Arrived on Sunday 25th August and three of us ordered the Sunday Dinner and what a big mistake that was. 0K the meal was £16 pound and i get it that you pay more in these places. When the Meal came i was shocked as i was expecting the Veg to come in a separate Bowl, so when i asked where the Veg was i was told it was on the Plate. Well on the Plate there was two roast potato's a bit of Broccoli a bit of mash and that was about it. The Beef was of very low quality, what a total let-down.

Excellent food at a great price. 3 of us had Sunday lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. Two had pies and another was beaten by the Big Daddy kebab.

The Punch Bowl offers a scenic location, a friendly welcome and well kept ales. Sadly, the dining experience is badly let down by the poor quality and bad value of the food: the fish and chips included a portion of frozen fish; the cauliflower curry was served with rice AND chips and a generic catering pack sauce. At £16 and £15, we expected much more. A great shame.

Great little pub for a meal out good staff can not do enough for you also a good pint.

After the day my partner and myself have had(a relation who's receiving end of life care in hospital) we were told about this pub by owner of caravan site who recommended it.Food and beer were very good backed up by very hospitable staff.When in the caravan from now on this fantastic pub will be our first port of call👍👍👍

Friendly good service and atmosphere.

Nice looking pub and friendly service, but let down by the beer and very average food. The pies had stodgy pastry, which spoilt n otherwise tasty filling. Caesar Salad was good though. But the beers were not good, OK we did try the bargain (less than £4 a pint one), which we might have expected to be les than dazzling, but the others we tried (between the 5 of us I think we samples most of them, were equally unimpressive. Possibly need to work on their cellar skills.

Just been to the Punch Bowl for a meal,,will definitely not be returning.My husbands Fish and chips were so small the price for a small fish for the price was ridiculous. Cheese and onion pie was also ordered, again small portion for the ridiculous price they were charging. You need to up your portions for the price you charge.

Stopped off here en route home from Great Yorkshire Show. The pub is nicely decorated with a large car park, and a small play area outside. The staff were all very welcoming, and the food was fantastic. Only small negative was the bathroom was in need of a paint & the door cubicle didn't lock. Great food, warm welcome, and cheap prices. Will definitely return when passing again.

This pub had the most friendliest atmosphere. The food was exceptional and the staff were polite and friendly. Will definitely be returning soon

Ordered off the main menu. Cheese & Onion Pie, Chips and Mushy Peas. Chocolate Brownie and Ice Cream. Chips are frozen, Pie was good but not large, Peas are Peas! Chocolate Brownie was rock hard over done in the microwave. I pointed this out but all I got was sorry. I didn't eat it.

Just had a lovely bar meal here. Staff very friendly and food excellent. No complaints. Partner said his burger was delicious and my scampi was very good

Chippy Tea We popped in Friday evening for the chippy tea deal. We hadn't booked but the staff were more than happy to fit us in. We had the fish and chips deal. Very generous portions, piping hot food and perfectly battered golden fish! Very good service and delicious food. Definitely worth a visit, we will be coming back very soon ! If you are looking for a dog friendly place where you can eat inside, this is it. Staff are so nice and helpful, which in itself was enough. But we were blown away by the standard of the pub grub. It's not the same as everywhere. You can tell the chef cares for every plate that is sent out. 5 stars from us. Thank you

What a lovely place. Always meant to return here but it's taken 25 years. Don't know who Jay is? Employee, owner but he made it a very pleasurable visit with his ready smile and wit. Plate of food was huge, delicious, red hot and very tasty.

Jay's the man. He made, what is a great place, even better. Food was piping hot and delicious. We will be back.

went for a drive out came across this lovely place the exterior well kept the interior very nice really clean.the man on the bar was very welcoming, food was excellent homemade tomato and pepper soup was excellent very tasty portion size very good,mushrooms in cream sauce also very good . for mains we had lamb very refreshing to be served proper mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables 😋 will definitely visit here again.

We all had the lamb roast dinners which were beautifully cooked and very tasty. Good value for the price charged. Staff were lovely and very helpful. We'll worth a visit. We will definitely be returning.

Excellent Sunday Lunch for 7 Adults and 2 Children

Not a huge choice on the menu. We both had fish and chips which were cooked well.

We love The Punch Bowl! It is located in the next village to us so quite local and we visit quite often. Never have we ever had a bad meal; always delicious! Portions are huge (even with the BOGOF offer!) Parking is free and plenty of room, a small outdoor play area that keeps our daughter entertained whilst waiting for dinner and it always feels clean and airy. The staff are probably one of the best things about this place. Always friendly, helpful and courteous. We don't usually book but we have been very lucky at times to get in as it can get quite busy. We would definitely recommend a visit for a really good hearty meal with a wonderful welcome.

First visit to this pub I would highly recommend it for something to eat.The staff are very welcoming and friendly if you have a dog there so good with them the give you a bowl of water for your dog.Well worth a visit

We were a group of 6 ladies dining. Had the Christmas Menu 3 courses, not 1 of us could fault any part of the meal. It was piping hot and staff were happy to bring us extra sauces. Some of us enjoyed the mulled wine too 🙂

Today, we had lunch at a favourite old haunt of mine. It's like a fine whisky it just gets better and better with age. Beautiful decor, all decorated for Christmas, lovely and warm with the fire lit . Good selection of cask ales,bar plentiful Spoilt for choice, really. Food amazing, service spot on ,good atmosphere, A good day all round .

Passed the Punch Bowl lots of times but this time called in for Sunday lunch and not disappointed, A warm welcome and nicely decorated bar and dining area. Lunch did not disappoint well cooked and plenty of it so we couldn't manage a desert. Recommended.

Service good..however food poor! Lamb shank not quite cooked! Smothered in a foul tasting sauce .as if a jar of cheap vinegared mint sauce had been just poured over it .. ruined everything! Vegetables..medley.. were they cooked at all ? Cabbage and carrots raw with a few just unfrozen peas! Inedible and cold. Mashed potatoes lumpy with hard uncooked bits ...cold to boot! Other meals similarly poor!! Waste of money ..don't bother!

Visited on Thursday for Pie Night & it exceeded my expectations! 2 pies plus a drink each for £20, great value for money! I had the Meat & Potato and my partner had the Cheese & Onion Pie, we both thoroughly enjoyed it and great portion sizes! We enjoyed it that much we have also booked for next Thursday to make the most of the offer! Would highly recommend!

After seeing the advertisement on FB for the pie night showing delicious meals we decided to give it a try 1. We were served with the wrong drinks including cloudy beer 2. Wrong pies served with beans when peas had been requested. One swimming in gravy when no gravy requested 3 Pies nothing like the illustration. They were an insult to school dinners 4, cold pies 5. We were offered a free coffee due to our disappointing experience. We don’t drink coffee no other incentive offered 6. Spoken to by the manager who asked us to keep the experience quiet and we can have a free dessert at our next visit 7. Construction feedback given on FB only to be remove and then to be blocked from the page 8 I will not be returning so no dessert required To conclude the most awful meal I have every had and dismal customer service skills

I was pleasantly surprised! After visiting this pub before I didn't like children running around whilst I ate my food so I chose to eat elsewhere. I then revisited with my father for an early evening meal and the food was really good. I had a delicious fish pie and it was one of the best. I would recommend this place.

Food was really lovely. I make a class chillie so I'm usually disappointed when ordering it but these guys have nailed it, the lamb shank was even better, mash and veg all good. The curry wasn't bad either, just a tad expensive but id go back to be fair. The waitress was clearly new so I'm not gonna mark down for service. 5 stars Id say Also it's quite smart inside and the view from the garden looked canny too

Dropped in on a Friday night with 2 kids 2 adults. It was absolutely delicious, 100% recommend the cheese pot pie. Kids portions were big too! Definitely will be back and the best thing is it's amazing value for money 😁

Disappointed, used to come it was reasonably priced, it’s expensive as vat is on top of the prices! Lots of spicy dishes as well as some plain pub dishes, I tried the chicken in sauce with paprika very spicy and salty! My husbands kebabs were also salty! Won’t be back!

We popped into this wonderful pub for some dinner as we were on holiday staying at some dome close by. We both ordered the big dad kebab I think it was called. Both my partner and I were surprised at the size and quality of the meat. It was delicious. We have had very similar flat bread kebabs back home in Newcastle but we were in agreement there were the best ones we've ever had. The staff were all very nice and helpful too.

I hadn't been in here for over 20 years it used to be a bit dark and dingy. It's now really lovely with excellent food. The lady behind the bar was lovely, friendly and helpful. The meat and onion pie - homemade- was lovely.

Me and my partner went in for the 1st time today for a breakfast which was a buffet style bottomless breakfast in a really clean environment. The food was really good and the guy at the bar serving was really helpful. So he deserves a bit of credit also. We have vowed to go in there again for another breakfast or dinner sometime. Great place

Called in the Punch Bowl for a bite to eat, was offered the specials menu and chose the fish pie 'WOW' it was amazing, packed with cod, haddock, salmon, prawns and scallops and a lovely side of vegetables to go with it. Definitely recommend this to anybody 👍👌👍

Family Sunday lunch for 7, on Sunday the 9th April. Absolutely disgusting. Service and food was appalling. Even after pointing it out to the staff, all we got was sorry, no discount, even though we sent our plates back with half the food??? Back. I wouldn’t have served this to pigs.

I was here with my sister in December last year and it was great, however went yesterday with 6 family members and it was dreadful, the service was awful and the roast dinners were inedible, we complained as we all sent back half full plates, but they would not take anything off the bill . I won't be going again unless the management and staff change

Asked for the bill, got charged full price and she said she wasn’t allowed to knock anything off the bill. The child’s meal wasn’t much better, 3 small fish fingers which wasn’t what was stated on the menu, peas came in a bowl of water and chips looked like they had been reheated. All in all a shockingly terrible meal, wouldn’t recommend to anyone, wouldn’t come again and will be spreading awareness of how rubbish the food served here is.

Poor service. Smells of wet dog. Not a nice environment. Wouldn't send my worst enemy. Nicer pubs down the road. To top this off one of the bar staff sent me a load of abuse for my negative review. Brilliant 😂 this is definitely the pub. And I still have the messages from your member of staff who contacted me on FB messenger.

Service and food was absolutely appalling. Drinks order was wrong. Food order was wrong. Food was inedible. Told staff at the time, didn’t even get a discount.

Went for what we thought was going to be a lovely Easter weekend family meal only for us to be very disappointed with Sunday lunch we had today, most of the food seemed like it had been reheated and undercooked, Drinks were ordered first only for one to be missed and then the same happened again with one of the meals as much as we got an apology that came too late as the bill still had to paid at full price not even the offer of any discount I shall definitely not be returning to this establishment again.

Called in for a drink today. Now the punch Bowl is a homely attractive pub with a very pleasant atmosphere. The lady who served me was welcoming and friendly. Think she could have well have been the landlady. Also good to see that dogs are welcome again following a big mistake from the pasy

Thought we would give the buffet breakfast a go, we arrived with a toddler needing a high chair, only three high chairs available, which were already reserved, had to struggle with a toddler that wouldn’t sit still on a chair, think the breakfast should include...

Nice to be back in the area where the landlady was engaging and had a bit of banter at my son's expense. Meals looked good and there was quite a few in for the time of day relaxing decor with a feature wall with stags on that she kindly told me where she bought it from. Will call again.
