The cooking is top-notch. I wish I could have eaten all my grub! Cauliflower soup with Camembert toasties would have been enough all by itself. But we also had wild mushroom suet pudding with rich gravy, outstanding! Dessert was a chocolate cremeaux (no I don’t know) with dots of a very raspberry purée and hazelnuts. The food here is inventive, even for veggies, but absolutely solid and satisfying.

Herne Bay Road
We had a voucher for carvery at £6. We had never been before. When we arrived we felt a little lost as did not know the procedure. However once we found someone to help we relaxed and went to the bar to order the carvery. We could have ordered at the table, by using a barcode, but as we are in our seventies, and not too computer savvy we went to the bar. The carvery was lovely. Beef was cooked as i like it, although as it was a new joint they brought out, it was a little fatty. The turkey was delicious. We were very happy as there were brussel sprouts and swede mix which we love. We really enjoyed the meal. The only thing we left on our plates was the beef fat. Otherwise we ate everything else on our plate.

A291 Canterbury RdGreat place to eat and can take dog and messy grandchild without feeling uncomfortable. The staff are all lovely, I have often said it's the type of place I would want to work. Thanks

The GreenGreat location in a quiet village with garden, traditional pub food of high quality and reasonable price in an atmospheric old inn. Friendly staff. We've been a number of times over the years and it is our favourite. Only one bad experience when it was leased over a year or so ago.
