Great brevets steak lunch , one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. It was presented on a bed of spinach and a portion of potato lyonnaise. Well presented, promptly served but portions were a bit small. The steak was delicious but I personally felt a larger portion of potato lyonnaise would have made this a 10/10 . I left slightly hungry but thoroughly enjoyed this steak. Friends had a pottage of smoked haddock that they both loved.

we stopped for lunch on Saturday and the food was outstanding. We eat out a lot and thought we would give the place a try... I had panfried skate with tenderstem brocolli, sliced new potatoes and a veloute of mussels. It was superb as was the slow roated belly of pork with plenty of crackling and the cumberland sausage with creamy mash. We will defininitly return as soon as possible. Best meals we have had for months! Pudds was lovely and prices were reasonable. Service was excellent too!

The Green Man is what all pubs should be like, casual, warm and welcoming staff. We stopped of on the way past the pub and decided to give it a try, we were not disappointed , we both had the fish and chips, very nice food, expertly cocked and presented . Large portions.

Wow, what amazing food! The garlic mushrooms were to die for. The best meal we've had out in a long time. When we arrived at the pub we were greeted by a lovely atmosphere and the staff made us feel very welcomed. We came as a party of eight and they accommodated us very well. Great choice of food on the menu, I have two fussy kids and they both said to me today how they really enjoyed their dinner last night. We will definitely going back again and I've already shared on my social media how good this was. Well done to all at the hare & hound.

Breakfast is great. Very quick service and good value for money. Will definitely be back again - might try lunch next time

Incredible atmosphere! Really great staff, friendly and approachable. A warm home from home feeling to the place. I was attending an art course nearby and it was such a joy to be able to come back at the end of each day and sit with the glass of wine by the fire, enjoy a beautiful meal in the restaurant and then sleep in such a comfortable bed. I'll be back! Margriet

Unfortunately we felt on this occasion the food really was not up to the usual standard - whitebait over cooked - chips not their usual crispy delicious standard - but everyone has an off day and we said it would not deter us from returning HOWEVER we found out as we were leaving that after 14 years of trading the Orchard is due to close at the end of September 😔 So sad as , as a family some who are no longer with us it was always are “go to” place for a good quality home cooked meal . So what ever the owners plans are for the future we wish them good luck 😋

Have been here many times for lovely light lunches with a pretty salad. However that has now all gone. Lunches are awful and badly cooked and served with. CRISPS. Tuna melt lunch was horrid. Will not eat here again. Why change something that was so nice.?

Huge portions of well-cooked, quality food at very reasonable prices with large mugs of tea. Biker friendly with bikes always in the car park. My wife loved the tomatoes, mushrooms and hash browns. I had so much I had to take home a doggy bag!

Great place to meet chat and eat. Local produce menu cooked to just the way I like. Old smokey a favourite. The sharing platter for pudding lets you try it all. Staff cheery and keen to please. Far enough from A24 to be quiet yet very convenient. Knepp walks just up the road. Will go again.

A great pub - very welcoming (not cliquey), buzzing yet not overwhelming. A spacious eating area packed with atmosphere. Excellent menu inc a veggie "stack" with great ingredients. If it was our local we'd move in :-)
