammon he was carving was finished and this was only 7pm so we got our refund and left. Had a poor breakfast there a while ago too so will never go back.

I use to own a parking company in Kent by law there has to be ample signage around and to my opinion there is outside and inside of the restaurant, I find the food and all the staff excellent a very friendly establishment I come in most days not just to eat but for drinks if customers can't see the signage they should not really be driving

I've been here on around 5 occasions, now (breakfast only) and I really can't fault the place. Under a fiver (£4.49) for a truly tasty, good quality, unlimited breakfast. The front of house ladies always seem happy, pleased to see you and greet you with a pleasant smile.

I hired a car to go and visit my mum for Easter and we went to the carvery for an evening roast. We made it just in time as they were closing soon (only 4 other cars in the car park) - we were served quickly and ate lovely food. In and out in 30 minutes! However I have now received a parking fine?! We have been going to the carvery for years but apparently now there are parking charges for the restaurant?! I did not see any signs in the car park and was not informed of any parking charges by the restaurant staff. I am also being charged £35 admin fee by the car hire company for the pleasure of receiving this fine. I am extremely disappointed and hope that the restaurant can fix this, otherwise we will not be returning.

Really didn't think we needed to look for parking regulations in a restaurant car park and I also don't recall seeing any meters or signs and you think the staff might have mentioned this? Think there was only about 10 cars in the car park anyway. Won't be going again and will be looking to post everywhere I can put a review, seriously ruined the occasion. Talk about pointless - this just drives business away. Also emailed the restaurant a few days ago for them to comment - not had a reply.

We have been frequent visitors to this establishment for the last couple of years, and whilst it’s not “The Ivy” the food is generally OK and serves its purpose, .....or at least we thought so until last night.

I saw no notices that there is now a parking management regime in place. No doubt the management would say that the notice is well placed and meets the legal requirements. That would be a con, which is what this is - another way to boost their revenues.

Went to the carvery for a family meal for 7 of us, spent over £100 and 2hslf hrs there was a nice meal, however week or so later myself and son both received a £85 fine each as we didn't realise there was a new parking system in place. Would of been nice for one of the waitresses to inform us or even a member of the bar staff. I have phoned the carvery in peace haven who have said that they will get both tickets cancelled, but after reading some of the comments on here seems the manger just post he will get the tickets cancelled if you phone in, but seems this doesn't happen and your fine still stands. Goes with out saying I will not be returning.

Called in for a light meal with my wife and her sister. We found ample parking with an odd car checkin system. We wanted a light snack we ordered a burger as it allowed us to have the salad bar. We wanted a spicy burger so ordered a raging bull which is one of their signature burgers. The burger was probably the worst burger my wife and myself have had in our life. Two meat (I think!) burgers which were tasteless and firm dripping in fat. It looked like they had been deep fried as it had so much grease. The cheese topping was tastless and as for the Raging bull Spice we failed to find it. The menu said topped with crispy onion ring. Well these were soggy and far from crispy. The salad bar was limited and would have expected a bit of variety. On a good point the staff were friendly and attentive. So to quote from the web site "hot delicious food made from the best quality ingredients " I think some work is needed on this. Not a good experience.

Nice meal,staff good,spoilt by £85-00 parking fine. I did not notice any signs telling me to give my car registration to a staff member and I wouldn't have been looking as I assumed it was still a free car park(silly me to think anything is free anymore)I will let my relatives and friends know. I had a nice carvery meal which I found value for money. The sting in the tail came 3 weeks later..a demand for £85.00 for not registering my car at the bar.

We took my mother-in-law out for Sunday lunch along with our children. We all booked the carvery and all of us had beef and turkey. The beef was so very tender and the Turkey was very succulent it was Delicious.In my opinion the veg was all cooked really nice, and hot but compared to some other Carvery's, there wasn't a big selection of vegetables . The horseradish sauce was very bland and sweetened and you only had one option of gravy which was onion. This caused a big problem for one of my Daughters who cannot eat onions or anything flavoured with it. I explained this to one of the waiters and was told it was only onion flavoured!!Not sure he actually listen to what i had told him and i asked if they could make her a small portion of normal beef gravy to be told they only had onion flavoured gravy so i asked if her dinner could be changed as without any gravy it would be a very plan and dry dinner and if we had known they only had onion gravy she wouldn't have picked the Carvery option, the waiter looked at me like i had 2 heads, and said he didn't know.I said we have never been to a carvery that only offers one option of gravy and asked to speak with a manager as i wasn't happy, at this point he then took the plate and said she could order something else from the menu but he made it obvious that he wasn't happy about doing it. My Husband ordered a Large Portion which was £2 more and the only difference was he got 2 small Yorkshire puddings instead of one and he got a sausage.

Basic but nice carvery, restaurant can be loud but good for the price, have to reg of car in when you enter which is unusual

The team here are very understanding of any needs and great with children, food is great and quick if you are going for the carvery, you can get in, sit down, get a good feed and be on your way home in 45 minutes or less if you are short of time. We eat here on a semi-regular basis and have done so for going on ten years.

Food was great, really well priced for the portions and taste. Our waitress Eileen was brilliant. Always around when needed very friendly she couldn't of done anymore. Will be back soon, must try the carvery and stop eating the delicious calzones haha!

Nice food but Sunday carvery was a smaller portion of meat than during the week. This is rather strange as it 80% more expensive on a Sunday than Monday to Saturday. Furthermore there was no special deal before 6pm for Mothers on Mothers Day! Also the beef and onion gravy had a 'V' beside and when my wife queried this as she wanted vegetarian gravy she was told that it definitely was veggie gravy despite the fact that it was labelled beef and onion!!!

Absoloutly bloody shocking, tastes like it was all cooked in the same pan. No eggs were available bread was full of water and the bacon is not bloody bacon its ham. Wouldn't advise anyone to go for a breakfast

Food was poor, used to do really good cod and chips but they have gone downhill. All three of us left more than half our dinner. Sad decline

We went to the Stonehouse intending to have lunch, however, one gentleman of our party has the onset of Dementia, and suddenly decided that the cliffs were too close (they are actually only visual in the distance from one of the windows). In order for him to be comfortable we left after having a drink.

Trip out to here was gr8. The meats were cooked to perfection, a good choice of vegetables. Always a bonus as the food was all hot, just like I like it. Friendly staff and helpful. Thank you guys for a gr8 meal 👍🏻

Ate there today Monday 11th March and was the best Carvery meal we have ever had from anywhere. We’ve been going there for a good few years and seems to get better and better. Lovely choice of vegetables which were perfectly cooked and great choice of everything overall. Great service too.

We come here often due to the breakfast being all-you-can eat and at a very cheap price. The range of food is good and always leaves us feeling full afterwards. Food usually is always topped up after a while. However, the eggs can take a long time and not enough brought out, so usually dont get a chance to have one. Buffet plates can sometimes have marks on or slightly dirty, but will always be given a clean one. Service is great, food is great and for the price, we will continue to return. Thanks!

We have been here quite a lot recently. Brilliant service always by Nicky who is always friendly and upbeat. The beef is now cooked to perfection (used to be a bit over cooked) Veg choice plentiful and usually good quality. A simple roast dinner for my very lazy attitude to actually cooking!

There is something for everyone on a budget at this restaurant. Carvery Salads Pizzas Nibbles Burgers and much more! The pick n mix are excellent for a group getting together....such a shame the duck cucumber etc pizza taken off the menu.

We have been here a few times for a carvery,which has always been ok, but after going last week,we won’t be going back!
