We pre booked as a pre show treat, wish we didn’t! The menu was limited and one of the dishes wasn’t available. As there was a choice of 4 things that was 25% of the menu. The terrine starter was supposed to come with sour dough, but instead was dry cheap whole meal bread, limp lettuce and no butter, the chicken schnitzel was under seasoned, dry, yet greasy, the potato’s burnt and a microscope was needed for the veg, but at least they were there, unlike the walnuts in the coffee and walnut cake which had gone awol, but I don’t blame them to be honest!! On a positive, lovely view of the cathedral

Bounced about town before our ears found this place. Smiling bouncer, bumping lovely dancefloor and a DJ that is mixing for fun and for the crowd. Diverse crowd, seemingly 21+. UK garage and more on the day and everyone being friendly and having fun. Pints reasonably priced. No entry fee. Packed dancefloor but space to dance and have fun. Nothing inappropriate going on. Gem.

This is a decent and usually quite a busy Wetherspoons pub in the heart of Canterbury, making it a great place to stop off when exploring the city or shopping. It's pretty big with two levels, varied seating areas and even some tables along the pavement outside the pub but sadly no beer garden. You can even stay here as it's also a hotel. The food and drink is cheap and tasty as in most Wetherspoons pubs and brought out nice and quick. I would definitely recommend it if you want a bargain drink or meal when you are out in Canterbury.

The cooking is top-notch. I wish I could have eaten all my grub! Cauliflower soup with Camembert toasties would have been enough all by itself. But we also had wild mushroom suet pudding with rich gravy, outstanding! Dessert was a chocolate cremeaux (no I don’t know) with dots of a very raspberry purée and hazelnuts. The food here is inventive, even for veggies, but absolutely solid and satisfying.

Popped in for a drink before getting a train, 4 minutes round the corner. Early so good choice of seating. Saw there was a happy hour sign available for guests from 6-7 pm. Plenty of cocktails being ordered. We just had an IPA and a G&T. Nice friendly place

Had champagne afternoon tea. Staff were lovely, left us alone to chat but probably could have come over sooner to ask if we needed anything, sandwiches were tasty but the bread had dried out a bit and they had left the crusts on. Not what you expect. Scones and cakes were delicious though. I would recommend as ok and hope the bread was better.
