Decided to have lunch after we had finished shopping, we were seated straight away then we waited and waited to be served, they were not particularly busy, we eventually attracted someone’s attention and the took our order, decided on the small fish & chips and the fish platter. It took ages to turn up and was surprised how small the portion of fish was I have seen bigger fish fingers, a child’s portion would have been bigger. The seafood platter was really expensive for you got, neither of the meals were particularly filling either. Service poor, food mediocre, price expensive would not particularly recommend this restaurant.

Visited today 1st August, first day of 70% off sale! Ordered our usual breakfast of a Bannister breakfast plus a light breakfast and two drinks. Each breakfast comes with 2 slices of toast plus jam and marmalade. I always have brown toast with the crusts cut off as due to having had a stroke I cannot swallow crusts easily. Another lady brought out our breakfast and immediately said "I thought this was for you but the breakfast isn't what you usually have. I think it is the wrong one! The breakfast had meat on which I do not eat! I found out the lady was called Kelly. I was so impressed that: (a) Kelly noticed the crusts had been cut off and thought about who usually ordered that that even though she had not seen us today!! (b) Kelly then though that the breakfast being sent out was wrong! (c) I was very impressed that in such a busy restaurant Kelly remembered my order. Even when Kelly had not taken the order herself! Excellent customer service, which made my day! I informed the duty manager Darren about Kelly's impressive service. I think Kelly is amazing aside from today's service Kelly is always pleasant and smiling. I hope the management know what a wonderful asset Kelly is. The breakfasts are always good and offer excellent value for money. £10.25 for the full breakfast which includes your toast and tea or coffee. The light breakfast isn't explicit on the menu but you can have four items of your choice which again includes your toast plus drink for £7.25 Compare the price with other places, we have ! Always hot and well presented. We cannot fault the breakfast. We travel from Bolton just for breakfast on many occasions! Kelly is amazing but all the other staff are also pleasant! We dined in the main Restaurant which has certainly gone downhill in all areas. We had small fish/chips & mushy peas. Peas Luke warm. The fatty fish had been placed on top of the chips thereby causing the chips to b very fatty & hardly edible. I did complain but just got an apology which at those prices isn't enough. I certainly won't be rushing back.

Absolutely awfully chicken tandoori salad, meat was tough in fact it was lamb not chicken, salad drenched in some kind of vinegar dressing which was very bitter, I have had this meal previously and was very nice, may have new chefs but at £13.50 an absolute waste of money, did let them know on payment as they asked, we got a ‘sorry about that’ and nothing else. Bye bannisters never again

Cheese and onion pie looked very unappetising as though it had been defrosted and microwaved. Had a very strange consistency and taste. Many of the chips were just scraps which were too hard to eat. My husband's Fleetwood platter was definitely lacking some crisps or chips. Service was good and the restaurant is very clean but the food was not good and we will not return.

Shocking appearing to be quality.. 2 sides to cafe no drinks list available..no on view menu..hot Pies without a list of ingredients or what is in the pies..zombie staff to the left..NO VEGAN HOT DRINKS..wanted to crumpets NO MARGARINE only butter cakes at knee height by trays not covered..

Disappointing - not the best Afternoon tea I've had, missing macaron from one of 3 platters after asking 2 staff, after 15 minutes we were told there where no more macarons available, offered a replacement - were given a small slice of sticky toffee pudding (Afternoon tea served from 3pm and we were there at 2.55pm), extra charge for decaf tea (which isn't highlighted on the menu). No offer to have the leftover cakes boxed up so we had to get creative with napkins

Our experience is only rated 2 because the food is pretty good and the restaurant is very clean. The younger staff, however, clearly require better customer service training. They are probably not paid well, but should therefore be trained and managed better. If you are one of very few occupied tables in Bannisters, don’t then expect to receive an attentive service level. You can expect to be offered a desert menu (after some time of waiting for the main course plates to be be cleared). You can then expect to be abandoned for a ridiculous amount of time while the staff disappear to chat with each other on a table out of sight. Don’t expect to be provided with a paper napkin to accompany your dessert. You can expect for all of the dessert cutlery to be given to one customer who will then have to distribute it to the other guests…while wondering why they are still accompanied by dirty cups and glasses. Don’t expect that ‘dead’ glasses, coffee and tea cups will be removed, even though plates are cleared. Used, ‘dead’ glasses and cups will remain with you following the main course, even though the worst cafe in the marketplace would be trained to remove these as part of the process. You can expect to be asked if ‘everything is all right’ when you get so frustrated at the lack of timely service that you go off to find someone. Don’t expect that they will have yet receive sufficient training to acknowledge the customer’s expressed frustration. To be honest, it’s not a huge surprise that the place was dead… not if customers are treated with this level of disinterest in their presence. Post COVID and in the present financial crisis, ‘footfall’ and returning customers are important for the survival of most businesses. Perhaps Bannisters survives without the concern to delight and encourage another visit…

There didn't seem to be enough staff, waited to be seated by Connor. Didn't seem very busy with people eating. Waited 15mins for the waitress to take our order of chicken Sunday lunch. Plates were very hot, but the food not so. The chicken came with bone intact and skin on. NOT A GOOD IDEA. Overly large Yorkshire puddings. Too much messing trying to eat the chicken, which unfortunately was quite dry, so we left half of the meal. Went to pay and commented on our meal, Connor said he didn't understand as most people have enjoyed their meals - he didn't say which meals? Wouldn't go again, and wouldn't recommend either.

Cold, dull, slow service, uninspiring food. Fleetwood lunch consists of the smallest fork fulls of various cold fish and a small pile of tasteless defrosted frozen prawns. Don’t order dessert unless you’re willing to sit and wait for the rest of the afternoon!

Not sure what is happening with the Management now, as this used to be a lovely restaurant. We visited today and the service was awful. It’s Sunday, it was 12.30 and there was no Sunday lunch available. We got tea with no milk and no checking of the food was ok. Then we waited for ever after we had eaten for the table clearing and to see if we wanted dessert. Then icecream took 20mins to arrive.. Shocking service. All down to Management. What a shame. We won’t be back.

Restaurant is pleasant. Food can’t be fresh as it’s instant! Service is not great. I had prawns. No taste at all. Like water. Trying to be grand m, but failing miserably.

The food was lovely but the service appalling. We were disappointed though it was the Saturday of the sale. Nevertheless it was 20 minutes before we got a menu, then further time before our order was taken. Further time till we got our food. e had been given our drinks more quickly so ate our meal with no drinks. About 60 minutes from being seated to getting the first course. Then a further ait for the pudding menu. A further wait again for the sweets and coffees. The puds arrived with no spoons. We ere told there were no tea spoons though they were supplied eventually. To save a further wait we asked for the bill when we ordered our puddings! Surely they know they ill be busy at sale times (10% discount on the food) and while the food was great it was let down by poor service

I am disappointed to say the least. We got seated fairly quickly but 50 minutes later they still hadn't taken our order by which time husband had totally lost patience, we left!

Waited in a queue for 15 mins, we were taken to a table with a menu, waited 15 mins, no service, asked a staff member if they could take our order, she was just placing tables. No contact after 25 mins and left disappointed. Along with 2 other customers. No manager to be seen. Not good enough.

Ordered the small fish and chips. Meal arrived it was just warm the chips were hard I think they had been reheated and the fish was bland to say the least. I did send it back and didn't have to pay. Not great and I definitely wouldn't return.

We waited 30 minutes or more from ordering despite telling 3 waitresses one occasion told it would be 5 minutes then 2 minutes but took more than half an hour for 3 lots of fish and chips. When our meals arrived the fish was under cooked and chips over cooked. Will not be returning for a meal here again.

Probably the slowest service I’ve ever had in restaurant. Disorganized, food bland (salmon pasta and green vegetables) and certainly not worth the wait. Restaurant to avoid.

Went for breakfast .We had , what was described, as the large breakfast.Standard was only "ok".Tea and toast alright but portions were stingy.One fried egg, one piece of bacon ( basically half a rasher), very small sausage, tinned mushrooms.If that's their attempt at cost effectiveness I would rather have paid more or being offered chance to add more items. Overall "nothing to write home about".

Visited today and, as usual, went to have lunch in Bannisters, which we have previously enjoyed. Seated at 12.00 and order eventually taken 20 mins later. Waited a further 25 mins for food to arrive. The chips were cold and hard. Whilst paying the bill I complained about the long wait and the cold food and they apologised and admitted they were short staffed. It shows.

On line with recent posts our experience at Bannisters recently was extremely disappointing. Long wait to be seated then half-hearted tables vacant but with dirty plates etc still there. Another wait fir order to be taken and after a 40.minute wait for food to arrive my chicjen was overcooked and dry chips lukewarm, the cheese and onion pie was minimal size. All the food looked like it had been kept under hot lamps waiting to be served ,,(apart from the chips) I eventually got ghe attention of a waitress and told her about the chicken and reordered a prawn cocktail as I felt they couldn't go wrong with that. Waited some 15 mins more and prawn cocktail OK but again chips lukewarm. After waiting anothe 20.mins for a waitress to come back to ask if we wanted anything else decided to leave. The girl on the paydesk was very apologetic but no refund offered. Come on Bannisters get your service and food sorted out or you will have many more customers like us who will nor be coming again after many years of giving you our custom

After waiting some 20 Minutes to be shown to. Seat in the Restaurant after another 15 minutes before enquiring if someone would take m order and then some 40 minutes later I received my meal. The couple on the next table had waited a similar amount of time and complained that when served the Chips were only just warm. Throughout the experience no one seemed to take charge of the situation and the staff just were totally inefficient and one of the refered to me as my lovely, not terribly professional to a gentleman of 93 years of age I would say they need to employ a Manager who can get to grips with the staff and sort it all out rather than it was like something from faulty towers

I visited for lunch today. This is the second time I’ve been of late, and I was hoping today would be an improvement but it was even worse than the last time. We had to wait to be seated whilst the restaurant supervisor informed us that she was on her own and had to take other people’s orders first, that she was pregnant and couldn’t overdo it. We then saw 6-7 other people who looked more than capable of seating us or taking orders?! Once this young lady sat us at a dirty table ( next to a perfectly clean table!) she then went off to get a cloth and some spray to clean it up. By which time I’d seated us and looked at the menu she left on the side. We waited nearly 5 minutes for her to chat to someone else and then proceed to “clean” our table, offering us new cutlery when the ones on our table were absolutely fine! She then went on to put the ‘dirty’ cutlery on the clean table next to us & then left it there for someone else to move! She returned to take our order. We waited nearly 20 minutes (unusually) for another young lady to come and ask what we’d ordered. She then asked us why we’d moved tables. We explained that we hadn’t! And she then went on to tell us our order had been programmed to the wrong table number and they’d been walking looking for us to serve it to. She then brought out the cold food and no drinks. When I chased up the drinks she said they were making them! The drinks were then brought out with the water being sparkling and not still, like I ordered and one of the lattes was spilled all over the plate. I had to go to the til to find someone to change the water. The food was less than acceptable. Despite knowing the cock up they had made of us, they went on to charge me full price. Appalling. I am a regular shopper at Boundary Mill but will never visit this restaurant again. It used to be so lovely but it has really gone downhill. The prices too are not value for money. Avoid!

Nice ambience in the place but oh dear about the sandwiches. Have been many times before but will probably not have a sandwich again.

With fish that melted in one's mouth and mushy peas proper this meal was scrumptious! Chips were few but saying that the fish was the star of the show ! The batter was beautifully light and tasty too. Lovely staff with a superb pot of tea ! Perfect for cold Lancashire day !

There was queue to go in, but we were seated quite quickly with a pleasant welcome. You take a menu in with you, which speeds up the ordering process. Our meals were delivered about 10 minutes after ordering.I had the Woodlands Chicken. Very tasty and the food and plates were hot. My wife had the steak which was perfectly cooked.The experience exceeded our expectations and for the quality of service and food, it was very good value. We'll definitely return.

Its not often that you go to a big indoor shopping centre and end up having an in-house five star meal. This is what happened to my wife and I this week when we visited Boundary Mill in Colne.The in-house venue was called Bannister's Restaurant on the ground floor. The menu was varied and would grace any first class restaurant. The food itself (especially the Fleetwood Fisherman's Lunch) was of the same high standard. Although its a 150 mile round trip for us, we intend going back next week for breakfast and its Eggs Royal (like Eggs Benedict but with smoked salmon instead of ham) and American Pancakes served with maple syrup, mixed berry compote and crème fraiche. I'm also toying with the idea to linger long enough for an afternoon tea which sounds equally delicious. I'll never mind going shopping with my wife at this venue ever again!

Went to Boundary Mill,and started day with breakfast..Having eaten there before, didn't hesitate to go again.Not much choice on breakfast menu..opted for the traditional breakfast at £6.99,and chose 'potato rosti' to go with it ..which was not what I got..a hash brown, frozen turned up.I personally would not call a has brown potato rosti.Cold, anemic and soggy toast..warmed up,dried bacon..Dont think we will be going to eat again.

We went to Boundary Mill at Colne to do some necessary wedding shopping. A couple of hours later we were exhausted and hungry so decided to eat at Bannisters. Oh my!!!! What a treat!!! Hubby had the steak (he always does!!) and I went fir the Woodland chicken - to say it was excellent is an understatement - chicken set on a bed of black pudding mash with tender stem broccoli, mushrooms and stuffing. I have been to other up market restaurants, paid a lot more and their quality does not match up to Bannisters. Well done guys, all in all a brilliant lunch experience, we will be back.

Stopped for lunch after doing some shopping. The restaurant itself wasn't too crowded and it was easy to get a seat and enjoy our sandwiches, which were reasonably priced.

Called in for lunch whilst shopping. A lovely menu in general (I'll explain shortly)My friend and I decided to treat ourselves to a Pimms; why not? We both had the fish platter which was really lovely. Fresh and tasty, well presented.Although we were not having dessert, we changed our minds and I'm glad we did.The reason I mentioned the menu was that my friend is coeliac and there was very little for her. However, they did accommodate as best they could and were helpful.My dessert was delicious, restaurant quality!I'd recommend trying here as it was really worth the visit.

We have been eating here for many years when visiting the store. Whilst the food was fine it left both my wife and myself slightly disappointed. The menu is not as big as previously and i may be wrong but the actual restaurant furnishing looked different. I had the cheese pie but did find it a little bland and my wife's fish finger sandwich was ok .

Really nice place for a lunch while at Boundary Mill stores. I enjoyed the Chicken Tikka salad which was tasty, generous with the chicken. Other party members tried the mushrooms on toast which were also ideal for a nice lunch. Staff were friendly and attentive.

Staff are brilliant but they were understaffed and there was a waiting time. The fish is small and thin, so must admit I have had better.

We went here for a meal during our visit to Boundary Mill and were extremely impressed with the quality of the food. As a vegetarian, I was delighted with my roast vegetables on couscous. It was delicious. Overall, it was an extremely enjoyable and relaxing experience.

First visit, very impressed! Party of 3, we all had the special. This consisted of a generous portion of plump, lightly battered, sweet chilli chicken goujons with a mixed salad, french fries and mayo. Delicious! As we haven’t been out in what seems like forever we all squeezed in a dessert! Two had brownies with toffee sauce and honeycomb ice cream, one chose the strawberry shortcake. So good! Service was flawless, attentive and accommodating, friendly and professional. We really enjoyed our first visit snd we’ll be back!

Went on a wednesday afternoon 26th May and the restaurant was quiet so mid week is a good time to go. Cant rate the food, staff, cleanliness and covid safe measures enough. Totally worth the price tag. Really lovely friendly and professional staff and top draw food, especially the desert which was also a generous portion. I felt very safe with the stringent covid measure and wiping down after each visitor leaves.

Were really spoilt. 3 level thing with sandwiches gorgeous mousses and things like that and then luxurious meringues creations. With a nice pot of tea. Friendly service. No rush or hurry. Just like the good old days!

We always eat here when visiting Boundary Mill and we have never had a bad meal. My wife had a chicken tikka salad and I had a very good burger with melted feta cheese, salad and chunky chips. Very tasty.

Three of us ate here for lunch after a morning of shopping. The meals, service, clean atmosphere and position was a bonus. probably on the pricey side, but after all I am in the UK.

I have just been to Bannys take away at Colne and after watching 6 people get served who came in after me they then gave me the wrong order and when I asked them about it the young lady tried to say it was my fault and what I had ordered which it wasn’t. Could have easily been solved and rectified but that wasn’t ever an option offered. What a joke and I will never go there again service is terrible, shame as it was supposed to be a treat.

We have visited twice this weekend for breakfast. Saturday was very busy but Sunday was a little less so. Despite being busy we were quickly shown to our table. Husband always has the full breakfast. If you want to make up your own breakdast you can order four items plus toast. I always have this option. The food is always good quality. Butter, jam and marmalde in small pots on the table. You can request more if you run out.Service is always good. Never eaten anything but breakfast here so cannot comment on other meals although I am surprised at some of the negative comments I have seen. We love the breakfasts here. Breakfast is served until 11.30a.m.

We used to use this restaurant when it was up on the 1st floor. Always a queue for a table, but worth the wait, and the food/service was excellent.We'd been using Banny's fish n chip place over the last couple of years, but that's gone down the pan, so we thought we;d go back to try this new place.We all had different, and all thought it was poor. I had the "gourmet burger", it was anything but. With a small pot of dried up coleslaw, about 8 anaemic, tasteless and hard chunky chips, it was pretty third rate. My wife had the ham (gammon), egg and chips. Chips were the same as mine, gammon acceptable, peas like bullets. Daughter had the chickpea, spinach and sweet potato curry - very small portion of rice and tasteless. She said her friend makes far better. £40 for 3rd rate food.Such a shame as the restaurant is beautifully laid out, smart and bright. But hardly anyone in it! We thought that the menu was pretty lightweight before we went in, but never thought that it would be so poor.What with the results now at Banny's and this restaurant, something has changed, and seriously for the worse. Won't be back to either. The cafe is passable though for a sandwich and a coffee.

We had very poor meals in the restaurant they were not hot enough and the roast potatoes with the roast of the day were awful as was the very hard Yorkshire pudding . This is second time the meal has not really been good enough so will not go again

disgusting fish,chips and peas,we went here on the 19/02/2020,table no 21,the cooked fish was slimy and taste less,the 7 chips on the plate were hard the peas were ok,£26 for the most disgusting fish we have ever eaten,we will never go here again,blackpool is much better fish and chips and cheaper

we visited this place on the 19/02/2020,had the fish, chips and peas,disgusting fish, slimy and taste less,7 chips on the plate and they where hard but the little tub of peas was nice,cost £26 to eat rubbish,we have had better in blackpool,we will never go to this place again,and you should save your money and not bother,disgusting

My friend was treating me to birthday lunch,the ploughmans was the worst ever half small pie half plate of lettuce spoonful of small pickles and a mousetrap piece of tasteless cheese.The worst bit was the dry,cheap,chilled bread roll.We kept trying to catch someones eye but no one came over. We told the waitress how disappoint ed we were the response was o sorry about that,we told cashier same thing same response. We went Whiteside coffee shop for coffee and cake.Which was very good. Shame as this was to be a treat. Never again.

Met up with our daughter today she travels from Yorkshire we come from Blackburn so it’s almost like a halfway house. Our lunch today wasn’t up to it’s usual standard! My husband and I ordered the mushrooms on toast our daughter ordered the salmon on risotto which arrived within 5 minutes as did our drinks! Unfortunately everything was just about warm the only thing hot was my decaf tea. My husband asked for a refill coffee as it was nearly cold , she apologised and brought another! Unfortunately on leaving and paying our bill we noticed she had charged us for both coffees as she said he had drunk the first one! We felt this was unacceptable and should have complained about the temperature our meals , but we did not ! She did finely refund the money for the refill coffee but we left feeling that we would not return but try somewhere else to dine next time we visited Boundary Mill.

I had rigotone with beef ragout which was delicious- the rigatoni was cooked in a tomato based sauce and the beef was cooked perfectly and just fell apart. My partner had fish and chips which he said was also delicious. Both dishes were well presented and the service was excellent. Always a treat to visit Boundary Mill and have such a good restaurant to lunch in.

When the 4 of us arrived there was a queue to get into the restaurant but it was well organised and the queue went done very quickly.

Called at Bannisters for evening meal after a quick shopping trip to Boundary Mill in Colne.Had not been here for about two years and was happy to find the service and quality of food had remained the same if not better than last visit.

A day out with friends at Boundry Mill, we ate lunch here. A warm welcolme we were shown to a table & the waitress almost immediately came to take our order. We ordered two burgers with chips ,coleslaw & a tomato chutney, & two three cheese toasties with chutney & side salad. With pots of tea for four . Food was delivered fairly quickly. The toasties were tasteful if rather cool, the burgers went down ok . It was busy but only 4 stars because of the heat of the food.

We called at Bannister's Restaurant on Tuesday 5th November, 2019., whilst visiting Boundary Mill in Colne. The Restaurant is tastefully decorated with plush furniture. Our meal was well presented and delicious. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. Despite some adverse reviews would certainly recommend a visit if you come to Boundary Mill.

We travelled 90 miles to Colne and wanted an early lunch. The restaurant serves lunch from 11.30 am so we had coffee then ordered. We waited a little time but the food was satisfactory.

My wife and I visited yesterday. This was the second time and like the first we were not disappointed the food and service excellent.wasexcellexcellent.

Out of our 4 mains - 2 good (fisherman’s platters), 1 okay (salmon salad), 1 disappointing (burger). Service was quick, professional, & friendly. Nicely sized pots of tea served in nice cups. Nice environment if a bit noisy. Reasonably priced for what you get.

Sunday lunch time visit, ordered fish and chips X2 and lamb dinner, the fish batter was oily like it had been refried, the chips were hard and dry like they had been left under a heat lamp, the lamb was very fatty and only got 2 very small new potatoes and 3 dried and hard roast potatoes. Very disappointed considering bannys chippy is excellent

My mother and my friend and I go to Boundry mill once a month and always go to Bannisters restaurant the last few times we have been since they changed the menu it hasn't been great but yesterday the food was just horrible I had the minute steak which was like trying to eat a piece of leather not cooked for a minute more like ten and the chips tasted like they were the days before and refried hard and horrible. My Mother had the Ham and eggs her chips were the same and the Ham was very dry hand the eggs hard My frient had the smoked haddock and bubble and squeak the fish was fine but the bubble and squeak was very dry and hard and tasted horrible normally some one would come to the table and ask if everything was ok but yesterday nobody came near probably because they knew they were serving horrible food . When we went to pay I would normally not say anything but the two ladies at the cash desk were talking between themselves for what felt like ages then they walked off into the kitchen leaving us stood there when they both came back they just carried on talking between themselves so I said do you know your service is as bad as your food one of the ladies just said sorry you feel that way did not bother to ask what was wrong with our meals. Boundry mill has now lost three regular customers who on average spend between £300 to £400 pounds a month there eg yeterday My friend spent £230 my Mother £190 and I spent £ 110 we all usully do most of our chritmas shopping there but not this year

I have just got back from bannisters restaurant . The meal was lovely but the service was exceptional. Lisa and another waitress helped us choose our meal. Very friendly and attentive.

We tried this place for the first time recently. First impressions were that the restaurant is nicely decorated. Second impression was that the staff weren’t very friendly or welcoming. We overheard an elderly couple say that they couldn’t finish their cream teas and could it be boxed up? The waitress just said, in an off hand way, “well, we’ve only got tin foil!” She wasn’t that friendly towards us either and we were never asked if everything was ok.

Love the breakfast ,it's always hot and appetising, staff always friendly , the restaurant is beautiful.

Went for a runout on a bad weather day, decided on lunch, simple salad, and I had gammon and egg, basic stuff, done well, but the 3 stars is because this place is aWI-FI dead spot, my wife recieved a phone call from her doctors, and could not get a signal! In this day and age, this is SO wrong, Till it’s sorted, we won’t be back,

My friend and I decided to visit Boundary Mill for a day's shopping. We arrived mid morning and had a good walk around the store and decided what purchases we would make before going for lunch at Bannisters Restaurant for lunch. It is a long time since I visited Boundary Mill and it has been refurbished and all the areas looked really great especially Bannisters, decor is really nice and the photographs of glamourous ladies are lovely. However, we both went for the same meal, the breaded lemon chicken on crushed potatoes and a medley of vegetables and it was very good, we both enoyed it very much. The staff were welcoming and pleasant. We will definately dine again in Bannisters when we next visit.

Well beautiful place very posh, you get seated then they take your order we had three cheese and red onion pie chips and mushy peas couldnt see were the red onion was .or it would of been if it hadent been sitting somewhere under lights all day it was so dry and they knew because they give you gravy with it , at nearly £10 I'd go to local pub and have lunch there might be a bit fresher sorry but was really looking forward to this day out and it was so disappointing
