Nice pub in local area - it doesn’t get massively busy either. Staff are friendly and it’s dog friendly as well. It’s a bit off the tourist trail but Sunday lunch is pretty good.

Called into The Rock Inn yesterday for a Sunday Roast and was pleasantly surprised. Roast beef and all the trimmings, delicious. Definitely be back.

A strange pub with a children's party in full swing on a Saturday afternoon. We were forced to drink in a gunny little back room / store cupboard. I'm not sure I'll be rushing back.

Popped in for a couple of drinks this evening. Very reasonable prices and lovely welcoming staff and a nice atmosphere. Although we didn't eat the food looked good.

Really like this unusual, in a good way, pub. Really friendly staff, Sunday lunch was great and had a calm relaxed atmosphere. Seating and tables in the bar area and more round the side of the bar, plus a lounge area with comfy armchairs all round it. Really different and really nice. Would highly recommend the little extra effort it takes to walk from the more central area of Brighton. Think, relaxed, Victoriana, bit of jazz in the background and a couple of Mexican Day of the Dead skull art pieces to boot... Eclectic and cool 😎

My favourite pub in Kemptown. The food is top notch with locally sourced meat. I love the goat burger with tzatziki. 🤤

From the initial enquiry into using The Rock Inn Pub to host my event the guys here have been so helpful, kind and generous. My event had some unusual space requirements and this venue was perfect, so flexible. I couldn’t have asked for a better venue or better experience with the staff, great communication and cake recommendation!

It's a beautiful little hidden gem of a pub and needs more exposure! It also has a nice sunny patch to sit. Can't complain!

Absolutely love the relaxed atmosphere in here. I can take my small tribe of dogs in there, and they are treated like kings and queens. Warm, friendly staff and landlord, a rarity in what can be, quite a mean world at times. Thank you!

Visiting my daughter for the weekend, attended a drag curry-okie bingo night! Omg it was fabulous! A warm welcome from landlord, chef who made the curry (East Street Cafe) and just everyone. Such a fun night and the best curry I think I have ever had!!

Lovely pub with great community and perfect for Kemp Town. Really cosy and plenty of atmosphere. Loved the pop up food curry night! Ideally for hanging out and just what the area needs.

We were looking for a venue to hold our Christmas do (in January) for the Brighton RNLI. The guys at the Rock Inn were absolutely amazing in helping us host the event at their pub. They took care of the catering and were able to secure a part of the pub for a few hours early in the evening for speeches. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was amazing. It was really great to finish the evening off with their local resident DJ. Would highly recommend coming to these guys for a drink, a bite to eat or if you're hosting any kind of event!

The rock inn could not be more of a quintessential British pub, seriously go here. The vibes are impeccable, the food is excellent, great selection of drinks and an even better selection of pets.

A group of us popped into the Rock on the afternoon of New Year's Eve. We were greeted like locals in this cosy pub on the edge of Brighton. Just a short walk from the beach. A nice pint of ale, and although we didn't eat, the food looked great. Worth a visit.

Had an amazing goat burger. Really nice ambience with an open log fire. Will definitely be coming back.

I visited on a Thursday to make the most of their 2-4-1 burger deal, I opted for the goat burger, which was super tasty. The burger was made with locally sourced meat and served with homemade tzatziki and fries. In general, the pub had a lovely cozy atmosphere, with very friendly staff and regulars. We sat in a great spot in front of the fire, I will be visiting again soon.

We have recently moved into the area and we’re exceedingly pleased to discover this Gem of a pub. It is everything one would want in a local. Great house local bitter (Longman best) which doesn’t change every week! Nice Spanish lager on tap too. Sunday lunch is excellent as are the various international options during the week and you can order in from a Thai and Caribbean local takeaway. Music themes which are not obtrusive. All topped off with great friendly service! Use it or lose it!

We ran an awesome Latin fusion food collaboration with baldchefnick doing the food & gente de Mezcal supplying the Mezcal. The Rock Inn Pub is a great venue & does some awesome food evenings & Sunday lunches.

Lovely little pub. Very good Sunday roast, great live tunes, decent beer on tap, a good stock of board games on hand to boot. Perfect for a chill Sunday, and the bartender Lewis is a sweetheart. You must go!

Recently under new management, Sean and Samantha have transformed The Rock Inn into Kemptown's best 'new' pub. The Mexican food on a Wednesday is simply superb, great Sunday roasts and a warm and friendly welcome from staff and locals alike.

Good food. Great staff. Decent booze. Tad pricey, but it is Brighton i suppose.

We recently celebrated a birthday at the Rock Inn. It was the pefect venue. The staff were very attentive and the food was excellent. Highly recommended.

I've been a local to this pub since 1997 and while that means nothing to most readers it does mean I've seen it transform from one thing to another, about 5 different pubs with around 8 different landlords and landladies. The Rock Inn Pub is absolutely my favourite of all of the them Samantha and Sean are both very lovely people, drinks are always on point and the music is good too. Tonight we tried the burgers for the first time, we both had the Offham (Sussex) steak burger, this is real ground steak and not a purified shop item, the burgers were ace, delicious! The fries very crispy and just the way I like them and think they should be. Check it out, it's a great pub these days. The hake burger is also great, a king amongst pescian cuisine!

Love this pub and the new landlord and landlady are the loveliest people you could meet - so welcoming and friendly. We like to pop in for a chilled drink in the garden regularly, and we always have a great time and feel like we are part of the family already. I can reccomend the delicious food all made from scratch on site, and they have pop up kitchen nights as well for variety. Love you Rock Inn!

Stumbled upon this great pub today, whilst walking the streets of Brighton. What a fabulous welcome not only by the owners but also by the friendly pub dog Arthur. Nice beer selection, great interior with a fabulous little garden and only a short walk from the front. If only we were local, we’d be there all the time.

The Pub is now Under New Management has been refurbished through out, great atmosphere and great food. Now with Saturday BBqs and Sunday Lunches.

Fuimos allí para el almuerzo del domingo como un grupo de 4 en mis socios cumpleaños . El personal era muy lento con un servicio y no parecía estar familiarizado con el menú, aunque parecía impresionante en papel con una buena opción para comer verduras o para los consumidores de carne . Esperamos casi una hora para nuestra comida y teníamos hambre cuando llegó. La comida estaba fría y las porciones son pequeñas. Mi asado con frutos secos sabor como una mezcla de paquete de relleno cocinado en una forma de Açúcar. La lasaña lasaña vegetariana era aguachento . Ya que estábamos muy hambrientos comimos la comida, pero sinceramente, las comidas de la escuela son mejor que esto. Comimos fuera en Brighton cada fin de semana en una variedad de lugares y precios y está preparado para ser generoso pero fue como una experiencia Fawlty Towers - muy decepcionante. No puedo recomendar cualquiera para comer aquí.

friendly place with good beer - though i'd like to see more local beers! regularly visit here (when visiting family) and consistently quiet and local feel.

De martes a jueves para cenar, West African se sirve comida y fue absolutamente deliciosa. Tenía el pollo de mantequilla de maní con arroz y tenía el tomate picante pollo con arroz y tenía sabores sorprendentes. La pega es las mesas están un poco pegajosa y plato tiende a cumplir. Pero la comida lo compensa. si estás con algunos amigos y ansía algunos imbécil ante pollo, es una buena opción.

After looking forward to an Easter Sunday traditional roast, I was left regretting my decision choosing this bar/restaurant after becoming ill with food poisoning a few hours later after eating the roast lamb.........a memorable meal for all the wrong reasons!

There is a new chef cooking here on sundays,I had the best roast dinner I have had in Brighton! Generous portions and cooked to perfection.

Upset Neville has left. Will miss his food, have to find out where he's cooking. Staff said he is going to concentrate on making a success with his sauces and sell them in shops. If they are anything like his pub food he'll be famous.

Vine aquí para el almuerzo de domingo para el día del Padre, era un poco en el último minuto como cambio de planes. No hay carne que dejó sobresaliente o pollo para opciones de carne. sobresaliente parecía bueno, por desgracia el pollo estaba pechuga y muy, muy seco. verduras estaban guisantes, zanahorias, coliflor asado y ollas. No muy aventurero para un asado. El Sticky pudding toffees era tienda comprado, pero un buen precio con un helado por £3. El pescado y las patatas fritas que hace unas pocas semanas eran encantadores y he oído los curries son maravillosos. Por desgracia, las carnes asadas no coinciden hasta estas .

If you want good healthy well prepared food come to The Rock Inn where you will find Neville the chef, he'll prepare some beautiful food for you. Great gourmet experience on every visit.

We had heard from friends about this unassuming talented chef Neville whos been rustling up the best curries in Brighton for 18 years and they were right, we weren't dissappointed.We went along on Tuesday...his curry night. He cooked food to order.. mild or hot and he served us such an incredible king prawn biryani dish and bombay potatoe, best we'd ever tasted, given generous portions...so much we couldn't eat it all.The friendly bar staff told us he makes the best fish and chips on a Friday evening, great roasts on Sundays, prepares food for private functions and has occassional international cuisine theme nights.The Rock Inn will be the place to eat when we return to Brighton....what a find.
