We really enjoyed our first visit here. The food was great and the staff were very welcoming and attentive. Key lime cheesecake was delicious and the decor was well themed. We will definitely be back.

Wife and I had scampi and chips. Portions were small and the chips seemed like they had been cooked more than once. The peas were as hard as musket balls, no idea how they could be like that. Our friend had a chicken cesar salad, the chicken was like leather, and she refused to eat it. My friend said his pizza was like something from a supermarket freezer. On the plus side, the staff seemed friendly enough. But the food let the pub down, where’s Gordon Ramsey when you need him?

Dropped in as it was lunchtime and a group of ramblers were en route to the pub - usually a good sign. Had an interesting meal of pulled meat fries and tacos. All arrived fairly quickly and the staff were excel.

Nicely refurbished since we last visited and the staff were cheerful but unfortunately this was the only positive I can offer. The menu was limited and once our food order went in so our patience endurance test began. When our starters arrived the nachos had clearly been prepared in advance, best guess last week! Then the long wait till we were served the mains, so long I needed to get my roots done where my hair colour had grown out. Plus side was the dog was offered a biscuit which was served almost immediately!!! So to recap - staff charming, service slower than a slow thing, food mediocre, dog biscuits excellent 👌

Honestly, do not waste your time or money visiting this place. We went there for Sunday lunch. Arrived in good time and were taken to our table. The place did not seem very busy at all for Sunday at 2.00pm, but didn't think anything of it at the time. Drinks ordered and sorted, food ordered..... starters and mains for all. Over an hour later and we still had not got our starters so we chased this up, and strangely they all arrived straight away. It was almost as if they'd just been left on a table in the kitchen somewhere and forgotten about. And when we tasted them, I reckon we were right. We only had the Cheesy Nachos to share, so you couldn't get that wrong eh? Well, it was like the cheese had been chucked on and heated up at the start of the shift, in the hope that some lucky souls would order them, then chuck on some salsa and guacamole and Bob's your uncle, not very pleasant at all. Also, we ordered Macaroni cheese to come with the mains, which arrived with the starters so had to be sent away. Plates cleared and then we waited for our mains, which again, turned into a long, long wait. How was this possible when there was hardly anyone there and loads of staff hanging around. Again, we waited near on an hour for our food and not until we asked where it was, did it turn up, again, straight away??? Mine was a 'Modded' Burger, have not a clue what modded meant, but it was served in a black bun, which just made the whole burger look very unappetising. Why do they do that - was it to just try and be cool. It did not work. Oh, and thanks very much for my nearly cold fries that came with it, and the couple of bits of tired rocket. Everyone's meals were pretty much the same, either a total lack of effort, or luke warm. My wife's Pepperoni pizza was entered into a Spot The Pepperoni competition and lost! I would not go back here again, and considering the other two reviews, it's really pot luck as to whether you get the good, bad or the ugly experience

I had roast beef. The whole meal tasted of salt. The potatoes and Yorkshire pudding were hard and cold. I did mention to staff to tell the chef for future reference. The latte I had was the best I have ever tasted, but I would not eat there again.

The six of us, and a dog, dropped in unannounced and were very well received. The staff were very responsive from a special meal request from my grand daughter and when they brought out the fish chowder well WOW!!

Very disappointed. My wife and I decided to go to The White Lion Hotel in Tenterden for lunch, as we had such a good meal the last time we went when it was owned by the Jarvis chain. It must have been
