Waited 20 minutes for a simple vegetarian pasty and chips fair enough they were busy. We had to remind them if our order which then turned up as a meat pasty and chips. Disappointing being a vegetarian! Send pasty back and did get a nice veggie one and chips are great. Nice quality food but lack of attention to customers needs this time! Will come back as we do like the cafe but they need to get their ordering system to be more accurate.

Whenever we travel over to Ashford and someone says, "So where shall we eat?" The answer is always, 'Bybrook Barn." A truly wonderful place to share an afternoon with those you love or with friends. I never cease to enjoy both the lovely food on offer and the delightful service and then to go exploring and we always come home with something useful or beautiful. Lots of love guys. We tend to use the restaurant for breakfast when they had 2-1 deals. I do not know if that is still the case, but it would be good value at normal prices. It always seems busy so that must say something!

What a rip off, I popped in for lunch I ordered a ploughmans, it took ages to come, when it finally arrived there was 1 piece of cheddar, 2 slices of ham, 1 tomato cut in half, and a bowl of Apple pieces with half of a roll. For a bargain £7.90 NOT firstly it's nothing like a ploughmans and secondly it's way over priced for what was there. I shall defiantly not be eating here again. Buck your ideas up Longacres.

We went here for breakfast on a Saturday morning because the Harvester across the way had a problem with its cookers and so wasn't serving breakfast. We hadn't been here for years, and weren't expecting much. We were pleasantly surprised. The seating area is spacious with a good mix of tables (we had some very comfortable wicker chairs, which were a delight to sit in). It's nice and bright, too.The cooked breakfast deal, with an egg, a sausage, a rasher of bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, toast and beans for two people for 6.99 (or, rather, it's buy-one-get-one-free for 6.99) was excellent value, coming in (with drinks) at £5 a head overall. Sausage and bacon were of good quality and not too greasy; beans were nice and hot (which is often not the case). Service was good, although I suspect that at busy times they could do with having two tills rather than just one.The only thing which I would say they could do with improving would be the menu boards, which are scattered and slightly disordered, making identifying what's available and choosing what to have a little confusing.Overall, though, we were very pleased with what we found, and hope to come here again soon.

Before going on a nice country coach day trip I decided to start my day out with a breakfast here first. I decided that I would have a bacon sandwich and a cup of coffee. It was 10.15am and not many customers having breakfast, so I thought atleast the sandwich would be quick and easy to do. I paid the assistant and walked away feeling that I'd miss heard the price so when I sat down I checked my receipt and was shocked to find that I had heard correctly. I returned to the assistant and asked her if that was correct and she said yes, to which I said that I thought it was very over priced just for a bacon sandwich at breakfast time. She replied that she didn't set the prices. I acknowledged that but asked her if she would tell whoever did, about my sissatisfaction, and she said she would. When the sandwich came it was two slices of white bread with two rashers of hard bacon on it, with a pile of potato crisps and a side salad. I asked the server why salad and crisps at breakfast time but she was puzzled too. The sandwich was £4.70p! My regular tepid cup of filter coffee was £1.90. The most expensive and worst bacon sandwich I had ever had. I will NOT go back there.

Pleasant little cafe. Popped in here to refuel on a hot chocolate and a breakfast baguette whilst sorting my last bits of Christmas shopping. Baguette was either too big for the bacon slice, sausage and egg that was put inside, or it could have done with just one more rasher. A little on the greasy side for me so think they fry in here rather than grill. Staff were very polite

Recently visited for the first time as we were needing to visit the garden centre.Just a quick run down of the centre - everything laid out very strangely in no logical sense. The Christmas theme also had willy wonka. Bizarre. The cafe clearly hasn't had work done in it in years. Menus on the wall were a sheets of printed paper mounted on coloured card, cutlery was covered in water marks, table menus were greasy and tatty.Staff looked miserable, the guy who bought over the food literally didn't smile once. My food was swimming in water and was tasteless and my plate and bowl had cracks and chips.Other food looked like ready meals.I can not fathom why people would wat here when less than 300 yards away is a harvester.Shane to see independent places like this. If they are ever to attract more than the grey market they need to modernise and excel in customer services

We visited yesterday for the first time in a while as we were passing. What a disappointment!! The place was filthy, food all over the floor, sticky table tops with crumbs on too!! We ordered two sandwiches and again, awful!! Absolutely no taste to the cheese which was ice cold, and way too much pickle which was overwhelming. The bread was your average supermarket (we had both white and wholemeal) and I think the cost of almost £5 was expensive anyway, but the quality of the food made it ridiculous! My tea was served in a very old stainless steel teapot which put more tea on the table than in the cup when poured!! I visited the toilet whilst waiting for the food, and was absolutely disgusted with the state of them, they were shabby and unkempt but more importantly, dirty!!! We've visited Bybrook many times over the years and we found the whole place has deteriorated to the extent that we will not be visiting again and will certainly pass our findings on to friends who I know have visited in the past! However the lady that served us was very friendly and helpful and was doing her best being on her own, but this made service slow!! AWFUL!!!!!

This used to be a reasonable cafe but the service and selection has become somewhat dated. Staff are not particularly friendly, tables were not being cleared promptly so you were sitting surrounded by an untidy mess. Pots of tea came with a tiny container of milk which were so small that I had to ask for more milk twice. Also only grudgingly gave us some hot water in a small container. How much does a bit of hot water cost??? i maintain that tea should always be accompanied by hot water but if it is not it should not be an imposition if you ask for some!!!!!Cakes looked tired and there was limited choice. Two sad sausage rolls on offer.Nothing to eat which took our fancy, so in desperation we decided to eat at the Harvester across the road, but this turned out to be another disappointment.

We went yesterday for breakfast with Santa with our two grandchildren. We were met by a friendly elf who showed where breakfast was. The children were very excited and looking forward to seeing Santa. Whist they were happy with their drink and colouring waiting for Santa and their breakfast, our breakfast had arrived (we had paid separately for this). It was fab! all the usual like bacon! egg! tomatoes! beans, sausage, fried bread or toast, plus a cup of tea or coffee. Buy one get one free so really good value. The kiddies breakfast arrived and they had egg or sausages, beans and waffles. A yoghurt and a drink all included. Santa came and sat at the table and waited and chatted with all of the kids as they were at varying stages of eating their breakfast.Breakfast finished then off for a walk through the lights and grotto which the kids loved. Lots of opportunities for pictures and memories. It finished in santos grotto and with a present . All in all a good value experience, a lovely breakfast and most of all the kids loved it. Well done bybrook barn, the elf who helped us and not forgetting of course, Santa.
