The Cabin in Pendle

After reading reviews we thought we would have breakfast here. The tea was served straight away with a 20 minute wait for the cooked deluxe breakfast. It was greasy, all piled onto a small plate and items of a poor and cheap quality. Took me back to the cheap London "Greasy Spoons" of the 70s. The Cabin not dog friendly, was very cramped inside and with the entrance door left constantly open it was also very cold inside. Not an enjoyable experience and expensive for what it was...... which was terrible. Our advice,...... go to the Barley Mow Pub a 2 minute walk away

Visited for a hot drink after Pendle Hill.

Always good food at a reasonable price. Outside tables often have wet seats, not dog friendly inside which must loose them lots of trade as most who visit have a dog.

Great food and fairly priced many options I tried the broth warmed me up. Great staff have been a few times will definitely go again.

Always glad to get back to The Cabin after climbing Pendle.

Great place to finish or start your walk up Pendle hill, had the deluxe rambler breakfast and couldn't be happier with the price, quality and quantity are spot on. A great spot even if you're in the area for food. Recommended.

An unexpected find on our day out. So glad we had lunch here. My DH had the beef broth and dumplings and I had Mediterranean soup, both were fab and homemade as were the delicious cakes. I look forward to returning. The owner and her mum were v friendly. 😍

Only purchased a coffee, but food that was being brought out looked yummie !

Had a tasty rhubarb and coconut cake, and a much needed cappuccino after going up and down Pendle Hill!

Lovely cafe by the carpark. Reasonable price and good service. Homemade Steak and Ale pie with mushy peas was very tasty.

Lovely lunch spot where we were able to sit outside as we had our dog with us. Thankfully the weather was drier than forecast as they don't allow dogs inside.

We stayed overnight in the pub with our motorhome, had a lovely walk this morning and lunch in the Cabin. Great food , great prices with friendly staff, and amazing gluten free options

Great place for walkers returning from Pendle Hill. Sitting in the sun, simple menu well done, (sausage sandwich, bacon pancakes, pie and peas/beans, soup) chatter from neighbouring tables. If it rains there is seating indoors. Loo. Perfect. Will go again.

Myself and a couple of friends went there a couple of weeks ago whilst going up Pendle Hill. We all ordered sperately hot drinks for takeaway. Even though out of us 3 I ordered first, my friends got their drinks after a couple of minutes, but mine did not arrive. I went to ask about it and been told "its coming". People who ordered well after me got their drinks, but mine was no where to be seen. I wanted a total of 22 minutes before asking again (for a simple mocha). I went in the cafe (as we were waiting outside) and asked again, and none of the servers / baristas even knew that they were supposed to do my drink. They were still serving others who came after. I had to wait inside another 5 minutes and stand directly near the till to get the drink. And once they finally gave it to me (over 30min in total) it came in a wrong cup. They ignored me the whole time, didnt even say sorry for the wait. The service is extremely poor, staff are more infterested in gossping then working. Not worth waiting over half an hour for a cup of coffee. Would not reccomend.

We arrived at 2.30 the staff were taking their lunch breaks. The beef broth & dumplings was excellent, but the jacket potato was cold, as it had tuna on it we didn't complain as didn't want to see food wasted.

Great little cafe to visit after walking in the Pendle Hill area. The establishments staff were friendly and their coffees were most welcome after a long wet and cold walk. But the star of the show was chocolate pudding with custard, this hit the nail on the head and I was ready for another long walk afterwards, only kidding. Again a great cafe and I look forward to walking in that area again if only to revisit this cafe.

Food smelled heaven, and tasted just as good. Coffee wasn’t great. Good WiFi, important as no phone reception. Would be good for cyclists too with outdoor seating and homely, delicious food.

A great bolt hole in poor weather after a walk, nice food, drinks etc. looking forward to sitting outside again with an ice cream soon.

Cosy little cafe, lots of souvenirs available, jams, cordial etc. Staff pleasant, polite and very apologetic as they didn't have any tea cakes. It was clean and tidy. Lots of outside seating and on a large car park. Whilst it's entrance is wheelchair friendly, you would struggle to manoeuvre inside the cafe as it's only small.

We had a lovely lunch today. Staff very friendly. Would recommend this little cabin cafe. Good basic food. Clean and welcoming

Visited today, customer service extremely poor, management were rude! Cooked food next to serving hatch, not covered. Wait for coffee 1 hour +. Will not be going back, poor customer experience!

A lovely little cafe in Barley village car park used by many climbing Pendle Hill. Excellent home cooked food including meals and snacks. Very friendly service. Gifts available in the cafe reflect the area's historical associations with witchcraft.

Great and fantastic surroundings too

Very good team of hardworking staff, all beavering away very efficiently on a hot day. Prompt service. Friendly and helpful. I had a Lancashire cheese cold sandwich platter and a fruit scone. Great sarnie with lots of lovely proper cheese in. Scone was a bit of a small, runt shaped one but it was all good. Gets very busy but it doesn't affect the pleasant service you receive. I wouldn't want to work in a hot cabin on a steamy hot busy day, so all the staff did really well. Also sells consumables, mugs, teatowels etc. Plenty of outdoor seating and there's picnic tables by the stream too. Loo block just opposite. Car park which costs just £3 for 3+ hours. I would revisit when in the area as it was good service and food was reasonably priced too.

Been before and every time a warm welcome and excellent service, nice coffee. Going to Barley again in a couple of weeks, definitely going back to the Cabin 😊

We visited here on our walk , the scones were delicious, but the young girls need to up their customer service a bit , a bit rude , and abrupt, the young girl with blonde hair was very pleasant and happy though.

Handy place in Barley but not a fancy place by the car park would I return yes if I was in need of a drink or some thing to eat

Excellent breakfast and a good brew

A superb cafe serving hot and cold food from a timber cabin building at the foot of Pendle Hill. A God-send of a place for fuelling up before you set off, or for a treat when you get back off the hill.

Been here loads over the past 10 years. NEVER had a bad meal ! ! Always nice staff. Small rambler’s breakfast today was amazing as always. Black pudding 👌🏽👌🏽😍😍 Thank you to the crew.

If your heading for pendle hill or other walks in the area this is the perfect start and end

A lovely spot for a Cafe, toilets lots of parking, plenty of seating and a nice picnic spot. A good selection of food and drink.

Lovely food, great prices and great staff. Ate here twice in our 4 day stay in the area. First time husband had large breakfast and I had the small. Tasty sausages - meant to ask where they are from. Second visit we both had BLT, little disappointed with the amount of bacon but still good. We had our 2 puppies with us both times and there were plenty of bowls of water around the tables. Would definitely recommend a visit.

We went when only the kiosk was open but still serving hot drinks and ice cream, but from past visits, the food is spot on, the service is very good and the inside decor is wonderful with little snippets of information about the area, reasonably priced, well worth a visit

Stopped in here after walking Pendle Hill for a can of pop and an ice cream. Good selection of food and drinks and plenty of outdoor seating. Next to the car park (£3 for all day) and public loos. Great location for a pit stop after walking in the local area. Dog friendly too

Just stopped for a toilet break, car park free for 1st 30 mins though you do have to get a ticket from machine or you will get charged later (ANPR cameras) in entrance

We parked here to have a walk up Pendle Hill, sunny day warm gentle breeze. Fantastic walk with views to match, until you come to pay for parking. Why not have a simple ticket machine, wouldn't let us pay by card or cash today. Just been online and paid when I have got back home, but looking on the Facebook page and reading some of the comments I'm not to hopeful that it will be recorded and I'll probably still receive a fine.......

Considering all the walks here, and around here, I'm very surprised that they don't allow dogs in the cabin like most tea shops do. I know they have outside seating but we went it was raining very hard and ended up sitting in our car as we couldn't take the dogs inside. Very disappointing 😞

Really nice homely place, the foods lovely especially the home made broth! Definitely worth a sit in, however the only teeny issue that put me off ever so slightly was catching a couple of the younger female staff...errm... scratching at their private regions and adjusting of underwear whilst handling food ✋ doesn't take five minutes to give your hands a quick bit of sanitiser. Aside from that I'd come here again as the food IS lovely, nestled in the shadow of Pendle Hill and plenty parking available albeit pay to park and can be busy at times. But worth the visit!

Only had a brew, didn't try the food but it looked very nice. Staff were friendly and service was quick. BEWARE the Parking Eye ANPR system on the car park - not a criticism of the Cabin (not their fault) but you get 30 mins free before they shaft you.

I just stopped for a brew. So all I can say is, they do a nice coffee.

Inside was busy when we arrived but after a short wait we got a table. We had the special burger with fries, a tuna, cheese & onion toastie, vanillla milkshake (with cream & marshmallows) and a cappuccino. Food and drinks were excellent as was the service from the friendly staff. I can’t fault this place at all. Definitely recommended after a hike up Pendle Hill.

Visited here today with 6 others after a run up to Pendle hill. Had the lovely home made soup followed by a scone with cream and jam. Delicious :-) friendly service with a smile. Would highly recommend

Absolutely terrible, we were ignored by all the staff today and stood in the rain for at least 5 minutes. They don't deserve any custom in my opinion.
