The County Hotel - J D Wetherspoon in Ashford

Just had a midday dinner and it was disgusting! The steak n kidney pudding was crusty... obviously over nuked and the mash had a crust, probably also nuked! You can see the skin on mash in the pic, the pudding felt like I was cutting a PIE it was that bad!

Always a good atmosphere and service. They serve the full menu complete with mixed grill and steaks unlike thier maidstone and Tonbridge branches.

Breakfast was lovely, value for money.

Small portions served up before you even sit down and often cold and not properly cooked. Dinner or breakfast same problem. Obviously partially pre-heated.

Well looked after by the staff and especially Spooney and Kirsty who are the lovely welcoming security on the front door.

Collected curry, so no issues with delivery. Food was hot and fresh ,but Pillou rice didn't taste authentic. Well cooked though. Would use again, but not local. Free orange drink with the order.

Food was good but was so cold had to eat with coat on which spoilt the evening need bit of heating on to make it more enjoyable

Really good clean and organised wetherspoons pub. We attended on New Years eve and the food was perfectly cooked and delivered in quick time especially considering the time of year, drink was cheap and served in good time. All in all a really good meal

Loved it as a teen when I was poor. Now I should probably pay for better food. Worst jacket potato ever. However I love that you always know what you’re getting.

One of my sons brought my 80 year old nephew from London for a 80th birthday trip. My son knows about customer care. He said "This is a well run Spoons". For my part , the staff have been "Ace" for all their efforts and work in giving us a great day. So, a big thank you. DM

Came here for our Christmas party last minute. Absolutely fabulous service!

Absolutely amazing staff! We did a last minute Christmas party of 16 and the kitchen absolutely nailed it! I ordered a Burrito Salad Bowl with chicken and it was great. Just needed a bit more sauce but will definitely recommend it. The brownie with ice cream was also great. Many of us had the Christmas dinner which was quite good. Overall a great party and brilliant hospitality.

Had a great night here with our work Xmas meal . We were booked in another restaurant that let us down and the staff here took our reservation for 20 the day before They were all really friendly and helpful got all the meals out on time and correct Would highly recommend Thanks again

Had time to kill in Ashford while car being serviced. Passed a couple of hours over breakfast and refillable coffee. Very pleasant atmosphere, good breakfast served at a very reasonable price. Will use again and recommend.

I love this place for food and drinks and respectful on Rememberance Sunday, but I had an unfinished drink removed prematurely... Not impressed 😕 Jon "Angel" Ash

Food was good and service was great. Servers very friendly and helpful. Shame the place looks so dingey and run down. Tables seemed to be crammed in, luckily lots of them were unused. Had a panini and soup really good 😊

The food was very tasty, and there was plenty to eat. The lady who served us could have smiled and spoken, but the gentleman who cleared the plates was very polite and happy. Over all the atmosphere was very pleasant

We go every Thursday evening and always look forward to it. We love the curries !

Good location, nice selection of ales at the best prices. Service was quick. House was full packed and security was there to handle any situation.

My happy place! Great tables, warm nice stmoshere efficiant friendly staff, nice normal food at good price. Frequently come here for lunches. It never dissapoints.

It's clean with good food and the service was better than most restaurants who cost 5 times as much. For cheap, good food and good service, I doubt it can be beaten.

I ordered a freedom breakfast (£2.99-bargain!) and accompanying coffee. My order was politely taken and the meal was cooked well and it tasted fine.....no problems at all. Thank you.

Trish, Nikki and Cody & Sam really stand out to us. We are regulars and these lovely staff members are always hard at work and are non stop. Food is always good also. Thanks guys n gals 😘

Always busy, very good ales. New visit and tried the new prawn and fish curry with extra onion bhajis and bombay potato. All was tasty and hot!

Great place for a cheap drink beer is kept well and a good selection to choose from parking is limited for anyone with mobility problems tho

It could do with a good deep clean, and the attitude of the staff could be better, not the best Witherspoons in Kent, but if you want a cheap drink and a snack, it's OK.

Great place. They still have the old Wetherspoon menu. So you can get steak and steak club, curry and curry club. My favourite Simple Chicken Jalfrezi and chips, with pint for £9.15.

Went here with my son his friend my husband and mum and dad They all had the large mixed grill and the steak was awful , very dry chewy and loads of fat they have had it before and have never had any issues , my dads 1st time and his steak was the same, the atmosphere was not the best it was very loud and we felt like we was constantly shouting. I had the 10oz gammon and that was very fatty to the food was not very enjoyable today

We have been here many times and my son, friend always have the mixed grill and they did not enjoy it at all there was a problem with the steak very chewy and dry, my dad came with us on this visit and it was the 1st time he came and even his steak was very chewy and dry, this has never happened before it's a shame, the atmosphere in thetr today was vety loud couldn't talk at all felt like we was constantly shouting, they had the doors open which I understand being a bit warm but a fly came in and landed on my son's dinner and he could finish the rest, I'm very disappointed with today

Always popular, drinks are very reasonably priced, big pub.

It was really busy and when it rained, was packed!! Typical and large Wetherspoons that had a great atmosphere and typical food and drinks values I visit a few spoons and the mocha was one of the best I’ve ever had!! The Katsu curry and steak and kidney pudding with mash was delish!

The food was good and service fast. The pub really needs a renovation though as it’s so dark, dirty and seating areas need repairs.

A quick spot to grab lunch. Food is always good, same no matter where you go. The pub itself was nice and clean. We sat in the booth which was a nice private place to eat. Cheap good food ordered on the app.

Heard on the grapevine spoons now do Ramen, which I just had to try. Not really authentic (I think the red onion would make Japanese people cry) but as always excellent value for money!

Went for breakfast, good choice, good deals, lowest price coffee around, help yourself good choice free drinks. Nice dishes as well as traditional breakfast. Service fast,food well presented. Comfortable seating, nice atmosphere, just people chatting at their tables, not noisy at breakfast time, even though busy. Easy to order on the app. Prices quite good.

A lovely Wethers pub. I was celebrating my daughter's 18th birthday and it was splendid.

Tried the gourmet steak, more like gourmet fat...tasteless and fatty... maybe give this place a miss !

Excellent and cosy town pub in Ashford, of course free of mutts even in the outside seating area. We enjoyed the large fish & chips with a complimentary drink on a Friday. Meals came within a few minutes. Tables were cleaned by attentive staff.

With this restaurant, my friends and I visited to have a quick meal following a birthday party. However, upon arrived and ordering drinks we requested straws via the Wetherspoons App which is common practice. The waitress arrived to the table without so we politely asked if she could bring some to which she abruptly responded "They are at the bar". We responded with "Okay, no worries, thank you". To which, my friend walked up to the bar and overheard the woman talking negatively about us for wanting straws that we requested on the app. It seems the waitress noticed my colleagues face and was embarrassed so she sent her manager to handle delivering the rest of our drinks and meal. In terms of the rest of the service received, we were thoroughly content and grateful to be approached with kindness and consideration from the manager who (btw) is stunning. For the one negative, you get four stars otherwise it would be a five for the standalone service received by the manager.

Shocking Food, I ordered a burger, completely raw and mouldy, workers and staff were rude and not warming at all. Awful, do not go here !

Food lovely, but as per usual the air conditioning is beating cold and everyone in pub wearing their coats, this doesn't give a pleasant eating environment

So discriminatory against age website says under 18 leave at 9 however we got there at 5:30 tried to order and they denied us saying we didn’t have id yet we all did then told us to get Adult supervision then we did and they still refused and some lady then shouted at us horrible service and people!!!

Went for a meal out with my friends and we were all treated horribly by staff, refused to serve us FOOD and NON-ALCOHOLIC drinks because we weren’t with an adult or 18 at 5:30 yet their website states that we can eat and drink there until 9pm, then was shouted at by a member of staff

Cheap, cheerful, always busy, but in a good way

Large area of fruit machines dominate the bar area, even for a wetherspoons this feels lifeless. The table are at the back is laid out in straight rows but feels uncomfortable and not like a restaurant, even for a weathespoons this is bad, one of the worst I've been in. I went about 6pm on a Monday

Curry club Thursday: really busy it was quite difficult to find a table. Prices are higher on the app that advertised on the table. Food is still ok, but no longer such a great deal as it used to be. Staff are helpful and friendly but service is quite slow.

I've been here several times now. Food and drink are always good. Staff are great as well.
