I had walked from the town centre just wanting a simple bacon roll but no cafe on the way did them from what I can tell. Came across Joe's and asked for a bacon and egg muffin and a capucinno. Lovely roll, exactly what i wanted and hot coffee (not the norm elsewhere) Really friendly service. Enjoyed it so much went back next day and had an sausage and egg muffin - 2 sausages and very filling. Next time i'm in Brighton will try a full breakfast. great place

Lovely friendly place. We love coming here. The food is super, fresh, well prepared and tastes great. The place is always busy with locals and visitors to Brighton. You know it’s good when there’s regular locals here every time you come in. The people who work here are very friendly and welcoming. The owner Georges, is professional and seems to care about everyone who comes through the door. It makes the place stand out from any other café. If you’re walking on the seafront, just pop in land and visit. Oh, and they’re dog friendly too.

A very cool place to sit in, with antiques as well as food, but the vegan brekfast was very small. They served it with sachets of dairy butter - not great for something marked 'vegan'. However, the staff were nice and the food was tasy and fresh, depsite the very small portion.

We had to come to Brighton for a hospital appointment which took longer than expected. Afterwards, driving around looking for somewhere for a late lunch, we happened upon this place. What an unexpected, quirky, joy. A lovely welcome from George / Joe, and great food. A happy time.

Initial impression was of a quirkily decorated cafe incorporated within a bric a brac shop. A mixture of clientele - workmen, a business meeting, a lone laptop user. We sat at a table that could probably have done with a wipe down with a cloth, but hey, our server was attractive, friendly and warm. We ordered breakfast and coffees, and these were very good. The food took a while, but was tasty when it came. Our enjoyment declined rapidly upon the arrival of a very rude man who was meeting another customer. His language was inappropriate: swearing every other word, homophobic and transphobic, and addressing other customers in this way. His behaviour towards the staff was despicable. In my opinion he should have been asked to leave the premises. However, his demeanour was such that I suspect he would have kicked off at any moment, and the two young people behind the counter probably hesitated to confront him. We voted with our feet and left.

Quirky breakfast cafe in a vintage shop, outdoor seating. A bit expensive for what it is - eg: bacon and egg sandwich etc lots of other nicer cafes in a small radius from it

This friendly quaint little coffee shop provides reasonably priced coffee and more in comfy surroundings. The staff are attentive and nothing too much trouble. When you have finished eating and drinking, have a look around the shop, which sells clothes furniture and bric a brac

Half café, half flea market, we had breakfast and coffee in this large and eclectic place. We both went for the vegetarian option, at £7 I thought it was OK but nothing special, spinach was a bit stalky and my fried egg was a little under, coffee was OK there was a choice of almond or soya for dairy free, but I prefer oat milk in coffee as it mixes better. For me the ambience was better than the food and drink here.

What an excellent cafe, been here several times over the past few years. Got to say that the service is exceptional and this also goes for the food. Breakfast is always freshly cooked to order, excellent choice of coffee and cakes. Not to mention the boutique shop where you can buy anything from vintage luggage to retro trainers. Highly recommend for both breakfast and lunch! Look forward to going back!

Love this cafe, and the two guys that run it. Great fast friendly service with a good choice of sandwiches, croissants to eat. And coffees and teas. Prices are very reasonable especially when it is surrounded by so many other coffee shops. The cafe is part of a shop which seems to sell everything from clothes to bric a brac, all at reasonable prices

Great cafe in Kemp town, popped in with my daughter and baby to enjoy a spot of brunch. I had a push chair with me and was made to feel very welcome and the staff moved the tables around to accommodate us. My daughter was given some colouring pencils and paper which she was delighted with. I had a delicious full English breakfast and my daughter had a bacon sandwich. The quality of the sausages and bacon was excellent and made a really tasty plate of food. Fantastic value for money too. The owner and staff members were bright and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely visit here again as a great place to hang out and enjoy rummaging through the vintage shop too.

We were looking for a place to eat, while my daughter was waiting the birth of our grandchild! We had our dog with us, but were welcomed in! What a good choice we made!! We stayed there for the afternoon, eating, browsing the vintage clothes, chatting to the staff, who having picked up from our conversations that it was my birthday, played happy birthday on the music system!! Low key, but high quality food and service!! My daughter said it made all the difference to her birth experience being able to relax in a normal setting, rather than a hospital room, before she ultimately gave birth the next day in the nearby hospital! Thanks to all at A cup of Joes, we will be back with the baby soon!!!

Since the new owner took over I’ve become a regular - the sandwiches are so nice and with *so* much filling, they’re such good value compared to most places. The owner is really friendly and accommodating and I can usually park outside.

Just had to wait 40 minutes for breakfast and missed our train. I was told that the delay was because they were very busy, which clearly wasn’t true as the place wasn’t full. Our order had obviously got forgotten even though they were overstaffed. I counted 4 people serving about 15 customers. The staff were happily talking about their holidays and dating, and taking cigarette breaks, rather than checking the orders had been processed. The chef even came out for a coffee break and gossip - while we had been waiting 30 mins. In fairness they did apologise profusely and took some items off the bill. The breakfast was ok when it came but certainly not worth the wait.
