Chicken nuggets were all undercooked could’ve made a child really ill! Chicken burger was just sh*t the bread just mush. The gammon overcooked, peas dry as a bone. Horrendous experience. 0 star Chefs must be p*ssed!

Didn't think this pub was open until 2, and was going to walk past. Luckily the door was open and food was being served so we bobbed in. Glad we did. Partner had the mixed grill and I had the lasagne. Very tasty and affordable. Staff really friendly, had the impression that it was new management. Would recommend

My friend and I ate today at the Spinning Wheel , My Stater ok .My Friends Soup just ok , Mains My Meal was Stodge .My friends not really nice too ,We weren.t the only ones who complained , was offered a sweet or drink free ,I took the Drink , Would think it would be better , We won.t go again ,Think they would try harder.

Called in with a friend who lives 5 minutes away from the Spinning Mill to have lunch. Clean and pleasant surroundings with friendly and polite service. The menu is simple and honest pub food, nicely presented on the plate, tasty and filling. Prices are easy on the pocket too. Good selection of draught beers and spirits. Overall we were both very happy with the visit and we'll certainly call in again. If you're looking for a cosy local pub for a quick bite to eat, the Spinning Mill is just the ticket.

lovely meal, really impressed, very friendly staff, highly recommended, iwe will be going regular as we only live 10 mins away by foot, we stopped going as last managers were not serving food regular, now its served every day and its a good menu😁

Refused voucher we had. Very rude staff. Highly UNRECOMMEND. Not a very welcoming place and alittle tired and shabby.

Visited Thursday evening for first time and really enjoyed the 2 course meal we had I had the cheese and onion pie my wife had the mince and onion pie with chips very good and inexpensive will return soon.

Visited Thursday 30th August for a meal. It was a new menu. Food was excellent service was very good. Well worth a visit 😁

Amazing food the chef is brilliant. Amazing chips, brilliant cheese pie, all round perfect homemade food. Really reasonable prices and you leave feeling full. The only downside is the service which is a bit lacking but still acceptable. Will definitely be back.

Visited here with a large group of friends and family on a Friday lunchtime. Not everybody in our group was eating but those who did were not disappointed. My partner and I ordered two mains from the "2 for £10" section of the menu. I went for the homemade cheese and onion pie and my partner went for the homemade steak and ale pie. The quality of our pies was fantastic, both really tasty, and both came with really nice homemade chips - we were both amazed at how they do such good quality homemade food for the price. Some of our group who weren't initially eating actually ordered food after seeing/tasting ours! To the very friendly chef who looked after us all so well, thank you once again and we will definitely be back!

I was taken here by friends and I have to say I had one of the very best Cheese and Onion pies ever. It is one of the pensioners special menues. Served between 5-6 pm on certain weekdays Three courses for around £7 I had the Cheese and Onion pie, mushy peas and great chips and gravy, then i had a delicious Sticky Toffee pudding and Custard to follow. It was all home made and sooo good. Very friendly Landlord snd staff all so very helpfull. I will definitely be back for more.

After recommendation we called into this pub.Was met by a guy behind the bar we asked him about booking an event.i was told the day was free we discussed food and were told to call back the following day once we had chosen the Buffett but the day was ours venue booked.A.M the following day all menu chosen. We received a call from the same guy telling me the booking was being cancelled by him due to another booking with more people wanting the day. Imagine my horror invites send Facebook done absolutely flabbergasted.invited them to reply from email nothing came . Moral be very very careful when booking anything at this venue.

Use this place due to work. Usually leaving lunches and Christmas finish. As there is sometimes a big crowd of us best to put order and time in to help them out. Staff pop in sometimes just for lunch to out of the offices. Menu is the type found in your regular chain eateries but we have always found it to be fine for the price. Still has a local feeling and atmosphere to the place though which is good.

Cannot fault the quality of food, the prices or the portion sizes. Once again had a cracking meal after doing the weekly shop. Two mains for £10, Landlord is very friendly and you can tell he cares when he asks how your meal is, or was. Lady from the kitchen is lovely too. Great pub and really handy being near the super market and the gym. Well worth a visit :-)

our third visit for a meal and again it was excellent, the cook is very polite and friendly both our meals were excellent i will be telling every body they must try as i think it is the best in the area we will be back again as soon as posible welldne to all tht staff

Estuve con un cupón de 2 dormitorios. Intentaron en vano reservar usando el número de teléfono en el bono y el sitio Web de spinning mill que era incorrecto! Envié un correo electrónico al Pub y también 2 DORMITORIOS tres veces pero ninguno respondió así que tuvimos que conducir 10 millas sólo para conseguir el número de teléfono para poder reservar! !

Buena comida agradable pub amable. Limpio y ordenado. excelente comida bien preparada en platos calientes. Buenas ofertas con platos tarta una pinta lo Kenny le gusta

I brought a client here for lunch.. 10/01/2017 very warm and welcoming on entering.. menu well presented easy to order when ur ready at the bar. I had a meal deal 2 mains for £10.00 I didn't want chips due to diet I asked for a side salad instead not a problem for this lovely place.. meal arrived lovely and hot (not the salad off course) my client had a pudding said it's the best she's ever tasted. Polite friendly staff, very clean pub would definitely recommend anyone to come and shall be going again! Thank you :)

I visited the spinning mill twice this week and came away without a meal both times. Why? Well fair enough on Tuesday it was closed until Saturday for kitchen refurbishment. So on Saturday we came back to use our prepaid 2BR voucher. We went to the bar, ordered drinks before finding our seats and choosing from the menu. When we mentioned the voucher to be told that we cannot use it because three other parties were coming in 5 hours later that day using a voucher! ( go figure!) Given that there are only three more weeks to use this voucher before it expires and we are back to work next week, and we have tried twice to use it to no avail thus far. It's beginning to look as if the 2BR voucher could be a scam. Also we found that the advertised £20 for drinks and food didn't in fact include drinks and because we had already ordered drinks before being told we couldn't eat ( thinking it was included in the voucher) we were charged and had to pay for drinks we didn't even consume before leaving to eat elsewhere. Poor, poor customer service! We will never eat here again and still have a voucher which we have paid for and won't be able to use. Not happy customers.

Went to the Spinning Mill for lunch, for the first time, after Christmas shopping yesterday. The meals were delicious - homemade pie and even the chips were homemade! Two meals and two perfect pints for under £15 and the staff were friendly, courteous, attentive and efficient, without being too 'in your face' Thank you!

Not a gastro pub but the food was excellent .xmas menu nothing pretentious but delicious .Perfect for a get together with friends,family or Xmas party from work .staff were friendly .For a small pub it is perfect for an alternative to the busy overpriced resturants at this time of year. I had melon starter well presented with a hint of chocolate delicious and traditional turkey meal .I would certainly recommend it to try.

Just had a very nice meal at this friendly pub 3 of us had the 10oz rump steak well cooked and really tender one other person in our party had the gammon ,we all enjoyed our food and drinks would recommend we will be back .

My partner and I came here for lunch, luckily we came early as there was a sign up saying the kitchen would close at 5 that day.The food was ok, although my burger being served on a wooden board was a bit off putting. The room was full of clutter at the back, and it was cold in there. This was our first visit and I'm afraid probably our last.

Have visited the pub several times at lunchtime and have always found the staff friendly and efficient The food is excellent, especially the home made steak pies.

Thought we'd try this place after recently moving into the area, the first time was a sunday evening we arrived at around 6:30pm and were told that they stopped serving food at 5:45pm(???). The sunday after we go in and are told the kitchen is shut today. Seems like they just serve food when they feel like it. We won't be trying again.

Visited today for a family christening. On arriving I noticed this photo advertising fresh coffee. Which was great as I was driving. After quite a wait at the bar I asked for a coffee, the barmaid firstly wasn't sure if they served it. She then said she would have to go out back to make me one. She made me feel like I was putting her out. As we waited I noticed a coffee machine at the bar which wasn't even switched on. She returned and boiled a kettle. The coffee I was then presented was cold and did not taste fresh. Not great at all. Overall the pub had a nice atmosphere, and catered really well for the christening. Just a shame the service at the bar put a dampener on the trip. Another positive was the lovely beer garden at the rear.

I visited this pub yesterday lunchtime with family and the food was very good home cooked with a wide choice menu . Pleasant friendly staff and quick service will definitely return.

I went with and few friends and girlfriend for a meal and order the mill burger others ordered the normal burger, cheese and onion pie,and soup and sandwich all came to about 25 quid with drinks and 2 FREE kids meals so very cheap we thought also came out in 20 mins.Meals came out steaming and massive portions after we finished our meals we were stuffed and enjoyed our food even some left there's that much.Staff are great nice clean places and would recommend it to anyone there are different offers for each day like free beer free kids meals ect.All in all love it thanks spinning mill will be back soon

Been in here twice in the evening or food. We were visiting relatives and are ex nelseners so not regulars. Both times the kitchen shut early, the second time bacause she had a big order and couldnt mange another one.!!!

Been with family and had a lovely meal. The service and food were quality. A lovely pub that is clean,friendly and above all serves great food.

Went with sister in law and had a lovely meal which was home made, well presented and a good sized portion even though it was on the meal deal 2 for £10 the Spinning meal was clean and warm and I will return in the future...

they serve typical pub food, it is tasty, hot and we didn't have to wait too long. Staff were friendly and prices reasonable.

Looking for an cheap eatery for a small group we decided on this place as an alternative to the dreary Wetherspoons or Sizzling Inn, both of which can be packed on an early Sunday evening. We got a table, easily, as the place was virtually empty. This should have been a warning sign I guess but we ordered at the bar (a laborious process with the barman appearing not to be knowledgeable with the system or what was on the menu) and then waited and waited. When the food did arrive it looked unappetising and tasted, well, just about okay. Pretty charmless service overall but at least a few more people had arrived by the time we vacated our table. I think we'll be back to the chain pubs next time where at least they throw in a free drink if you buy certain mains!!

This place has changed hands recently and it's much improved. Four of us popped in for lunch Saturday. Staff welcoming, good selection of hearty food at good prices. We had cheese & onion pie, prawn salad and lasagne. All home made and very good indeed. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Good selection of beers, too. The pub's interior has been refurbished and it is really nicely done - lots of photos of Nelson & Colne in past times. We will be going again.

Been here twice in the last few weeks food is very good and cheap the quality is also very good I have had the home made cheese and onion pie and the fish and chips both were excellent. My wife had steak both times as she enjoyed it so much.Great friendly service and good beers. Will be back.

Just called in on the off-chance when our Lunch plans fell through,The staff were welcoming and the atmosphere was pleasant. The place was well attended but we were still able to pick a nice quiet corner in one of the rooms. We ordered two Sunday Roast dinners which arrived promptly and were both nice and hot, and well presented. The food was nice and fresh tasting and the the portions were generous, the bonus is that the cost (including drinks) was below £20, which represented very good value for money.Will be returning, and would recommend.

Just called in on passing. Myself and my wife had roast beef dinners. The food was excellent and the portion size was good. The owners informed us they have just taken over this week. As long as the food and service are of this quality they should do well.We will definitely be returning.

Went for lunch. The place is well kitted out for a lot of people. It was really quiet. We should of known that this would mean it's not a place where you go for good food. We had a roast lunch which were a good price, but the quality wasn't there. I wouldn't go back. The veg were covered in butter, the gravy boat took a quarter of the plate. The roast potatoes were like bullets. No mash either. Three very very thinly sliced bits of beef. Terrible. I went to Asda to get something to eat, I was sooooo hungry.No recommended.

Went for lunch today and what a change from last time we went.There was 6 of us all ordered our food the 3 starters we had were fine the mains is a completely different story.We waited a hour for our meals even though it was very quiet eventually they arrived served by someone in dirty jeans and someone else with slops down the front of him not the best impression,the curry my son ordered was supposed to be a madras it was more like chicken in a tomato sauce not nice at all,3 of our party had the mill burgers which were absolutely disgusting the burgers and bacon was burnt black the rolls had obviously been microwaved and we're so hard if we had thrown them at the wall they would not have broken,the final straw was the powdered mash on the sausage a nd mash.All this on top of being overcharged for our meals.The poor girl on the bar and making coffee and serving meals was very apologetic when we complained.We certainly will not be returning or recommending them to anyone.

The guy that is big boss get rid of the landlady and landlord. Yeah that's you Dean. Today come in for a drink as normal. To be told "sorry can't serve alcohol" we don't have a licence. Well can I have a free one and I'll pay when you do. "No was reply". To then I see the new relief landlady( well I hope she is). Pulling all beer through pumps. As I leave she says"sorry not my fault". I say "it is you are running it for DEAN".I then say I won't be coming back.I later find out she said after I left "glad he not coming back". If she only knew DEAN. What me and my family spent in your pub. Tut tut. Oh by the way. The idea of a sandpit in summer looks a good idea love. But perhaps I'd finish the decking off first. You never know who might have a accident near it. Health and safety comes first DEAN.AND HAD TO GIVE YOU 1 star as wouldn't let me post other wise.

Not been here since the pub was called the Golden Ball and many changes have taken place, all good I must add. Passed through the area from Leeds and called in for lunch. Had fish and chips which was great and very filling. I know where to go for food next time I am in the area. Well done to the team.

We wanted food fast as we were really hungry at 5pm one evening after missing lunch. Luckily they serve food all day (241 and other deals available). There's a big car park which was handy. The bar is quirky and has some great photos of Colne/cotton weavers on the walls. We had fish & chips with mushy peas £6.95. The food came quickly and was hot & tasty. Can't fault this place for good honest bar food and a nice homely family vibe in the bar. We'll be back.

Me & my partner were shopping at Boundary mill and found this place by accident. The food was exceptional. My boyfriend had a mixed grill which was huge and I had the gorgeous home made lasagne. There is also a lovely beer garden and very nice staff. We would definitely re visit in the future.

Live not too far from this pub and have found since it opened that the pub meals are absolutely brilliant with amazingly polite staff to serve you. I would definitely go again whether it be a drink for its amazing atmosphere and entertainment or for the well made pub grub.

Found this pub by accident. We stopped in for lunch, and were struck by how pleasant and welcoming it was. The food was as expected, good quality pub food at the right price, and the service was quite fast. It’s the atmosphere that makes this pub one to keep coming back to. The staff there were just terrific. Good staff make all the difference between a pleasant experience and one to forget about asap.

Never been in here before, so I decided to take my father and treat him for his birthday. We had the 2 stakes and a bottle of wine for £24.95, I can honestly say that this is one of the best, if not the best cooked stakes I have ever had. The place is nice and welcoming, very cosy and spotlessly clean. Our food came very quickly and the staff were very pleasant. I think the mixed grill is the next meal for me when I return, as the chap on the table next to me had that and it looked Gorgeous. Will definitely be returning soon!

Decided to go to the Spinning Mill Pub for lunch as we had not been before.We went on a Tuesday which is a quite day. My wife and i were pleasantly surprised, the menu although not large had a varied selection of starters,main meals and deserts. The food when it came was excellent home made and piping hot. The staff were pleasant and helpful,would recommend a visit and we will be returning shortly.

just come back from having lunch with my sister at this lovely family pub. ordered the fish and chips which in my opinion were better than my local fish and chip shop! evan managed to squeeze in a piece of the chocolate cake! lovely atmosphere, and lovely people, would recommend this pub to all!

Called in a few weeks before to ask if any room for Mother's Day was told no but they squeezed us in. I'm glad they did. Was fantastic. 14 of us and all meals were spot on. I ordered a t/bone steak. And what a steak. Would defo recommend to anyone. Booking is an advantage on busy occasions. The staff are brill and very polite. 10/10

I was in on Wednesday and had a steak baguette. Was fantastic. I will definitely be back. I love the warm family friendly atmosphere during the day. Highly recommended

Went out for sunday dinner with my family. It was very quiet for a sunday teatime but couldnt fault the food, service was good and staff were polite and welcoming. planning to return again soon.

We visited on Sunday lunchtime and it was fairly quiet. Nevertheless, we were told there was a 25 minute wait for all orders. There were a group of us, we all ordered different things and got our meals at different times. The food was ok, but only ok.

We booked a table here for 11 for a birthday and were asked to pre order a week in advance. We were about the only people eating. Had a pleasant start sat in the garden and enjoyed a couple of pints of Moorhouses, which was excellent. We sat down for starters and they were OK, breaded mushrooms and fishcakes amongst them. Then onto the main courses. Bearing in mind the order was placed a week in advance. Amongst the meals we had:Thin piece of rump steak, ordered medium rare and served like a well done piece of shoe leather. InedibleChildren's mash that had clearly been microwaved as it had a crust and was cold in the middle. And baked beans that had no sauce. InedibleA mince and onion pie that was drier than a camel toe in a sandstorm. InedibleVeggie burger that was just served on a dry bun, no salad, sauce etc. InedibleGravy served with another pie that still had powder floating on the surfaceHalf a burst egg thrown onto the plate with a mixed grillIt is the most basic pub food menu, done extremely badly. The problem appeared to be trying to run a pub on a sunny Friday evening with 2 members of staff who were trying to run the bar, chef and wait on. The young guy who had to sort this offered us the whole meal free of charge, however as we had eaten the starters and a couple of mains we paid for these. Not the best birthday I have had and it ended back at my parent's ordering takeaway pizza. And I have no link to this or any other pub in this area, having travelled from Hertfordshire with my family. Just an honest review of a truly awful dining experience.

Really enjoyed our visit. Found the Sunday Lunch fantastic and just how Mum makes ! Beer Garden great for kid to enjoy and the new decor is Fab!

Called in after work today for some dinner, still want to call it the golden ball! But the refurbishment has deffo improved the place! Food and service average on a par with wetherspoons for price and value, beers are more pricey than the spoons! Overall first impressions well to be honest ... Don't agree with the managers/ tenants having there child around the bar area when they are trying to run a new business! But I don't agree with children running around a pub that don't have a separate children's area! My own personal view . Will I go back? Maybe at weekend in the evening for entertainment etc. good luck with the venture guys hope it works out for you.
