I had been itching for a sunday roast for months and when i was told the G & D did them i made sure i was visiting this week. Not disappointed. Excellent food. Spot on. Plenty of it. Decent beer to boot. I can see myself working my way through this pubs extensive menu over the coming months. It all looks amazing.

Regular live music on. Excellent home cooked food and friendly staff. Good selection of beers. Cosy interior and decent beer garden.. well located in the village near to the park and canal etc.. One of the best pubs in Pendle and Burnley!

First time we have been here. Thought the food and the service were first rate. The best steak and ale ple I have ever tasted. Highly recommended.

Called in on a Friday lunch time for food. Very friendly staff and a relaxed feel. We’ve been before when passing through the area. We both had the pies and peas. Tasty comfort food and a fair price. Even the dog got a treat.

Even though I live just up the road from here, I have not visited until a few weeks ago. And what a pleasant surprise it was. The food is first class, and not just the usual boring pub grub, a varied and excellent choice. The staff and service were fantastic. Lovely decor, very warm and inviting. Dogs are allowed in which is a big plus also. Would recommend a visit.

Delicious food brilliant service, nothing to much for them. We wanted a pizza but to take home,and it was no problem it was ready to take with us when we were leaving. Lovely pub with live music, unfortunately it wasn't on until 10 and we had to get our mum bk home. Maybe next time. Its our second time eating there and we will definitely be bk !

What a find. Delicious food, great choice great atmosphere. Service was excellent. Dog friendly. Undoubtedly one of the best, if not THE best pub food I have ever enjoyed.

Always a little claustrophobic in here but I've been a few times now. I don't like the live music aspect, the sound doesn't work in a small low-roof pub like this in my opinion... Go on a nice quiet evening though and it's a lovely little place.

Popped into the George and Dragon on a Thursday lunch time. Myself and Partner were in the area visiting family and had previously been here for lunch so thought we'd try it out again. It didn't disappoint we both had Pie and Peas which was absolutely spot on. The price was good the staff were friendly you can't ask any more than that. Will come in again when we're next in the area.

We had Sunday roast here. None better. Could cut the beef with a fork. Will definitely be going here again.

I had planned a surprise party for my wife’s 60th birthday. 70 guests were coming so I ordered pie and peas for that number. The staff very generously offered to put up balloons and party decorations and I dropped the cake off the night before. When we arrived everything was as promised and they’d even given us exclusive use of the dining area. The food was served bang on time and was delicious. Everyone commented how good pies were. The bar service was excellent as always with no queues. There’s a great family feel to this pub as the staff are very cheerful and welcoming. Thank you so much for helping to make Gail’s special day perfect.

What a dive!! Went in for one with my fiance, on arrival we saw an old lady, around 75. with her head gashed on the pavement, there where people surrounding her. On arrival I presumed the people around her where employees of the george and dragon, however the people around her where punters, staff inside the pub apart from one member of staff, were not willing to help the old lady who was injured on the floor. By the time the ambulance arrived at the scene, the injured lady was potentiality comforted and felt slightly comfortable in the horrible situation, only for the customers who took time out of there own weekend to assist this lady. This woman was well into her 70s and in a completely horrific predicament. I wouldn't wish my worst enemy to be desperate enough, to ever need any help in this establishment, as they wouldn't receive one ounce of empathy or kindness from any of the management or staff (Barr one). Stay way clear of this ridiculous, shambles of s shack. What a complete disgusting experience. Horrified and disturbed, avoid at every cost!!!

Had the mixed starter, then the Sunday Roast (2 large slice roast beef, roasties, boiled pots, veg). Good friendly service. Resonably priced tasty wine (Percheron red) and Moretti on draught. Warm & welcoming pub.

Not been here before. Very nice food and bar staff. Entertainment on at the weekends. Would recommend.

Finally managed to find somewhere that could accommodate my Wife, daughter and Grandchildren for Mother's Day. First time visit and was not let down. Polite staff on arrival and was attended by the new landlady. From the beginning to the end the food was very well presented and tasted as good as it looked. We are due back in next few mths but have informed other family members to eat there. We'll done to all the staff especially the Chef

Surprisingly good food. Was not expecting much from a town centre pub, but the cottage pie was delicious and the service was really good.

Fantastic little pub. At short notice they accommodated our large family for dinner. The staff were lovely and welcoming and the food was gorgeous, being really well presented on the plates too. Even though food service had finished they happily served us dessert. We even got to thank the chef. We had a great couple of hours here, would definitely go again when we’re visiting the area.

My wife and I visited on 3rd October and enjoyed our meal. So much, we booked to visit again on the 19th Oct. On arrival, our welcome wasn't very cordial. The lady behind had her back to the counter. Engrossed with a mobile phone. Eventually another member of staff, noticed us. Then they both pointed to a table, directing us where to sit. We made our way and seated ourselves down. Fully expecting table service. None was forthcoming. After waiting twenty minutes. During which time, the lady behind the bar cleared some crockery off a table next to us, from previous customers. I commented to nmmy wife, perhaps they have only two plates, and can't take our order. Iwas trying to make light of our situation. But we were completely ignored. Perhaps it was because they couldn't be bothered to serve two very elderly persons. We just got up and vacated the premises. We will not be going back. I'm sorry to say.

Great quiz on a Wednesday night with quiz master keggy. Supper thrown in and just £1.00, yes that's right a quid!!

Fish and chips. Good quality, good price and friendly staff. Dog friendly and an outside seating area what more do you need.

Driving through and fancied something something to eat,so looked on trip advisor and read a few reviews and we decided to try it out.I got the liver and onions and my girlfriend got the chilli hotdog.The portion sizes were great and the food was delicious it’s very well priced and in a great location,well worth a visit.

We tried this pub for food earlier on in the year & the food was so good we said that we would try it again, we all had the Sunday lunch beef & Lamb, both the meats were delicious the beef just melted in your mouth, the only thing I was disappointed with was the roast potatoes they were frozen & not very nice other than that it was a good tasty lunch.

Great real ale, great food,pool teams pretty average though

I visited with family, we all got the Lamb roast, although it cost a little more than other places, the plate was full, 5 thick slices of lamb which was very tender, lots of veg and good gravy, the staff were friendly, food arrived quickly, it is what i call an old fashioned pub with an old world charm. The menu is not extensive but the food is good.

We enjoyed a nice walk along the canal and called in at The George for a bite and a beer. We both went snacky with a Tropical Toastie and Meatballs on garlic bread, both a little bit different. Went in on a Thursday night, polite bar staff, quiet atmosphere, nice music. Interested in coming back to check out the live music events. Only downside is there's a £10 minimum for card payments and bottles of wine are £12 so make sure you've got cash on hand before you land. Other than that great pub.

Decent enough food in a pleasant but surprisingly soulless pub, saved by nice and genuine folks behind the bar. Good choice of ales but sadly the whole place is missing heart for some reason.

A visit with Family selected after reading Trip Advisor reviews. Didn’t disappoint. Friendly service & flexible with our meal choice’s changing some items on the Meals. Lovely & cozy venue with a Good selection of Beers, Wines & soft drinks for the kids. Rescheduled another visit for the upcoming Mother’s Day. All in all, Food & Drinks Great & served how they should be! Give it a Go!

This pub is only a 10 minute walk for us & we usually just have drinks there,but we kept getting told how good the food was, so we decided to go for a Sunday roast, we got excellent quick service & the meal was fantastic & very reasonable, we will be eating there again soon.

First visit to the George and Dragon in Barrowford when visiting family - will certainly be visiting again. Excellent service and delicious food. Plenty & varied menu choices. Looking forward to our next visit.

Reserved a table for Friday T Time our 1st Visit I was just looking on here as we wanted to try somewhere different,we will definitely be going back received a warm & friendly welcome from the man behind the bar,lovely cosy,modern pub to eat in on a wintery evening,the food was excellent & well presented,don’t know why we haven’t tried this pub sooner as we are only a 10 min car ride away we will definitely be back to try other items on the menu.

This long established drinking house has followed the trend towards providing food, loosely described as pub-grub. Balancing the two pulling powers of drink and food is not easy to attract new customers, The George and Dragon must be doing something right because our motivation for a Birthday treat at the pub was the glowing recommendations from various members of our family and friends.

Came here for Christmas dinner and it was excellent! Chris and the team always offer such a warm welcome. If you are looking for a traditional yet modern and homely place to eat visit here. Also a great night out with some excellent local bands ;) The George never fails in every aspect!

I have been visiting the George and Dragon for many years now. The pub has always been very friendly and welcoming, whether it be if you come for a quiet a drink or to sample their fantastic varied menu. The pub has had an amazing recent refurbishment, which looks great! The weekly live bands at weekends are a great addition to the pub and the atmosphere is always super! I cannot fault this place, the landlord always has a smile on his face! I am looking forward to visiting tonight to sample one of the new dishes from the new menu.

The George and Dragon is a thriving village pub which really comes alive at weekends when there's a variety of good live music. Alongside the usual drinks there is also a range of real ale. The home cooked food is worth trying too

We didn't eat here today but can confirm that that from previous visits, the menu is extensive and great value. Always friendly service, good beer and good quality food. Weekend evenings are brilliant with local bands playing... Would wholly recommend a visit!

Me and my partner have just been and enjoyed a lovely meal, I had a cheese and bacon burger and my partner had the hot chicken curry, we both really enjoyed it and the food was gorgeous. The staff where very welcoming. We’re not from the area but we will be visiting again. Thank you.

We had an excellent bar snack and wine. Followed by Mr Friday night the DJ who loves the 80s. A fun night for everybody.

Not too many beers for the real ale fan but a nice place to sit and chat. Friendly service, not a great deal of atmosphere.

We ended up here after a work meal out just for a few drinks, yes it was late and we had a few wines already but found the staff to be very rude and snotty towards us, sure they have had to deal with lively customers before maybe bit of a smile wouldn't go amiss

Tuve casero queso n tarta de cebolla, patatas fritas n judías. Las patatas fritas eran macizos, crujientes y esponjosos dentro. luz n Las mejores patatas fritas, he comido! ! ! ! ! ! Salida de un grupo de cuatro sólo una queja. Era mi padre que es tan exigente con la carne. Él había pedido el filete de pechuga y dijo que estaba seco. Pero l me encantó mi comida como todos los demás. Me encantaría tener una visita de vuelta. Es antiguas dentro n hay un ambiente encantador que se ajusta como un edificio

Esta es la segunda vez que hemos comido aquí y, una vez más, el servicio y la comida eran excelentes. La comida y la atención al detalle en la presentación de la comida es tan buena como te en un restaurante. Lo recomiendo encarecidamente.

Went to the George and Dragon on Sunday. we had a lovely lunch. it is the best food in barrowford not ping rubbish like the white bear etc. will be going more often now. try it you will not be disappointed

Ate here on Easter Sunday with my family and at first we didn't hold out for too much due to the atmosphere- could do with a bit of a refurb. However, the staff were super friendly and polite. The dragon ale on tap (can't remember the exact name) was apparently delicious and we were all delighted with our food. My sister's piece of salmon was huge and really fresh. We all enjoyed it and it was just good pub grub which is exactly what we wanted. Mini criticisms include the sauces would be nicer served in a pot- not sachets and the English mustard was weak and bland- Colmans would be much better. This place is miles better than the White Bear a little further down. Easy, simple, yummy.

Our daughter came over for a visit so we popped down to the G & D for a bite. My favourite dish had sold out so I went for the New York chicken and enjoyed it just as much :)The food was very nice, as usual, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Our daughter can be quite fussy with food, but enjoyed all hers and left very little, usually a good sign :)Will no doubt be back again.

Traditional pub with dining area to the right as you enter and drinking area to the left. Good pub atmosphere with friendly helpful staff. Also traditional good local hand pulled ale on tap. Well worth a visit.

4 of us went for lunch all really enjoyed our meals and we all had different meals service was very good but we had a long wait for our food which took nearly an hour and there were only 6 other people in did not matter to us but no good if you on a working dinner hour.Will return as the food is very good.

We were visiting relatives for Christmas and needed somewhere to eat at the last minute. We called a few recommended restaurants but there was no room at the Inn! We called in at the G and D and asked for a table later in the day and they were so accommodating. When we arrived our table was waiting and the service was excellent. The menu consisted of good hearty bar food exactly what we required.We did not have a long wait and our food was well presented, very yummy and reasonably priced!Living on the south coast it is sometimes difficult to get a prawn sandwich (would you believe it!) But the prawns sandwich I had here was superb! I would definitely recommend. All the food was tasty and we all had clean plates.The service continued and with prompt clearing of the plates and checking that everything was ok. The next time we are visiting relatives I would definitely go here for lunch!Thank you

The George And Dragon is one of the few establishments that I will go out of my way to visit. The food here really is second to none. Whether you fancy a light lunch or a hot, hearty dinner, the menu caters for all tastes. High quality ingredients, excellent service and presentation make the Dragon a must if I'm in the area. Nice selection of real ales that are kept and served exactly as they should be. As a long time member of CAMRA, I can say that the landlord certainly knows his stuff. Friendly bar staff, very reasonable prices, great food/beer and a relaxed atmosphere are the reasons for my repeat custom. Highly recommended.

There was an excellent live band on, the place was packed. The problem I had was the beer was atrocious. So as much as the music was good that wasn't my reason for attending. Probably a reason everyone was drinking lager not bitter!
