We visited for my stag do and had an incredible time – the performances were absolutely fantastic and made the whole experience really memorable. The drag host, Karen Sharman, was hilarious, full of energy, and a true professional – she had the whole room buzzing. Our server, Ruby, was also outstanding – friendly, attentive, and really added to the great atmosphere. However, we were caught off guard by some unexpected charges. On top of the ticket price, we were asked to pay both a cover charge and a performance fee, neither of which were clearly highlighted at the time of booking. What felt particularly unfair was that the performance fee was calculated as a percentage of what we spent on drinks and extras. If there’s going to be a performance fee at all (which feels unnecessary, considering the ticket is advertised as including performances), it should at the very least be a flat, upfront cost. The way it’s currently handled felt a bit misleading. Drink service started off well, and the pizza portions were more than generous – we didn’t even touch the second round! That said, we noticed the drinks slowed down significantly about two-thirds of the way through the session. We were also a bit disappointed not to have a choice of cocktails, as one had been preselected for everyone (luckily we all liked the flavour). The vegan pizzas took much longer to arrive, and when they did, they turned out to be frozen Chicago Town pizzas – a noticeable drop in quality compared to everything else. Finally, it felt a little disingenuous to be encouraged to leave a 4- or 5-star review before being presented with the final bill that included these extra charges. Despite these gripes, the show itself was top-notch and we really did enjoy the overall experience. We just wish the pricing had been more transparent, so we could’ve gone in with clearer expectations.

Never been to a show like this before. Best time ever out with friends. Dolly is great, so much fun and laughter. Laughed so so much. The drag was the best part of the night for me. Seen a lot of shows, few with the extravaganza talent of Dolly!! Really brilliant cabaret show. Although the team of waiters were exceptional, I had a really watery espresso martini (£13), I went for an old fashioned next which was perfect. And we were lumped with £36 fee for the entertainment and a £6 or £9 service fee. That's after purchasing the premium package ticket which apparently only includes: •Entry •1 pizza on rotation for our table of three people. •Sex on the beach poured out of jugs by servers if they walked by. Great venue, great staff, shady event management.

Arrived for a hen do. Unorganised to say the least. The Entertainers were great. Food was not nice and a disappointment of 2 options vegetarian or lamb. At the end of the evening despite us prepaying for the event they tried to add a futher £250 for Entertainers cost. Thankfully we had all kept a record of all drinks order as they had also tried to charge for drinks that we hadn't ordered and 4 that didn't arrive. Just be mindful of this and don't be afraid to challenge it as a lot of people had the same problem. I think they rely on people drinking a lot and just paying the bill. It's a shame the evening ended that way as the entertainment was great and I wouldn't want the take it away from them.

Went for drag brunch. The food was inedible and cocktails very watered down. The show was a let down- only the compere doing a few songs and one guy doing a dance then a song. The rest was audience participation karaoke which no one wants to do. Quite frankly a lazy way to fill a show. Do not waste your money here.

I want to say that this review is nothing to do with the acts themselves, Dolly Rocket was brilliant, quick, funny and hosted a great evening of entertainment, and the ladies were very impressive. My review is about the way we were treated on the door as we arrived and more specifically as I was trying to leave. We came for my sister in law to be's hen weekend, we followed the website's clear guidelines which stated no fancy dress allowed, but they encourage feather bowers, so one of the bridesmaids has spent money ordering these for our group of 13. As soon as we arrived we were told to take them off as apparently they are a fire hazard, even though we said what the website stated, apparently that is likely for the London venue, even though it does not say that, so they were a complete waste of money. Once the show ended, the group were staying on for cocktails but as I am almost 6 months pregnant, I paid my share to one of the group and went to leave. As I went to walk out, the bouncer on the door asked me where my stamp was, which I didn't know what she was talking about. She quickly let me know that it was to prove I had paid and as I didn't have a stamp I couldn't leave. I explained that I had paid a member of my group, who were staying on for more drinks as they were staying in Brighton, but as I was pregnant, I had a lift waiting for me to go home. I was quite shocked when, while blocking the door she looked up and down the street, to then tell me that she couldn't see any cars out there, as if I was lying and just trying to make up an excuse for a quick get away (my lift was in fact at the bottom of the road, exactly as I had said, not that I feel I should have even had to explain this). The bouncer was still reluctant to let me leave and kept reiterating she couldn't let me leave without a stamp. I re explained that my group were planning to spend more money at the venue and were not leaving, so would not be paying the bill yet, so what did she want me to do? It was almost 11pm and I was an absolutely exhausted pregnant woman (who had it not been my sister in law's hen weekend, I wouldn't have gone due to nausea, exhaustion etc). At this point I am not sure if she reluctantly let me leave or if I just backed out the door and felt the need to run/waddle to my lift in case she was coming up behind me. While I understand venues such as this will have had issues with people not paying, or causing other issues, it really did feel like on arrival and especially when leaving, we were being spoken to as if we had already caused an issue and just generally being treated as if we were already guilty, not in the slightest as valued customers (who might I add, ended up spending over £1,000 as a group). I also feel that the food is over priced for what you get, some of our group's came out cold, sides were forgotten (but still initially charged for, although when we let them know they did take off this cost), and just didn't taste great. If it hadn't been for the entertainment, we would have left and not returned.

Came for a hen party and while the performers were fantastic and the show itself was entertaining, I was appalled by the quality of the food and the price. A cold, dry waffle with bits of bacon and sad rocket salad followed by a grainy, bad tasting cheesecake that had obviously just been defrosted. Every single person in my party sent it back as well as other tables around us and it seemed like the servers weren't surprised... The bottomless cocktail for an hour was basically juice and could barely taste or feel a drop of alcohol. And not to mention at least an hour of the performance was passed on to the guests in the form of Karaoke! £34 for this with a large hidden performance charge? As someone who regularly frequents burlesque and drag cabaret in the more independent scene in other locations, save your money, spend less and give it to independent drag performers who put on the same quality shows.

Terrible. Booked online and turned up to be told that they were fully booked and we shouldn't have booked the tickets for the event as they had been sold out for at least 24 hours. We had confirmation of the booking, and email with tickets to scan and £99 had been taken from my account. However we were still refused entry. Woman on the door was unhelpful, refused to get a manager and just said we have to speak to the sales team. Treated as if it was my fault for booking tickets online when there was nothing online to say event was sold out. In this day and age it's not hard to mark an event as sold out online so all this amounts to fraud in my book.

Amazing night!The performances were outstanding,funny,sexy really high quality entertainment.Dinner was very tasty and our waiter Julia was great,keep checking in with us . We were well looked after. Can only recommend!!

My friends and I attended the brunch on Saturday for my friends hen, each paid £57 for a disgusting waffle with a bit of bacon and an inedible cheesecake which tasted like it had curdled. This was followed by only 1 hour of bottomless sex on the beach cocktail which was extremely watered down. The drag acts were good however there were just 4 short performances. Extremely shocked when the bill came and had to pay an extra performance fee especially when half the performance is actually the customers singing karaoke. We left there feeling sober, hungry and massively out of pocket. This was the main event of my friends hen do and it was so disappointing.

Truly amazing and very seductive place to go out for a special occasion to say the least. We were extremely well looked after from start to finish with regards to our table area as well what we had ordered for dinner. I was approached outright by sales rep (Daniele) who was extremely attentive and made our booking really easy to handle. We had a lovely experience at the Haus Of Cabaret and highly recommend it as certainly something worth considering if your visiting Brighton for the weekend! Always check to see what acts are on for that particular showing as well.

We experienced the brunch and dinner event. Entertainment was great, however the food was very poor, especially the brunch waffle, service was incredibly slow (served 2 drinks in almost 4 hours), long breaks which seemed unnecessary and kept adding more to the bill. We were over charged and then the bride was almost refused exit of the venue because she didn’t have a stamp to say she paid.

Best night!! A good laugh and lovely talent.

The food here was pretty awful. My pasta was stone cold in places and luke warm at best. What was really shocking was the fact that our ticket (discounted and pre paid) was included in our bill at the end, then the 'entertainment charge' % fee was charged on the full price of the ticket, then they deducted what we'd already paid. We bought 13 drinks and ended up with a bill of £270!! The drinks were £13 each meaning the rest was 'entertainment charge'. Ouch. Yes they say it's applied to the 'total bill' but having already paid for entry and food, we assumed this was only added to purchases made on the night. Be warned, this is a expensive night out for OK entertainment and poor food.

Cannot fault the entertainment. The food, however, was very poor. The entertainment fee was hefty and levied on a full price ticket not the discounted price we’d booked with. The entertainment fee wasn’t clear and came as a shock at the end of the night. Feel slightly robbed. It’s sad as the entertainment was good, I wouldn’t recommend the venue.

Acts were really good, Dolly was fab and obviously an old pro although second half shamelessly padded out with ‘karaoke’ which got pretty tiresome by the murder of the sixth or seventh song. ‘Nibbles’ were OKish with friendly staff but the surprise extra charges at the end were cheekier than Dolly’s bare behind.

Drag brunch: Great drag acts, lovely servers, and nice venue. Very poor quality food, too expensive, and lack of transparency on pricing on entertainment. Supermarket waffles with two bits of bacon followed by a partially defrosted cheesecake and accompanied with sex on the beach cocktails for a limited period and had very little alcohol in at all = £98 for two. Utterly ridiculous. Cover charge and entertainment fee on top of that. I've no objections to paying these charges but they were not made clear and made the full package significantly overpriced. When we queried this we were told this is visible on the website, but we booked with a voucher by phone and were never informed. The server also said that many people have the same query so this confusion is clearly known about and deliberately not rectified. They even have to stamp people's hands before they leave to show they've paid as clearly some people are refusing. We were also not told that the last hour or so of the entertainment was actually karaoke. One performer even said that no one who came ever realised there was karaoke on, which shows how deliberately unclear they are about this too. Someone is clearly making a lot of money off of this, but it is clearly not the servers or performers who were the only good things about the experience. Also to note, they offer a free shot to anyone who leaves a five star review. Offered well before the bill arrives. So if you see any five star reviews, I wouldn't trust them.

Food was so bad that it was like a uni student cooking for the first time! Very dry chicken and the penne arrabiata was literally topped with crisps and random vegan nuggets! The entertainment felt very amateur and came with an additional 15% entertainment charge on the bill (in addition to the service charge). Even with 50% of food, it was such poor quality, it still wasn't worth it!

After going to the London one I had high hopes for this but was bored. Same lady talking and singing most of the night. Same 3 acts, 2 ladies and one man who were amazing but not enough acts and was bored. Not impressed for the money.

Very nice venue, nice atmosphere. It was a reggae roast/lovers rock concert, so different from a normal concert there.

We have been here a couple of times now and it never fails to entertain us all the staff from the door staff to the entertainers are brilliant and so friendly. I definitely recommend coming here .

Had an amazing night, amazing performers, great vibes and wonderful staff!! Maxie was our waitress and she was such good fun and looked after us well. Would highly recommend for any celebration/just a fun and different night out with friends! Be prepared to drink, cheer and laugh…a lot!

Show was cancelled without even notifying us, found out when we turned up! Went to the show the next day which had barely any performers & the food really was awful. Do not spend your money on the tickets or dinner. Not worth it.

Possibly the poorest quality cabaret I have ever seen, very short sets followed by the host rambling for hours in between. The vegan food was beyond dismal and not much short of inedible. Overcooked pasta in a tiny bowl feels discourteous. The service staff tried but I’m afraid they had little or no experience and appeared if they had just finished a day shift in Asda. Having run large scale events I can see that this is a money maker for someone without scruples. I’m also afraid the hidden charges feel disingenuous and the fact that they are hidden in the terms and conditions of the booking is deliberate. Hundreds of pounds and a birthday celebration marred by a very low quality experience. Might just work for a very drunk hen night where quality takes second fiddle to an overpriced cocktail and poor language. The website is very glossy and is no way reflective of the experience. Avoid.

Poor customer service, tacky host and the worst food I think I’ve ever had. Vegetarian meal was over-cooked pasta in cheap tomato sauce. I kid you not. Host swore every other word and the place was filthy. Toilets are not at all accessible - unless you’re stick man and also filthy. But the highlight absolutely is the hidden charges. If you thought £200 for tickets and meal sounds reasonable you’re wrong - as when you get the bill they add on hidden charges that are hidden in the depths of their T+Cs - another £50 - yeah that sounds fair considering the staff are all 11 and unable to even bring the right drinks! Shocking waste of time and money.

I am giving this 2 stars because the drag queens put on a great show, besides that this was horrendous. I will note here, it turns out that a main part of the show is karaoke which is done by the guests. The show I had booked got cancelled twice with only a couple of days notice, after the second cancellation I requested a refund. The team said they would pass this on but my email was ignored for almost two months. When I called they said they are unable to refund it and offered to upgrade it to the brunch package. A few days before the show they sent an email saying that the show would start an hour early and to come at 10:30. Myself and other people had to wait out in the cold for over 45 minutes, we tried to call them a few times to ask if they could please let us wait inside as it was really windy and freezing. Once let in we found out that the bottomless prosecco doesn't start until 12:30 and the brunch itself was one store bought cold stale waffle with bits of bacon and syrup, followed by a slice of cheesecake that smelled odd. As it was brunch we wanted to order some teas and coffees to warm up (there was also no heating inside the venue) which they said they don't have. After the show everyone (not just us) had to pay another 25£ for the show. Considering the brunch tickets are 65£ each I don't think this is worth it.

The show was fab. Loved the compare abd the performers were good. The food not so great. The main was cold and the dessert (cheesecake) was warm. The portions were also tiny. The drinks menu was also very pricey and the cocktails poor. They tried to bump on an 'entertainment' charge of £22 even though we'd already bought £80/person tickets. We were also sat right next to the smoke machine which was choking us and the couple next to us - multiple times, it was so thick we could just about see across the table. If they improved the food and didn't try to sneak extra charges, I'd definitely return.

The show was brilliant, very funny and amusing, the girls servicing were very friendly and helpful, Food was very poor, we had Saturday brunch, a lukewarm waffle with syrup and chopped bacon, then a cheese cake. Drink prices are a rip off £13 for a cocktail 🍸 we paid £98 for the show and brunch, the two cocktails £26, £4 cover charge, £19 entertainment charge, so all in £147 for two people, complete rip off would not recommend, and will not be going again.

A night at Proud promised an exciting experience, but the reality did not quite match the expectations. With an £80 ticket price, I anticipated quality food, engaging entertainment and a lively atmosphere. The food was disappointing. A small bowl of soup, a single chicken thigh and a few potatoes did not justify the price. The vegetarian option looked uninspiring, reinforcing the impression that the food was not a priority. Simple improvements like offering fresh bread on the tables and more generous portions would make a big difference. Drinks were another letdown. Cocktails were noticeably watered down and the portion sizes were smaller than expected. While it is common for venues to make a profit on drinks, the approach here felt excessive. The long wait for food seemed designed to encourage more drink orders rather than being a natural part of the service. The entertainment was the highlight of the evening. The acts were polished and professional and the hostess was outstanding. She was engaging, charismatic and had full control of the room, ensuring guests stayed involved throughout the night. However, despite repeated warnings that things would get wild, the atmosphere remained fairly tame. Audience participation mostly consisted of guests being brought on stage for a brief dance, which did not add much to the experience. The most frustrating part of the night came when a £100 donation for the acts was quietly added to the bill. Supporting performers is important, but this charge felt deceptive. Many guests would likely have been happy to contribute if asked directly at the end, rather than discovering it unexpectedly in the final total. Proud has the potential to offer a fantastic night out with its strong entertainment, lively atmosphere and a hostess who truly knows how to engage a crowd. However, the experience does not match the price. Either lowering the ticket price to fill the room or keeping it at £80 while improving the food would make a significant difference. At the moment, it feels like a venue focused on squeezing as much money as possible from guests rather than providing a balanced and enjoyable evening. Until these issues are addressed, it is difficult to recommend.

The show was good, food was ok and the staff were lovely, but when we got our bill we realised we had been charged a mandatory service charged. We also then realised that the bottomless cocktail brunch only actually includes the watered down sex on the beach. It’s on us for not realising the terms of the package, but others there that evening had similar issues. Regardless I thought it was a bit of a rip off.

Disappointing experience! Refused entry despite confirmation - oversold venue. Ruined our anniversary trip to Brighton. No communication or refund! Unacceptable

Wish I could give this a 0 but this is not an option. I tried to give this the benefit of the doubt, despite the number of negative reviews. The show sounded fun, so I went ahead and booked it as a surprise for my partner for our anniversary. However, when we turned up to the venue, we found out that the show was cancelled by chance, by two members of staff who were outside smoking. This of course came as a surprise, not only because we were not informed of this prior to making our way into Brighton, but also because I was speaking to a member of staff on the cabaret's web chat on the same day. I was following up because I did not receive a pre order link, something which I requested a week prior and was told this would be emailed to me, but it never did. Despite speaking to a member of staff about this on the day of the show, not at any point was I advised about the cancellation. I was provided with a business card when I learned that the show was cancelled, for the venues manager. They never replied to my email, and so I contacted the head office. From there on the customer service is what I can only describe as shocking, not only due to lack of empathy, but the way this complaint has been handled. Initially I was advised I can either rebook or get a refund. I chose to rebook initially, provided them with a date and never received a confirmation. I followed up a week later to advise that since the rebooking has not been confirmed as I received no response to my email, I didn't want to waste another evening, and I would like a refund. I was then told that they are unable to refund me as the booking was made via Groupon. The big mistake here was also booking this show through Groupon as now no one wants to take the blame and compensate me. To this day I still haven't received a refund. Honestly not book this - it's a waste of your money and time.

Great entertainment. Staff worked really hard. Food was ok ish, expectations weren’t high. Drinks were very expensive, cocktails tasted weak. The only reason I would go back would be for the entertainment. There was also a lot of email ‘admin’ before the event, including an email about do’s and dont’s.

Went to our works Christmas party. The entertainment was ok, the staff worked really hard as the place was heaving. However, the food was not great. The French onion soup came with a finger roll, the type you would use for a hotdog. It was edible, but not to everyone. I had the winter vegtable wellington which said it came came with sprouts, carrots, parsnips and roast potatoes. Please check out my photo. One sprout, 4 tiny carrots and one parsnip. 2 potatoes. The portion was that of a child. The veg looked like it was from a frozen veg bag and slightly over cooked. It all tasted ok, but what a ridiculous portion. I did ask for more veg. Which I did get given. But to be served this, for £49.99 was crazy. I personally would not go back. The girls on stage were entertaining, but seen better.

Awful food and very tacky environment, cabaret dancers ,drag queens ok but not great . It was ridiculously overpriced at £49 for inedible food, I was served two rotten potatoes but as I couldn’t eat it , I didn’t complain. Staff rushing around and forgot our drinks order several time. Wine £39 for a bottle that wasn’t worth £5. Do not recommend
