Have been a few times and its always lovely food and good service. The last time we went was for Father's Day. It was a last minute booking and they were able to accommodate us. Had a roast lamb dinner which was a good portion and well cooked. Look forward to going again.

Georgia was lovely and made our visit with 2 little girls very enjoyable :) food was great too!

Visited Christmas Eve late afternoon for my wifes birthday with family. Evening started off well with service and great food but after dinner was served the experience went downhill, had to grab staff attention to order a second round of drinks, these did not appear until I had to get up and speak to remind the said staff member by which time we had finished our main course. No one came again to the table and we gave up staying for a desert. Had to get up again to ask staff for bill and then again gave up waiting to pay and went and paid at bar. Service totally lacking at this point of the evening at only 7pm and only two or three other tables which was a real shame as we enjoyed the food, staff busy setting up the rest of the tables for following day.

Works party last night . Oh what a night , definitely going back , band was amazing ,dj had us dancing, staff were amazing considering mad friday , wish I was there tonight

Stayed here over the weekend while visiting family for Christmas. The room was cozy, comfortable and exactly what we needed after a 3hr drive over from Birmingham. The staff were extremely helpful upon arrival and couldn’t have been anymore welcoming for myself and the wife. We had drinks at the bar then sat down for some amazing and what felt like welcoming, home cooked food. We bumped into what I can only presume was the manager who was a friendly, pleasant and chatty guy and made us feel like we were at home. Not to mention all the other staff too who also made us feel very welcome! - safe to say when visiting family next year we’ll definitely be back!!

I visited the alma with my daughter just as a little get away and honestly I could not have had a better time in a better place if I tried! The staff were amazing, made me feel so welcome and the food was just fantastic! I will definitely be returning!

We stayed on a Sunday Special Deal with Upgaded room. Dinner, Bed and Breakfast. Staff were very friendly. David was splendid. Drinks and food were excellent. Room was superb. We will be returning very soon in the new year. Also had a few drinks 🍸 with some of the locals. Very friendly people.

Gorgeous food, great service and beautiful location

Beautiful spot, my 1st time here for my friends birthday. Crab pate starter was lovely beef bourginion very dissapointing for the price. There were 17 of us so all meals preordered, service not good, most diners were halfway through before others were served, even with desserts when not everyone had one. My meal was 33.00 for 2 courses incl service charge & 9.10 per glass of wine. Expensive night & service not the best.

Really gone downhill since the last time we stayed a year ago. This time went for 2 nights. Special offers were sent via email from HQ, which no one seemed to know about. Service was lacking in offering condiments for the meals and the meals themselves appeared to be blasted pre frozen packages. Very little sign of a chefs input and to be honest most pub food nowadays is better so really disappointed. I doubt we'll be going back.

Booked a table for 5. On arrival greeted by a pleasant person who showed us to our table. On booking I did ask for a quiet corner if possible as some of us have noise issues. We did get seated right under a speaker! I suppose that was my fault for not asking to move tables. However, we did ask for the music to be turned down and this was done. Thank you. Food arrived after quite a long wait and one meal was missing. This was rectified and arrived about 10 minutes later but was good. We couldn't see a reason for the food to arrive so late because it wasn't busy. Overall the food was excellent and I wouldn't fault it. We will definitely return and recommend to others.

Only ate here, did not book a room. Food was lovely as always, a minor point was my Roast Chicken Supreme was listed on the menu as having Morels in it... Which it did not. They were regular closed cup mushrooms, definitely not Morels which, as someone who is a fan of mushrooms/foraging, I was really looking forward to trying. The sauce was very rich and heavy which I wasn't keen on, however my partner loved it. Fish starter was beautiful, as were the desserts. Service spot on as usual.

Lovely weekend stay, in beautiful surroundings. The room was exceptional with a jacuzzi bath and shower. The staff were friendly and professional. We ate in the evening and the food and service was excellent and was breakfast. They accommodated our dog with ease and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be staying again.

One of my favourite places throughout the word... Old English pub with a spirit. Large and warm fireplace, fantastic people both behind and in front of the bar, good beer, good food, a piece of a good old world. Nice and cosy rooms - with old building spirit but still modern, clean and comfortable. And the breakfast, o dear, the gorgeous breakfast.... Once visited, you wish to return at the soonest! (And I write it not only because my daughter's name is Alma too😍)

Lovely stay at the Alma inn! We loved the decor of the room.. very homely and lovely comfy bed! The food was excellent and service was great.

Hearty and tasty food, quiet and comfortable room with lovely countryside views, and excellent customer service.

When we arrived it was very busy but we were still checked in and shown to our room pretty quickly. The room was lovely and so was our meal in the evening. Breakfast was also delicious. All of the staff were very polite and helpful, particularly Harry, the redheaded girl that served us at our table and the lady who got our breakfast and checked us out in the morning, whose names unfortunately I can't remember. 🤦🏻

Called in for lunch on the off chance of availability, they fit us in no problem, we had the lunchtime special menu which was gammon, salad and chips, my wife had small shepherds pie, beetroot and leeks, all was cooked fresh and to perfection, to follow sticky toffee pudding,sauce and ice cream and season crumble n custard, the guest beer was excellent, all in all a very good experience with staff very attentive. Thank you.

I popped in for a late Sunday lunch last week and the food was amazing. Hands down, the best Yorkshire pudding I have ever had. Staff were super friendly and polite. Would recommend.

Didn't stop over so no room review - - - not been for a while but what a lovely meal we had and was made very welcome by all the staff and the Manager Arthur brilliant ambassador for the business will visit again!

What a place !!!!! I love this pub. We came for our wedding anniversary after getting married here 7 year ago and the food is even better ! Gorgeous staff ( Harry, Cath and Olga to mention a few ) could not have made us feel more welcome. Will absolute be back soon xx

We haven't been here for a couple of years. We had a voucher to use from last Christmas. The staff and service were excellent and the place itself was as stunning as ever. The food, however was not the best. We tried to order a starter from the specials and were informed this was sold out. It was only 18.45. I had crab pate to start which was lacking in taste and arrived with minimal pieces of frech toast. My husband ordered mussells which were tepid and a small portion. I ordered fish pie and that was it, nothing came with it. No garnish or peas etc. I noted two prawns and one piece of fish. This is something I could have made myself at home. Nothing special about it. My husband ordered a steak burger with fries and again, no garnish / salad. The prices were very expensive and did not reflect the quality / quantity of the food. Vegetables, french toast, salad etc cost minimal but would have made a difference to our meals. Thanks again to the staff who made us feel welcome.

We had a lovely stay here. The rooms were very comfortable. The staff were very pleasant and friendly. We ate both evenings in the restaurant and the food was excellent. However the booking process was not straight forward. It took me 4 phone calls to confirm the booking. They kept confirming by email that I had was booked one room only instead of two rooms. When it came to paying our bill at the end of our visit, it became very complicated and stressful. We had asked for our food and drinks to be allocated to our rooms. But they had mixed up our bill and it became very confusing as to who had had what. There were a number of receipts that didn't correspond to what we actually had. The package we had agreed on for the two nights stay also appeared very complicated when written down and did not correspond to what we had agreed. Eventually we ended having to calculate and write down everything we had eaten and drunk during our stay. This did take us some considerable time and proved stressful. I would definitely stay here again but feel the administration side of the business needs to be more consumer friendly.

Very clean excellent service,polite staff my daughters wedding reception was held here and it was fabulous the food was excellent highly recommend.

We booked a room for one night with a breakfast at the Alma Inn because we were invited to a family members 90th birthday party which was been held there. The staff on arrival were polite and friendly and welcoming, the room was very clean cosy and comfortable equipped with everything you would need for your stay. The breakfast was well presented, delicious and fairly priced and the service was 10 out 10. Alma Inn's location allows you to relax and unwind with bountiful vistas of the surrounding Yorkshire and Lancashire dales. Thank you to all the staff for your professionalism, and I would recommend a stay at Alma Inn to all and will be back for a longer stay in the future. Mr. T. Atkinson.

Whent to a wedding had 1 drink and run out said it was running the stock down come on asked for a gin that was on the menu sorry no running the stock down so on water all night don't recommend this place 😉

We visited with friends, we had two rooms in the Alma Inn both of which were really comfortable, extremely clean and well stocked. We had dinner on the evening of our arrival which was beautifully cooked and very enjoyable, and we had breakfast before we left, which again was perfect and really beautifully cooked. The staff were exceptionally pleasant and helpful, we really loved our day at the Alma Inn and we are keen to find an excuse to come back! Highly recommend

We had a lovely relaxing two night break at the Alma Inn. It is in a peaceful location with lovely views over the Pendle Hills. Our room was very comfortable and looked out over open countryside. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was very good with plenty of choice. The breakfast was particularly good. There is a friendly atmosphere in the bar in the evening.

Visited here today. My partner and his mum had the seafood curry and I had the pork belly roast. All meals were delicious. Lovely staff and great atmosphere. See you again soon!

Booked in for Sunday lunch and the food was delicious. Despite having 2 functions on the staff were very accommodating despite being very busy. Great welcome, great food.

Went here with my friend 1/9/2024 .What a lovely place, the staff were so lovely and helpful, especially Olga . The staff could not do enough for you. Our room was amazing , bed so big and so comfortable and everything was absolutely spotless. Went down for our evening meal, the food was gorgeous and nice portions too . Lovely atmosphere with the log fires burning too . In the morning went down for breakfast, I have to say it was the best breakfast I have ever had and my friend said the same. And the service was spot on , so helpfull, nothing is too much. We will definitely be back but this time for 2 nights.

Stayed on a Sunday night deal - room was amazing & we could also bring our dog. Lovely beer & both dinner & breakfast were great. Forgot to claim our free drink (special offer). Only slight downside no direct dog walks from the Inn without walking on the country road. Would defo return

Called in for breakfast on the way home from holiday. Breakfast excellent plenty to choose from and great portions lady who served us unfortunately didn't catch her name but she was lovely providing great service, lovely pub hotel overlooking countryside but only 5 mins from Skipton Old Road will book in next time for a long weekend as well worth a visit

We were on Holiday this week , up from Dorset. We have eaten at the Alma on 5 occasions. The Sunday Roast was plentiful and delicious. All the other meals from the menu have also been superb . Great value for money and the Staff have been courteous and helpful on all our visits, a credit to the pub. A Great place to eat , with stunning views.

We enjoyed the meal with our family for my wife’s birthday, the food was lovely and a fantastic setting and a nice atmosphere. The only downside the service was extremely slow. When we asked where our food was after waiting quite a long time we were told that the chef was extremely busy, even though there were only our table and one other at that time in the restaurant.

We have just held my daughter's wedding reception here and the families stayed in the hotel. Everything was perfect and the staff were superb. Special shout out to Arthur for everything and Yvonne for the superb breakfast on the Friday. The rooms were lovely. Plenty of tea and coffee. The location is stunning. Cannot recommend it enough. Oh and the food is superb too!

Been eating at the Alma for a long time but just lately something has changed in the kitchen. Service has slacked off and you need to ask the staff if you can get served, might be short staffed from what it used to be. Food certainly not good at all , infact Grandson said it was "worse than School dinners" . Crumble desserts ordered which were OK but no room in dish to add the custard, you needed to eat some to make room for the custard? which was terrible.

We received a very warm welcome and were shown to our rooms quickly. The room was spacious with plenty of storage and a large bed, however one side was comfier than the other and the pillows were a bit hard. The bathroom was spacious with plenty of toiletries and nice towels and the shower was good. My only criticism would be that the room could have done with some tlc. There was a big crack in the wardrobe door and the paintwork could do with a lick of paint. The staff were all fab and nothing was too much trouble. We ate here too and personally I found the menu a bit limiting as I don’t eat fish, curry or anything with chilli in it, but what I did eat was nice, if a tad pricey. We had Sunday lunch which was pre booked and pre ordered but we still had to wait half an hour, and the food service was generally quite slow in the evenings. The breakfasts were good, but initially very slow despite preordering. That being said, overall it was very comfortable and we would stay here again

Breakfast is a bit pricy for what you get. No pastries, yoghurt, fruit, or museli. Not really continental.

We loved our stay at the Alma Inn. It's great value, good food, very clean and lovely staff. It rates very highly on our list of places we have stayed in. We will go back there again.

We booked a table for Saturday intending to have the fruits de mer and lobster as we both fancied it, upon booking via the website I was informed that this was not available on a Saturday. Next day I called them and asked if it would be possible seeing as that was one of the main reasons why we had booked. The woman who answered said she would contact the chef and ask. They then confirmed it would be okay. We arrived as arranged and were presented with an array of equipment for dismantling a lobster and crab, however when the food arrived the preparation had been done. The various items presented on a stack of plates on ice. Very nice. The problem was that everything was obviously cold, the prawns were fine as was the crab meat and the oysters. The mussels however were slimy and not pleasant and the lobster seemed lacking in flavour although neither of us had eaten lobster before so didn't know what it should be like. Overall it was ok but could be better

What's not to like about the Alma, you always get a warm welcome, attentive staff and amazing food. Beautiful setting. You just can't "beat it".

There are 10 letting rooms but we just popped in for a drink. Atmospheric building with tasteful and sympathetic extension. Feature fireplace but 2 odd table lamps and trailing wires just begging to be a hazard. A very good friend has booked a wedding here and I bet it will be lovely. Oh to be married with a stags head looking down on me.... it must have hit the wall at a heck of a speed!

The singer was really good, and views are amazing enjoyed my dessert.

Lovely short stay at this Inn. Gorgeous setting, clean and comfortable room. Friendly hosts. Shower was a little small, as was the bed, but I believe we did have the smallest room available. For our one night break it was just fine. If we were to return, would pick a bigger room and stay for longer. One night was not enough :-)

Have stayed at the Alma previously for a wedding back in 2009 so thought we would make a return trip. I have to say the whole experience was outstanding from Yvonne serving us breakfast to Arthur his wife plus all the staff….would certainly recommend.

Fantastic place to enjoy a break in beautiful countryside and with loads to do within a short drive. Very comfortable room, clean and bright, good value and excellent breakfast. Highly recommended

Delicious meal supplemented with excellent service and a comfortable room for our overnight stay

A group of us decided to go. All the meals were of decent size apart from the gammon, for £18, a very small slice which was completely covered by the eggs, so small. You get more at the spoons for about £6. Also extremely salty. Let down by one meal.
