Nice concerts, very bad sound system.

As a disabled person, the bar staff were extremely helpful in getting my wheelchair and me up the stairs to the music venue, the women's toilets were very clean and the beer prices were very good too,wheelchair entry at the side door

Door staff let the venue down. Used to come a lot with friends but their random policies keep us away now.

I went to the toilet and the owner and his friends was smoking in there at 17:00 and I asked them to stop as I am very asthmatic and they laughed at me and sparked another cigarette… I will be reporting to trading standards

Normally, I like Prince Albert but I had an awful experience there the other week. The manager treated me really badly and now I won’t be going back there.

I love 'The Albert', been attending gigs there for many years - we even use it as a pub whenever we're passing.

Quintessentially Brighton! In recent years that is… Brighton used to be a place for everyone, Your background your creed your creative flair was appreciated, almost valued. Tonight we went in this once fantastic venue, we entered the bar that we have drunk in for over 30-40 years and was told straight away we can not order in this bar, you have to go to the front bar as the bar we were in was too busy. Without exaggeration, there was no one actually at the bar with 3-4 people behind us at the bar.. She took actual joy in telling us to queue at the front bar egged on by her colleague’s!!! What a quintessential Brighton English customer service! Not just bars that have this attitude, it’s in every field, anyone that is not happy in their work play these little mind games to make their life’s just that little bit more interesting, welcome to the Uk 🇬🇧!! I’ve championed and helped this pub over the years, especially in recent times with their huge issues, but that’s it, the new management lives in cuckoo land along with holding and maintaining bundles of arrogance. No training of its staff to a international professional standard or any standard whatsoever, just a nice little sweet English one, not. ‘They’ actually think is cool customer service! but unfortunately they’ll get their wake-up call soon, suspect it will be sooner than they expect. Such Brighton arrogance! Brighton is on the world map, people from all around the world visit here and they love it here but old school places like this and other establishments being run like the way they are running their shows are just simply letting the side down and are an accident waiting to happen, especially these days with businesses, shops restaurants getting closed down every day, it doesn’t matter what field industry you’re in. This pub though, back on subject, has such overwhelming arrogance now, it’s sickening, it’s presently being run really poorly, it’s such a classic brilliant pub but for me, it’s owners deserves everything it’s going to get, which will be it’s eventual downfall. They are simply masters of their own downfall. Such a shame these great places are being run by people that are not fit for purpose, harsh but true. It’s so so Brighton, these days that is, broken….

A rare thing in Brighton or anywhere else - a great gig venue that has a great beer selection. A few decent cask ales and one unusual cask cider. Staff are genuinely helpful & friendly. The gig space upstairs is small with good sound and views of the stage throughout. A gem of a place!

One of the best pubs I’ve ever been to! My sister and I tried to get some food at the end of the night, but unfortunately the nearby takeaway was closed. When I came back empty handed, the bouncers very kindly gave us their food. The nicest bouncers I’ve ever met, reasonably priced drinks and warm welcoming atmosphere. Can’t recommend The Prince Albert enough.

Went to The Prince Albert for a gig. It's a real 'back in the day' pub with low key security, fruendky bar staff, decent prices and a room upstairs with a sound system and a stage. What's not to like!

Fantastic pub with a great little gig venue upstairs. I've seen some great bands here and had plenty of evenings with good friends. Would recommend it and will be back!

Can’t comment on food but this is one of my favourite venues in Brighton - gluten free beers (£5 for a super pale which they charge £7.50 for at the hope and ruin), a roaring fire and a great crowd. Staff are on it and good fun too. Venue room is small which a good stage. On top.

This is our new favourite 'first and last' pub in Brighton! We usually get off the train and head down towards the beach area of town, but we like to grab a first pint somewhere close to the station. We tried this pub on our way home recently and the ale was gorgeous and well kept. My wife had half a cider (for which I can't remember the name) which she said was very nice and refreshing. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and for that reason we'll definitely be back on our next visit for the first and last pint of the trip. We noted there seems to be plenty of music at this place, and other entertainment. Well worth a look if that's your thing!

Brilliant family run pub, great beers , good prices, popped in with actor /musician Chris O'Neil who was George Harrison in the film BACKBEAT pub has a 150 capacity touring band venue upstairs .

What is there not to like about the Albert. Good beer, great atmosphere and some really good bands playing upstairs. Literally a stones throw from the train station.

Absolutely brilliant night, such a great band, even though it was quiet and not busy, the atmosphere was so good, thoroughly enjoyed it, but there again always do in the albert, as find it one of best pubs in brighton, and well worth supporting, as live entertainment venues are becoming so rare now...

Cool pub in central Brighton, not far from Brighton Train Station. Friendly staff and a good selection of beers. Has various separated areas to sit in with a larger area around the bar. Hosts live music events, not attended one myself.

I can confidently say that this is one of my favorite pubs I have ever been to. Great drinks, very nice service and, above all, a really wonderful atmosphere. The place is simply unique.

Atmospheric place. Two bars (top, bottom). Several "rooms" with tables and chairs (you can create your own atmosphere). The concert venue is modest, but about 70 people will have fun. Simple decor, without unnecessary gadgets. Nice service.

A cult good old fashioned Rock and Roll place with a very particular atmosphere, seems like you’d traveled in time when you arrive… we had an incredible time there, good local bands played, we share some beers and the night would always be on our memory, cheers mates..!!! 🤟🏾🙃💪🏾🤩

The Prince Albert is one of my favourite hangout spots in Brighton. It’s also a great place to start a night out. The pub has a relaxed atmosphere and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. Each room has its own unique charm. It’s very homely. I would definitely recommend The Prince Albert to anyone looking for a fun and lively pub in Brighton on a weekend. Or a quieter hangout spot on a weekday.

I always have a lovely welcoming time here. I've seen an eclectic range of music here. I love how they give everyone a platform even Garry. I once drank 9 super pales here gluten free and vegan pale ale, is highly recommend. The logo is pretty good too but I tried to get a t-shirt but the brewery didn't take kindling to advertising advice even though I've seen all episodes of MadMen. Everytime I go to a gig upstairs though I am distracted, distracted by there disco ball. Not for the right reasons unfortunately. It's very dusty. I was watching a gig once about a year ago when I noticed, Emily something... Bought a t-shirt which says 'love will save the day' unfortunately love has not been bestowed on this poor ball. The the film of dust even distracted me and put me off bidding at a charity auction. When I saw Darek play I could focus due to dusty disco. I love the venue, amazing staff an quite affordable drink for Brighton. Also the dot mural 💯, so yes you would get 5 stars if you got out the Mr Sheen. You know what to do 💜

Poorly cleaned and run down pub, expensive drinks, slow service, poorly trained and rude staff would give zero stars if I could

Awful rude staff, one employee grabbed hold of my arm very aggressively as I was leaving to tell me I’d left a bag behind, I thanked them, however I also asked them politely not to touch me, as I felt it was inappropriate, they then proceeded to grab my arm again to take me back to my table to make me check if I’d left any other items. After the second time I politely said I felt physical contact was wholly inappropriate, they told me to leave. I am concerned that it would be considered acceptable to touch a customer without their permission, as the first instant was very aggressive and very unexpected. I don’t know why the member of staff felt it at all appropriate to commit what felt like an assault of a paying customer. Such behaviour is appalling and to make any excuse for it from management in any reply to this review would be an a concerning endorsement for inappropriate touching of customers. The incident made me feel very uncomfortable, and put a damper on an otherwise nice afternoon out in Brighton. Thankfully I got to go to other better establishments later on in the day.

Love the whole place, from the quirky downstairs rooms to the iconic upstairs live venue, this is probably the best music bar in Brighton. The Mod/Rocking weekend here is second to none!

Fun and easy going! And yeah the Banksy was snapped by touristy me. The Banksy print that is. Surprisingly good considering proximity to the station.

Been here mostly as a venue but it's also basically the perfect pub. The gig room upstairs is great. The other local small venues are all amazing too but have a downside each- The Hope and Ruin has a big metal pole right in front of the stage, the Green Door Store has its cobbled uneven floor, and the Pipeline has an annoying wooden bench near the front- this place has none of those! Lots of room to dance and mosh without worrying about bashing your head. There's air con for when it gets hot, and a smaller bar at the back just for gig goers. Good stuff. The bar itself is probably the best in Brighton too. Amazing selection of drinks, including local beers and lots of interesting craft beers. Bar staff are all lovely and the pub is full of individual rooms you can sit in, as well as two outside areas. Nice decor and atmosphere, super friendly and welcoming, and the building itself has that mural of course. My favourite pub.

I went here a few days ago to see an acoustic performance by indie rockers echobelly. Probably about 100 people max capacity but I was right at the front and had a great view!!! I would come back again.

A bit rough and ready but conveniently near railway station. Visit six Brighton pubs in three day holiday, this was the only one I went to more than once. Reason being the cider - Ascension Mothership (6%) which was the best I had in Brighton

Great place for meeting on a match day ahead of any Brighton and Hove Albion games. Easy walk to the station, lots of staff.

First time at The Albert, i'd heard about, but not been before....what an amazing pub, loads of nooks and crannies and a true Rock'n'Roll watering hole, staff were very friendly and helpful. I'll definately be back next time i'm in Brighton :-)

This place kinda rules. It would be considered a dive bar in America but here the hipstery staff are actually pleasant and helpful.

They don't do food anymore. The atmospheric is brilliant and the wonderful bar staff make sure you never have to wait to be served.

A beautiful pub just down the road from Brighton train station. A very quirky pub, with loads of different themed rooms. Staff peeps are always very friendly and the selection of beers is excellent. I would highly recommend a visit.

Un lieux absolument incroyable et incontournable de Brighton ! C'est pour moi le pub le plus typique de la ville, entre tag d'artistes dont original de Banksy, musique rock'n'roll et bières abordables ! Il faut impérativement s'arrêter quelques minutes profiter de cet endroit chargé de culture anglaise !

This is a place that I have been to a few times now. The atmosphere is good. The last visit was for a friend's birthday. A small function room was hired and was comfortable. Giving us a space of our own. There's lots of benches out front and a smoking area at the back. The staff were friendly.
