Nothing on the hot plate, all other dishes covered? Eventually ordered at the till, staff were listless uninterested. Food arrived scampi hot, chips barely warm and peas cold, not very appetising. Took it back it was brought back chips were warmer, peas were ok??? However not a sorry or apology of any sort!!! Bearing in mind it was £12.50 + vat not very a good way to get a good review!!

Changed hands recently, and the new management Shona and Richard have really brought this place back to life for locals. The new works outside the pub has put the gardens to better use, more live music regularly, and the new menus are much better with great bar snacks too. On the last Thursday of the month, they host best quiz! Book in advance as tables go fast and it's always packed out! The latest food menu has also brought some great food to the menu, last night we tried it out and the half chicken was fantastic, and the new cheesecake was such a brilliant finish. Some amazing food choices now the franchise has raised the bar on that too. Live bands at least twice a month, some cracking local talent, well worth checking their Facebook page for updates!

A great stay away for a night. Staff so lovely, stayed in The Niddy, fantastic room , quaint , quirky most comfy bed. Breakfast was great, evening meal even better. Beautiful place in a quiet location, opposite a really old grave yard with sheep 🥰 loved it, hope to come back x

Do yourself a favour - think twice before you eat there. I went with a friend. The chips tasted and looked like they had been cooked in oil earlier in the day and re-heated in a microwave so they were soggy and tasteless and not a lot of effort put into presentation on the whole the food was substandard. The furniture wasn't the best. The chairs needed re-padding and given a good clean. The female staff were polite and helpful. Probably the only positive thing about our visit to the café.

It was ok and thought we had found a real gem, however…….very slim pickings on the menu, 2 of the 6 mains were sold out even at 6pm. So thank good for the specials board. The food good can’t fault that, but don’t have the steak if you like it blue as they won’t accommodate it. Staff were a real struggle though a lovely lad in there but the female side was just god awful. Did not make for a warm welcome and consistently reminded us that they needed the table at a certain time, (which believe you me, we knew already) practically ushered us from our seats, to which made us not want another drink in the bar area. Refused to serve my 22 year old daughter alcohol, even though she had a work lanyard to which they snuffed (hey ho their pub 🤷🏼♀️) but not great for her after hard shift on a Saturday!! So no rush at all to go back. Thankfully have found another pub 10 mins away which is just fab!!
