The best restaurants serving British food in Pendle North West

We made a relatively last minute decision to have dinner on Christmas Day at The Spinning Mill, on arrival, we were greeted by the very friendly staff, and shown to our table, we had pre booked our meals a couple of weeks beforehand, my wife had the prawn cocktail for a starter & I had opted for the soup, unfortunately I didn’t get a roll with my soup which I presume was an oversight, for our mains my wife had turkey, and I opted for the roast beef, both meals were very good, and the portions were ample, we finished off with cheesecake, and sticky toffee pudding, all in all an excellent meal, served up by very friendly staff. This was our second visit in a few weeks as we had a bar snack on the day we went to pay our deposit for the Christmas meal, again, both our meals were excellent. We wouldn’t hesitate to eat there again.

Had the Fishermans lunch cannot praise it enough delicious and very generous in size The staff were very attentive and courteous Altogether a lovely lunch I hope to repeat in the near future

Excellent hosts and a lovely friendly atmosphere. We always get a lovely welcome here! The White Lion is a very old traditional inn, that has been modernised but still retains its charm. We last visited on a Sunday evening and enjoyed a live acoustic music event which is held there each month. The pub provided supper for the musicians, which on this occasion was delicious pizzas. We found the hosts to be welcoming, friendly and generous. Would highly recommend.

The price has gone up and size of the meals gone down. Will be now going to Philips lane chippy instead as it's better value.

Only one member of staff serving in the bar. Food average, found the lentil shepherd pie tasteless and expensive. Disappointed. Nice setting though.

Interesting and mixed feedback. Service can be slow buts it’s a self service cafe. Marie does however make the best coffee in Pendle so congrats Marie

Went up to do a little retail therapy and to sort out an issue we had with our Tripp suitcases. Spoke to Kelly who was very helpful, polite and the problem was resolved to our complete satisfaction . So big thank you to Kelly , Boundary Mill, Colne and Tripp . Great after care service !
