Popped in Kendal while on route to the Lake District by local recommendation. As we wanted a dog friendly venue. food was amazing staff very polite and attentive. Great atmosphere. Allergy compliant as one of the party had an egg allergy and the other was gluten intolerant both had great food and the staff was very aware of allergy requirements. Water bowl supplied for our dogs as well. Very good menus for vegetarians and people with allergy’s.

Food was homemade style, stunning views, nice down to earth atmosphere, the only downside was some of the staff, not knowing the soup of the day or pie of the day, and sticky tables and on the toilet door, also the young lad behind the bar ignored you at the bar.

Lovely, friendly and attentive staff at The Black Bull. Such a gorgeous setting and really tastefully decorated. The food and drink did not disappoint, just a shame we didn’t have more time to spend soaking up the ambience. Despite being quite a distance to us we would certainly like to return, well worth the journey.

Lunchtime for two We treated ourselves to the sirloin sharer for two , which was served medium rare, sliced and served with carrots, potato wedges and gravy As it takes 45 minutes to prepare, we shared Focaccia bread and olives Plus a few soft drinks, this was in total fifty quid each. Bear in mind the usual lunchtime menu is twenty five and the sharer has a fifteen quid extra. I left full and wanting to try more Located in the heart of Didsbury Village in a charming converted building that retains a lot of its original features, set across a few rooms, with a kitchen in the back. I like the calm atmosphere and the very attentive wait staff. The adjacent car park is very conveniently located

Went for a last minute lunch with a friend! The tables are so close together which I don’t really like but it’s a very small space so I get they want to fit as many in as they can. I had a San Pellegrino and my friend loves their hot chocolate so she got one of those. For lunch we had a club sandwich and a crispy duck wrap, both came with fries and a little salad. They were really nice, decent portion sizes and we both really enjoyed. I think it was around the £14 mark each for lunch and a drink, I thought that was quite expensive but the food is really good. Will definitely return soon!

This place is located in the going out area or student area. Really nice interior. Very welcoming. We went for brunch on a Sunday. Check the menu in advance to make sure there are choices that work for you. Brunch on Sunday is only served until midday. Service was really good, food quality was just great. On value for money, we would suggest you look in advance. Two breakfast dishes each and two loads of tea each was close to £60. Food price inflation has indeed hit English restaurants very hard indeed .

People had suggested that I go and try the Peppermill out - so I did. I've never been inside before and was surprised at how nice it is, with a warm, comfortable vibe going on. Loads of people chatting away, friendly staff and feels welcoming. I ordered chicken curry with half and half chips and rice which came with a small naan and a dish of mango chutney. The chicken was really succulent and the sauce tasty - hot but not enough to blow your head off. The combination of everything was really good and a generous portion too. I will definitely go in there again.

A group of us had called in here almost exactly a year before and had a great time just having a beer and watching the scenery. This time we had organised and in informal bowling competition and this venue was perfect for it. We got there early on a Saturday morning so had coffee and breakfast which was top quality and good value. I must make a point about how good the Service is here And we were looked after in a quick and friendly manner. I am a bowling novice but still had an absolutely wonderful time. At Points it was difficult to concentrate on the game as the scenery is so spectacular and other people I know are now going to visit as a result of a video I showed them. the green is extremely well kept and was challenging for me but still fabulous fun. The owners of the club had a chat with us and it is obvious they really care about you having a great time and have very thoughtful about their business indeed. A return visit won't be long off that's for sure.
