There is an open atmosphere of hostility here. The owners seem to be going through some kind of mental breakdown, I’ve looked at their Instagram and it’s pathetic and needy and quite honestly WEIRD. Food was okay though.

I had walked from the town centre just wanting a simple bacon roll but no cafe on the way did them from what I can tell. Came across Joe's and asked for a bacon and egg muffin and a capucinno. Lovely roll, exactly what i wanted and hot coffee (not the norm elsewhere) Really friendly service. Enjoyed it so much went back next day and had an sausage and egg muffin - 2 sausages and very filling. Next time i'm in Brighton will try a full breakfast. great place

Nice pub in local area - it doesn’t get massively busy either. Staff are friendly and it’s dog friendly as well. It’s a bit off the tourist trail but Sunday lunch is pretty good.

Absolutely terrible. We were sold a carnival Cabaret - with aerialist, fun car oval games and the fun atmosphere of the carnival… and in reality we had none of those things. There were two performers who loosely entertained us with a tiny step up from karaoke, burlesque-ish and some comedy. The food arrived cold, and somewhat inedible. Overall don’t bother.

I have only 2 Sunday roast requirements- either my husband’s at home or The Bristol! From the moment you arrive these wonderful people know what they’re doing. It was a grotty old day outside but inside was all amazing service and even more amazing food. The wonderful manager pops up now and again for a wee chat - a true gent and someone who understands the meaning of personal service. We’ve lived in Brighton for nearly 20 years and it’s our go to for a Sunday Roast - you won’t be disappointed!

The art wall in the St George, all for sale. Lovely unexpected experience. And the drink isn't bad either. Seriously local pub.

We had been waiting for quite a long time for food and noticed others getting chips from other places so we did the same. The staff didn’t say anything so ate and ordered some drinks. However, there was a family beside us that ended up getting kicked out by a vile man who said he was the manager. Firstly we had noticed a miserable waitress who I think had an issue with the family. First asking them to move a bike which was in no one’s way. I’d like to mention there were many bikes there as it was a charity bike ride but she didn’t tell anyone else to move theirs. Then she told them they couldn’t eat outside food but her tone was aggressive and not at all warranted. Especially when we were all eating from outside. I saw the lady at the table hand her the plates once she knew. I did hear the lady at the table ask if she was happy in her work as she did seem to be picking at them. A while later a very rude man came out and told them to leave. They tried to explain what had happened and he was having none of it. He claimed to be the manager but his energy was horrible. You could tell he was ready for a fight. The family did all talk at the same time as they wanted to explain and they were accused of being aggressive and was told the police would be called. I was so embarrassed for them. Such a lovely family. The small child was reduced to tears. I will never go back again. Very poor customer service. Never seen anything like it

Their publicity posters say 'best fish and chips'. Well this was the worst cod and chips we had. The cod was tasteless as was the frozen chips.

This was the worst food I've ever been presented with . Jacket potato tiny hard skin lump of tuna no mayonnaise or butter so so dry couldn't eat it , bit of floppy salad - just horrendous . My daughter ordered cheese chips which was a solid mass which you could pick up in a lump . She felt sick later after eating a few of the chips. We complained - no refund just offered a piece of cake free , we each paid 10 pounds . Waitress said the manager told staff to put little tuna in potato and not nych mayonnaise no butter . He needs to be sacked . Disgusted .
