As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the staff, who made us feel right at home. The service was impressively quick, allowing us to settle in and enjoy our meal without any unnecessary delays. The atmosphere was lovely, creating a perfect backdrop for our lunch. It was clear that nothing was too much trouble for the attentive staff, who were always on hand to ensure our experience was enjoyable. One of the highlights was the outdoor seating area, which offered stunning views at the front of the restaurant. It was the ideal spot to soak up the sun while savoring our delicious food. Plus, the large car park at the back made it convenient for us to visit without any hassle. The food itself was fantastic—each dish was a delightful combination of flavors that left us wanting more. We left with full bellies and happy hearts, already planning our next visit. If you’re looking for a place that combines great food, a welcoming atmosphere, and beautiful views, this pub is most definitely worth a visit!

Today, we enjoyed an exquisite roast dinner accompanied by exceptional service, delivered with a warm and friendly smile by Jenny.

Today I went for food with my boyfriend, we ordered some splendid food and it went down a treat😋. I loved the layout of the pub felt very cosy and the staff (who I felt like were all ginger) were lovely. Ellie H served me and my boyfriend and she was very friendly and quick to attend when needed. My boyfriend said his pints were lovely , I don’t drink as I’m a recovering alcoholic so I just had alcohol free drinks which there was a lovely selection of. All in all pleasant experience and I will be coming here agai #bigslay

In the area for short break, searched for dog-friendly pub for lunch and chose The Alma due to its great reviews, happy to say we were not disappointed. Area for diners with dogs, separate from main restaurant, was extremely well furnished and comfortable. Plenty of choice on the menu, we had 'small' fish and chips (great size) and coronation chicken open sandwich, both were delicious. Staff were very welcoming, drinks a little pricey, but for the setting, facilities (ladies room was beautiful!) and fantastic food, would highly recommend.

Discussing and helping plan our night was effortlessly easy, ensuring all our requests were fulfilled. Nothing was too much to ask for, even during the event, as was your attention to detail. The food was indeed above 5 star, and least to say a feast. All severed together, on time and hot. Your staff were all to happy and eager to assist with any requests my guests had, making them all feel special .The room was charming, spacious, ambient and warm. My guests were all very impressed with the night, commenting on what a perfect choice of venue it was. Thank you so much.

Overall, a nice country pub with a beautiful view overlooking the hills of Lancashire. Service was friendly and prompt. The food was very good as well, however slightly overpriced for what it was worth. For example, I had Fish and Chips which I could have gone to any other pub for anywhere in the range of £12.05-14.95 but the average price of a main meal including mine, was £17.95. Despite the quality of the food, it was still too pricey.

It's off the beaten track but what a lovely place Great selection of food,drink. The room we stayed in was really nice with great views of the country side. And last but not least, the staff. Thank you all for a lovely stay. Well looked after.

Today I had a splendid experience at the Alma Inn, first it started with me and my other brothers, 3 to be precise. We got Pot pie, Fish pie, Beef bourguinon and the Firecracker Salmon and I must say it was some of the best food I’ve ever had in my life. Absolutely phenomenal. Just sublime. The food was fairly priced and the drink selection was great. The service from the staff was excellent Ellie H was great serving me and my other brothers with quick service and politeness. The toilets were also very clean and the cubicles were lovely, freshly added toilet paper so I know the staff are on top of cleaning the bathrooms. All in all the staff, food and drinks were amazing and me and my other brothers will be coming again.

Fish and chips was lovely on this fine evening after a lovely sunny British day. Ellie’s “H” service was impeccable, such a warm friendly human being and a blessing to the establishment.

The location and the bar were great, and we stopped in room 3. The room was good, but it is in need of some DIY. The main door handle was very loose, the same for the shower head and hot water tap in the bathroom. Plus, some cracking around light switches needs some work. But the room was warm cosy clean and had a bit of a view. Coffee and biscuits on tap, plus a tv with lots of channels to pick from.

I love this countryside restaurant, my family and I have visited this place many times and always had fabulous service, delicious food and nice drinks! The rooms a great with comfortable beds! Thank you one more time and see you soon again!

We have just had a 3 day short stay here with our cocker spaniel. Everything was very good - the rooms, the location, the staff and the food. From here we visited Haworth, Halifax, Saltaire, Hebden Bridge and Ilkley. There are also more local places of interest and shops a short drive away (5 mins in car) if you need anything. The place was quiet and relaxing, although it would probably be a little noisier in the summer when people are sat outside in the sun, enjoying their pints (one can but dream). We would be happy to visit again. Thank you for a nice stay.

Walked up for a meal with my lovely wife. Had baked Camembert, Gammon and Steak our server Jake was really pleasant and professional and cocktails looked and tasted great!!

Fantastic break away. We only live a few miles away and eat here fairly regularly and love the food and always comment on the atmosphere in the bar and how we would like to stay a night. Finally got a night booked and family to have the kids. We were not disappointed. Arrived early to make the most of the stay. Had a few drinks in the bar and some light bits (the smoked duck was fab) and had a few games of cards in front of the fire. Service was brilliant and we got access to our room an hour early. The room was lovely and well equipped. Came back down and had a few more cosy drink and booked our table for 8. Food was stunning - the steak was cooked perfectly and the lobster was fantastic- service again brilliant. Good night's sleep and really really good breakfast. Will definitely do this again bed, breakfast and evening meal package was well worth it - didn't leave the building!

I always enjoy my visits to the Alma Inn—the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the ale is top-notch, and the food is excellent. The staff are fantastic, but a special mention goes to Harry. He’s always in high spirits, friendly, and knows exactly what I want before I even have to order. It’s that kind of service that keeps me coming back. Highly recommended!

We enjoyed staying here once we got a quiet room. This Inn is great if you like being in the countryside for walks over the hills. You need a car and good weather to enjoy this location. The staff provide brilliant service and the ambience was fabulous with a warm, welcoming atmosphere when the fires are lit, lights twinkling and lovely food (although a bit pricey!!!).

Went for a meal with my partner who's birthday it was, fantastic atmosphere and service from staff. Jake was very helpful and I was happy to leave a tip for the staff. Chicken pot pie was exceptional along with the cheese and onion pie also. Would go again happily.

Following a lovely drive out in the countryside it was great to have not only a lovely warming fire, the the great food and quick and prompt service from the staff that are really accommodating. Thanks to Harry, Jake, Rebecca, Ellie and Carla. Highly recommend all on the menu but I love the pot pie wonderful.

Nice decent size room. Big bathroom, jacuzzi bath didn't work though. Cheap, nasty coffee and milk selection in room. Service was slow when checking in, you have to queue up behind people wanting to buy drinks at the bar. Nice location in the middle of the countryside. Nice pub/accommodation which could be easily improved with attention to detail .

We have just been to the Alma for food and I must say the service from the minute we walked in has been great. I had the roast lamb and it was delicious, my partner had the firecracker salmon and he said it was amazing. The food not only looked visually pleasing it actually tasted as good as it looked.

We booked with a large group to stay and food. The food we got was a reasonable standard, but they didn't have half of the menu. They had to change 3 of our groups order due to stock levels. Similarly, the drinks no ice gin in whisky glasses and long waghts for wine. The rooms were clean and tidy. The bill was extremely vague. We ran a tab per room, and the bill came out in the morning saying food and drink, and that's it. not itemised and did appear to be plucked out of thin air.

Didn't stay here, but did have an excellent dining experience. The food, service and decor were of a very high standard. The beer selection could have been better. But very enjoyable all round.

We came in for a drinks and had a great conversation with Jake on the bar, he even convinced us to try some of the food and so glad we did! the Chicken Pot Pie was amazing!

I visited the Alma inn on the 17th in the evening and what a lovely experience, we had a lovely meal and the customer service was amazing! Carla couldn’t do enough for us, what a lovely young lady. Definitely will be returning!

Had food. Didn't enjoy it and cost a fortune. Lamb was.ok but no.veg n got 2 hard roast potatoes. Starters was pil pil gamba and I have had it a few times previously but it came with all the shell n head on.awfull bread. Didn't eat it. If we had known we would not of ordered it. Over priced won't be going again any time soon.

Wonderful little stay that I would highly recommend. The pub/hotel itself is situated in a stunning and peaceful location with lots of nature and hiking trails close by, including Pendle Hill. The staff are exceptionally welcoming; Harry in particular was fabulous! His service throughout dinner and the later evening was faultless. The rooms are beautiful, nice and cosy with all the essentials you would need; I was told there were 9 rooms in total, great to know as I intend to return with my hiking group. I cannot review so positively without mentioning the exceptional food also; I ordered the steak and bone marrow burger which comes with chips, but I also ordered onion rings as a side. I cannot rate this simple sounding dish any higher; just like Harry’s service, it was a solid 10/10 and I actually managed to finish the lot, which rarely happens! The quality of the ingredients and the fact it was cooked fresh is a positive and rare experience nowadays, a burger is not a proper burger if the ingredients are only on par with fast food joints, which this is certainly not. Great drinks selection and the menu is fairly priced, in fact, I’d have probably paid more. I already cannot wait a return visit! What a brilliant place!

There are 10 letting rooms but we just popped in for a drink. Atmospheric building with tasteful and sympathetic extension. Feature fireplace but 2 odd table lamps and trailing wires just begging to be a hazard. A very good friend has booked a wedding here and I bet it will be lovely. Oh to be married with a stags head looking down on me.... it must have hit the wall at a heck of a speed! Since this post I have enjoyed 2 meals here. Lovely food, great beer and attentive service. Also, the table lamps have gone!

Great food, lovely staff & nice atmosphere

We stayed over on the 27th December for my birthday. I can’t thank the Staff enough for making the day so special. The service and meal were excellent. The room was clean, tidy and spacious. The staff were friendly, polite and courteous and made you feel really welcome, The fire adds to the warmth and great atmosphere and would highly recommend for a staycation. Would just like thank Damian, David, Harry and the rest of the team and also a special thank-you to Cath and the catering team.

Went for Christmas Day lunch. Food and service both excellent and the staff friendly and welcoming. My only minor gripe was no roast parsnips which I think should always accompany Christmas Day lunch.

Have been a few times and its always lovely food and good service. The last time we went was for Father's Day. It was a last minute booking and they were able to accommodate us. Had a roast lamb dinner which was a good portion and well cooked. Look forward to going again.

Visited Christmas Eve late afternoon for my wifes birthday with family. Evening started off well with service and great food but after dinner was served the experience went downhill, had to grab staff attention to order a second round of drinks, these did not appear until I had to get up and speak to remind the said staff member by which time we had finished our main course. No one came again to the table and we gave up staying for a desert. Had to get up again to ask staff for bill and then again gave up waiting to pay and went and paid at bar. Service totally lacking at this point of the evening at only 7pm and only two or three other tables which was a real shame as we enjoyed the food, staff busy setting up the rest of the tables for following day.
